Chance, Chloe, and Victoria.

On the last episode of Y&R, Chance was shot and is in hospital, Chloe quit Marchetti, and Victoria tried to deal with Victor’s betrayal.

The Genoa City Memorial Hospital

Nina sits with Chance, holding his hand as he lies in the hospital bed, non-responsive.

Nina Webster puts her hands to her head.
CBS

Christine comes in and asks if there’s any news yet.

Nina tells Christine that they’re still waiting for the doctor to assess the damage. She wonders why it’s always Chance… First Spain, then he took a bullet for Adam, and now this; it’s too much for a mother to take!

Christine comforts her, rubbing her shoulders.

Christine Blair.
CBS

In the hallway, Sharon sees Elena and asks her how Chance is doing.

Elena says the prognosis is good… The bullet went straight through and didn’t hit any vital organs or blood vessels. She says Chance is a lucky man.

Sharon says this wasn’t supposed to happen… Since he’s the chief now, Chance wasn’t supposed to be working this closely with cases. She asks if she can see him.

Elena nods and escorts her to Chance’s room.

Elena Dawson talks to Sharon Newman.
CBS

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge

Nate sits alone at the bar, having a drink, when Devon comes in and joins him.

Devon asks Nate if he’s okay.

Devon Hamilton-Winters talks with Nate Hastings.
CBS

Nate says that’s the million-dollar question… Or the multi-million dollar question, given the circumstances.

Devon asks what he’s talking about.

Nate says it’s a personal matter that he’d rather not get into. Devon wanted to talk, and Nate’s ready to listen.

Nate and Devon.
CBS

The Genoa City Athletic Club

Victoria enters the club and looks around the dining room.

Nick arrives shortly after and asks her if she’s looking for someone.

Victoria Newman and Nick Newman.
CBS

Victoria says she was looking for Nate; she thought he might be there, but since he’s not, she’s going to head home.

Nick says he’s there to get a drink… Does she want to join him?

They sit down at the bar and order some drinks.

Victoria and Nick sit at the bar.
CBS

Victoria says Nate was blindsided by their father firing him.

Nick says they have to expect the unexpected when it comes to their father.

Victoria agrees. She says she spoke to Nate, and he thinks Victoria threw him under the bus by siding with Adam.

Victoria talks with Nick.
CBS

Nick says she did take Adam’s side.

Victoria says she didn’t think it was a good idea to send their father to a facility. She only agreed with Adam that they should keep it contained.

Nick nods.

Nick and Victoria.
CBS

Victoria says she’d explain it to Nate, but he’s not answering her calls or texts.

Nick says he’s sorry that Victoria is hurting, but he’s not sorry that Nate is gone from Newman. He thinks Nate was setting a plan in motion to remove Victor from the company.

Victoria asks if Nick believes Nate was being self-serving with his plan.

Victoria and Nick.
CBS

Nick says Nate had reason to be concerned about Victor, but he thinks Nate was planning on replacing Victor with Victoria and getting back his co-CEO position.

Victoria asks if Nick thinks Adam was planning something equally as devious.

Nick says he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know where Adam’s coming from lately.

Nick talks to Victoria.
CBS

Victoria says they could never trust Adam.

Nick says Adam seemed genuinely concerned about their father.

Victoria wonders if Adam is playing the long game, too.

Nick shrugs. Maybe. He’s more concerned about Victoria, though… He’s worried about how she’ll move on from what their father did to her.

Nick and Victoria talk over drinks.
CBS

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge

Devon tells Nate that he wants to discuss turning things around between them… The silent war they’ve been having for the last couple of years.

Nate says that the war wasn’t always so silent. Does Devon know how they can get around it?

Nate looks at Devon.
CBS

Devon’s not sure. He thought they’d talk about it, spend some time together, and see if they can’t work it out. He knows that Nate’s been working with Mamie to put their past behind them, and he appreciates that. He thinks it’s time for him to start making more of an effort with Nate.

Nate chuckles and says it’s a day of big surprises for him.

Devon asks what he’s talking about.

Devon and Nate.
CBS

Nate shakes his head. “Don’t worry about it.”

Devon is persistent. He wants to know why Nate keeps referring to something that happened… Did something happen with work or Victoria?

Nate says Devon’s right… It’s been a day for him.

Nate Hastings.
CBS

Devon says they should talk about it.

Nate says he wants to focus on them. What changed? He’d given up hope on them ever having this conversation.

Devon says it started with Mamie wanting to bring the family together. It made him think about how Neil would handle it, and… Here they are!

Devon talks to Nate.
CBS

Nate smiles and looks over his shoulder at Neil’s portrait. “What would Neil do?”

Devon says Neil would tell him to give Nate a chance.

Memorial Hospital

Nina asks Sharon what Elena had to say.

