Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Sally dreamed about Adam and confessed to Nick that she’s not in love with him, while Nate gave Adam a warning.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane enters the house and tells Kyle she was going to work from home and thought that she’d have some time with Harrison. She asks if Kyle has some time to sit and talk with her and asks if he has any job leads.
Kyle says he hasn’t heard anything yet.
Diane knows that Kyle is only interested in taking a job at Jabot if he gets the co-CEO position.
Kyle says that Jack told him that he might be replacing Billy soon.
Diane says that Billy talked his way into staying.
Kyle laughs and says of course he did.
Diane says Billy feeds Jack’s “dark impulses,” and she had told Jack that she didn’t think it was the best idea that he and Billy work so closely together.
Kyle doesn’t want Jack to give him his old job back because Diane badgered him into it.
Jabot Cosmetics
Billy and Jack talk about their marketing strategy, and Billy tells Jack that he’d talked with Tucker and let him know they knew about the singer and the coverup and were willing to use that information if necessary.
Jack asks how Tucker reacted.
Billy says Tucker was nonchalant.
Jack says he doesn’t buy Tucker’s act.
Billy says he doesn’t either… He thinks Tucker is in a panic.
Society
Nikki tells Audra it was a productive lunch.
Audra says she thinks so, too.
Nikki says she’s happy to have a new assistant.
Audra is glad Nikki thinks Claire will be a good addition to the team.
Tucker walks up to Audra and says he needs to speak to her in private… Right now.
Nikki looks at Audra and shakes her head in disapproval.
Audra tells Tucker that she can’t talk now and leaves the restaurant. Nikki follows after her and doesn’t give Tucker a look.
Tucker sits down at the bar and sends Adam a text message. “You will regret this.”
Newman Enterprises
Adam gets Tucker’s message and smiles. He enters Victor’s office and says hello to his father. He asks whether Victor was serious when he said everything was falling into place with the family.
Victor says he never says anything he doesn’t mean.
Adam says that Victor thinks he can’t be trusted, especially when it comes to Victoria, but he’s not the one that Victor should be worried about.
Chancellor Park
Nick is angry. He can’t believe that Adam kissed Sally. He asks if Adam took advantage of her and says he’ll rip his head off.
Sally says she didn’t mean to blurt it out like that, and it wasn’t a big deal.
Nick is incredulous. His brother kissing his girlfriend isn’t a big deal?!
Sally says she had dinner with Adam. They met each other “spontaneously” at the club and decided they should eat together. It was a friendly, innocent dinner. They had too much to drink, and Adam asked to walk her to her suite after dinner, which she accepted.
Nick asks if that’s when Adam kissed her.
Sally nods. She says he kissed her goodnight, but he regretted it right away and said he was sorry.
Nick says Adam just took advantage of the fact that he was out of town.
Sally says that’s not what happened. Adam seemed to really feel bad afterward.
Nick says that’s how Adam operates. He asks what happened then… Did Adam say he still loved her or that he thought they still belonged together?
Sally says nothing and Nick sighs.
Newman Enterprises
Adam pours himself a drink and asks Victor if he’d seen through Victoria’s act.
Victor says he’s not worried about Victoria, Nate, or Adam.
Adam tells his father he’s not looking closely enough.
Victor says he runs the place, and if a problem raises its head, he’ll take care of it. If anyone is disloyal to him or to Newman Enterprises… He makes a throat-cutting gesture.
The GCAC Dining Room
Victoria and Nate are seated at a table. Victoria asks Nate what happened with her father after she left the meeting.
Nate says that Adam seems wary of Adam’s turnaround.
Victoria says she though Victor was being bamboozled by Adam’s story of a turnaround. She still thinks something’s off with Victor lately. She asks what he said.
Nate says Victor is skeptical that Adam wants to start at the bottom and do what he’s told.
Victoria is happy to hear that her father isn’t buying into it.
Nate says he was worried as well.
Victoria is relieved.
Nate says Victor not only doubts Adam but doubts that Victoria accepted his decisions the way she claimed to. He says Victor is suspicious of her motives and asks if she’s accepted Victor’s plans for Newman Enterprises and where that leaves her.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane tells Kyle she won’t pressure Jack on his behalf. She says Jack wants Kyle back at Jabot and asks if he’d take any other executive position there like he was offered after he left Marchetti.
Kyle says she’s making it sound like he willingly walked away from Jabot, but Jack essentially fired him by thinking that Summer was more valuable to the company than Kyle.
Diane says that’s not quite true, but they could probably find him an interim position that he could enjoy at the company. He didn’t hear it from her, but Billy is going to be gone soon.
Kyle thinks she might be right. He’s as worried about the harm that Billy could cause Jabot as Ashley was about Diane.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack tells Billy he talked with Phyllis and told her they knew she was working with Tucker to discredit Billy. He clarified that Tucker was trying to create a rift between him and Billy, but it wasn’t working.
