Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Claire revealed her aunt’s name (Jordan), Victor called a meeting at Newman, and Aria received hearing aids.
Lily’s Apartment
Daniel tells Lily she’s a genius for recommending he use Sally to decorate his new place… He would have never thought to have someone decorate his apartment, and he’s excited about it. He’s meeting with Sally in an hour and asks if Lily wants to do a walkthrough with him.
Lily says Daniel’s a genius for listening to her. She says she’d like to meet with Sally, but she has some business to take care of with Devon. Maybe she can meet him if she finishes early.
Daniel asks if Lily is still cool with him living a few floors down from her.
Society
Devon sneaks up to Abby as she’s looking through her tablet at the hosting station. He says he’d like to make a reservation for 52 people at 7:00 PM.
Abby kisses him and says she doubts he knows 52 people who want to come to the restaurant. She asks what he’s there for.
Devon says he’s there to share some news… He spoke with Mariah and Tessa, and they said that Aria is doing fantastic with her hearing aids.
Abby says that’s great news; they were really worried. She thanks him for dropping by and telling her in person.
Devon says he’s always happy for any excuse to see her. He lets her know that he’s stopping by their old place to meet with Lily.
Abby laughs. Their old place? Lily’s new place?
Devon grins. Yep! He feels like there’s been a lot of changes happening lately, so he’s hanging onto the good old days.
Abby asks what changes he’s talking about.
Crimson Lights
Sally meets Chloe in the coffee shop.
Chloe says it’s nice to see Sally so chipper and energetic… It’s been too long!
Sally says she’s going to meet with her very first client; it’s Daniel Romalotti.
Chloe congratulates her. She says she won’t have to worry about Kevin visiting Daniel and sitting on cardboard boxes.
Sally says Daniel is an artist. He’s going to want some dynamic stuff with lots of comfort.
Chloe says it sounds like a good pitch. She’s happy things are turning around for Sally, but thinks that Sally’s not just happy about the job; she’s probably so happy because things are back on track between her and Nick!
Lily’s Apartment
Lily tells Daniel it’s a little late to ask her if she minds that he lives downstairs… He already bought the place!
Daniel says he wants her to be as excited as he is.
Lily laughs and kisses him. She’s thrilled that they’re going to be living close to one another. She asks when Daniel is meeting Sally.
Daniel says he’s got time… When is Devon supposed to show up?
Lily grins and says she has a bit of time before he shows up. They kiss passionately.
Society
Abby asks if the “change” Devon mentioned means he’s considering moving back to his old building.
Devon shakes his head. Nope. He loves where they live right now; the mansion feels like home, and Dominic loves it too! The change he was talking about has to do with Chancellor-Winters and Mamie’s involvement with the company.
Abby says Devon loves Mamie. What’s the problem?
Devon says Mamie wants to bring Nate back to the company.
Abby can see how that would complicate matters. She says it could be a positive thing since Devon mentioned he wanted to work things out with Nate eventually.
Devon says the keyword is eventually. He says Mamie is trying to force a reunion with her business transactions.
Abby says she’s a Newman and an Abbott and knows he’s strong enough not to be manipulated by anyone. If Mamie wants to use her leverage in the company to reunite him and Nate, it’s nothing to be afraid of.
Devon nods. It’s true.
Abby tells him to trust his instincts and that he’ll be fine.
Devon says he’s not just concerned about Mamie… He thinks Tucker is involved with Mamie’s investment so that he can get closer to Devon.
Abby raises her eyebrows. She wonders why Tucker can’t get out of their lives. She has faith that Devon will do the right thing. She encourages him to meet with Lily to figure out what they want to do. She tells him not to let Mamie manipulate him and not to let Tucker bully him into anything.
Devon smiles and says that’s why he came to talk to her… She always makes things sound so easy, and he loves her.
Abby laughs and gives him a hug and kiss, telling him things will be fine. She tells him she loves him too.
Devon leaves and blows Abby a kiss as he departs.
Newman Enterprises
Nicholas, Adam, Nate, Victoria, and Nikki are gathered in Victor’s office.
Victor tells everyone that it’s time to tell them the truth. He says his mental state has been precarious, and he’s been living in denial. The time has come, and he needs to do something about it.
Nikki says that’s not what she was hoping he would say. She takes a seat.
Adam says he admires that Victor’s facing what they’ve all noticed.
Victor asks why Adam set up a meeting with a doctor to be evaluated without his consent.
