Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Summer asked Chance on a date, and Kyle reacted violently to Tucker’s admission by punching him.
Newman Enterprises
When Adam walks in, Nick is sitting in the lobby, tapping on his phone. Nick thinks Adam should have been a few minutes early so they could have some prep time.
Adam asks if Nick’s back to doubting him. He says they have this presentation “in the bag.”
Nick says they have to be united in their meeting.
Adam agrees. They confirm their plan. Adam says it’s being confident, not cocky; it’s time to show the old man they can wow him!
Victor is in his office on his phone. He leaves a voicemail for Nikki, letting her know he loves her and asking her to give him a call and update him on how things are going.
Nick and Adam knock and enter the office. Nick says they have a solid plan in place.
Adam says it’s more than solid; Victor might be impressed with it!
Society
Victoria sits at a table with Cole, discussing Claire. Victoria says Claire told her that she wanted nothing to do with her or Cole but then asked for their help to see Jordan, who had tried to kill her.
Cole says they should honor Claire’s request so that they can help her take control of her life if that’s even possible.
Victoria thinks it’d be bad for Claire’s mental health for her to see Jordan in case she’s triggered.
Memorial Hospital
Claire lies in bed, tossing and turning as she dreams about talking with Victoria and Cole.
Claire asks Victoria and Cole to help her see Jordan.
Victoria is taken aback that Claire wants their help to meet with a woman who tried to kill her yet doesn’t want her parents in her life.
Claire says it’s not like that.
Victoria asks Claire why she wants to see Jordan… Is she hoping Jordan will help her escape, or maybe she will plan another attack against Victoria, Cole, and the Newmans? Maybe Claire wants Victoria and Cole dead!
Claire protests and says she never wanted them dead.
Victoria figures Claire wants to punish them. She gets angry and asks what kind of person would want to see their parents die. Victoria tells Claire she’s not a victim… She’s just as insane as Jordan and Eve! She says that Jordan did them a favor by kidnapping them; she saved them the pain of having a child who wants to rip their hearts out!
Cole says they’ve only shown her kindness, yet she repays them by asking them for help to meet with Jordan.
Victoria calls Claire a monster and goes to leave Claire’s room.
Claire begs Victoria not to leave. She calls her “Mom.”
Victoria hisses at Claire, telling her never to call her “Mom” again. She and Cole leave.
Claire sits up in bed, waking from her nightmare.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack sits beside Ashley on the sofa and asks her to talk to him; it’s a safe space, and she can tell him whatever is happening between her and Tucker.
Ashley asks what Jack is going to do about it… Is Jack going to be a good big brother and beat Tucker up? She says she feels she’s giving Tucker too much power by talking about him.
Jack tells her that not talking about it will give Tucker power.
Ashley gives in. She thinks Tucker is punishing her and has taken emotional warfare to a new level.
Jack asks what she means.
Ashley says Tucker is trying to make her doubt her sanity.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra rushes over to Tucker as he recovers from Kyle’s punch. “What the hell, Kyle?”
Tucker goads Kyle and says it was a good punch… For a daddy’s boy.
Kyle lunges at Tucker, but Audra stops him. Kyle tells Tucker to walk away and leave his family alone, including Ashley.
Tucker says Kyle has his chest puffed out, but Ashley can fight her own battles. She fights dirtier than anyone gives her credit for.
Kyle says nobody fights dirtier than Tucker, but he’s lost this battle, and there’s nothing left for him.
Tucker says Kyle can continue to think that. He figures Jack is disappointed in Kyle.
Kyle tries to go for Tucker again, but Audra holds him back.
Audra tells Tucker not to make it worse.
Kyle tells Tucker they’ve destroyed his chances of making Glissade a success and shown the world what kind of scum Tucker is. He says Tucker shouldn’t make the stupid mistake of coming after the Abbotts; they outsmart him and take him down every time until he realizes it’s over.
Tucker says he has more incentive to go after the Abbotts now… Kyle’s also on his list now, and he’ll square things up with him, too.
Kyle asks if that’s supposed to scare him.
Tucker looks at Kyle and promises that sometime, somewhere, he will come for Kyle and his family. It’s not an “if”; it’s a “when.” He leaves Audra’s suite.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack asks Ashley if Tucker had thought she had a mental breakdown.
Ashley says it wouldn’t be the first time she had a breakdown.
Jack thinks Tucker is gaslighting Ashley. He thinks it’s low, even for Tucker.
Ashley nods. She thinks so, too. She says Tucker is trying to gaslight her about what happened at the cafe in Paris.
Jack says she told him that Tucker got very angry at the cafe.
Ashley says Tucker wasn’t just angry… He was in a rage, throwing a chair and breaking a glass at the restaurant.
Jack asks if Tucker is denying that it happened.