Billy asks if she admitted to working with Tucker.
Jack says Phyllis didn’t admit to anything. He’d told her it would go a long way to redeem herself if she could help them figure out what Tucker was planning.
Billy says they can’t trust Phyllis.
Jack says it’s clear that she wants redemption and will do anything to get it. He hopes that Billy’s meeting with Tucker will convince him that he shouldn’t come after them and they won’t need Phyllis, but she may be the weapon they need.

Society
Tucker sits at the bar and thinks back to a meeting with Audra.
Flashback. Tucker told Audra that he’d expected her to clean up the mess surrounding the scandal at McCall.
Audra had told him that she had taken care of it, but had missed his spam folder. The “problem” email contained the following: Singer problem remedied. Hands clean.
Tucker had told her that she’d put them both in jeopardy, and she needed to fix it.
Tucker remembers Billy telling him he’d put the emails to use unless Tucker backed off of Jabot.
Adam walks into the restaurant and sits down with Tucker at the bar, asking why Tucker asked him there… What was Adam going to regret?
Tucker says Adam was supposed to destroy the evidence of what happened at McCall, but instead, he’d sold the information to the highest bidder.
Adam says he did destroy the evidence… Maybe someone made a copy? He asks who the “highest bidder” was that he had supposedly sold the information to.
Tucker says it was Billy Abbott.
Adam feigns ignorance. He says that doesn’t make sense. What does Tucker have that Billy would want so badly?
Tucker says he was content to let Adam live his life. He was going to forget about Adam’s attempts to blackmail him and use Phyllis against him.
Adam says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Tucker tells him to shut up. He says it’s been a long time since they were friends, but now Adam has made him his enemy, and hopes he knows what a monumental mistake that is. He gets up and leaves the restaurant.
The GCAC Dining Room
Victoria tells Nate she’s going along with her father’s wishes… For now. She asks if Nate is becoming Adam’s “best friend” like Victor wants.
Nate says Adam is his assistant, and he’ll treat him as such. He doesn’t plan to give him any meaningful tasks or plan on being friends with him outside the office, even though Adam says he’s determined to earn his trust, which isn’t going to happen.
Victoria says Adam’s lies are predictable. She asks if Victor asked Nate to spy on Victoria and report back to him.
Nate says he didn’t. Victor is focused on Adam, not Victoria.
Victoria thinks that Victor’s trying to get Nate on his side as an ally in case she decides to rebel against him.
Nate wonders why Victor would do that. He’s on Victoria’s side, and she knows it. He’s only trying to insulate Victoria from her father, and if he has to intervene between her and her father to make things run smoothly, that’s the way it is. He asks again if she really meant it when she said she accepted her demotion.
Victoria says she meant it.
Chancellor Park
Sally tells Nick he shouldn’t be making such a big deal of it… The kiss meant nothing to her.
Nick says it meant everything to Adam. He asks how Sally felt after the kiss.
Sally sighs. She thinks back to when Adam kissed her and how awkward it was afterward.
Nick says he won’t judge her. He’s not mad at her but needs to know how she felt.
Sally says she had mixed feelings. The kiss was out of line, but it was hard, knowingthat Adam was in pain because he was in love with her, even though she is in a relationship with Nick.
Nick says a part of Sally is still in love with Adam.
Sally sits down and says she doesn’t know how to answer that. She compares it to Nick’s relationship with Sharon. Even though they haven’t been together for years, it doesn’t mean that the feelings have disappeared.
Nick says it’s not the same thing. She has feelings for Adam, and that’s why she hasn’t been able to fall in love with Nick.
Sally says they’re just friends.
Nick says Sally’s either lying to herself or not admitting the truth… Adam has a hold on her, and maybe he always will.
Sally says she loves what she has with Nick and doesn’t want to feel confused about it, but this is where she’s at, emotionally speaking. She says it doesn’t mean she cares less about Nick and hopes she hasn’t screwed things up between them.
Nick hugs her in response.
Adam walks into the park and sees Nick and Sally hugging.
The GCAC Dining Room
Nate tells Victoria he believes that she’s sincere. He thinks she should be on good terms with her father.
Victoria says keeping the peace is in her best interest.
Nate asks if she still thinks Victor taking her place is a bad move.
Victoria says it is. She can’t believe that Victor brought Adam back to the company. It’s more proof that Victor’s making judgmental errors.
Nate says there’s nothing she can do about it right now.
Victoria says that Nate will be looking out for Adam to try any stunts, and will be on top of it.
Nate says that won’t stop Adam from trying.
Victoria says eventually, Adam will make a move that’s detrimental to the company, but that might be what Victor needs to get to the breaking point.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane tells Kyle she’s Jabot’s Chief Talent Officer and will find the right position for him. Billy will screw things up, and when he does, Kyle will be right there to step back into his place.
