Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Mamie revealed to Nate she’s the mystery investor, and Victor told Adam he’ll be Nate’s assistant.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis is on the phone with Tucker. She tells him she wants her final payment for the job she did for him.
Tucker says there’s been a slight delay. He’s sure it’s just a simple misunderstanding, and tells her to come to his suite and they’ll clear things up.
Phyllis hangs up and runs into Billy on her way out.
Billy says her call sounded a little intense… Is she okay?
Phyllis says she’s fine.
Billy tells her not to kid a kidder… What’s going on?
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Audra walks up to Tucker in the dining room and asks how the revenge business is these days… Has he planned his attack on Jabot and the Abbotts yet?
Tucker looks around and asks her to say it a little louder.
Audra says there’s nobody around… Has he sprung his secret weapon yet?
Tucker says everything’s in place.
Audra figures there’s a snag.
Tucker says it’s nothing he can’t handle.
Jabot Cosmetics
In the boardroom, Jack tells Diane that Mamie showed up and told him she was settling old debts.
Diane says it sounds ominous.
Jack says Mamie changed the subject, but he’s sure that whatever Mamie is up to, it has nothing to do with them.
Emily, Jack’s assistant, brings in a tablet to Jack. She tells him that the financial team red-flagged a transaction.
Jack looks at the tablet with a worried expression on his face.
Society
Chance walks up to Summer and says good morning.
Summer laughs and asks why he’s in such a great mood.
Chance says it’s not official yet, but Summer is looking at the new chief of police!
Summer is happy for him and gives him a big hug.
Chance thanks her and says he was going to celebrate with Sharon, but she’s out of town. Guess he’s going to have to toast alone.
Summer says that doesn’t sound like a celebration; it’s more like a surrender. She asks to buy him lunch, and they can toast him together.
Chance says she doesn’t have to do that.
Summer insists, saying it’s a big deal and should be celebrated properly.
Newman Enterprises
Nick tells his mom that he spoke with Victoria, and she’s hell-bent that their father isn’t fit to run Newman.
Nikki says it’s insane… Victoria can’t do this!
Nick says Victor gave Victoria plenty of ammunition to work with.
Nikki says it sounds like Nick is in agreement that Victor is incompetent.
Nick says Victoria is more angry than she is concerned, but he needs to know what Nikki thinks… Do they need to be worried about Victor?
Nikki says she’s worried, but not about Victor’s mental health… He’s as sharp as ever.
Nick asks what she’s worried about.
Nikki says they need to worry about Victor taking on more work because Victoria might stir up more conflict. She says Newman Enterprises was Victor’s first baby, and he’ll hang onto it until the stress kills him.
Nick asks if that’s what Nikki is afraid of.
Nikki says she knows Victor, and he thinks he can conquer the world, but he’s just a man who gets tired and disappointed sometimes. He just wants to know that what he built will outlast him and keep growing. It’s his legacy, and she thinks that sometimes Victoria loses sight of that, but if Nick were to return…
Nick interrupts her and tells her that the last thing he wants to do is to get between Nate and Adam while they mark their territory.
Nikki holds her temples and says she couldn’t believe it when Victor made Adam Nate’s assistant.
Nick smirks and says he thought it was funny.
Nikki says Adam’s comeuppance was deserved, but it’s a ticking time bomb.
Nick asks what he can do to help other than coming back to work at Newman.
Nikki tells Nick to speak to his father and make up his own mind. They have to keep an eye on it as a family.
Victor stands in the doorway and asks, “Keep an eye on what?”
Crimson Lights
Phyllis tells Billy she’s looking for a job and has had a lot of doors shut in her face… The call he overheard is another one.
Billy says he’s sorry to hear that.
Phyllis chuckles and asks if he’s really sorry to hear it.
Billy says he’s been to the bottom of the barrel a few times, and it’s not fun.
Phyllis agrees.
Billy figures she’s been left high and dry after Sharon, Nick, and Adam’s company plans blew up.
Phyllis says she’ll land on her feet. She walks into the dining room to place an order, and Billy follows her.
Billy says the timing of things has to be really tough for her. She has legal fees and an insurance payback to make… How is Phyllis to pay it off?
Phyllis says she appreciates Billy’s concern.
Billy says he’s just trying to be a friend.
Phyllis says she doesn’t think Billy gives a damn about her or her finances. She tells him to stop with his fake sympathy act and ask her what he really wants to know.