Ashley shakes her head. She says Tucker admits that he was angry and they argued, but he said that the violence that scared her so much never happened.
Jack thinks Tucker doesn’t want to own up to what he did; he wants to erase it. Jack says he’s a bigger coward than he thought, and Ashley can’t let “that snake” or his ideas into her head.
Ashley says that’s easier said than done.
Jack says she knows what she saw, heard, and felt. That was real.
Ashley nods and says she loves Jack’s faith in her… But what if she’s wrong?
Society
Victoria tells Cole that Michael may be able to get a judge to sign off on the request to see Jordan, but they’d have to finance her trip to Oregon and set up security. She wonders what will happen if the visit upsets Claire more than she already is.
Cole says they both want to keep Claire safe, but she’s stronger than she was. It took a lot of courage for her to come to them with the request. He smiles and says he saw Victoria in Claire when she came to them for help; she was so polite and careful in choosing her words so she wouldn’t offend them.
Victoria smiles and says she sees Cole in Claire as well; she’s sensitive just like her father. She worries about what seeing Jordan might do to her.
Cole says Claire is sure that confronting Jordan is what she needs to do to move forward and get better.
Victoria understands but thinks Claire is very fragile. She doesn’t want Jordan to get into her head and mess her up.
Newman Enterprises
Adam and Nick make their presentation to their father. They say they should rebrand E.V.R.S. as a boutique shop and call it “Newman Real Ventures.” Adam says they’ll give the company two years to show them why the acquisition was a good deal.
Nick says Newman Enterprises will reap the rewards from this move.
Victor says setting up a boutique is expensive.
Nick says they know it is, but they’re looking at it as an investment because they see the company’s promise.
Victor likes the name “Newman Real Ventures.”
Adam says the name change was his idea.
Nick nods. What does Victor think of it?
Victor likes their idea and says it warms his heart to see them working together for their family’s company. He says it makes him proud as a father.
Adam says they did what needed to be done.
Victor says he’s been hoping for this day for longer than either of them realize.
Nick says they’re happy with things as well.
Victor says he wants to leave a legacy behind him, and knowing that his two sons are working together makes him happy.
Society
Victoria asks Cole if he thinks Claire will accept them as her parents.
Cole thinks she will, but it’ll take time.
Victoria says she doesn’t doubt it. She wishes there was a way for her to break through. She thinks Claire is too vulnerable to manage her own recovery.
Cole says they need to trust in Claire. If meeting Jordan helps her find out who she is, they need to help her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Ashley that he won’t let her doubt herself. He says Tucker is malicious, and mind games are his specialty.
Ashley says she knows, but it’s not making her feel better.
Jack wonders why Tucker would be doing this to her… What could he possibly have to gain from it?
Ashley says she doesn’t know… She can’t understand it.
Jack wonders if Tucker is trying to make it seem like a lover’s spat so they can reconcile.
Ashley says Tucker told her she was exaggerating what happened as an excuse to dump him.
Jack says he’s seen Ashley around Tucker, and the fear she showed wasn’t acting.
Ashley nods. She says she knows what happened.
Jack says Tucker’s pulling out all the stops because he doesn’t want to lose, and Ashley is his biggest loss.
Ashley says Tucker is delusional; he was so cruel to her that he can’t possibly think she’d want to get back together with him.
Jack hugs Ashley tightly.

Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra tells Kyle he has no idea what he’s done by getting Tucker so angry with him. She’s trying to protect Kyle!
Kyle says he doesn’t need protection from Tucker. He can handle whatever Tucker throws at him.
Audra says Kyle thinks he’s beaten Tucker because he landed a punch, but Tucker lives for fights like this… He dismembers his opponents so they never come back!
Kyle says Tucker won’t be able to if he gets to him first. His family has already dealt a blow to him, and he needs to finish the job.
Audra says Kyle doesn’t get it. She says Tucker is lethal when there’s no emotional investment. She says it will be like nothing Kyle can imagine when Tucker comes after him and his family.
Kyle says Tucker can’t even take a punch.
Audra says there are weapons much more dangerous than a fist, and Tucker knows how to use them all.
Kyle says Audra is Tucker’s trusted cheerleader… When will she realize she doesn’t need that scum?
Audra says Tucker has always had her back, but Kyle leaked the scandal without warning, knowing it could ruin her professionally.
Kyle says he protected her; he convinced his dad to leave her out of the article!
Audra scoffs. She says Kyle only showed up to pump her for information… She’s going to take her chances with Tucker.
Kyle says he can’t believe he didn’t see her for who she really was.
Audra says maybe it’s because they’re so alike, or maybe it was because the sex was so good.
Kyle says he thought the two of them could accomplish something great… Too bad she doesn’t have the guts to think for herself!
Audra tells him to get out. She holds the door open for him, and he leaves.