Kyle says it sounds good, in theory, but wonders what happens if Billy doesn’t screw up.
Diane says that Kyle will still have a good job at Jabot in that case.
Kyle says he’d rather stay home with Harrison than work in his father’s shadow.
Billy and Jack enter the house. Billy tells Kyle he’s sorry to hear about Newman Media.
Kyle says he was discussing his next steps with Diane.
Jack says they’d be happy to have him return to Jabot.
Kyle says he knows… They’ll see. He leaves the living room.
Jack asks Diane if Kyle is okay.
Newman Enterprises
Victor thinks back to his conversation with Victoria, where she’d told him she accepted his company changes. He’d said he was glad she accepted the changes because he would have fired her if she fought with him about it.
Nikki walks in, and they kiss and hug in greeting.
Victor says he needed the mid-day kisses. He asks how Nikki’s day is.
Nikki says she’s doing great. She tells him that she hired a new assistant who will greatly benefit Newman Media. She asks if Victor talked with Victoria.
Victor says he did, and they had an interesting conversation. He says that Victoria had a change of heart and will try working within the new corporate structure.
Nikki asks if Victor believes her.
Victor laughs and says, “Hope springs eternal.”
Nikki says she’s still unsure if Victoria and Adam working together will work out, especially with Adam in a subordinate position.
Victor asks if Nikki is more concerned that Victor is resuming his full-time position at Newman.
Nikki says she is concerned about that.
Chancellor Park
Adam walks up to Sally and Nick as they hug and says hello to them both. He says their new venture must be doing well if they have time for a romantic picnic in the park.
Nick tells Adam to keep walking… He doesn’t want to hear another word from him.
Adam tells Nick that he should just let go of what happened at McCall-Kirsten.
Nick says he’s not in the mood to let go of anything that Adam’s done.
Newman Enterprises
Victor tells Nikki that the office is the best place for him.
Nikki says she’s worried about the toll the stress and long hours will take on him. She wanted him to take a relaxing trip with her before he came back, but he shot her down.
Victor asks why she’d be bringing this up… Doesn’t he look healthy?
Nikki says he looks very healthy and handsome, but neither should bring any more stress to their lives. She mentions that her MS gets worse with stress, and Victor’s had health issues in the past. She’s determined to care for Victor like he’s cared for her all these years.
Victor smiles and hugs her again. He says she’s always taken care of him.
Nikki says she wants him to be with her for a very long time.
Victor says he wants that, too, but he feels good. He loves the stress and loves wheeling and dealing. It makes him feel alive, and he sees his children daily while working alongside them… Much better than sitting at the ranch as a “man of leisure.”
Nikki laughs and says Victor has never been a man of leisure.
Victor says that’s what he’s saying.
Nikki says Victor can watch as his children fight every single day… Where’s the fun in that?
Victor says that’s going to stop. No more in-fighting.
Victoria is in the hallway outside the office and stops, listening as Victor and Nikki talk.
Victor says he will whip the children and the company into shape until Nick decides to return.
Chancellor Park
Adam tells Nick he thought they’d put their failed partnership behind them. Nick’s moved on and works with Sharon, and Adam works at Newman.
Nick says it’s not about that, and Adam knows it.
Adam says he feels like he’s missing something.
Nick says Adam only brings trouble. He tells him to stay away from everyone Nick cares about.
Sally says Adam should leave.
Adam figures out that Sally told Nick about the kiss.
The Abbott Mansion
Billy leaves the house, asking Jack to update him if he hears from Phyllis.
Diane asks Jack why he’s the one to deal with Phyllis instead of Billy.
Jack says he doesn’t want to talk about that right now… They need to focus on Kyle. He asks why Diane doesn’t think Kyle is okay.
Diane says she thinks Kyle has lost his purpose. He thinks he’ll be in his father’s shadow.
Jack says he doesn’t know what he can do. He’s asked Kyle to come back to Jabot repeatedly.
Kyle stands at the top of the stairs, listening as they talk.
Diane says Kyle needs to know that they value him, not just as their son, but as part of the company.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Tucker enters Audra’s suite and tells her he hopes she blew him off just for Nikki’s sake.
Audra says it was. She doesn’t take kindly to Nikki telling her how to live her life, but she’s her boss and needs Nikki to think she’s listening to her.
Tucker says that’s smart. They have a bigger problem, and Audra needs to help him solve it.
Audra asks what Tucker’s talking about.
Tucker says the evidence from the cover-up is back in play.
Audra wonders how that could be… Adam was supposed to have destroyed the evidence.
Tucker says that Adam must have changed his mind… He’s sold the information to the Abbotts.
Audra says Adam must have ruined Tucker’s plans to go after Jabot… What’s Tucker going to do now?
