Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Summer confided in her mom about Chance as Lily assures Daniel she’s not concerned about Heather.
Crimson Lights
Sharon calls Elena and gets an update on Chance. She says she’ll come and visit him tomorrow and ends the call.
Nick comes in as she’s finishing her conversation with Elena. He asks Sharon what happened with Chance.
Sharon tells him that Chance was shot, but he’ll be fine.
Nick says it’s terrible news, but he’s glad Chance is okay.
Sharon is surprised that it’s not in the news.
Nick says it might have been on the news, but he hasn’t been paying attention… He’s been dealing with family issues.
Sharon says he hasn’t spoken with Summer, either, since she was at the hospital and would have told him what was going on.
Nick says he knows she’s friendly with Chance, but he’s surprised she showed up at the hospital.
Sharon asks what’s happening with his family.
Nick says that it was just as he suspected… Victor was playing a game and was setting a trap.
Sharon wonders who walked into the trap… Or maybe she already knows.
Newman Media
Victoria walks into Nikki’s office. She still can’t believe that Nikki kept Victor’s secret from her.
Nikki says it’s late, and she’s tired. She wants to send Claire home and convince Victor to head home too.
Victoria rants about how Victor must be happy since he fooled everyone except Nikki.
Nikki says they need to talk about this tomorrow, not tonight.
Victoria keeps on with her rant, saying that Nikki let Victor continue to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes.
Nikki says Victor never consulted with her before he began his charade, and when he did tell her, she let him know that she thought it was a bad idea and should stop it immediately.
Victoria harps on that Nikki did nothing. How cruel! How could she let Victor trick them like that? She knows that Nikki doesn’t trust Adam or Nate.
Nikki can’t believe Victoria still trusts Nate after knowing that he practically had her father put away in an institution.
Victoria says she’s accepted Nate’s explanation, and she’s not going to get into Nate with her. This is about Nikki not telling her about her father’s plan! She says she was worried sick about her father.
Nikki says that Victor insisted she not tell anyone until it was “the right time.”
Victoria says she couldn’t sleep… She thought she was going to lose her father. How could she do this to her?
Newman Enterprises
Adam enters the office and sits across the desk from Victor, who is looking through some spreadsheets. He says Victor never answered him about his role now that Nate is gone from Newman.
Victor says he hasn’t decided yet.
Adam asks if there’s an ETA on his decision.
Victor says he doesn’t know… He thought Adam would be the one caught in his trap, so he didn’t have a plan in place.
Adam smirks. Does Victor think he’s that predictable?
Victor says he won’t say that, but he’s happy that Adam didn’t betray him… He protected him!
Adam says he’s happy, too, and he’s grateful that his dad recognizes that. He says he’s going to give his dad some brutal honesty.
Victor smiles and says, “Bring it on!”
Adam says he wanted to start at the bottom and work his way up, but it was all a lie. He was angry that Victor had removed him from the Kirsten/McCall venture, and that hurt a lot.
Victor gets it. Adam wanted revenge.
Adam says he was going to work his way into the company and find a way to tear it apart from the inside.
Victor had his suspicions… That’s why he set a trap in the first place!
Adam says he wasn’t as successful as he thought then… He wanted to fool Victor into thinking his intentions were real, and then he’d strike at Victoria or his father.
Victor smiles and nods.
Adam says he started thinking of how often he’d hurt Victor in the past. He wanted to be a member of the family and fit in, but he fought against it by holding onto hurt and anger… When Victor started exhibiting his disturbing behavior, it all changed for him.
Newman Media
Nikki tells Victoria she didn’t want to keep Victor’s secret, but he was insistent that she didn’t tell Victoria because he figured she’d tell Nate everything.
Victoria says she didn’t have to listen to Victor! It was all about Nate all along; Nikki despises him!
Nikki says she doesn’t despise Nate… She doesn’t trust him and never has. She hopes Victoria’s eyes have been opened; hopefully, she knows she can never trust him again.
Crimson Lights
Sharon brings Nick a coffee.