Adam says he wasn’t happy to have to do that, but he doesn’t think Victor would have cooperated if he was upfront with him.
Victor sighs and rubs his eyes. He says he was faking everything because he feared what was happening to him. He apologizes.
Nick says there’s no need for an apology. He figured that’s what was happening.
Victoria asks what needs to be done… How do they handle it?
Crimson Lights
Sally tells Chloe things are fine with Nick… On a professional basis. On a personal level, not so much.
Chloe asks what she means.
Sally says Nick made it clear that Sally had to figure out what she wants.
Chloe says that’s easy… She wants a successful, satisfying future with Nick as her partner.
Sally laughs and says she loves how Chloe gets to the bottom line. She says the “swift kick in the ass” that Nick gave her woke her up, and she’s tired of being confused and despairing over her life.
Chloe tells her to take it easy on herself… She’s been through a lot lately!
Sally says maybe so, but she’s been mopey and crying into her pillow. It’s embarrassing, nauseating, and pathetic, and she hasn’t been enjoying her own company lately. She’s lucky that Chloe is her friend. Her only friend, actually, and she wants to pay her back for it.
Chloe says she has a big personality, but their friendship isn’t a transaction… Unless Sally wants to buy her a yacht.
They laugh. Sally says it’s time for her to get her act together. She’s finished with her sadness and “poor me” attitude. She’s getting her spark back!
Chloe cheers her on and they high-five. She says Sally’s plan is great, as long as it doesn’t include Adam. She says she’s had a crappy few days, so hearing news like this really makes her happy.
Sally asks what happened to her over the last few days.
Chloe says she should have seen it coming…
Daniel walks into the coffee shop, interrupting their conversation.
Sally introduces Daniel and Chloe.
Daniel and Chloe joke around like they don’t know each other for a moment before hugging and laughing.
They sit down, and Sally thanks Daniel for sending her pictures. She says she can’t wait to head over to his place and take a look in person.
Daniel’s phone rings, and he excuses himself for a moment.
Sally tells Chloe she wants her to come to Daniel’s with her so she can “exploit” her wisdom and impeccable taste.
Chloe says she’s got some free time before her meeting, which she compares to a root canal.
Sally asks what Chloe was going to tell her before Daniel came by.
Chloe says she doesn’t want to rain on her parade. Sally has to focus on her first new client, so she’d love to tag along to give her advice on Daniel’s place.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Heather and Lucy step into the lobby with their luggage in tow.
Lucy tells her mom that she hopes Daniel found them a place to live.
Heather asks if she has something against the Athletic Club.
Lucy says she loves it, but living there feels so temporary. If they had their own place, it’d feel more real.
Heather says she feels the same way. As soon as they’re settled in, she’ll reach out to Daniel.
Lucy laughs and tells her mom not to tell Daniel they’re in town… She wants to surprise him! She loved Portugal, but she missed living in the States, and she missed home.
Heather says she missed it, too.
Lucy says she misses her father a lot. She’s really happy to be near him.

Lily’s Apartment
Lily and Devon finish up an email and send it off. Lily has been thinking about Mamie and feels like her dreams for the company hinge on Nate coming back to work with them. She asks Devon if that would be a possibility.
Devon gives her a look.
Newman Enterprises
Victor says their top priority must be to protect Newman Enterprises.
Victoria says Victor’s health has to be their top priority.
Nick agrees. Victor comes first.
Nate says they need a diagnosis and a treatment plan, assuming it’s a treatable condition.
Victor asks why Nate recommended that he take a leave of absence.
Nate says they’ve already discussed it, so there’s no reason not to be open with everyone there. He’s made some calls to some esteemed colleagues, and he’s found a world-class private clinic where Victor can be tested and diagnosed.
Victoria asks if there would be NDA agreements in place since it’s a private clinic. They need complete discretion.
Nate nods. He’s already drafted a press release and will send it to the appropriate people for their approval before it goes to the PR department.
Victor asks Adam if he agrees with the plan of action.
Adam shakes his head. “Not at all.”
The GCAC Dining Room
Heather and Lucy sit at a table, talking over a meal. Heather says it really is good to be home, and it feels right.
Lucy says it almost feels right.
Heather nods. It’s time to call Lucy’s dad. She calls Daniel and leaves him a voicemail, asking if he’s found a place for them when they get back to Genoa City.
