Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Kyle confessed to Diane, who urged him to keep it from Jack, while Claire showed Nikki her true colors.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel shows Summer his new apartment. She’s impressed, asking him if the style is “bachelor chic” and saying he could fit a foosball table in the living room.
Daniel says the beer pong table and the “keggerator” will go over there.
Summer says she likes his lamp, but it should be in a different place.
Daniel says his designer has great taste.
Summer figures it’s Lily.
Daniel says it’s not Lily. He hired Sally Spectra.
Summer gets a pinched look on her face. “Nice.”
Daniel tells Summer she just launched a new design firm, and Lily suggested he call her.
Summer is upset that Daniel didn’t consult with her since she’s in the design industry.
Daniel figured Summer was busy running her huge fashion company.
They banter for a minute until Summer presents Daniel with a gift bag. “For your coffee table!”
Daniel takes the bag. It’s a book about Animation and Design. He likes it. He mentions that he heard about Chance getting shot and asks if she’s heard anything.
Summer says it’s pretty awful.
Crimson Lights
Sharon sits with Tessa and Mariah and asks them how Aria is doing with her hearing aids.
Tessa says Sharon saw her yesterday… She knows already!
Sharon says she’s a baby and things can change from day to day… How is Aria adapting to them?
Tessa says that Aria can handle the hearing aids for about an hour before she gets upset with them.
Sharon thinks that’s great progress.
Mariah says it’s obvious that Aria can hear them now.
Tessa says they read her a bedtime story, and Mariah was doing different voices, and Aria loved it.
Sharon jokes that they didn’t video chat her during the reading. She sees how it is!
Mariah says they’ll video chat her later because right now, Sharon has a visitor.
Sharon turns around… It’s Chance! He’s wearing a sling on his arm but is smiling.
Lily’s Penthouse Apartment
Devon serves Lily and Jill a hot drink.
Jill thanks Devon and asks Lily if Nate had mentioned why he wanted to meet with them.
Lily said Nate told them nothing… He texted and said he’d meet them there to talk.
Jill says she can’t wait to hear what he has to say.
There’s a knock at the door, and Devon gets it. It’s Nate and Mamie!
The Lake House
Sharon lies in bed, eyes closed.
Claire sits on the bed and looks at the I.V. bag hanging beside Nikki, then gently runs a brush through Nikki’s hair before dabbing at her forehead with a damp cloth. She tells Nikki that it’s almost time for a new bag. Nikki has had a lot already, but Claire needs her to be calm until everyone arrives for the “big family reunion.”
Lily’s Apartment
Jill asks what’s going on… Why the heck is Mamie here?
Nate says he asked Mamie to come along for moral support.
Mamie says it’s Nate’s business. She won’t be saying another word.
Jill says she sure won’t. They do have something to discuss, but it’s not the time or place for it.
Mamie says she’s looking forward to hearing whatever is on Jill’s mind.
Lily asks Nate what he wants to talk about.
Nate says he’s there to repair their relationship and make amends. If they’ll have him, he’d like to return to Chancellor-Winters.
Daniel’s Apartment
Summer tells Daniel she saw Chance in the hospital since they’re friends. She explains that the bullet went through his upper chest and missed anything vital.
Daniel says he’s lucky… If you can call someone who’s been shot lucky.
Summer says Chance wasn’t even supposed to be in the field at all, and he’s supposed to be getting out of the hospital today.
Daniel asks if anything has changed between her and Chance.
Summer laughs uncomfortably and says there’s nothing between her and Chance.
Daniel says she had some feelings for him.
Summer waves it off. She knows what she said, but Chance is still with Sharon, and she won’t get in between them.
Daniel says things can’t be that serious between Sharon and Chance… It’s not like they’ve been dating for a long time.
Summer asks if Daniel is suggesting she break them up.
Daniel says he’s only suggesting that Chance might also have feelings for Summer, and maybe things with Sharon have run their course.
Summer laughs and says he’s sounding like their mother by trying to play matchmaker. She says Chance only sees her as a friend, and it’s pointless to hope for anything more.
Crimson Lights
Sharon gets up, happy and surprised to see Chance. She tells him he looks wonderful.
Mariah says they’re really happy it wasn’t anything more serious.
Sharon says she wants to hug Chance, but she doesn’t want to hurt him.
Chance shrugs it off and tells her to get in there for a hug.
Sharon asks how long the recovery will be.
Tessa says they could get him a more stylish sling.
Mariah asks what happened to the person who shot him.
Nina walks in and scolds Chance that she only got a text to meet him at the coffee house. Why didn’t he let her pick him up from the hospital?
Chance laughs. He should have seen this coming. He says he didn’t want her to worry.
Nina says she’s wanted to come to his side for years and couldn’t, but now she’s in town, and all she gets is a text message! Argh!
Mariah says he’s in trouble.
