Last Episode

Jack uses his phone's flashlight to look at the bonsai.

On the last episode of Y&R, Phyllis tipped off Jack about the bug as Devon probed the connection between Mamie and Tucker.

Newman Enterprises

Nikki introduces Claire to Victor as her new assistant at Newman Media.

Claire Grace.
CBS

Victor welcomes her to the company. He says Nikki speaks very highly of her, and that’s a rare thing. He asks if she’s aware of how important her job is.

Claire says she is, and she’s honored to be trusted with the position. She’s excited to be part of a young business like Newman Media and to be allowed to learn from the best.

Nikki and Victor smile happily.

Nikki and Victor Newman.
CBS

Sally’s GCAC Suite

Sally tells Nick that since the financing and suppliers are in place, it’s time to bring some clients to her business. She thinks it’s key to generate word-of-mouth and get some clients before they start marketing the business.

Nick doesn’t say anything; he just looks through her sketches.

Nick and Sally.
CBS

Sally asks if he’s on board with hiring her to design the offices for his and Sharon’s new company.

Nick says, “100%.” He seems distracted.

Sally says they could do a before/after for marketing. It’d be good for his company and hers as well.

Sally and Nick.
CBS

Nick nods non-commitally.

Sally notices he’s not listening. She asks if he’d like the chartreuse or hot pink walls.

Nick answers, “Yes.”

Sally talks with Nick.
CBS

Sally says he’s not listening to anything she’s said.

Nick says he’s sorry; he can’t stop thinking about “something else.”

Sally guesses he’s thinking about her and Adam. She says he hasn’t been the same since he found out about the kiss.

Nick looks at Sally.
CBS

Society

Adam approaches Victoria and Nate’s table with a notebook and pen. He says he was nearby working on the errands that Nate sent him on and thought he’d give a quick update.

Victoria and Nate look at Adam.
CBS

Victoria says it seems like he could have texted instead.

Nate says he doesn’t mind. He wants to hear what Adam has to say.

Adam says he picked up Nate’s dry cleaning and his suit alterations at Fenmore’s. He confirmed tomorrow’s breakfast, got the presentation binders together, and the research Nate asked for will be on his desk by the end of the day.

Adam holds a pen and notebook.
CBS

Nate says Adam has accomplished a lot in one morning… He’s impressed!

Adam looks at Victoria and says she’s not impressed.

Victoria claps her hands ironically and says, “Bravo for doing your job!” She asks why Adam is working so hard.

Adam, Victoria, and Nate.
CBS

Adam says that’s the idea… Work hard and get the job done.

Nate says he seems to be doing that.

Victoria says it’s a little suspicious. It’s a clear sign Adam is up to something.

Nate talks to Adam.
CBS

Adam says Victoria is putting him between a rock and a hard place. If he slacks off, he’s an ingrate; if he works hard, he’s plotting something.

Victoria says that’s right.

Adam says he dreams that one day, Victoria will accept what he says at face value.

Adam.
CBS

Victoria says that won’t be happening any time soon.

Adam asks her how he can convince her that his reformation is real.

Nate says he and Victoria are giving Adam the benefit of the doubt.

Victoria talks to Adam.
CBS

Adam says he hopes it’s true and hopes it can last. He can swim against the current, but it’d be easier if they had faith in him.

Victoria asks why it should be easy for him.

Adam says it’d be better for everyone. They’d all benefit from it if it works out.

Adam Newman.
CBS

Nate says it’s good so far.

Adam thanks him.

Victoria says her jury is still out.

Victoria and Nate talk.
CBS

Adam says of course it is… He can’t wait for the verdict. He leaves the restaurant and heads back to the office.

Victoria tells Nate she thought they were both immune to Adam’s tricks. She hopes Nate isn’t falling for Adam’s con.

Sally’s GCAC Suite

Nick says he’s trying to forget about the kiss. He hates seeming paranoid.

Nick and Sally talk.
CBS

Sally says he has no reason to be paranoid.

Nick says he believes Sally and Adam are just friends, even if Adam wants more. She also told him that she was torn up inside and her feelings were all over the place, and then she told him that she loved him to try to make him feel better.

Sally asks what he’s talking about.

Sally talks to Nick.
CBS

Nick says she went from “I’m not ready to be in love” to “I’m falling in love with you” very quickly.

Sally says that’s a bit of an exaggeration. She says she wouldn’t admit to feeling something for him if it wasn’t true.

Nick says the timing can’t be a coincidence. Doesn’t Sally see cause and effect?