Sharon, Christine, Nina, and Chance.
CBS

Sharon says the doctors were optimistic and believe Chance will make a full recovery.

Nina says she wants Chance to open his eyes so she can tell him how much she loves him.

Elena comes in and says hello. She says they all look exhausted.

Sharon and Elena.
CBS

Nina laughs and asks if it shows.

Elena says they should take a break and return when Chance has had a chance to rest. She’ll call Nina and let her know the instant something changes.

Christine says she’s right. They don’t have to go far.

Nina kisses Chance on the head and leaves with Christine.

Nina kisses Chance.
CBS

A bit later, Summer enters the hospital and sees Elena. She asks if Chance is okay and if she can see him.

Elena says Chance is going to be fine, but he’s pretty out of it from the anesthesia.

Summer talks to Elena.
CBS

Summer says she wants to be there with him.

Elena didn’t realize they were so close.

Summer says they’ve become friends over the last few months.

Elena and Summer talk.
CBS

Elena says Chance’s mom just left with Sharon and Christine… Maybe Summer could keep him company for a while.

Summer promises not to disturb him, and they enter the room.

Elena tells her she can stay as long as she likes. She leaves Summer in the room with Chance.

Summer sits on the bed beside Chance with tears in her eyes. She looks down at his hand like she wants to hold it.

Elena and Summer.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Sharon pours some booze into hers, Nina’s, and Christine’s mugs of coffee.

They laugh, and Nina tells Sharon that’s enough in her cup.

Sharon pours booze.
CBS

Christine suggests a toast. They all raise their mugs in a toast to Chance.

Nina says she can’t take this again… This is the third time she’s had to wait to find out whether her son will make it through the night.

Sharon says they have to accept that this is what Chance wants to do.

Sharon, Christine, and Nina toast.
CBS

Nina won’t accept it. He can’t keep doing this to the people who love him! She asks Sharon to convince him… Maybe Sharon could be the one to get through to him; they’re in a relationship together!

Sharon laughs. She’s not sure she could do it.

Given the circumstances, Nina is surprised that Sharon doesn’t want to try.

Nina talks to Sharon.
CBS

Sharon asks, “What circumstances?”

Nina says the last man Sharon was in a relationship with was a cop, too.

Sharon nods. Rey was her husband, and losing him broke her heart.

Sharon.

The GCAC Dining Room

Victoria tells Nick she remembers when he told her Victor was faking it… She couldn’t believe that he could think his daughter was a threat to him.

Nick says Victor might have thought Adam could be disloyal to him. He had told their dad that Victoria wasn’t a threat, but Victor kept talking about how angry she was when he demoted her.

Nick and Victoria.
CBS

Victoria says she had every right to be angry, but it didn’t mean she would conspire against their father or sabotage the company. It made her sick when she heard that he suspected her.

Nick asks what she’s going to do now.

Victoria says she needs to talk to Nate and let him know that she’s on his side and always was.

Victoria and Nick Newman talk.
CBS

Nick says Nate’s probably angry at himself… He got outplayed by the master! Nate walked right into their father’s trap.

Victoria says it’s not over yet. Nate can fight to regain his job, and Victoria will be beside him.

Nick scoffs. He wouldn’t recommend going against their father. In Victor’s mind, Nate is a fallen opponent.

Nick talks to Victoria.
CBS

Victoria thinks she can convince their father he’s wrong about Nate.

Nick says Victoria should know that their dad wants him back at Newman and wants him to take Nate’s job. Victor told him right after Nate and Victoria left the room.

Victoria asks how Nick responded.

Victoria looks at Nick.
CBS

Nick says he didn’t… He just left the room without saying anything. He says he’s got a new company with Sharon that’s about to launch, so he can’t walk away from it. On the other hand, it feels like another of Victor’s “tests.” Victor’s putting him, Victoria, and Adam under one roof and watching to see which one wants to wear the crown the most.

Victoria sniffs and says Victor isn’t giving up the crown anytime soon. She needs to calm down; she can’t make decisions when she’s upset.

Nick says they should have another drink.

Nick listens to Victoria.
CBS

Victoria shakes her head. She’s going to go down to the lounge and listen to some music.

Nick says he’s going to head home to Christian.

Victoria kisses Nick on the cheek and leaves the dining room.

Victoria smiles at Nick.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Sharon tells Nina that Rey didn’t die in the line of duty. She explains that he was in an accident and died.

Sharon Newman.

Nina says she’s sorry.

Sharon says he was a good man and a good officer. She had to live with the fact that he could get hurt at any time performing his duties. She chose to be with Rey and Chance and knew the danger, but it’s different as a mother. She says there’s nothing worse than having a child get hurt, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Nina says Sharon could do something about it.

Nina Webster.
CBS

Sharon says she won’t try to convince Chance to quit his job. She hoped that becoming chief would take him out of danger, but there’s no way Chance would settle for being behind a desk.