Newman Enterprises
Adam says that Victor taking a leave of absence might have worked twenty years ago, but the press and rival companies will see through his leave of absence and it will raise flags that something is wrong at Newman Enterprises.
Victoria figures there must be a way to handle it without that happening.
Adam doesn’t think so. He figures a reporter will find out where Victor is and exploit his story.
Nick says Adam’s made his point. Does he have an idea for what they should do?
Adam says he does. They bring the diagnosis and treatment to Victor, and keep everything private and in-house. As a family, they should maintain the appearance of normalcy.
Nate thinks that’s a mistake. Victor needs a controlled, specialized environment.
Adam says it’s Victor Newman they’re talking about. They can transform the ranch or Newman Tower into the most specialized and controlled environment possible, and they can hire the best specialists money can buy.
Nate says it’s not the best course of action. He tells Victor that his health and welfare are on the line, and it’d be a huge mistake to compromise on something this important.
Victoria asks what Nikki thinks about it.
Lily’s Apartment
Devon says he’s been thinking about Nate returning to CW since that’s what Mamie wants. He says the answer is “maybe.”
Lily says that’s better than “definitely not.”
Devon says Nate burned bridges which need to be rebuilt. He still doesn’t think Mamie is being upfront about her plans for the company and whether they involve Jill.
Lily says it’s complicated, given their history.
Devon asks Lily what she thinks… Could she see Nate working for Chancellor-Winters again?
Lily isn’t sure. It wouldn’t be as a COO, that’s for sure. She feels like Mamie hopes they’ll choose their family connections over their connection with Jill.
Devon mentions that Jill owns half the company, and they work with her. Mamie must know there’s no getting around that.
Lily wonders if Mamie’s ultimate plan is to push Jill out and have their family be the sole owners of Chancellor-Winters.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel, Sally, and Chloe enter Daniel’s apartment. He puts down his bag. A missed call from Heather is on his phone.
Sally looks around and says it’s a great space with loads of potential.
They joke about the folding table in the middle of the room… Obviously, Daniel doesn’t need Sally’s help with decorating!
Sally asks Daniel what he’s looking for; she needs to understand his “perfect” living space.
Daniel wants it to be comfortable. He wants it to be homey, not an “opulent showpiece,” but he wants it to carry some weight. He wants it to look like someone lives there who appreciates art and tech.
Sally was hoping that’s what he would say. They’re on the same page!
Chloe says she has some ideas for the dining area.
Sally says she’s trying to impress her new client, so if Chloe’s ideas are better than hers… She’s stealing them!
There’s a knock at the door. Daniel figures it’s Lily, but he answers the door and it’s Lucy. He gives her a hug and tells her to come in.
Lucy says she would have called, but surprises are better.
Heather steps out from behind the door and kisses Daniel on the cheek. “Good to see you.”
Daniel introduces Heather and Lucy to Sally and Chloe. He explains that Sally is an interior decorator.
Heather laughs and says it’s good Sally’s there, since Daniel will need all the help he can get with decorating.
Daniel asks how they knew where to find him.
Heather explains that they called his office and his assistant told them he was taking a day off to decorate his new place.
Lucy says he sent her his address, too.
They joke around, and Daniel tells Lucy she has her own room.
Lucy hugs him and says she loves the place.
Daniel asks Sally to show him what thoughts she has. They go into the bedroom, leaving Lucy and her mother in the living room.
Lily’s Apartment
Devon tells Lily that he can’t see Mamie having the money or the power to take on Jill.
Lily says that’s true but with a partner like Tucker…
Devon nods. He can’t confirm that they’re working together, though. He figures Tucker must be focused on Ashley and the Abbotts right now.
Lily asks if Devon knows what Tucker has planned for them.
Devon says he has no idea. He doesn’t really care what Tucker has planned unless it’s going to impact him or his family.
Newman Enterprises
Nikki thinks everyone is getting ahead of themselves. Shouldn’t they get an initial diagnosis so they know what they’re dealing with before they make any big decisions?
Victoria says she’s been thinking things through, and she agrees with Adam.
That’s something Adam never expected to hear.
Victoria says the more control they maintain as a family, the more they can protect their father and Newman Enterprises. It’s too risky to send him somewhere else.
Lily’s Apartment
Devon tells Lily that Nate coming back to Chancellor-Winters is a moot point. Nate is happy at Newman Enterprises and isn’t leaving.
Lily says it’d mean a lot to Mamie if they at least tried to reconcile.
