Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Victor arranged to meet Jordan, Nikki blew off steam at an AA meeting, and Ashley gave Audra a warning.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis teeters down the stairs into the lounge and sees Nick sitting at the bar, having a drink. She stumbles into the waitress and apologizes for getting in her way. She sways over to Nick and says hello.
Nick asks what’s going on.
Phyllis sits down and says she’ll spill the beans if Nick buys her a drink.
Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Victor she gets more suspicious the more he evades her questions. Where is he going at this hour? He hasn’t given her a straight answer!
Victor says he doesn’t want to worry her, but he’ll tell her because she’s pressing him. He tells her to have a seat and says he’s heard from Jordan, and she’s taken his bait… He’s going to meet with her.
Nikki protests.
Victor tells her not to worry… Everything is under control!
Nikki asks if that’s where he’s going… To meet Jordan? At such a late hour?
A Back Alley
Jordan dances around with a handgun, singing to herself and pointing the firearm at an imaginary Victor.
Newman Ranch
Victor is on the phone and tells the other party to “send him in.” He ends the call.
Nikki asks Victor how he can be sure that Jordan isn’t planning a trap of her own.
Victor says he’s sure Jordan is planning a trap, but he has the upper hand; he has it under control.
Nikki says they’ve thought that before, but look where they are now!
Victor promises they will be successful this time. He says it’s the last stage of his plan to make sure “that woman” won’t cause their family pain again.
Michael Baldwin, the Newman’s lawyer, shows up and asks what the emergency is.
Victor asks if everything’s been arranged.
Michael nods. He says everything’s been arranged, but he’s not very happy with the whole idea. He doesn’t like the legal risks he or Victor will be taking.
Nikki asks them to tell her what’s going on… Where did Victor’s last stage of his plan come from?
Victor says the less Nikki knows, the better. He has it under control, and when he’s back, he’ll tell her everything. He kisses her and tells her he adores her; she must trust him on this!
Nikki sighs and nods in affirmation. Victor and Michael leave the house, and Nikki stands there, looking shaken.
Claire enters the room in her bathrobe and cautiously approaches Nikki. She says she didn’t expect to see Nikki up at this hour… Is everything alright?
Nikki says she’s been dealing with a situation and is too keyed up to go to bed.
Claire says she might have the perfect solution. She asks Nikki if she can distract her again, but this time, Nikki will be the one who tells a story.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis reaches over and puts her hand around Nick’s beer, but Nick pulls her hand away, saying she doesn’t need another drink and he won’t buy her one. Phyllis looks sad and says sometimes a person just needs to “annihilate the darkness.”
Nick says something non-committal.
Phyllis leans over and rests her head on Nick’s shoulder briefly, saying she’s had an epiphany. She tells him, “Don’t change… Ever. It’s a waste of time!”
Nick says that’s not true; he’s admired how she’s tried to change.
Phyllis nods. She pulls off her false eyelashes and puts them on the bar, saying her kids are walking on eggshells around her. She takes off her earrings and hair extensions (!!!) and puts them on the bar, talking about how she thought she had a second chance at happiness, but that blew up on her.
Nick watches her remove her cosmetic bling with a puzzled and slightly concerned look. He takes a drink of his beer and asks her if the second chance she’s talking about has anything to do with “a certain rock star.”
Phyllis shushes him and says it doesn’t matter.
Nick asks, “Danny Romalotti doesn’t matter?”
Phyllis asks him not to say his name. Why did she even try?
Nick says she told him things were on the upswing between her and Danny the last time they spoke.
Phyllis says she was wrong; Danny told her who he really wanted, and it’s not her.
Nick is surprised. Did Danny actually say that?
Phyllis nods. He did. She says she was humiliated and rejected and you know what her first thoughts were?
Nick figures it was “revenge.”
Phyllis says it was revenge. She says she can’t change. A tiger can’t change its stripes, and neither can she. It’s who she is!