Nick thanks Sharon and tells her that it wasn’t Adam who betrayed Victor… It was Nate.
Sharon can’t believe that a doctor would use Victor’s mental health against him.
Nick says Nate’s not a doctor anymore, and he’s become ruthless. He knew Nate couldn’t be trusted from the start… He staged a coup in his own family’s company, so why would anyone think he wouldn’t try the same thing at Newman?
Sharon asks what Nate had planned.
Nick explains that Nate wanted Victor out of the way so that Victoria could take his place as CEO and Nate would be her co-CEO.
Sharon asks how Nate planned to get rid of Victor.
Nick says that Nate was going to get Victor committed to a clinic where they could do some testing to diagnose and treat his condition. He thinks Nate would have convinced the doctors to keep Victor in the facility longer than necessary.
Sharon thinks Nate might have thought it was the best course of action.
Nick says it was the best course of action for Nate. Victor could have been diagnosed and treated from home.
Sharon thinks it’s outrageous. She thinks things at Newman are a mess right now… Even worse than before! She asks what Victor’s plans are to clean things up.
Nick says that’s what he needs to talk to her about. Now that Nate’s out, Victor wants Nick back at Newman.
Sharon says that’s expected. Victor’s always wanted Nick in the executive suite… Is he considering it?
Nick says Victoria isn’t in the state of mind to make rational decisions right now. He wonders if Adam chose not to betray Victor or whether he just got lucky.
Sharon thinks that Adam always loved Victor.
Nick admits she’s probably right. Right now, Victor thinks he can trust Adam, but Nick thinks that Adam will try to turn things to his advantage. His dad doesn’t have any allies right now besides his mom.
Sharon gets it… Nick is considering returning to Newman Enterprises.
Newman Media
Victoria tells her mom she doesn’t want to talk about Nate anymore.
Nikki tells Victoria she has to face the truth; Nate came to the company after betraying his own family.
Victoria knows, and Victor trusted Nate, even though he knew what Nate did to Devon and Lily. What changed?
Nikki says that Nate had an agenda.
Victoria laughs bitterly and says everyone they know has an agenda.
Nikki says Victoria’s not involved with “everyone.” She’s involved with Nate. Nikki asks where things stand with Nate and Victoria.
Claire knocks on the door and apologizes for interrupting. She got a call, and it’s an emergency.
Victoria prepares to leave, and Nikki tells her not to do anything rash. Victoria shrugs and says she doesn’t know what she’s going to do. She leaves the office.
Nikki closes the door behind her and asks what has Claire so upset… Who called, and what’s the emergency?
Newman Enterprises
Victor asks Adam what has changed for him.
Adam says his plan to destroy Newman went out the window when he thought his father was losing his grasp on reality. None of it mattered anymore. He could only think about trying to protect Victor and help him get better. He says he hasn’t had the time with Victor that Nick or Victoria did, and he wasn’t ready to lose his father, even if the rest of their days were filled with fighting.
Victor asks if Adam is upset now that he set a trap for everyone.
Adam says he’s not… But it was a masterful move that was warranted. He figures Nikki and Nick were in the clear, but Victoria, Nate, and himself… They all had reasons to exploit Victor’s “illness” for their own personal gain.
Victor asks him to explain.
Adam says Victoria was angry when Victor demoted her, and she’s ruthless, ambitious, and willing to go to any lengths to get what she wants. He figures Nate just wanted Victoria back in the CEO position so he could go along for the ride to the top.
Victor smiles. He says Adam thinks like his father.
Adam says he can understand that Victor doesn’t find him trustworthy, but he still wants to know… What happens to him now?
Victor asks if Adam thinks it’s still a good idea for him to work his way up from the bottom at Newman.
Adam laughs. No, he doesn’t think so. He’s had several executive positions, and he doesn’t think that he’d learn anything from anyone… After all, he ran the company before, and most people don’t have a fraction of the business experience he does. If he didn’t know that Victor wasn’t sick, he might still be playing out his original plan.
Victor chuckles. “Really?”