Nick talks to Sally.
CBS

Sally says the important thing is being open about her feelings.

Nick says she can always be honest with him.

Sally says she is being honest with him. Adam got to her.

Sally Spectra.
CBS

Nick says that’s what Adam wanted.

Sally says she isn’t sure what Adam’s reasoning is. She cares about Nick, and most of the time she can handle whatever’s thrown at her, but Adam is relentless and knows how to push people’s buttons.

Nick asks Sally if Adam could have pushed her buttons if there wasn’t a part of her that still loved him.

Nick Newman.
CBS

Newman Media

Nikki tells Claire that she made a very good impression on Victor, which is no easy feat.

Claire hopes she didn’t make a fool of herself. They studied Newman Enterprises in business school, and meeting Victor in person was intimidating.

Claire smiles at Nikki.
CBS

Nikki smiles and sits at her desk.

Claire gushes how she wrote a paper about Victor’s acquisitions, and now she shook his hand.

Audra enters the office and apologizes for interrupting. She tells Nikki she just finished a call with the podcast network they want to acquire.

Nikki talks to Claire.
CBS

Nikki asks if they’re close to making a deal.

Audra says the company is holding onto a ridiculous purchase price.

Nikki says they should give them more time. She asks Claire what she thinks about it.

Audra enters the office.
CBS

Claire says she doesn’t know the details since she’s so new.

Nikki says she’s sure Claire learned a lot about negotiating during her business training. She asks what Claire’s instincts tell her.

Claire suggests they give the company a way out by dropping the fee but gain it back in another aspect of the deal.

Audra and Claire.
CBS

Nikki says that’s very astute.

Audra says it’s an interesting approach, but she’s not sure what they want that they could reduce the price for.

Nikki says they could ask for some advertising in lieu.

Audra leaves as Claire looks on.
CBS

Audra thinks that could work.

Nikki asks if they’re good now.

Audra says they are. She thanks Claire for her insight. She leaves the office and looks upset as she closes the door behind her.

Audra looks unhappy.
CBS

Nikki tells Claire she’s not sure if she’d want to go up against her in a negotiation.

Claire says her great-aunt told her she was a great negotiator… She had great success at getting a later bedtime.

Nikki laughs and says Victoria was always like that… Very strong-minded. She wants to make a few things clear.

Nikki talks.
CBS

Claire says she’ll take some notes.

Nikki says that shouldn’t be necessary. First, she wants Claire to call her “Nikki” instead of “Mrs. Newman.” She’s a demanding boss, but she tries to make her expectations known so that Claire will know exactly what she wants from her.

Nikki continues that she’s tough but fair and sometimes needs things to move quickly. Claire might think she’s barking orders at her, but it’s nothing personal.

Claire Grace.
CBS

Claire says, “Of course, Mrs… I mean Nikki.” She says she has thick skin and can take criticism. Most things aren’t personal; it’s usually what the other person is going through.

Nikki smiles and says she’s an old soul.

Claire says she’s not sure about that, but she was raised in a strict household and taught to follow the rules. Do what you’re told and behave appropriately.

Nikki smiles.
CBS

Nikki says it sounds like Claire’s great-aunt laid down the law.

Claire says she loves her great-aunt, but they didn’t always see eye-to-eye on anything.

Nikki asks if she has any siblings.

Claire talks to Nikki.
CBS

Claire shakes her head.

Nikki says she lost her parents at a young age and is thankful she had her sister. She asks if Claire has anyone besides her great-aunt to help care for her. She sees the look on Claire’s face and says that Claire obviously doesn’t want to talk about the past.

Claire says she’d rather focus on the future.

Nikki talks with Claire.
CBS

Sally’s GCAC Suite

Sally tells Nick that she doesn’t love Adam… That’s over, just like Nick’s other loves are in the past. She’d rather talk about them and their future.

Nick doesn’t say anything.

Sally talks to Nick.
CBS

Sally says she and Adam are friends and went through something terrible together. She feels affection and empathy for him… As a friend.

Nick says losing Ava bonded Sally and Adam.

Sally says it did, and she thinks Nick can understand that because he went through the pain himself. She says she is falling for Nick and wouldn’t lie about that. She asks him to please believe her.

Nick talks to Sally.

Society

Nate tells Victoria he’s still skeptical of Adam but tolerates him.

Victoria says it didn’t seem like that a minute ago… Nate was praising him like he would give him a trophy.

Nate talks with Victoria.
CBS

Nate asks what else he’s supposed to do… Provoke him? Victoria told him that they needed to wait for Adam to show his hand, and that’s when Victor will finally see that Adam was never sincere about changing.