Nick tells her to stop; she has changed for months, and it’s noticeable!
Phyllis says she hasn’t changed, even if Nick thinks she has. She asks where her drink is.
Nick says he’s got a better offer for her. Instead of a drink, he’ll buy her dinner or maybe junk food—whatever she wants!
Phyllis grins and asks what type of junk food… Room service junk food?
Nick laughs. “Really?”
Phyllis laughs/whispers that room service is the best because nobody will see her eating it, and she wants to change out of her dress; she’s embarrassed.
Nick nods and takes a drink of his beer. He agrees, and suggests she leads the way. Phyllis tries to grab his drink again, but he tells her to leave it be.
Phyllis grabs Nick’s arm for support, and they leave the lounge.
Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Claire that she’s not up to telling stories tonight.
Claire wonders if Nikki would feel the same about telling the “legendary” story of how Nikki Reed met Victor Newman.
Nikki looks surprised.
Claire says she’s read many versions of the story, and Jordan fed her more dirt on Nikki than she ever wanted to know.
Nikki smiles and says she can only imagine. She agrees to tell the story and warns Claire to “fasten her seatbelt.”
A Back Alley
Michael and Victor walk into the back alley. Michael tells Victor that it was a mistake not to bring police backup. If Jordan shows up to meet him, the police will take her into custody, and that’s the end of Jordan’s story!
Victor says Jordan would have noticed the police.
Michael tells Victor not to make him a liar; Lauren expects him home safe and sound in a couple of hours.
Victor pats him on the shoulder and says Lauren has nothing to worry about.
Jordan steps out of the shadows and holds them at gunpoint. With a grin, she throws her wig and beret aside.
Victor says she’s given herself an advantage; he couldn’t position a sniper on the roof here.
Jordan says he wouldn’t have done it anyhow… That’s not Victor Newman’s style.
Victor says he agreed to meet her with just one companion by his side—his lawyer—and he’s kept his word.
Jordan says her sister never said Victor was one to keep his word… Before she died. She says that was decades ago, though, and people do change.
Victor says some do, and some don’t.
Jordan says he’s starting to bore her. She asks about the restitution he’d wanted to make.
Victor prompts Michael with a pat on his shoulder.
Michael removes his duffle bag and places it on the ground in front of Jordan.
Jordan asks what’s inside.
Victor tells her that her new life awaits. Inside the bag is a ten-million-dollar bank account, a new passport, a birth certificate… A completely new identity!
Jordan asks him if there’s anything else.
Victor says there are keys and a deed to a new house in southern France.
Jordan asks whether there’s a pool or not.
Victor shrugs. He tells her to imagine starting a new life in a beautiful home in a beautiful country… She wouldn’t have to worry about a thing!
Jordan says it sounds tempting.
Victor says she wouldn’t have to worry about cops or prosecution… All she has to do is leave the country and never look back.

Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Claire the story of how she met Victor. She starts in her late teens, a part of her life she’s not particularly proud of.
Claire asks why Nikki’s not proud… What was going on with her?
Nikki says she was naive and enjoyed multiple partners. She was also a wild child and took every wrong path she encountered.
Claire leans in, intrigued, and asks for details.
Nikki says she signed up for a modeling agency, but that turned out to be a shady front for an escort agency. Later, she joined a commune, but it ended up being a cult.
Claire says she didn’t know any of that.
Nikki says after that, she got a job at a club called The Bayou, which she’s certain Claire must have heard about.
Claire nods and says that was one of Jordan’s fixations.
Nikki says a handsome, successful older man named Victor Newman was going through a rough time after his first wife had left him, and he became depressed. She says his best friend, Douglas Austin, wanted to cheer him up and took him to a “club.”
Claire grins. It was the one Nikki worked at!
Nikki laughs. Exactly. She says Victor was in the audience that night, and it was the first time they’d laid eyes on each other.