Tessa says it might be worse than the bullet.
Chance says he’s the chief of police and can handle checking out of the hospital on his own.
Nina embraces him and says he’s her son, not the chief of police.
They sit down.
Nina says she knows why he didn’t call her… He’s afraid she’s going to nag him about their conversation, but too bad, she’s nagging!
Sharon asks what conversation Nina’s talking about.
Chance says getting shot reminded him of the last time he was shot, as well as other life-threatening situations he’d been in.
Nina says Chance is thinking of a career change.
Chance says he’s questioning his line of work, is all. He’s not making any decisions.
Nina says he should trust his gut instincts. He’s spent years serving the public… When is it enough?
Chance reminds his mom he’s only just become police chief, and he isn’t sure if walking away would be the best move right now.
Nina tells him to get sure.
Chance says he’s got a lot to think about and wants Sharon’s input on the matter.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel tells Summer that comparing him to their mom was a low blow.
Summer says enough of her love life. She wants to talk about Daniel’s love life instead.
Daniel shakes his head. “No thank you.”
There’s a knock at the door. Daniel’s relieved for the interruption. He opens the door, and it’s Lucy and Heather.
Lucy walks in carrying a pineapple, and Daniel welcomes her and her “friend” in.
Daniel and Lucy hug, and Daniel kisses Heather on the cheek.
Lucy looks around and says he has furniture now. She inquires after her bedroom.
Daniel says more furniture is coming, and her mattress will be there in a couple of days. He looks at the pineapple and asks what that’s all about.
Lily hands him the pineapple. “Happy housewarming!”
Daniel looks happily confused.
Heather says Lucy suggested they bring him a housewarming gift. They stopped off at a store where Heather bought him a bottle of wine and Lucy bought him the pineapple.
Lucy says that pineapples grew everywhere in Savannah and meant hospitality and welcome.
Daniel’s happy to get it. He loves it!
Heather says she’s got some other good news to share. She has an interview this afternoon at Chancellor-Winters for a position on their legal team! She thanks him for making it happen.
Daniel thinks that’s fantastic. He says she should be thanking Lily and hopes everything works out for her. He figures she’ll crush the interview.
Lily’s Apartment
Devon asks Nate if he’s serious about wanting to come back to Chancellor-Winters.
Nate nods. He is.
Lily says it’s not surprising, since Mamie has been pushing for it.
Devon asks Nate what’s changed at Newman Enterprises… Nate had assured him he was happy there.
Nate says he’s no longer employed with Newman Enterprises.
Devon asks if Nate blew things up with them like he did with Chancellor-Winters.
Nate says it depends on who you ask. He explains how Victor took back the CEO seat, made Nikki head of Newman Media, and appointed Adam to be Nate’s assistant.
Jill laughs. She says Victor loves a power play.
Nate agrees. He says that Victor proceeded to lay a trap for his children and Nate, too. Victor suspected someone was going to betray him.
Jill shakes her head… Of course he did!
Devon asks what Victor did to trap them.
Nate explains that Victor faked confusion and memory loss and was trying to see who would take advantage of his mental decline.
Lily thinks that’s horrible. She compares it to what Ashland Locke did to Victoria.
Jill laughs and shakes her head. She says that is the most Victor Newman move she’s ever heard.
Lily asks what this has to do with Nate leaving Newman.
Devon asks if Nate figured out what Victor was doing and called him out on it.
Nate shakes his head. Nope, he tried to protect Victor and get him help, but it blew up in his face.

The Lake House
Claire makes sure the I.V. is secure in Nikki’s hand. She smiles as she tells Nikki she’s not surprised she tried to escape… Nikki had told her how strong she was and how she could handle anything.
Claire says it must be strange for Nikki to be vulnerable and not in charge of anything. She must have so many questions, which Aunt Jordan will answer… Once everyone is there, of course. She says she could try to tell Nikki about it, but she’s afraid she’d get too emotional.
Claire looks intently at Nikki and says she’s usually good at keeping everything inside, but this… This is too big and too important. She says, “You could say I’ve been waiting for this Thanksgiving my whole life.”
Claire gets up and says it’s time to set things in motion. She wishes Nikki sweet dreams. “Enjoy them while you can.” She leaves the room and locks the door. There’s been a deadbolt installed since Nikki escaped.
Lily’s Apartment
Nate explains that he was going to get Victor discreet treatment at a place where there’d be no media leaks.
Jill nods. A facility or a private clinic?
Nate says that was it exactly. It was a good plan, but Victor saw it as Nate trying to oust him from the CEO chair so that Victoria and Nate could take control of the company. He wanted to get Victor proper treatment, but Victor was hell-bent on finding a traitor, and decided that’s what Nate was.
Jill laughs and says, ironically, that Nate would never turn on anyone for his own gain.