Nina doesn’t understand why.

Sharon says Chance needs to be in the middle of things. He was born with the drive, and nothing anyone can say to him will stop him.

Sharon.
CBS

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge

Nate tells Devon he appreciates him reaching out, but there’s been a lot of blood in the water, and they need to agree to put the past behind them.

Devon nods. That’s why they’re here and talking about it.

Nate listens to Devon.
CBS

Nate says it won’t happen overnight.

Devon says they’ve both hurt each other, and it will take a bit to get past it… But they’re family, and they can forgive each other. He says his resentment for Nate is getting pretty heavy, and he’d like to put it down.

Nate asks if it’s possible after everything that’s happened.

Devon talks to Nate.
CBS

Devon thinks anything is possible, and it comes down to them making a choice about it. He remembers that Dominic had done something cute when they were playing together, and he almost sent Nate a message about it but remembered they weren’t speaking with each other.

Devon says he felt sad that he couldn’t share a moment with someone he knew would care and doesn’t want to feel that way anymore. He chooses not to have a problem with Nate; despite everything, they can love each other.

Nate smiles and says Devon should have called.

Nate smiles at Devon.
CBS

Devon says he’ll call next time.

Victoria enters the lounge and interrupts Nate and Devon. She tells Nate she’s been looking for him and asks if they can talk.

Nate says he doesn’t have anything to say to her right now.

Victoria arrives.
CBS

Victoria says she knows he’s upset.

Nate says he’s having a conversation with Devon right now, and they’re trying to repair their relationship. He doesn’t want to get into it in front of his cousin.

Victoria tries to say something, but Nate tells her to leave.

Devon, Victoria, and Nate.
CBS

Devon says they can do this another night. He gets up to leave.

Nate tells him to stay.

Devon says it’s obvious that Nate and Victoria need to speak. He says they made a lot of progress and holds out his hand for Nate to shake.

Devon holds out his hand as Victoria and Nate look on.
CBS

Nate doesn’t shake Devon’s hand but nods. They did make some progress.

Devon says they’ll build on it. He leaves.

Victoria sits beside Nate. She says Nate must be furious, but she’s angry too. Her father set a trap for all of them.

Victoria and Nate.
CBS

Nate says he was the only one caught in Victor’s trap.

Victoria says she’ll talk to her father and make him see the light, but Nate says that he’s figured out that Victor was pulling his family together, and he’s starting to see how important that is. When it came for Victoria to choose sides, she chose Adam because he’s family, when Nate needed her most.

Victoria says it wasn’t like that.

Nate says he didn’t see Nick, Adam, or Victoria getting fired. When it comes down to it, the Newmans will always circle the wagons to protect themselves.

Nate talks to Victoria.
CBS

Nina assures him there’s not.

Sharon and Nina’s phones ping with a notification. It’s Elena, who tells them they can go to the hospital now.

Sharon, Danny, Christine, and Nina.
CBS

Nina tells Christine to stay and talk to Danny.

Christine says she wants to be there for Nina.

Nina says she’s fine, and Christine’s been there for her. She’ll keep Christine posted on Chance’s progress! She leaves the cafe with Sharon.

Nina talks to Christine.
CBS

Danny sits down with Christine and says the good news is that Chance sounds like he’ll be fine and make it through. He asks if Christine’s doing okay.

Christine tried to keep it together for Nina’s sake, but this scared her a lot. She’s known Chance since he was born, and they even worked together at the Justice Department. She says Chance helped her out through the whole Phyllis ordeal and wonders why something like this had to happen to him.

Christine says she needs to tell Paul what happened to Chance; they’re close.

Danny and Christine sit and talk.
CBS

Danny says she should wait until they hear the official word.

Christine says it’s a shock when something like this happens.

Christine nods. Carpe diem. She couldn’t agree more.

Christine.
CBS

Summer Newman and Chance Chancellor.
CBS

Summer talks about how she felt terrible when she heard about him getting shot, and thought of what it’d be like if she could never bore him with her problems again. She says she couldn’t have gotten through everything with her mother without him, and he became her friend when she really needed one, and she’s grateful that he’s in her life.

Danny laughs.
CBS

Danny says a yes or no would work well.

CBS

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge

Nate tells Victoria that she chose not to back him up.

Victoria says she didn’t fight for Nate’s plan because she disagreed with it.

Victoria and Nate sit at the bar.
CBS

Nate asks if Victoria wanted her father “locked up in a corporate cocoon” instead of getting him the help he knew that Victor needed.

Victoria was raised to protect her family over anything else, and thinking that her father was losing his mental capacity was overwhelming.

Nate.
CBS

Victoria says she was scared that the word of his condition might leak, which would harm the family and the company.

Nate says the joke’s on them.

Victoria asks if Nate saw an opportunity for her and him to be in control of Newman again.

