Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Thursday, November 16, 2023, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!

Last Episode

Nikki, Kyle, and Audra.

On the last episode of Y&R, Audra lashed out when Kyle backed out of their alliance, while Nikki found herself held hostage by Claire at the Lake House.

Claire’s Lake House

Nikki calls for Claire, but there’s no answer. Nikki wonders what Claire is planning in Genoa City.

Nikki Newman.
CBS

She tells herself she’ll find a way out; she’s been through worse!

Nikki yells that there will be hell to pay when she gets out.

Nikki yells.
CBS

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge

Victoria says she’s not surprised Nick and Adam showed up. They probably just met with their father, and now they’re supposed to convince her to stay on at Newman. Adam’s probably playing the “good and faithful” son, which nobody believes except their father.

Victoria Newman.
CBS

Adam says Victor trusting him probably terrifies Victoria.

Victoria says she’s terrified that Adam will screw up the company somehow.

Nick tells them to stop fighting. Things are blowing up around them, and they need to figure out a way to fix it.

Adam and Nick Newman.
CBS

Adam apologizes to Victoria, and Victoria apologizes back.

Nick nods. That was nice. He asks Victoria what it would take to get her to stay at Newman.

Lily’s Penthouse Apartment

Jill looks around Lily’s apartment and tells her that it may have been Devon’s before, but Lily really made it her own.

Jill Abbott.
CBS

Lily is happy with it. She mentions how Devon and Abby are living at the Chancellor house now.

Jill smiles and says she can imagine little Dominic racing around, leaving handprints everywhere. They laugh as they imagine Katherine framing his little handprints.

They talk briefly until Daniel walks in the room and tells Jill there’s been a development at Chancellor-Winters that Jill needs to hear about.

Daniel Romalotti talks to Jill.
CBS

Lily says that Daniel learned more about Mamie’s interest in the company.

Jill wants to know more.

Daniel says the infiltration doesn’t stop with Mamie… The man behind the curtain is Tucker McCall.

Jill can’t believe it. She calls Tucker and Mamie a “match made in hell.”

Lily Winters.
CBS

The Genoa City Athletic Club

Tucker walks down from his room and walks into the dining room, where he greets Audra, who is sitting at a table.

Audra tells him to take a seat and order a drink… He’s not going to like this.

Audra Charles.
CBS

The Abbott Mansion

Diane sees Kyle sitting and drinking on the couch. She asks him what’s wrong.

Kyle Abbott.
CBS

Kyle invites her to pour a drink… She’s going to need it.

Diane pours herself a drink and asks what’s going on.

Kyle says it’s bad and there will be a lot of groveling on his part to his father. He hopes Diane will understand why he did what he did.

Diane Abbott-Jenkins.
CBS

Diane tells that whatever it is, she promises there will be no judgment on her part, only support.

Kyle smiles sadly. He says he almost sold out Jabot and their entire family to Tucker McCall.

The GCAC Dining Room

Tucker comes back from the bar with a drink and sits with Audra. He asks what’s going on.

Tucker McCall.
CBS

Audra looks around and says Kyle suddenly grew a conscience, and he’s backing out of their arrangement. She’s worried that Kyle will tell his father.

Tucker figures Kyle will almost certainly tell Jack. Jack suspects Tucker has plans for Jabot, and Kyle will confirm it. He says the Abbotts are predictable.

Audra is surprised. Tucker knew that Kyle would back out?

Audra.
CBS

The GCAC Jazz Lounge

Victoria says it’s quite the moment… Both brothers are working together at their father’s command!

Nick says it wasn’t a command.

Victoria Newman.
CBS

Adam is quick to say it was a command.

Victoria says their father is going to be disappointed when they don’t convince her to return to Newman. She would come back, but only if Adam walks away.

Adam tells Nick they have their answer. Should he call Victor and tell him, or should Nick have that honor?

Adam Newman and Nick Newman.
CBS

Nick ignores Adam and tells Victoria that their father hasn’t changed. He wants the three of them to work together at his company.

Victoria says it’s funny that he’d say that, since he left Newman.

Nick admits he was wrong to leave. His place is at Newman, and always will be. He’s back 100%.

Victoria smiles.
CBS

Victoria says she wants them to enjoy working together and hopes their father enjoys every minute of them.

Nick asks if Victoria is really going to do this to him… Now he’s stuck in the middle between their dad and Adam without an ally.

Victoria says that Nick chose to stay on no matter what.

Nick.
CBS

Nick says they both know Adam will do something stupid and shoot himself in the foot. It’s inevitable.

Adam says he needs to remind them that he didn’t plan any of this, and he wants them to have confidence in him.

Nick tells Victoria that if Adam implodes and Victoria and Nick aren’t there to catch the fallout, he’s going to drag the company down with him.

Adam says he’s right there and can hear every word Nick’s saying.

Nick tells him to shut up and let him handle it.