Victoria says she can’t start complimenting Adam and telling him he’s doing a good job… He’d see right through it.

Nate says they’re on the same page. They have to build his confidence until he shows his true colors. They have to make Adam think that they’ve bought his act.

Victoria and Nate talk.
CBS

Victoria takes a deep breath and gives in. She says she’ll have a more positive attitude toward Adam, but being nice to him doesn’t address the bigger issue.

Nate asks her what she’s talking about.

Victoria says she’s talking about her father.

Nate and Victoria talk.
CBS

Nate says he thought she let that go… She said she’d go along with what her father wanted.

Victoria says she is going along with what her father wants for now because it is the only way to keep an eye on Adam. It’s hard for her to wait things out; she’s not a patient person.

Nate laughs and says, “You aren’t? I had no idea!”

Victoria talks to Nate.
CBS

Victoria gives him an angry look. She says hearing her father say he would whip them all into shape… She doesn’t deserve that. Adam does.

Nate says she’s obviously hurt.

Victoria says she’s not hurt; she’s insulted. She asks if there’s anything Nate can agree with her on.

Nate listens to Victoria.
CBS

Nate says he doesn’t want to turn this into an argument. He says they agreed on a strategy to sit back, see how Victor runs the company, and wait for Adam to screw up.

Victoria says it’s not working for her… She can’t just sit back and do nothing. She feels isolated.

Nate asks what makes her feel isolated.

Victoria listens to Nate.
CBS

Victoria says she had an entire company to run, her father threw her out of the CEO position, and Nick isn’t coming back to offer his support. Adam is “worming” his way back into people’s lives; she doesn’t believe he’s genuine, and Nate thinks her reaction is inappropriate. She feels like she’s all alone.

Nate says he’s on her side and supports her 100%.

Victoria asks if that’s true.

Nate talks to Victoria.
CBS

Nate says he only suggests she keep the peace with her father because he believes it’s the best way forward for her.

Nate doesn’t want Victor hurting her more than he already has and doesn’t want Adam to undermine what she’s already accomplished with the company. Can’t she see that Nate is only trying to protect her?

Sally’s GCAC Suite

Nick asks Sally if it’s possible that she thinks she’s in love with him because she thinks it’s “safe.”

Nick talks to Sally.
CBS

Sally says that’s not fair. Her feelings for him are real, and he shouldn’t dismiss them.

Nick says he’s not trying to dismiss her feelings. He doesn’t want her to feel like she’s trapped. He says that if Sally’s confused and needs time, she should take it.

Sally says she doesn’t need time.

Sally looks at Nick with tears in her eyes.
CBS

Nick is angry that Adam is manipulating them. It proves that Adam’s blowing hot air when he says he wants to be a better person, and it’s affecting Sally.

Sally says Nick is the one that seems to be affected… She isn’t, not in any way that matters.

Nick says he can’t go through this again.

Nick and Sally talk.
CBS

Sally asks what he’s saying.

Nick says he can’t be in a relationship where both sides aren’t 100% committed. He’s all in, and he needs Sally to be all in, too.

Sally says she is all in.

Sally closes her eyes as she listens to Nick.
CBS

Nick says she isn’t. Every instinct he has is telling him she’s not.

Sally can’t believe it’s her word against Nick’s instincts.

Nick says he’s been fighting the feeling that Sally wants to be with Adam instead of with him, and he doesn’t think that will change.

Nick talks to Sally.
CBS

Nick says that even if he and Sally are together and Adam was with someone else, there’s still some kind of pull between Sally and Adam, and it’s always there.

Sally wipes at a tear.

Nick says they were happy, but all hell broke loose when she lost Ava. He was fighting for his own daughter and couldn’t be there for Sally when she needed him most, but Adam was. He says she and Adam were like two broken pieces that got glued back together, and nothing could tear them apart.

Sally and Nick.
CBS

Sally says she chooses Nick.

Nick can’t see it. He asks how long she’s going to choose him until she inevitably goes for Adam again.

Sally says she’s talking, but he’s not listening to her.

Nick leaves Sally's room.
CBS

Nick says her kiss with Adam tapped into a deep emotional truth for her.

Sally says he’s wrong.

Nick says he’s not wrong; Sally refuses to see it right now, and until she does, he can’t be with her. He gets up and leaves Sally’s suite, glancing back once and shaking his head.

Sally Spectra.
CBS

Society

Victoria tells Nate she doesn’t need to be protected.