Nate says it’s not enough that she chose to believe him.

Nate talks to Victoria.
CBS

Victoria says they can salvage it.

Christine says maybe it’s not a good idea.

Danny says he knows it’s a hard and confusing time for her. She was with Paul for a long time and needs time to resolve things. The last thing Danny wants to do is to make her uncomfortable. He’s hungry and doesn’t like to eat alone.

  1. Summer needs to get her a man and leave chance alone and sharon needs to step up before summer get her hooks into chance. I don’t want to see summer with Kyle the traitor the show needs more men and women for the main character instead everybody sleep with everybody or everyone.

  2. Sharon, is to old for Chance, there is no chemistry between them, but a lot between him a Summer, let her enjoy being a grandmother, give Nick and Sharon time to reconnect, I think it’s about time they do.
Love the storyline with Summer and Chance opposite truly attracts.

  3. I hope that Adam gets a chance to prove himself and be excepted I am tired of him always being the Black Sheep He is my favorite character and Nicki is jealous of him and acts it all the time Plus as far as I am concerned Victoria is an evil Brat She always has bad taste in men. And everyone kisses her behind I remember when she was young she took her mother’s boyfriend’s to bed Why don’t she have to pay. And look at Nick he even tried to put his father in jail Why is he always made the good guy He’s out for himself always after Adams leftovers Sick of it

    1. I could not agree with you more!! I am soooo sick of Victoria and her high and mighty attitude 🤮. I would love to see some good come to Adam as well.

    2. I like Summer and Chance together but I agree that they both need someone new. Sharon should stay in the “Friends with benefits Zone.” Summer should just be a good friend. A Lady Cop or lawyer for Chance. Introduce a Snooty, obnoxious rich guy for Summer to spar with and then fall in love with. Sharon likes lost causes, so a mysterious drifter for her.

  4. I will say this again, you’d think the Newman clan would be use to this kind of stuff from Victor, obviously not. And PUUUUULEASE Nate, you thought you could play in the big leagues! Wrong. You gave up a promising career as doctor and now you have nothing. He knew what he was getting into with dating Victoria. Now he is going to craw back to the family he stabbed in the back. Let the circus begin

  5. Nick should never turn his back on Adam. He show his undying love & loyalty to Nick by donating his kidney to Faith when no other match was available.

  6. Please put nick and Sharon back together for ever like u did his parents . They are a great couple. Give Adam some kind of break, Victoria I don’t like either she is so spoiled , and unfeeling person she act suck up like she is better. Not a good character, make some romance on the show please Sharon and nick, Victor and his wife, tired of all the negative stories, what’s wrong with love . Good people. Heather and Daniel need to be together, show some family unity like love, respect, kindness, caring. Why are yaw so stuck on evil and distrust all the time . It sick. We see that on the news every day. In our government .

  7. I think Sharon & Nicholas need another chance. Summer & Chance need to be together. Victoria needs a reality check. She is a spoiled rotten brat. Adam & Sally need to morn the death of their baby & Nicholas need to stay out of it. Nikki needs someone to smack her. She can’t stand that Victor loved Hope & that they had a Adam.

  8. Summer is too childish for Chance, he needs a mature woman like Sharon, Nick need to get his priorities together, let’s stop playing the Newman game, it’s getting boring

  9. So so so happy that Adam and Sally were together intimately. They have great chemistry and it shows. Stay away from Nick please. Maybe Sally could get pregnant again??? I like Summer with Chance too. Let Kyle get a slap wake up call colluding with Audra and Tucker, can’t wait for that storyline. Victoria, woo hoo, finally got what was to coming. Let her start back in the mailroom.

  10. Sharon is too old for Chance. Let him find fresh lasting love with Summer. And I agree with Felicia and Janet – Victoria is spoiled, entitled, and….she needs a reality check that the world is not hers to sling around. Nate needs to reconcile with his own family.

  11. Victoria, Nikki and Nick all need to be smacked! Sick of them ganging up on and threatening Adam. And hey Nick, Victoria bicker your ass out of your job for her bed buddy! All of you need a time out! Let Adam SHINE for a change! And Sharon IS too old for Chance !

  12. What I think and honest. I think Nate fighting two wars his relationship with Victoria or cut ties with the Newman’s and join his family company the only person in his way is Victoria. Victoria don’t want to lose him to another company to join his family. Aura Charles find out about Victor firing Nate and confront Nikki Newman about it and tell Nikki why would Victor Newman do it. Sharon see Summer Newman holding hands with Chance. Sharon reaction is what she doing here she supposed to be at work. Sharon gonna walk in surprised Summer.

  13. I hate that Cricket showed back up in town. Sorry but I just can’t like her. I’ve watched since she was a teenager and still can’t feel anything for her. Hate that she spoiled things for Phyllus