They bicker for a minute until Adam gives in. Not another peep from him!

Adam and Nicholas.
CBS

Nick tells Victoria it’s an all-or-nothing scenario. Either they all work together, or they’re all out. Victor threatened to fire them all.

Victoria says Adam will survive that, too.

Adam says it’s a gift.

Victoria.
CBS

Claire’s Lake House

Nikki looks around the room and removes her jacket. She gets an idea, opens the armoire, and removes the can opener that Claire had left.

Nikki unlocks the door with a can opener.
CBS

She takes the can opener and works to pry at the locked door. Suddenly, there’s a click, and the door unlocks!

Nikki cautiously opens the door but it creaks, and she leaves it open only a crack. She goes into the washroom and gets some soap and rubs it on the hinges. The door opens without noise this time.

Nikki slips off her shoes and enters the hallway, looking around carefully. She closes the door behind her softly.

Nikki carefully closes the door behind her.
CBS

The GCAC Jazz Lounge

Nick tells Victoria to think about it… Their father faked his mental decline to prove a point, and it worked. Nate showed his true colors.

Victoria says Nate’s motives weren’t as malicious as everyone thinks.

Nick talks to Victoria.
CBS

Nick says it’s not about Nate. He hates saying it, but one day, Victor is going to decline for real, and neither of them wants Adam in charge if that happens.

Victoria says Nick will be there for their father and the company.

Nick says he needs Victoria, too. They need each other and are the safety net between Adam and their dad.

Adam Newman.
CBS

Adam says they’re unbelievable. He could cure cancer, and they would still think, “That sonofabitch is still up to something!” All he cares about is making it work between them. He has no interest in destroying the company and his son’s inheritance, even to spite his “loving” siblings.

Adam gets up and says he’s going to leave them now. They can talk about how to shackle him and throw him into the Newman dungeon. He cares about one thing only… What his dad thinks. As long as Victor has his back, he doesn’t care how much they distrust him. He leaves the lounge.

Nick asks Victoria what her decision is.

Adam talks to Nick and Victoria.
CBS

Lily’s Apartment

Daniel tells Jill that Tucker made some sizable investments through Mamie’s financial firm.

Jill.
CBS

Jill asks if it’s been confirmed.

Lily’s team verified it. She says it doesn’t prove anything, but why would Tucker invest millions into the same account that was used to purchase Victor’s shares of Chancellor-Winters?

Daniel.
CBS

Jill asks if Devon knows.

Daniel says Devon doesn’t know anything. He wanted to get Jill and Lily’s thoughts on it before dragging Devon into it. He knows that Devon has a complicated relationship with Tucker.

Jill figures that it was probably Tucker’s idea in the first place, and Mamie was probably just too happy to go along with it! She thinks they both really want to screw her over.

Jill Abbott.

Audra figures Tucker was testing her, too. She asks if Tucker trusts anyone.

CBS

Victoria says he sent Nick and Adam to “emotionally strong-arm” her into staying at Newman, which shows that he has no respect for her instincts.

Victor says her instincts led her to “Billy Boy Abbott”, Ashland Locke, JT Hellstrom, and Nate Hastings. Hell of an instinct she has!

Victoria glares at him and says her personal life has nothing to do with this… It’s business, and it’s about what she brings to the table.

Claire injects Nikki in the neck.
CBS

Nikki can barely hold her head up. She asks Claire what she wants.

Claire says she doesn’t want to spoil the surprise… Not until everyone is there.

Nikki is slumped in a chair with her eyes closed.
CBS

Nikki asks who Claire is talking about.

Claire says she’s talking about Nikki’s dysfunctional family. They think they’re superior and above it all! They hurt people over perceived threats and discard people like trash who they think are of no use to them. She says the Newmans are the worst kind of people. They’re vicious and self-righteous, and they disgust her.

Nikki asks what she’s talking about.

Claire Grace.
CBS

Claire says she’s waited a long time to even the score, and now the time is up.

Nikki tries to get out of the chair, unsuccessfully.

Victoria says Nikki would have more respect for her if she called Victor out on his constant acceptance of Adam. She thinks that Nikki would probably applaud if she decided to clean out her desk and walk away. Diane says he obviously regrets it, and he’s done the right thing by talking to her. She’s proud of her son!

Kyle doesn’t think he deserves it. He thought she’d use this as an opportunity to rip into Audra or remind him that he was an idiot for getting involved with her in the first place.

Kyle listens to his mother.
CBS

Diane says she has said enough about Audra already.

Kyle says that the only thing left is for him to tell Jack.

Jack doesn’t have to know that Kyle fell for their trap, and he can say it was his plan all along! Jack will be proud of him.

Kyle says that’d be lying.

Diane says it’s not a lie… It’s just changing the order of events! Jack will be so grateful that he’ll forget all about Billy and give him the job he wants.

