Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Billy defended himself against Tucker’s onslaught, while Jack urged Phyllis to retaliate.
Adam meets with Nate at the GCAC and tells him there’s coffee coming.
Nate thought they’d meet to discuss how their arrangement will work.
Adam picks up a pen and asks how he likes his coffee.
“Cream, sugar… And is there a paper that you read first thing in the morning?”
Nate tells him to can the attitude.
He wants to set ground rules and expectations.
Adam thinks Nate feels good having power over him. Adam backs down.
Nate asks why he’s okay with this situation since he has more business acumen.
Adam blames himself for asking for a new beginning but claims he is determined to follow through.
Nate says this wasn’t his choice. Adam calls it a ladder to climb.
Sure, Nate says, but not when they have Adam’s level of expertise. Adam wants to be put to work.
Nate’s not buying any of this.
Adam tries to convince him, but Nate thinks this is a foolish thing Victor did.
He’ll be seeing confidential information, and it means Adam has access to power.
Adam is snide. Does he think he’ll gather company secrets
Nate says he is in sync with Victoria, and doesn’t trust Adam. He’ll handle menial tasks. Keep track of office supplies.
“Sharpening your pencils,” Adam says with a laugh.
Nate says he will hire another personal assistant he can trust. He’ll pay out of pocket.
Adam grins. The old man won’t like it. It’s a bold move, but could cost him.
They talk about Adam trying to blackmail Audra and Nate says that’s when he decided he can’t trust him. He doesn’t think Adam can change.
Adam wants to try to prove it to him and everyone that he can.
Nate thinks his dad is waiting for Adam to screw up, and Nate will watch him like a hawk.
Adam asks if that’s a warning, and Nate nods.
He thinks Nate’s pushing his buttons to see if the Big Bad Adam Newman still exists. Nate disagrees.
He’s going to open Victor’s eyes to show him that Adam’s incapable of becoming a decent man.
Adam won’t give him the satisfaction of thinking he can break him.
At Newman, Victoria meets with Victor, telling him he looks content.
The big chair always has suited him.
He regards her with surprise and thinks she has a right hook coming.
She only wants to make peace with her father. She is tired of fighting. He is glad to hear that, yet surprised. Victoria’s made a decision about the future.
She talks about how he’s looked at things erratically, but she can see he’s looking at the long game.
She can see he’s there to reunite a fractured workplace. He agrees. She says the problems started with the acquisition of Newman Media from Locke.
He agrees. Things got worse and tore the family apart. She blames Adam. If she screwed out as many times as he has, he wouldn’t give her so many chances.
Victor raises his voice. Adam’s his son. He loves and has faith in him.
Victoria trusts Nate, but nobody can keep her brother in line.
“Not even you,” she says. She’ll accept and give him another chance, though. Victor asks what her agenda is. She has none.
She was hurt that her position was stripped from her. It felt personal, but he told her it was just business.
He’s glad she understands that now and admits he was beginning to think things between them were becoming untenable.
If that was the case, he explains, he’d have fired her. If it happens again, he still might.
Nick gets out of bed, leaving Sally asleep in her hotel before he opens the door to room service.
Sally dreams that she and Adam are making out like mad outside her room when Nick walks up, looking steamed.
“Sally? Sally?” Spectra wakes up, startled.
He brings her orange juice and says he likes spoiling her.
He jokingly suggests they don’t work and just hang out with each other and live off of love.
He reminds her of how he professed his love to her before he left and loves her now more than he thought possible.
She calls him sweet. “I don’t know what to say.” He hopes she will say the same thing.
She stares. “Look, I love you. Very much.”
He says she’s not in love with him. “It’s not you,” she says.
She talks about all the romantic turmoil she’s been in and how hard it is to open her heart up.
He gets it and won’t pressure her. Later, they get dressed and talk about their day.
She asks for a picnic in the park. She’s planning something.
He kisses her neck, making her giggle, and then calls Victor to cancel lunch with him.

At Newman, Victoria eavesdrops on Victor’s call and says Nick ditched him too. He must be suspicious of his motives.
“Whatever,” Victor says. Nick calls back and asks for a drink at the end of the day, causing Victor to perk up.
He’d like that. Nate and Adam turn up, and Victor’s glad to see them.
Adam’s accepted his working dynamic.
That makes Victor happy, which, in turn, makes Adam happy.
Victoria and Adam take off, and Victor tells Nate they’re falling in line too easily.
By the elevator, Victoria doesn’t like that Adam has his own office.

She says he wouldn’t be there at all. He scoffs at her being dethroned and says he will prove himself to their dad.
She says when he shows his true colors, Nate will bust him.
He says he’ll nail her to the wall when she shows how she feels about being demoted.
At Chancellor Park, Sally gets the picnic set up and thinks about her dream where she’s kissing Adam, and Nick catches them together and tells her she’s been using him. That she’s never let him go. Nick strolls up and asks if she’s okay. She blurts, “Adam kissed me.”
