Victor looks at Victoria.
CBS

Victor says her office has walls.

Victoria says that’s not the point. It’s the symbolism, and she thinks it wasn’t a business decision; there was a personal, punishing element to him replacing her as the head of the company, and she doesn’t know what she did to deserve it.

Society

Diane asks Jack why he’s worried about Billy talking to Devon.

Diane talks to Jack.
CBS

Jack says that Billy could warn Devon that they’re going after Tucker, even though he told Billy that was a bad idea. He says that Tucker’s a bad seed, and they must keep their plans close to their chest to find out what Tucker has planned. He stalks over to talk to Billy and Devon.

Devon says hello to Jack.

Jack asks if he can have a moment alone with his brother.

Jack talks to Billy.
CBS

Jack says that’s not how he remembers it.

Billy says of course it isn’t, because Jack never listens to him.

Jack says Billy shouldn’t try to turn Devon against his father.

Billy Abbott.
CBS

Billy says he only told Devon the truth, and if that creates distance between him and Tucker, it will only help them.

Jack asks how much Billy told Devon.

Billy says he told Devon that Ashley had said that Tucker had lashed out at her because she didn’t want to follow through with their business plan. Devon was concerned about it.

Jack talks to Billy.
CBS

Jack says that Devon didn’t look too concerned.

Billy says he planted a seed and reminded Devon of who his father is and what he’s capable of, and he won’t apologize for it.

Newman Enterprises

Victor tells Victoria that the changes he’s made did not reflect her work; he thought she was doing a wonderful job and wants to lean on her going forward.

Victoria Newman.
CBS

Victoria says that sounds like a press release for someone he recently demoted.

Victor says it’s not about her… It’s about the company, which has become fractured and broken.

CBS

Victor says when he handed the company over to Victoria and her brothers, he hoped she’d create a united front, but that never happened. Now he has to step in, clean things up, and run the company again, or Victoria and her brother would be at each other’s throats, and Nicholas would leave the company again.

Victoria says that Nick has already left, and it was Victor’s fault, not hers or Adam’s.

Lily’s Penthouse Apartment

Lily and Devon talk.
CBS

Devon wonders if Victor’s playing games with them.

Lily says it makes her nervous and feels like they won’t like the person they’re doing business with.

Devon asks if she has any guesses as to who it might be.

Devon and Lily talk.
CBS

Lily says that Victor said that the person approached Victor, not the other way around, so it seems that they have a personal interest in owning a piece of Chancellor-Winters. She thinks it must be Tucker.

Devon asks why she thinks Tucker is the mystery investor.

Lily says she knows how Tucker operates. When he’s angry, he likes to burn bridges, and he’s angry right now.

Lily talks to Devon.
CBS

Devon wonders how it would harm the company since it’s such a small investment. It’s not a controlling interest.

Lily says it looks like Tucker’s targeting Jabot again, and if he’s doing that, maybe he’s also gone back to his original plans for Chancellor-Winters.

Devon doesn’t believe Tucker would go behind his back again.

Devon Hamilton-Winters.
CBS

Lily says she’s not as inclined to give Tucker the benefit of the doubt as Devon is.

Tucker understands. He says that he talked with Billy, and Jack and Billy think the same thing that Lily does… That Tucker is more dangerous now than ever.

Society

Jack tells Billy that just because he’s planted a seed doesn’t mean anything will grow. For all they know, Devon could be on his way to Tucker to let him know the Abbott brothers are after him.

Jack talks with Billy.
CBS

Billy says Tucker already knows they’re on high alert. Maybe if he hears it from Devon, it’ll rattle Tucker’s cage, and he’ll show his hand.

Jack asks if Billy’s okay with dropping Devon and Abby in the middle of this mess. He says that it’s their fight, not Devon and Abby’s.

Billy says that Jack thinks they’re manipulating Devon, but they’re not. He’s only reminding Devon of Tucker’s true nature. He sees no downside there.

Billy talks to Jack.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Kyle sits down on the cafe’s patio and thinks back to the times he’d met with Audra as they carried on their affairs and how they’d agreed to keep their relationship a secret.