Nate says he’s owned up to the mistakes he’s made in the past, and he wouldn’t do it with a man’s well-being at stake. His only objective was to protect Victor’s health and well-being.
Devon asks why Victor would fire him if he didn’t have proof of what he thought Nate was doing.
Nate says he set things up proactively so Victor could be moved into the facility quickly.
Devon asks if Nate committed Victor without his consent.
Nate says he did it to make sure Victor had a place reserved for when he needed it. Adam was the one who was looking to use Victor’s weakness for his own gain.
Lily says Victor didn’t see that, obviously.
Nate says Victor chose to believe Adam was sincere. Adam is family… Nate isn’t.
Lily says that now he’s out of a job, Nate wants them to forgive him and welcome him back at Chancellor-Winters.
Mamie says Nate should be welcomed back to the family, where he belongs.
Daniel’s Apartment
Summer says she has to leave.
Heather hopes Summer isn’t leaving because they showed up.
Summer says she has to pick up food and get back to work. She hugs Lucy and says goodbye to Heather. She tells Daniel to invite her back when Sally is finished with the place.
Lucy says she wants a mirror wall in her room… Or maybe a mural! She rushes out.
Heather tells Daniel that Summer has been curious about Heather’s “dynamic” with Daniel.
Crimson Lights
Mariah says they’re happy that Chance is out of the hospital and on the mend. They get up and leave the coffee shop.
Chance says he’s starving.
Nina laughs and says he hasn’t changed… Her boy is always hungry!
Chance says he didn’t have an opportunity to eat at the hospital. He asks if he can take his “two favorite ladies” to breakfast.
Lily’s Apartment
Jill reminds Mamie she said she wouldn’t intrude on their discussion.
Mamie says she said she wouldn’t intrude on any business discussion. This is much more than that; this is about family reconciliation, and that’s what her whole journey is about.
Jill asks Nate why they should bring him back to Chancellor-Winters. She’s having a hard time buying him as a team player. He keeps bouncing back between companies, pissing everybody off as he goes!
Nate says he’s learned a lot since his departure from Chancellor-Winters and is past the need to prove himself no matter the cost. He has a new appreciation for collaboration and knows that “his way or the highway” won’t get him very far. He’s ready to be the best man for the job and be a proper cousin to Devon and Lily.
Society
Chance, Sharon, and Nina walk into the restaurant.
Abby greets them and tells Chance she didn’t know he was out of the hospital.
Chance says he’s doing better. He thanks her for coming by to see him… He was pretty groggy, but he remembers her there!
Abby is happy Chance is okay and says they have to set up a time for him to visit with Dominic.
Chance says he’d love that.
Abby says breakfast is on her. She seats them.
Nina asks her to take a break and join them.
Abby’s a bit weirded out but sits down with them.
Nina starts asking Abby – as Dominic’s mom – how she would feel if Chance quit law enforcement and chose a different career.
Chance tells his mom not to put Abby on the spot.
Abby says when they were married, she lived in fear that something bad would happen to him, and it did… Spain. She says that even though they’re not together anymore, she still worries and cares about him. She says Dominic cares for him too, and someday, Dominic will worry about him as well. If he’s thinking of walking away from the police force, she’s all for it!
The Lake House
Nikki starts coming around. She cracks open her eyes and looks around.
There’s a cloche on Nikki’s bed. She lifts it, and instead of a plate of food underneath, she sees a bottle of vodka.
She slams the cover back down and looks up at the I.V. line. She thinks to herself that she has to get out and find her phone. She has to call Victor!
Nikki reaches down and pulls the I.V. line out of the back of her hand. She whimpers in pain.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel asks Heather what Lucy meant by a dynamic between them… Do they have a dynamic?
Heather says she saw the look that his sister shot him. What’s going on?
Daniel says Summer is worried that Heather moving back to town will dredge up Daniel’s old “demons.” She thinks he’ll spiral again.
Heather asks if Summer thinks that’s her fault.
Daniel shakes his head. Summer knows it’s his fault, but she knows he was ashamed of the spiral he went down.
Heather says she knows he’s in a better headspace and won’t hurt her and Lucy like he did before. If she didn’t believe that, she wouldn’t have moved back.
Daniel thanks her for her support and vote of confidence.
Heather tells him she likes who he is now and she likes him a lot. He knows that, doesn’t he?
Society
Abby asks Chance what he would do if he left the force.
Chance jokes that he’d be a professional baseball player. Actually, he hasn’t given it any thought, since he doesn’t think he’s done being Chief yet!
Sharon says it’s a big decision.
Nina thinks Chance should think about getting into the business world… Maybe big business is his true calling. He’s a Chancellor, after all!
Summer enters the restaurant and breaks out in a grin when she sees Chance. She asks how he’s doing.
Chance says he’s doing good… His sling is getting him lots of sympathy!
Summer laughs and says he deserves it.