Newman Enterprises
Nick and his father are alone in the office. Nick asks Victor how Nikki is doing.
Victor says she’s taking it one day at a time and knows that she has everyone’s support.
Nick says he hates Jordan for destroying Nikki’s sobriety.
Victor says it could have been a disaster; she could have died, but she’s strong, and they’ll all work it out together.
Nick asks if Victor has heard from Victoria.
Victor nods. He says Victoria is determined to be a mother to Claire.
Nick is worried about her.
Victor says he’s worried, too, but she’s a fighter like Nick and Adam.
Nick says Victoria is stubborn like the Newmans, too.
Victor says the Newmans are fighters. He says he’s proud that Nick found a way to work with Adam and overcome their animosity.
Nick says he’s doing his best.
Victor asks Nicholas if he agrees that Newman is where he belongs.
Memorial Hospital
Victoria and Cole enter Claire’s room. Victoria smiles and says they’ve made a decision.
Claire figures they don’t want to help her.
Cole tells her that they are going to help her see Jordan.
Claire’s surprised.
Cole says that because of his mother’s history with mental illness, he understands why Claire needs to meet with Jordan.
Claire thanks them, but she can see Victoria’s not thrilled about her meeting with Jordan.
Victoria says she’s worried about Jordan’s effect on Claire, but she’ll do whatever will help Claire get through the journey. She has one condition, though.
Claire guesses the condition is that they’ll help as long they can keep visiting her… Even though Claire doesn’t want to see them again. She doesn’t understand why they’d want to see her, either.
Cole says he’s sorry she feels the need to push them away, but they will respect her decision. He says that he and her mother both hope she reconsiders.
Claire says she’ll find another way to see Jordan if terms and conditions are attached to their offer.
Victoria says the only condition is that she and Cole go to Oregon with Claire.
Claire shakes her head. Nope. She says it doesn’t make sense for them to come with her. They have lives to live, jobs to go to, and they have families.
Victoria says they are family now.
Cole says Claire may not want to see them, but it doesn’t change the fact they’re her parents or how they feel about her.
Claire says she doesn’t deserve it.
Cole says they’re there to help and have time to take the trip; he can write his book anywhere.
Victoria says she left her position at Newman.
Claire can’t believe that Victoria quit her job for her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Ashley he hopes Tucker is out of their lives for good.
Ashley isn’t sure… Tucker’s rage doesn’t give her much hope.
Kyle walks into the house, scowling.
Jack asks his son why he’s all worked up.
Kyle says he confronted Audra about blowing up their plans and told her he wanted nothing more to do with her.
Ashley says she’s not sorry to hear that.
Jack asks what Audra said in her defense.
Kyle says Audra said she was “protecting” him, but he figures she’s so deep in with Tucker that she can’t see that Tucker will take her down with him.
Ashley hopes Kyle won’t waste any time feeling sorry for Audra.
Kyle says he wasted everyone’s time when Tucker showed up. Tucker said their attack didn’t faze him.
Jack says they’ve hurt Tucker and blown his reputation to hell. If Tucker intends to turn Glissade into an empire, he’ll have to start from scratch.
Ashley says it sounds like Tucker’s typical bluster.
Kyle says it was more than bluster; it got physical.
Ashley asks if Tucker got violent with Kyle.
Kyle shakes his head. He says he was the only one who threw a punch.
Jack tells Ashley it doesn’t mean Tucker is innocent.
Ashley says she needs to be somewhere. She picks up her coat and leaves while Jack calls after her.
Kyle asks what that was all about.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Audra strides into the dining room and sits in an armchair beside Tucker. She tells him they need to talk.
Tucker is surprised she’s there. He thought she’d have one last roll in the hay with “that idiot.”
Audra tells Tucker to stop; it’s over between her and Kyle. She doesn’t need anyone who will hold her back.
Tucker thanks Audra for warning him about Kyle; it’s good that she’s getting him out of her system.
Audra says Kyle had no problem screwing her over, so she returned the favor. She says Kyle’s not the only one she’s getting out of her system once and for all.
Newman Enterprises
Nick tells Victor that he feels good about the future. Working with Adam has been cool. He laughs and asks if his dad thought he’d ever hear those words come from his mouth.
Victor chuckles. He says that despite their previous fights, they’re blood, and working together makes them a powerhouse.
Nick says Adam has betrayed him many times, but he’s seen that Adam is putting in the effort and showing him a different side of his personality. He hopes it’s real.
Victor says Adam has deep psychological wounds because Victor wasn’t there to raise him. When Adam came to town, he saw the close bond between Victor, Nicholas, and Victoria, but he never felt part of it. It makes him happy that Nick has decided to work with him.
Nick says Adam has a lot to offer, and he’s impressed him… And to answer his dad’s question, yes, he knows he belongs at Newman with his family.