Adam says what matters is that he’s not playing it out, and he came up with a smart solution to Victor’s problem. At the very least, he deserves Nate’s position.
Victor says the problem is that Victoria is co-CEO, and if Adam took over Nate’s position, that would cause a lot of friction… Friction that Victor doesn’t want.
Adam asks what Victor proposes as a solution.
Victor says that Adam and Victoria need to work out their differences.
Adam says that’s easy enough… What about Nick?
Victor says he needs to know where Nicholas stands before he makes any decisions.
Adam scoffs. He figures he’ll always be third in line to the throne. Nick and Victoria will always outrank him, no matter how many times he proves himself to Victor. He gets up and leaves the office, closing the door behind him.

Crimson Lights
Sharon isn’t surprised Nick is considering returning to Newman Enterprises. He always looks out for his family.
Nick says he’s quick to step in to protect his family, but he feels it’s his job.
Sharon says it’s not a criticism; he always looks out for the people he loves.
Nick nods. They need to be looked after; it’s a full-time job!
Sharon laughs and says she knows it is; sometimes, there’s no room for anything else.
Nick says he hasn’t decided what to do yet, but he wanted to talk to Sharon about it first… He committed to her and doesn’t want to leave her in the lurch.
Sharon says Kirsten is ready for its relaunch… She’s okay.
Nick says he knows. She’s taken the company and whipped it into shape, and there’s no chance it won’t succeed.
Sharon says Nick was a big part of getting Kirsten to where it is, and she’d love to keep working on it as partners, but if she has to do it on her own, she can. Nick needs to do what’s best for him and the family. Either way, she’ll still use him as a sounding board or ask for advice.
Nick smiles. She’d better! He tells her he appreciates her support; it means the world to him. He feels like Newman and his father need him right now.
Sharon nods. Nick needs to do what he feels is right for him.
Newman Media
Claire tells Nikki that her aunt fell at her lake house and broke her arm.
Nikki says she’s sorry to hear that… Does she live alone?
Claire says a housekeeper comes by once a week, but nobody looks out for her otherwise.
Nikki says Claire needs to take care of her.
Claire says she needs to leave for a few days.
Nikki understands. She tells Claire to take all the time she needs.
Claire thanks her and says she’ll be available by text or email if Nikki needs anything.
Nikki says not to worry about that. She tells Claire to focus on her aunt; she knows she’s important to her!
Claire smiles and says she’s everything to her. She says her Aunt Jordan is Nikki’s biggest fan. Since Claire started working at Newman, Jordan can’t stop talking about how amazing Nikki is and how much she’s accomplished.
Nikki laughs and says that’s a bit embarrassing for her.
Claire tells her to take the compliment. Nikki’s done a lot in business and philanthropy. Her aunt thinks having Nikki as a boss is the best thing that could have happened to Claire.
Nikki thinks that’s flattering.
Claire says her aunt was planning to come and visit this weekend and hoped to meet Nikki and thank her for hiring Claire, but now with a broken arm…
Nikki says she doesn’t need to be thanked for a smart hire. They’ll meet another time, and Nikki wouldn’t be around this weekend anyhow.
Claire says she didn’t see anything on Nikki’s calendar for this weekend.
Nikki says she’s going to visit her sister, Casey. They haven’t seen each other in ages. Casey will be in Napa at a conference, and she thought she’d surprise her.
Claire thinks that’s sweet and says Casey will be thrilled by the surprise.
Nikki says she has an idea… Oregon is on the way to Napa; why doesn’t she give Claire a ride on the Newman jet?
Claire says she couldn’t ask her to do that.
Nikki insists. Claire’s not asking; Nikki is offering and won’t take no for an answer.
Claire thanks her. She says she has another favor to ask.
Newman Enterprises
Adam is waiting in the lobby when Nick walks out of the elevator.
Nick asks Adam if he’s on the welcoming committee… Maybe he’s Victor’s new receptionist; that’d be a step up from assistant!
Adam says there have been a lot of twists and turns lately.