Jabot Cosmetics
Diane asks Jack what’s wrong… Sounds like bad news.
Jack says there was a large money transfer out of their R&D fund into an account that’s tied to an old lab subdivision.
Diane asks if the transfer was unauthorized.
Jack says someone had to sign off on it. The division was inactive since Ashley came back to Jabot, and the account wasn’t active until now.
Diane asks who okayed the payment.
Jack says it was his brother. Billy.
Society
Chance and Summer place their order with the waitstaff. He says he’s more excited about his promotion than he thought he would be, and is happy to be able to share the news with Summer.
Summer says she’s glad too… Now she knows who to call when she gets a parking ticket.
Chance says Summer gets the friends and family discount.
Summer says she won’t hit him up for a favor if her mom does anything crazy.
Chance says it feels surreal to be called “Chief”. He’s responsible for a bunch of officers that will be looking to him for guidance. He says that Sharon convinced him he could do it.
Summer says it’s new and a big change. He’s obviously the right person for the job.
Chance smiles.
Crimson Lights
Billy says Phyllis must be scared. She owes a lot of money, and she makes bad choices when her back’s up against the wall… Bad choices like getting involved with Tucker.
Phyllis says that he should be a fortune teller… He got all that from the little bit of the conversation he overheard.
Billy says she didn’t answer the question… What’s up with Tucker?
Phyllis asks why Billy thinks she’s involved with Tucker.
Billy says he’s seen them together a few times, and he gets the vibe that they’re cooking something up that’s illegal.
Phyllis says maybe they’re having an affair.
Billy says Phyllis has better taste than that.
Phyllis smirks and says, “Do I, Billy?”
Billy says Tucker’s using her for very specific reasons, and if she’s as broke as he thinks, she could be convinced to help Tucker out. His phone pings. It’s Jack. “Come to Jabot immediately.”
Newman Enterprises
Nick walks into Victor’s office and closes the door behind him.
Victor says he’s surprised to see Nick there; he thought he was busy building an empire with Sharon.
Nick says that Victoria is worried about Victor’s health and mental capacity.
Victor asks if Nick thinks he’s lost his grip.
Nick says he doesn’t, but he’s been questioning his father’s judgment lately, especially the part where he assigned Adam to be Nate’s assistant.
Victor says Adam wanted to start at the bottom and work his way up, so he accommodated his request.
Nick says it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
Victor asks Nick if he can think of a better way to find out Adam’s sincerity.
Nick says Adam isn’t sincere. It’s all an act, and he’s conning Victor… Again.
Victor says Nick’s opinion is duly noted. Why does Nick care?
Nick says he cares about Victor and the family. There are three scenarios he can imagine… Either Nate is using Adam to get what he wants, or Adam is using Nate to get what he wants. In the third “doomsday” scenario, Nate and Adam team up and come after Victor, and he never sees it coming.
The GCAC Dining Room
Nikki enters the club and sees Audra and Tucker talking.
Nikki walks over and says hello to Tucker and Audra. She says she heard Tucker was back in town, and it appears he’s without Ashley this time.
Tucker says it’s always a pleasure to see Nikki and tells Audra he’ll talk to her later when he has more information. He leaves the dining room.
Nikki tells Audra it’s not in her best interest to have any relationship with Tucker.
Jabot Cosmetics
Billy walks into the boardroom and asks what’s up.
Jack hands him the tablet and asks him why he transferred funds without running it by him first.
Billy says he didn’t.
Jack says it shows that he did authorize the transfer.
Billy says he can see that, but he didn’t authorize anything. He asks why he’d do that since they no longer use that lab.
Jack says someone moved the money.
Billy asks if Jack’s calling him a liar.
Jack says he’s not.
Billy says it’s good to know Jack doesn’t think he’s a thief.
Jack says someone is setting it up to look like Billy’s embezzling money. They have to figure out who it is before they get hit again.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Tucker thinks back to his conversation with Phyllis; he asked her to transfer funds and changed the terms of their agreement. She’d called him a bastard.
There’s a knock at the door. It’s Phyllis, and she walks in, saying she did what he asked and wants the rest of her money.
Tucker says she didn’t quite do what he wanted. She hacked into Jabot’s R&D account and transferred the money into a dormant account authorized by Billy, but she was supposed to transfer the money into his personal account.
Phyllis says she must have misunderstood Tucker.
Tucker says she’s made things more complicated.