Society
Adam walks into the restaurant and sees Sally sitting at the bar. He sits down beside her, smiling, and says hello.
Sally says he looks awfully proud of himself… Does it have anything to do with his and Nick’s presentation to their dad?
Adam nods. He says they knocked it out of the park. He says he and Nick were in sync, and Victor loved it. He didn’t know it was possible!
Sally’s proud of him.
Adam smiles and says he’s proud of himself, too. He says he and Nick worked hard and took a good step in the right direction in their relationship for the first time in their lives.
Sally says there’s nothing more that she wants for him.
Adam says he’d love nothing more than to have a celebratory dinner with Sally, but she has a client meeting.
Sally says it’s his lucky day; her client just canceled! She wonders if having lunch and dinner with Adam in one day might be too much.
Adam says there’s no such thing as too much when it comes to Sally.
Sally says she’s ready to live dangerously if he is!
Memorial Hospital
Victoria sits beside Claire on the bed. She tells Claire that she didn’t leave Newman completely; she took a leave of absence and will have a position waiting for her when she returns.
Claire can’t believe it. She’s seen Victoria’s love for her job and thinks she’s the best at it. Why would she sacrifice something she loves so much?
Victoria says she can’t deny Newman is important to her, but family always comes first.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker asks Audra if she’s telling him she’s walking away from him, too.
Audra says Tucker taught her everything she knows. Cold, calculated moves that are well-executed are the way to win. She says his “lovesick revenge crap” is a recipe for disaster, and she wants nothing to do with it.
Tucker says he’s not lovesick. He can’t do this without her!
Audra says Tucker sucked her in and made her promises that he hasn’t kept.
Tucker says their endgame hasn’t changed. They’re going to take over Jabot!
Audra says they’re further away from that goal than ever, and they’ve taken a huge hit.
Tucker protests that the scandal hasn’t hurt her.
Audra says it’s only a matter of time before it catches up to her. She says she’ll be done if her name is revealed in the emails. She has no protection and doesn’t have Tucker’s finances or resources.
Tucker says she has him.
Audra says she doesn’t. Her reputation will be ruined and everything she worked so hard for will be gone, and she won’t let that happen.
Tucker says he won’t let it happen either. She trusted him before; she needs to trust him now.
Audra shakes her head. She trusted him before his love/hate relationship with Ashley; if it was about money and power, that’d make sense, but because it’s about Tucker’s feelings, she wants no part of it.
Ashley enters the club’s lobby and sees them talking in the dining room.
Memorial Hospital
Claire tells Victoria and Cole that they’ve given up too much for her already… She can’t let them give up anymore; she’s a stranger who helped put Victoria and her family through hell. She says Victoria’s mom is still suffering.
Victoria says Nikki has the full support of her family, just like Claire does.
Claire says it doesn’t make sense.
Cole says being raised by someone with a mental disorder can make it hard to understand how a normal family operates. The Newmans may not be the typical “normal family,” but they love their family unconditionally.
Victoria says she and Cole want to go on the trip with Claire to support her and be there for her… No strings attached. She knows that facing her aunt will be difficult.
Claire says Jordan was her world and all she knew. Finding out that her life was a lie and she was raised to hate makes her feel like a monster.
Victoria says she’s not a monster; she’s free.
Claire shakes her head. She says she’s not free until she faces Jordan and asks her how she could destroy an innocent child and call it love. Maybe there won’t be any answers to her questions, but she thinks asking those questions will help her get better. She accepts Victoria’s condition, but they have to accept hers…
Cole asks what her condition is.
Claire says they can go to Oregon together, but she needs to face her aunt alone.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Kyle that he put himself in danger by confronting Audra when Tucker arrived.
Kyle says it’s nothing to worry about… Tucker’s bark is worse than his bite.
Jack isn’t sure about that. Tucker doesn’t like to lose, and he’s a threat to them.
Kyle says Tucker made it clear he’s at the top of his enemies list.
Jack says they haven’t heard from Tucker in a long time; part of him hoped the war was over.
Kyle says Tucker’s last words were that he was coming for Kyle and the rest of the Abbotts.
Jack says Tucker’s ego took a hit, and he will try to prove he’s on top. Jack hopes that Tucker leaves Ashley out of it.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker tells Audra they’ve faced obstacles before, and he usually gets what he wants.
Audra doesn’t think Tucker knows what he wants anymore. Does he want to punish Ashley and her family, or does he want to win her back and live happily ever after?
Tucker says he’s going to make a promise.
Audra interrupts him and says his promises don’t mean anything to her anymore. She’s out; he’s on his own. She gets up and leaves the dining room. She sees Ashley in the lobby and tells her to “have at him. You two and your twisted dance that never ends.”
Ashley says she’s not there to talk to Tucker… She wants to talk with Audra.