Devon says it sounds like reconciliation means as much to Lily as it does to Mamie.
Lily says Mamie coming back and talking about family struck a chord with her. Neil is gone, their mom is gone, and Harmony isn’t there either. She says Mattie and Charlie are off living their own lives, and who knows if Devon will ever have a relationship with Tucker? Nate’s family too, and he’s been making an effort to reconcile.
Devon shrugs. He can’t argue with her on that. He’ll give it a try. He’ll do it for Mamie and for Lily.
Lily thanks him.
Devon has to get back to the office. He leaves her apartment. In the hallway, he sends a text message to Nate. “Hey – are you free to grab a drink later?”
Newman Enterprises
Nate says he understands that they want to control the publicity, but they should consider that Victor deserves the best treatment. Doctors can do much more if Victor was in a specialized clinic.
Nick says Nate is proposing they send Victor away.
Nate says it would only be a temporary, voluntary admission to a state-of-the-art facility. He’d only stay for as long as is necessary, which would be determined by the doctors there.
Victor says he’d be away from his family and company for an indeterminate period of time.
Nate says they’d need to work with Victor without distractions or outside influences.
Victor asks what would happen to Newman Enterprises if he were to go to the facility.
Daniel’s Apartment
Sally tells Daniel that she’ll let him know in a few days when she has some sketches and a preliminary budget for him.
Daniel thanks her for her time. He thanks Chloe for her help, too.
Chloe and Sally leave Daniel’s apartment.
Daniel leaves the door open and says he can’t believe that Heather and Lucy are actually back in town. He says he may have found a place for them to live.
Heather asks where it is.
Daniel says there’s a very nice apartment coming up for rent and it’ll be available in about a month and a half.
Heather says Lucy isn’t looking forward to living at the Athletic Club.
Lucy says she’ll be fine.
Daniel says once they start moving furniture in, Lucy can stay as often as she wants.
Lucy gives him a hug.
Lily walks in and says hello.
Daniel says she just missed Sally and Chloe, but it went great, and he’ll tell her everything over dinner.
Lucy says they even let her pick the color for her room.
Lily says it’s nice that Heather and Lucy got the “full tour.” She didn’t know they were back in town!
Crimson Lights
Sally and Chloe get coffee. Sally says she had fun at Daniel’s place.
Chloe jokes that they should have pitched him floor cushions and lava lamps so she could see Daniel’s face.
Sally says she misses how in sync she and Chloe are.
Chloe says she’s missed it too.
Sally says she’s a bit sad that Chloe’s settled in at Marchetti, but she’s happy that she’s found success there.
Chloe’s face drops at the mention of Marchetti.
Sally figures that must be what Chloe was talking about when she said she had some bad days lately.
Chloe nods. She says things aren’t great at Marchetti, and she thinks she’s made a terrible mistake.
Society
Devon approaches Abby as she sits at a table, folding napkins. He laughs and says he thought she had someone to do that for her. He kisses her.
Abby smiles and says she finds it relaxing. She asks how it went with Lily.
Devon says it went great. They’re on the same page.
Abby asks what they’ve decided to do about Mamie and Tucker.
Devon says they’re going to listen to one of them and be suspicious of the other… He’ll leave it up to Abby to guess which is which. He says he reached out to Nate, too.
Abby thinks that’s a step in the right direction.
Newman Enterprises
Adam asks Nate to explain what’s going to happen while his dad is away, separated from his family and his company.
Nate says that it’s logical for Victoria to step back in as CEO. She’s experienced and Victor’s been satisfied with her work. It’d be one less thing for Victor to worry about while he’s away being evaluated and treated.
Victor asks Victoria if this was her idea.
Victoria says it wasn’t.
Nate says he respected Victor’s request and kept their conversation between them.
Victor says he appreciates that he’s done that much. He asks Nikki if it’s time to drop the charade.
Nikki says it’s way past time.
Victor smiles and tells Nate he’s fired.

I appreciate being able to review the script in such detail. I do not watch as schedules dont permit. I was interested in the plot at Newman Enterprises and found it a bit cumbersome to navigate through the menagerie of other plots. My biggest problem was the invasion of ads and non-relevant material that constantly pops up. There has to be a better way. Some of these completely pause and stop my computer as it overwhelms the system! While I am aware of ad sales and revenue, it makes it extremely difficult to wade through.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll see if I can reduce the frequency of ads, I don’t want a bad experience for anyone who’s reading!