Phyllis says she can move the money with one touch of a key.
Tucker tells her to do it.
Phyllis says she wants her money first. Didn’t he think she would protect herself? She wasn’t just going to hand him the key to the vault.
Tucker says he’s hurt she doesn’t trust him.
Phyllis says nobody trusts him. She’s also set up some triggers in case he decides to stiff her.
Tucker asks what she’s done.
Phyllis says if she isn’t paid, money will get transferred into Tucker’s account… In his name.
Tucker thinks she’s bluffing. He was watching her the entire time.
Phyllis says he was, but he hired the best… And she’s the best at what she does. She holds all the cards.
Tucker nods. What does she want?
Phyllis says she wants the $1.1 million he owes her plus an extra 20% for aggravating her.
Tucker laughs and says he has to hand it to her… She’s a work of art when it comes to playing all the angles. She’s clever and persistent, and they make a good team.
Phyllis says there’s no way in hell they’d ever be a team.
Tucker says he could make her a part of his team, and this little “stunt” would look like child’s play compared to what he has planned.
Phyllis says she only did this job to land on her feet again. She’s done.
Tucker asks what she’s going to do next.
Phyllis says she’s going to change her life. She promised her kids that she would. She says she’s disgusted because she was part of anything to do with Tucker, but now she’s done her part, and they’re over with.
Tucker says Phyllis is so negative. It’s very disappointing. He thinks Phyllis will burn through the money and then be back in the game again, looking for her next sucker. She’s foolish to think she could change her nature.
Phyllis says she’d rather die than be that person.
Tucker pulls out his phone and transfers the money to her account. He says it’s her turn to finish things.
Phyllis pulls out her laptop. She logs in and transfers the money to Billy’s personal account. She closes her laptop and goes to leave.
Tucker tells her to wait… They’re not finished yet.
Newman Enterprises
Victor tells Nick that there’s only one way to solve the problem with Adam and Nate… It’s time for Nick to return to Newman Enterprises and help support his family.
Nick says he’s not coming back.
Victor says he wants the whole family to work together at Newman Enterprises.
Nick thinks Victor created the chaos at Newman to get Nick back to work at the company.
Victor says it might be true, but Nick pointed out a problem and Victor gave a solution to that problem, but Nick thinks it’s emotional blackmail. He says the meeting is over.
Nick leaves the office.
The GCAC Dining Room
Audra tells Nikki she doesn’t need to worry about Tucker. They used to work together, and they’re casual friends, nothing more. He’s brilliant and infuriating but often misunderstood.
Nikki says there’s nothing to be misunderstood about Tucker. He’s a menace who creates chaos for his own enjoyment, which Ashley must have finally realized.
Audra asks what happened between Tucker and Ashley.
Nikki says she has some theories but doesn’t want to get into it. She says that Audra’s affair with Kyle and her friendship with Tucker makes her question Audra’s judgment.
Audra says she ended her relationship with Kyle on Nikki’s orders. Is she ordering her to stop her friendship with Tucker, too? Maybe she should give Nikki a list of everyone she’s acquainted with so she can vet it.
Nikki thinks that’s a bit extreme.
Audra says it feels like Nikki wants to control every facet of her life, professionally and personally. She’s curious why.
Nikki assures Audra that her private life is her own as long as it doesn’t include anything that would harm Newman Media. She’s only warning Audra about Tucker for her own good.
Audra says she can hold her own against anything Tucker throws her way.
Nikki says it sounds like she’s already dealt with Tucker’s dark side.
Audra says they don’t always agree on things, but Tucker has been her mentor more than anything else. He taught her a lot.
Nikki asks if Tucker is still teaching her. She says that Tucker mentioned he’d talk to Audra when he had more information to share… What was that about, and what kind of mentoring is he doing?
Society
Nick enters the restaurant and sees Chance and Summer finishing their lunch. He walks up to the table and greets them by hugging his daughter and shaking Chance’s hand.
Chance says he’s got to leave; he’s got a news conference to get to.
Nick asks what the news conference is about.
Chance grins and says Summer will fill him in. He leaves.
Nick sits down with Summer. He gives her a look.
Summer asks him what the look is about.
Nick says that he didn’t know she was close with Chance.
Summer says she’s not sure if they’re “close”, but they’re friends, and he was there for her when she was going through things with her mom… And they’re friends, nothing more.
Nick says Summer just reminded him of Phyllis… How are things going between Summer and her mom?