Nick says one of the biggest twists is that Adam wasn’t the one who was outed by their father.
Adam smirks. He doubts Nick is unhappy that Nate is gone from Newman.
Nick shakes his head. He never trusted Nate.
Adam figures Nick doesn’t trust him either, even though their father is impressed by his loyalty.
Nick says he’s relieved that Adam didn’t try to use their father’s illness against him, even though he could have. Everyone expected it, including their father. That says a lot about who Adam is and how he deals with things.
Adam says even though he’s defied expectations, that doesn’t seem to change people’s opinions of him.
Nick says Adam’s behavior right now seems “decent” but could change at any time. His guard is still up regarding Adam, and it probably always will be.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Victoria walks into the lounge, sits at the bar, and orders a glass of wine. She thinks back to her talk with Nate after he’d been fired.
Flashback. Victoria told Nate she wanted to fight for him to get his job back.
Nate had told her that he was always seen as an outsider to the Newmans, and it was a wake-up call for him to reconnect with his family.
Victoria pulls out her phone and looks at Nate’s contact information. She looks to be deep in thought.
Newman Enterprises
Adam tells Nick he gets it… Nick doesn’t trust him. Nick and Victoria screwing up is completely different than when Adam screws up… That’s just who Adam is with his “dark and wicked soul.”
Nick says they should stop talking. He turns around to go into Victor’s office.
Adam says their father isn’t in the office. He left for the day.
Nick says he’ll call him later.
Adam knows Victor asked him to come back to Newman. Is Nick here to tell Victor that he will stick with Sharon at Kirsten, or will he give their father an early Christmas present and tell him that he’s coming back to the family company?
Nick says that’s between him and their father and intends to keep Adam guessing about his plans. He leaves the lobby.
Newman Media
Claire knows it’s a lot to ask but wonders if Nikki might drop by with her in Blue Lake and meet her aunt… Maybe have a cup of tea with her.
Nikki is surprised but sees that it’d mean a lot to Claire… She says it would only be a short visit since she only has a small amount of time to be with her sister… She has to make the most of that time.
Claire thanks Nikki for understanding.
Nikki says that family always comes first. She’ll send Claire the information on the flight.
Claire thanks her again and says that her Aunt Jordan was right… Working for Nikki is the best thing that’s ever happened to her! She leaves the office.
The GCAC Jazz Lounge
Victoria sips her wine and texts Nate. “I want to work through this.”
Nick walks up to Victoria and sits down beside her. He says she doesn’t look pleased with her phone. He orders a beer.
Victoria thought Nick had gone home to Christian.
Nick says he did. He did his homework with him, got him to brush his teeth, and the nanny will take care of him from there. He asks who’s not texting her back… Or does he need to ask?
Victoria shoots him a look and tells him that Nate’s not answering her.
Nick nods and says Victoria needs to just let Nate go.
Victoria says he won’t change her mind. She’s wondering what comes next… Should Nate fight for his job at Newman, or should he go back to Chancellor-Winters?
Nick asks if Lily or Devon even want Nate back.
Victoria shrugs and tells Nick that Nate isn’t too happy with her right now; he doesn’t like that she sided with Adam.
Nick says he doesn’t trust or like Nate, but he knows Victoria does. He says he swung by the office to talk to their father, but he’d already left. He ran into Adam, though.
Victoria laughs and says their dad will probably make Adam her assistant now.
Nick shrugs. Who knows.
Victoria asks what Nick’s going to do. She knows that coming back to Newman isn’t his first choice, but… Is he coming back to the family company?
Newman Enterprises
Adam enters Victor’s empty office. He sits down in Victor’s chair and looks around, deep in thought.
Newman Media
Victor enters Nikki’s office and asks if she’s ready to go home.
Nikki says Victor’s being awfully casual… It’s like he didn’t just set the whole family on fire.
Victor says he kept a flicker from exploding into a flame.
Nikki says they have to talk about it. She sits down and beckons Victor to sit with her. She says Victoria is furious.