Sharon looks on with an inscrutable look on her face, and Abby notices the tension.
Lily’s Apartment
Nate says he’s been keeping up on Chancellor-Winters and is up to date on what they’ve accomplished lately. He thinks he could be of use in a number of areas and wants to feel like he’s part of the family again.
Lily says those are two different things. Does he want back into the family, or does he want a job because he’s unemployed?
Nate says he misses Lily and Devon. He hates that they’re not as close as they used to be, and so does his mom. He wants to make her proud, along with Malcolm, Dru, and Neil. He says they can get there… Neil and Malcolm always found a way back from their issues, and Dru and Olivia did too.
Jill says she appreciates Nate putting himself on the line and believes he was sincere when he said he regretted betraying them, but now she has to discuss with Devon and Lily whether they want Nate back at Chancellor-Winters.
Devon says, “No promises.”
Nate thanks them for their time and gets up with Mamie.
Mamie tells Jill that she’s looking forward to having a discussion about their issues.
Jill says she does too.
Nate and Mamie leave the apartment.
Lily says Nate seems sincere and honest, and they all believe in second chances… Lily wouldn’t be there without them!
Devon says they need to take a second to think about it. He doesn’t think Nate would care about coming back to Chancellor-Winters if he hadn’t been fired. He says he’d like to learn more about Victor’s decision to fire him before they make a decision.
Lily says Devon’s right… Nate could be lying to them.
Jill doesn’t think he was lying… That sounds too much like something Victor would do, and Nate knows that Devon could check it out… He would just ask Abby, who could talk to anyone at Newman to find out what happened.
Devon says it doesn’t mean that Nate’s intentions weren’t self-serving… Maybe he was acting on it for Victoria’s sake.
Lily asks Jill what she thinks about Nate returning.
Jill says Nate wouldn’t be her first choice… He crossed a line by trying to sell them out, but she agrees that he seems sincere. She’d be willing to give it a try, because they’re going to need all the support they can get right now.
Devon asks what she means.
Society
Summer picks up a take-out bag from the bar and goes to leave the restaurant.
Abby stops Summer and says they need to talk.
Summer asks what they need to talk about.
Abby asks what’s going on between Summer and Chance.
Summer laughs. “I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
Abby gives her a look. She doesn’t believe her.
Summer asks if it’s that obvious.
Lily’s Apartment
Lily tells Devon she knows what Jill is talking about. She says she would have told him sooner, but knew he was working on his relationship with Tucker. She tells him that there is evidence that Tucker is involved with Mamie’s investment in Chancellor-Winters.
Devon nods and listens.
Lily says that Mamie has a vested interest in Chancellor-Winters, and Tucker does too.
Jill says Tucker’s interest probably involves getting rid of her.
Devon asks what evidence they’ve found.
Lily explains that Tucker has been making investments with Mamie’s firm, L.B.B. They’re colluding somehow!
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Mamie and Nate enter the lobby of the club. Mamie tells Nate she’s proud of him, he handled everything just right at the meeting, and his cousins would be foolish not to want him back in the family business.
Nate thanks her for her vote of confidence, but he’s not sure that Devon will be able to forgive him.
Mamie says she can help Devon make up his mind and seal the deal. She kisses Nate on the cheek.
Crimson Lights
Nina thanks Chance for taking her out for breakfast. She asks if he wants her to drive him home.
Chance says he’ll hang out with Sharon… If that’s okay with her!
Sharon laughs and says she’ll suffer through it.
Nina hugs Chance and leaves.
Chance tells Sharon he missed her.
Sharon says she missed him too. Now that they’re alone, how does he really feel about leaving the force?
Chance says they’ve already talked about it.
Sharon says he liked helping people and keeping them safe.
Chance says he felt good about being chief, but getting shot is a good reason to rethink life.
Sharon says whatever he decides is fine by her. She doesn’t want him to feel pressured into making a decision.
The Lake House
Nikki pushes herself onto her feet. She feels weak and lightheaded… Like she’s been… She looks at the bottle in horror, then at the I.V. She realizes that she’s been having alcohol fed into her by the I.V.
Nikki picks up the I.V. line and lets a bit drip into her hand. She smells it and takes a sniff. “Oh my God.” She crawls back into bed and clutches at the bedspread, horrified.
Claire fixes her hair in the mirror.
A voice from behind her calls out. “Don’t get soft on me now, Claire!” It’s Aunt Jordan. She says they’ve waited so long and are so close.
Next Week on The Young and The Restless
Jill asks Chance to work with her at Chancellor-Winters. She’ll teach him the ropes of the business world!
Abby welcomes Gloria, Michael, and Kevin back. She tells Michael she’s glad he kept Gloria out of prison.
Nikki takes a drink of vodka and drops the bottle on the floor, smashing it. She crawls onto the bed, crying. “What have I done?!”