Audra had told him she didn’t want to lose what they had, and she loved the danger of keeping it a secret… But then, she seemed to pull away from him later. (unknown to him, she had slept with Tucker).

Kyle sips coffee as he thinks.
CBS

Nikki asks Audra about Kyle.

Audra says that it was strictly a business discussion.

Nikki talks to Audra.

Audra says she won’t deny that, but Nikki has clarified her position, and Audra doesn’t want to cross those lines.

Nikki says she appreciates that but isn’t sure Kyle can show the same restraint. She has a sense that Kyle has a wild streak to him, not unlike Jack when he was younger. She says that Kyle’s breakup with Summer was probably why Kyle was drawn to Audra in the first place.

Audra and Nikki talk.
CBS

Audra asks what she’s saying.

Nikki thinks it’s best to let Kyle go from Newman Media.

Audra says she thinks Nikki’s overreacting. Kyle won’t be a problem.

Nikki looks at Audra.
CBS

Nikki says she’s concerned about Audra as well. She knows they’re carrying on in secret even though she told her she wanted the relationship to end.

Audra says it has ended.

Nikki says it hasn’t; she can see it in Kyle’s eyes when he looks at her. Audra needs to know she’s on thin ice… Nikki was going to fire them both, but she decided to remove the temptation and give Audra one more chance. She says it’s Audra’s final warning.

Audra looks at Nikki.
CBS

Audra says she understands.

Nikki says she’ll let Audra tell Kyle about his termination and suggests doing it sooner rather than later. She leaves the club.

Lily’s Apartment

Lily says she’s not the only one worried about Tucker.

Devon and Lily talk.
CBS

Devon says that Billy and Jack don’t know if anything is going on with Tucker.

Lily asks what exactly Billy said.

Devon says Billy had told him to keep his eyes open because he thought Tucker was up to something. Nothing specific was said; it sounded like Billy was trying to recruit him in case something bad happened.

Lily looks at Devon.
CBS

Lily asks what Devon said to Billy.

Devon says he just listened, thanked Billy for the heads-up, and then Jack walked over, and it got weird; neither seemed happy with the other. Nothing was said about Chancellor-Winters or anything that involved them.

Lily says that Tucker knows how to fight wars on several fronts.

Devon looks at Lily.
CBS

Devon says they still don’t have any proof of whether Tucker is the mystery investor.

Lily wonders why Victor would do it to them and Jill.

Devon says he doesn’t think Tucker would try another sneak attack, knowing it would ruin their relationship.

Lily talks to Devon.
CBS

Lily says whatever is happening, they have to figure it out. She doesn’t like the idea that the investor wants to remain anonymous, which can’t benefit them.

Devon says Lily is jumping to conclusions.

Lily says it’s got to be complicated for Devon; he wants to trust Tucker. It may not be Tucker but don’t underestimate what he might be capable of.

Devon listens to Lily.
CBS

Newman Enterprises

Victor asks Victoria if she’s blaming him for the company’s malfunction.

Victoria says that Victor is shuffling the deck, and everybody is trying to figure out where they fit into his scheme.

Victor sits behind his desk.
CBS

Victor says he told all three of his children what was expected of them.

Victoria says he expects everyone to fall in line.

Victor says a company of this size is not run by consensus. One person and one person alone runs it… Victor Newman.

Victoria talks to her dad.
CBS

Victoria asks why Victor bothers to keep her around.

Victor says he doesn’t want to argue about it. This is how it is. Period.

Victoria says not in her opinion.

Victor talks.
CBS

Victor says her opinion is not relevant.

Victoria says he just proved her point.

Victor says Newman Enterprises is bigger than Victoria or her feelings. Either she accepts it, or she can leave.

Victoria angrily talks to Victor.
CBS

Nikki comes to the office door and looks in with alarm as Victoria and Victor argue.

Victoria says Victor wants to throw her out of his “kingdom” if she disagrees with him.

Victor says that’s her choice.

Nikki comes into the office.
CBS

Victoria says if she left, everything would fall apart.

Victor asks what the hell she means by that.

Nikki comes in and asks what’s happening; she can hear them down the hall.