Victor isn’t surprised Victoria is upset.
Nikki says Victoria was justified to be angry… Her father had put on an act to trap one or more of his children!
Victor says setting the trap was productive, and they found out that Victoria’s lover, Nate, was as manipulative as he’d thought. He figures Victoria just needs time to work it out.
Nikki warned Victor that he could lose Victoria over his stunt… She could decide to leave the company… Or worse!
Victor says Victoria would never leave the company.
Nikki isn’t sure. Victor could have pushed her too far.
Victor doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. He wants to go home and enjoy their time together. He asks if she needs to take any work home with her.
Nikki says that she has nothing to take home… Claire did everything she was going to bring home with her.
Victor nods. Claire’s working out well?
Nikki says Claire is great, though she’s going through an emergency. She explains that Claire’s aunt who raised her broke her arm, so she’s going to Oregon to help for a few days.
Victor winces. Breaking a bone when you’re older isn’t good.
Nikki says Claire’s aunt is a big fan and thinks that Claire becoming Nikki’s assistant is the best thing since sliced bread.
Victor laughs. Good!
Nikki says she’s offered Claire a seat on the jet when she goes to Napa to meet with Casey, and Claire can take a flight back on her own when she’s finished with her aunt. She says she agreed to meet Claire’s aunt.
Victor encourages her to go through with it.
Nikki wonders if she should leave town at all. There’s a lot of family upheaval.
Victor says she shouldn’t think twice. Nikki hasn’t seen her sister for a long time, and Victor will deal with the problems he’s created while she’s gone. He wants her to have a good time! She can bask in the admiration of Claire’s aunt.
Nikki smiles, and Victor kisses her hand.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Claire walks down into the lobby from her room upstairs. She looks around furtively and leaves the lobby.

Didn’t Nicki figure out last week Victor was faking his mental health? This shows storyline is like a bottomless pit.
That’s why this doesn’t make sense. Nick figured out that Victor was faking his mental decline, Nick told Victoria and Nikki admitted that she knew. Now they act like all that never happened? I don’t get it.
Just who is this Clair??? What past Genoa city resident is she related to??
As of late this soap has become very boring ALL the way around.
Now with Christine & Danny back it is even worse.
The only hot & interesting thing was Kyle & hooker what’s her name but even that has played out too.
You need to put some real good story line’s PLEASE!
Something about Claire isn’t right she’s definitely a suspicious character 🤔There’s nothing good for Kyle by back stabbing his family
Y@R will always be my show. Have watched from start since 1973. Will continue as long as I can.
What is Claire up too?
That’s why this doesn’t make sense. Nick figured out that Victor was faking his mental decline, Nick told Victoria and Nikki admitted that she knew. Now they act like all that never happened? I don’t get it.
This story line was no surprise. Only Newmans can work at Newman Enterprise. So Nate got what he deserves for being so gullible.
Kyle is too self entitled and doesn’t deserve to be in a high position at JAbot . Victoria is a acting ridiculous. What is wrong with keeping a secret??? Soaps are doing an overkill on this. Doesn’t anyone know what a secret is? Sharon is too old for Chance.
It would be great if everyone gave Adam another chance and treated him like family instead on enemy.
When are you going to write something interesting? Did Nikki run down Billy and Chloe’s child drunk? That seemed to be the direction the story teased when this happened. Then it just went another direction
I thought from the start that Claire was up to no good. She was trying a little to hard for my thoughts. Her Aunt is probably not even alive anymore & Claire is cracked? Nick is always a prick to me who thinks he’s better than others. Hope they don’t keep dragging all this Victor deception out!
The show has become stagnant and predictable, so it would be refreshing if they introduced new characters. Victor’s scheme to catch a traitor by feigning illness was just ridiculous and poorly written.
How can a show this awful keep winning Daytime Emmy Awards?
I enjoy watching Àdam. Hoping they will get rid of Victorià and give Adam her job.
I use to like Victoria but she is so shady. Its time for Adam to get treated like a human in the family. Its getting old.