Summer says she’s forgiven her mom, and they’re working things out. She asks if Nick will ever forgive Phyllis.
Nick says he’s avoided Phyllis since she got out of jail because he’s afraid of what he might say to her.
Summer says her mom needs a job.
Nick asks her if she’s asking him to offer Phyllis a job.
Summer says Phyllis was going to work with him when Adam was involved, so there might still be a place for her when he gets over being angry with her.
Nick says Phyllis could declare bankruptcy before he got over his anger with her.
Summer says Phyllis needs a job so she can focus on something. She’s a hard worker.
Nick asks if Summer is getting a 10% cut for this.
Summer says Nick can just call it a favor to his daughter, or call it a smart business decision. She knows there must be a place for Phyllis in his company.
Nick says he’s not sure. He’ll talk to Sharon but won’t make any promises.
Summer thanks him and asks how things are between him and Sharon.
Nick says they’ve settled into a nice working relationship.
Summer says she’s happy for him and hopes things work out for them both.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Phyllis tells Tucker their business is finished. She’s leaving.
Tucker tells her not to forget her daughter.
Phyllis says her daughter has no part in this.
Tucker says she doesn’t, but she’ll eventually need a new job.
Phyllis says Summer has a job at Marchetti.
Tucker says when he takes over Jabot, he will get it back to the basics… Cosmetics, scents, etc. He doesn’t see a place for fashion in Jabot.
Phyllis says he’s not going to do it. She’ll warn Jack and tell him everything Tucker’s done.
Tucker says she won’t because she knows all the dominos would fall over if she did that. If he goes down, she goes down, too, and Phyllis is on probation.
Phyllis says Tucker thinks he has it all worked out.
Tucker says Phyllis is good at the game, but he’s better. He tells her to watch her step and not make any threats that she can’t back up. Also, he didn’t include the 20% “aggravation” fee in her payment. She should be happy he’s not charging her the fee for the aggravation he gets from her.
Phyllis leaves.
The GCAC Dining Room
Audra tells Nikki that Tucker was getting her feedback on an idea he’s developing.
Nikki says it’d better not be media-related.
Audra says Tucker is thinking of getting back into the music business, but touring is where the money is, and she’s not seeing the upside.
Nikki says she likes Audra; she’s talented and smart. She could have quite the career.
Audra says she enjoys working with Nikki too but doesn’t like to feel crowded or controlled.
Nikki says she’s sorry to hear that, but Audra should think about it as Nikki wanting to become Audra’s new mentor.
Audra says she hadn’t thought of it that way.
Nikki says she’ll never achieve her goals if she keeps looking back.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack gets an alert on his phone from the financial team. The funds have been moved from one account to another.
Billy asks what account it went into.
Jack says that there’s no name attached, just the account number.
Diane wonders who could be doing it.
Billy says it’s Phyllis… He saw her with Tucker and could tell something was going on.
Diane asks how Phyllis could even know how to do it.
Billy says she’s a genius with computers and needs money fast.
Jack says Billy’s right.
Billy says that Phyllis and Tucker are working together to come after them. This is only the first of many attacks.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Tucker’s phone rings. He starts a video call with Leanna Love and thanks her for calling him back.
Leanna says she’d be happier if Tucker gave her the scoop on what’s happening between him and Ashley Abbott.
Tucker laughs and says they’re working things out. He says he’s heard a rumor about Billy Abbott, however.
Leanna says she’s all ears.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis is on the phone with the insurance company. She confirms that they received her money transfer and she doesn’t owe anything more to them. She finishes the call.
Danny Romalotti sits beside her at the bar and says it looks like she’s lost her best friend.

Y&R is the best!!!
Wow things r really movin on Y&R
True
I know Devone is happy to have has father with him but he’s more trouble than they need, Phillis is still the same old person messing up things for innocent people like Billy, I’m glad Jack got info from Adam to take Tucker down, send him away like Ashley.
Wow things are really moving on Y&R! Y&R is the best! Is anyone really liking these fabrications? Or is people getting paid to post fake comments? Every storyline is bogus. Every plot and unsolved mystery. There is no creativity whatsoever. ALL the actors are running around in circles playing kid games for a paycheck. That’s it!
Enjoy reading what I missed, because of knee surgery. Thank you!
I hope they don’t put Nick& Sharon back together been there to many times leave him with Sally or someone else thank you