Diane and Kyle.
CBS

Jill sits down with Tucker and says she doesn’t want to dance around the issue. She knows Tucker was behind Mamie’s decision to invest in Chancellor-Winters, and she knows that for years, Tucker has resented that Jill is running the company his mother started.

Tucker says they should leave Katherine out of it.

Tucker McCall.
CBS

Jill laughs. Fair enough. She says she only came to tell Tucker she wasn’t afraid of him.

Tucker says she wouldn’t be sitting with him if that was true. She’s worried because he has a plan, and his plans don’t often fail.

Jill smirks and says she’ll have to check with Ashley on that.

Jill Abbott.

Victoria leaves the office as Nick arrives.
CBS

Nick walks in and says he figured he’d find Victoria here… How bad is it?

Nikki winces as Victor pulls her I.V.
CBS

Nikki asks why Claire is doing this to her… What does she want?

Victor looks at a painting on the wall and tells her that everything will be alright. She needs to hold still while he pulls out the I.V.

Nikki opens her eyes and sees Victor has disappeared, and the I.V. is still in her hand. She gasps when she sees a doll on her bed with blood running out of its eye. She picks it up and throws it on the floor.

  1. So tired of the story line with the constant issues with Adam. Victoria needs to leave the company and I’m bored with the Nick and Adam rival. Adam needs a win here. Writers need to find a new story. It’s exhausting.

    1. Iam tired of Adam always being the bad guy. He needs to be the Golden child to Victor now. I despise Claire and the way she is treating Nicki! Victor and Adam need to rescue Nicki from Claire and whoever else responsible ASAP! This way Nicki will see how Adam has changed and turned his life around and truly wants to be a Newman the brother and son to both Victor and Nicki. She could be the one person that conveniences the family that Adam has changed by them rescuing her.

  2. I am so bored with the ridiculous ongoing fight between Victoria Nick and Adam. Victor is too old to have to referee three toddlers arguing.
The show could get really interesting if the Nikki situation plays out right. Imagine this scenario …… While Claire was in Genoa City getting to know Nikki and her family, the schedules of their busy lives; her great aunt, being obsessed with Nikki for years, is off having plastic surgery done to make her look exactly like Nikki. And for reasons we will find out later, the aunt goes to Genoa City to take over Nikki’s life. Meanwhile, they are keeping Nikki locked up at the lake house.
I think it would be so much fun to see if this lady can pull off the ACT and see who figures out first that this is not really Nikki.

  3. The writers need to move the storyline on, quickly. Go on to something else. Let’s find who’s behind crazy Clare. Poor Nikki she just wanted to surprise her sister. Move on with Adam and Salley, bring Nick and Sharon back together for the holidays. Victor come on get Nikki.
    or

  4. It’s ridiculous that a family as rich as the Newman family keeps bringing in people who are dangerous or unhinged. In the modern world it’s too easy to find out people’s backgrounds. A basic credit check gives you the names of close relatives, so Newman security better be running up to Victor’s office to tell him, “oops boss, we let Mrs. Newman hire someone who is related to a convict that once held her captive.” Also, writers, the idea Victor wouldn’t want to hear Nikki’s voice after her trip or that a woman with millions of dollars and MS wouldn’t travel with bodyguards= NOT BELIEVABLE. Having said that, we know Newman security is always one step behind any drama. I guess Nick and Adam will team up to rescue Nikki finally changing the family’s view of Adam. Given Nikki’s health, the writers will be defying medical science to explain how the stress of being abducted, drugged multiple times, and frightened isn’t going to degrade her condition and cause her MS to flair up.

  5. I think Adam is the Good Guy now. He does deserve a win. Nick and Victoria are spoiled self entitled Hipocrites. Victoria is a horny corporate daughter and Nicholas uses the women that Adam has loved to appease his Ego against his brother. Can’t Stand either of them. This show only let’s the bad guy ALWAYS win while the good people, the victims are continually victimized by them. I Love To See some Actual JUSTICE. These are the ones who should be made to pay and imprisoned. Phyllis, Tucker, Nate, Audra. You Writer’s must think it’s more of an exciting story line to keep troubling the good people without seeing the bad guy get their upcoming . It’s called now a days “Karma”. But, I view only the good guys paying for the bad guys evils. I only continue to watch with the hope at the ending to see JUSTICE for the victims but am angered every time that they are allowed free to continue.

  6. Please let Adam be a hero after all he gave faith a kidney, took a bullet for Victor. Let him rescue Nikki and have her a change of heart about him, let him and Sally rekindle their relationship. They love each other

  7. Do the writers and producers ever read fan comments or take fan ideas to heart? Everyone is tired of the same old Newman bickering and their abusing Adam! Sally and Adam need to declare their love for all in GCity and no one cares about baby Kyle!!!

  8. The entire Newman clan are so entitled the writers need to let Newman crash and go bankrupt and then will truly see who cares are Victor when they are broke.Writers get a backbone for a change