Victor folds his arms as he talks to Victoria.
CBS

Victor says that Victoria is insinuating that he can no longer run his company.

Victoria says that’s not true. She was questioning some of his decisions; aren’t they allowed to challenge him?

Victor says he won’t tolerate insubordination.

Nikki says they should calm down before someone says something they’ll regret.

Victor says he’s said all he needs to say.

Nikki says it’s premature to talk about the changes; they won’t even take place for a few weeks. She says that she and Victor will take a vacation first, and there will be plenty of time to sort things out to everyone’s satisfaction.

Victoria looks at Victor.
CBS

Victoria says that works for her.

Victor says it doesn’t work for him. Changes in both of his companies need to be finalized immediately.

Nikki says that’s not what they talked about.

Victor yells that he doesn’t give a damn. It’s his decision, and that’s what will happen.

Victor points to himself as he talks.
CBS

Chancellor Park

Kyle meets Audra in the park. He asks what happened between her and Nikki.

Audra says Nikki knows about them.

Kyle talks to Audra.
CBS

Kyle says it’s impossible; they were very careful.

Audra says they weren’t careful enough. She figured out that they were seeing each other despite telling them not to, and figured that if they kept working together, the attraction wouldn’t just go away.

Kyle asks how Nikki knew.

Audra pushes Kyle back.
CBS

Audra says Nikki said she could see it in Kyle’s eyes.

Kyle says he is attracted to her and wants to kiss her every time he sees her; there’s no denying it. He moves in to kiss her, but Audra pushes him away. He asks why she’s acting this way.

Audra says they can’t keep doing this… Hasn’t he been listening?

Kyle is surprised by Audra pushing him away.
CBS

Kyle says he’ll keep his “business face” on at the office and be more careful when they’re in public.

Audra says it’s too late for that. Nikki told Audra to fire Kyle. Audra tried to change her mind, but it was too late… Nikki had already made up her mind.

Kyle is shocked. “Are you kidding me?”

Audra says it doesn’t matter why… It’s over, and she’s sorry. She leaves the park.

Kyle watches Audra leave.
CBS

Billy looks at Diane.
CBS

CBS

Lily’s Apartment

Lily asks Devon if he’s mad at her.

Devon says he’s not mad.

Lily talks to Devon.
CBS

Lily says she loves Devon. They’re on the same team.

Devon says he loves her, too; he doesn’t think Tucker is “their guy.” Even if he were, he would have no say in the company because he’s just an investor.

Lily wishes she had Devon’s confidence. She doesn’t like surprises, and neither does Jill. They have to get to the bottom of it, and no matter what, she still thinks Tucker is the mystery investor.

Devon looks at Lily.
CBS

Victoria says she only asked him how he could upend the lives of those he cares for.

Nikki says that Victor loves her… She can’t question that.

Nikki and Victoria.
CBS

Victoria says he loves them when they obey but not when they cross him. She asks if Nikki heard him tell her she could leave the company.

Nikki says Victor didn’t mean it.

Victoria says he keeps changing the rules, which will only worsen. What will it take for Nikki to agree they’re headed in the wrong direction for the family and the company? How long can she ignore what’s happening to Victor?

Victoria and Nikki talk.
CBS

The GCAC Dining Room

Kyle sits at the bar. He lifts a glass to himself and says, “Here’s to being unemployed again!”

5 thoughts on “Y&R Recap – Thu Sep 21: Victor Tells Victoria to Leave Newman, While Nikki Forces Audra to Fire Kyle”

  1. Tucker doesn’t have the capital reason to invest in CW & Jabott?
His plan with Phyllis will implode…
…Eventually he will have to fight with Ashley…then make her CEO? FINALLY!

  2. Strikes sounds may be ending. New story lines needed. People in bars drinking guring busness hrs or in bed having sex. It’s not love. No morals or work ethic.
This is so old. Has gone on way too long! Boring. Same day after day.

  3. I’m so sick and tired of Jack trying to boss Billy around. Will Jack ever stop trying to be a father to his grown siblings? Jack doesn’t always know best. He’s not the only one that have the best interest in the family business.