Nate says he knows… That didn’t come out right. He’s aware that she’s capable of handling whatever comes her way. He only meant that he’s there for her; he’s her partner and sounding board. Whatever she needs him to be.

Victoria and Nate talk.
CBS

Victoria works up a bit of a smile.

Nate says he must return to the office for a conference call. He asks Victoria to come with him.

Victoria says she’s going to stay. She’ll see him later at the office.

Nate leaves the restaurant.

Nate leaves the restaurant.

Claire takes a file from Nikki and tells her she’ll take care of it immediately.

Audra walks into the office and says she’s happy to report that Claire’s tactic worked. Their negotiation with the podcast network is moving forward!

Audra comes into the office.
CBS

Nikki smiles and tells Audra and Claire that they’ve done well.

Claire says she just threw out a suggestion, but Audra made it work. She’s sure that it was something they already knew.

Audra smiles and says they all need a reminder sometimes.

Nikki smiles.
CBS

Nikki excuses herself for a meeting with the finance team and leaves the office.

Claire tells Audra she hopes she didn’t cross a line, but Nikki asked her about it.

Audra says she didn’t. They’re all a team at Newman Media, and she believes good ideas can come from anywhere. If nobody listened to Audra when she started, she wouldn’t be where she is. She asks how Claire’s first day is going so far.

Claire and Audra.
CBS

Claire says it’s her dream job and only hopes she can meet Nikki and Audra’s expectations.

Audra says she’s sure she will. Everyone’s happy to have her there.

Claire thanks her and says that means a lot.

Adam smiles and asks if he’s passing Victor’s test.

Adam talks to Victor.
CBS

Victor says it’s too soon to know… Give it a little time.

Adam says it’s early days, and it’s a good lesson learned if he works his way up the ladder and gets his own assistant again.

Victor asks what he means.

Victor looks at Adam.
CBS

Adam says he’d get his dry cleaning delivered instead of telling his assistant to pick it up.

Victor says that’s a good lesson to learn.

Adam says there’s still time for him to fail.

Victor says he only hopes Adam won’t fall into his slash-and-burn habits again… He wouldn’t want to have wasted his time.

    1. Been watching Y&R for years. Victor needs to keep victoria were she is and stop believing Adam. Adam can’t be trusted. Get rid of Nate. Don’t put Sharon and Nick together, tired of them. Get a new story line.

  1. Thanks for today’s episode. I was rooting for Nick and Sally and a new person for Adam. Nick and Sharon are played out. Victoria is a brat. Adam and Nate are playing their part. And I want to see Audra get worried she is a snake.

  2. AGAIN, the guy playing Nate is the worst actor in the world of soaps! I fast forward when he appears on screen most of the time. The scenario putting women as CEO’s, only to watch them fail or look stupid has to stop. AND Mamie’s reappearance with these dreads , her acting is as bad as Nate’s.
I love Adam. NICK IS GETTING TO FAT to wear the Hair cuts. VICTORIA is awful to watch. Nikki has to start dressing her age. Burn those sparkling pants. . Billy won an award and his acting now is as if he’s full of himself. . Still, Y & r is the best soap. Replace Nate….soon, and hurry to get Marie’s storyline to an end….please.

  3. I totally agree, Nate is the worst, he needs to be gone and please take Mamie along. Her story line makes no sense. Audra needs to be fired

  4. I’ve been a fan and watching from day one. I hate to say how disappointed in the writing as of late I’ve been. Escape to Adam, Phyllis & now Billy, everyone deserves a 2nd chance & I know thru the years these 3 have had that, which is why I’m so disappointed. They all mean well & we all have our differences but this hate that Nick has for Adam is unhealthy, he doesn’t give Adam any credit for anything, Billy now Mr Kyle who had Summer keep quiet about Jack & Diane stealing even though Jack is the one who actually Stole the necklace it was Diane who told Jeramy she could do something really big Hello People. Diane can be forgiven for staging her death & staying dead while all a long living in California & don’t believe that she didn’t know what she was doing. That would be believable if it was a year but 10 years not a chance. So she’s all forgiven while Phyllis was set up by Jeramy, now her children & entire freaking town believe there’s no way to be forgiven because they all believe she’s up to something. I tell you now I can go a day or 2 without watching & that’s saying something because I used to schedule errands and work around the Y&R😟

  5. I just want to know how come Sally forgive Wyatt and Thomas but she forgive Adam and Wyatt dump her twice for another woman not the same yes he was cruel but he didn’t dump her for another woman he love her and still do he and yes I know he was horrible digusting on his end