Claire asks if Victor asked her out.
Nikki says it wasn’t quite like that… Victor took her under his wing to transform a messy, street-smart punk into a sophisticated young lady. She says Victor had her take etiquette lessons, and she learned how to dress and carry on “proper” conversation at a cocktail party.
Flashback. Victor and Nikki are standing in front of a piano. Victor tells Nikki she’ll need to practice daily, and he’ll arrange for coaching.
Nikki tells Victor it’ll cost a lot of money for those lessons, but Victor says he can afford it. She asks what he wants in return… People don’t just do nice things for free!
Victor tells her that “the finished product” will be his reward. She’ll become an accomplished and cultured woman! He asks her to play the piece again, but this time, with more legato!
Nikki smiles at him and says he knows about music, too.
Victor says he knows something about many things, and soon, she will, too.
Claire asks Nikki if they fell in love during the process of making her a lady.
Nikki laughs and says she did, but Victor hadn’t fallen in love with her… Yet.
Claire mentions that Jordan had said Nikki and Victor were married several times… What happened there?
Nikki says that’s true… They were married to each other and other people as well, but they’ve always managed to find their way back to one another. She says they’re devoted to each other, and family is very important to them both, especially since Victor was raised in an orphanage.
Claire says Jordan told her that was just a story made up by Newman Enterprises to counter Victor’s reputation for being ruthless.
Nikki says she wishes that was true, but Victor grew up in an orphanage and always wanted a family… Now that he has one, he’s fiercely protective of them, including Claire!
Claire isn’t sure Victor could be protective of her after what she’d done to them.
Nikki says anyone with a drop of Newman blood is family to Victor. He’ll love and protect his family forever.
Claire says Victor doesn’t sound like the terrible man she grew up hearing about. She asks when Eve Howard came into their lives.
Nikki sighs as she thinks back.
Phyllis’s GCAC Suite
Nick and Phyllis enter her room, and Phyllis tells Nick to wait while she goes into the washroom to change.
Nick removes one of her hair extensions from the room’s phone and calls down to order room service. He orders some cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings, and macaroni and cheese.
Phyllis comes out of the washroom in a robe, grinning. She asks if he’s got onion rings or a grilled cheese sandwich.
Nick says he got onion rings and mac and cheese.
Phyllis laughs and says that her motto is…
Nick recites along with her, “I never met a carb I didn’t like!”
They laugh.
Phyllis tells him he can go and thanks him for caring for her for the billionth time.
Nick says that’s not happening… She doesn’t get all that food to herself!
Phyllis looks serious and asks him not to tell Summer or Daniel about this evening. She knows it’s a lot to ask.
Nick promises her that neither of them will hear anything about it from him.
Phyllis smiles and asks if he’d like a nightcap. She’s going to make herself one!
Nick declines and says she could put the drink down, and they could talk about what’s bothering her and get whatever she wants off her chest. He’s there to listen without judgment.
Phyllis sits down and explains how she’d rented out Society for the night so that Danny could make her his special pasta and sauce. It was going to be their last night before he went on tour.
Nick says Phyllis came up with a “pretty cool” way of saying goodbye and hopes that Danny showed up for it.
Phyllis says it was very romantic, and Danny did show up… With Christine.
Nick winces. “Ouch.”
Phyllis says she felt like she and Danny had a chance this time. She thought she was being “rewarded” for changing. She says she’d been working hard and felt fate was giving her a do-over; she thought things would be different this time.
Nick says it sounds like she did a great job, but Danny and Christine have a connection… They’ve always clicked.
Phyllis says she clicks with Danny, too, but it must not be enough. She wonders why she’s not enough.
Nick says she is enough, and she’ll be enough for someone else.
Phyllis asks who she’ll be enough for… Where are they? She says it’s weird talking about this with Nick. She says she’s been working hard to be better than she was, but trying to be the person her kids and everyone in town want her to be is difficult. She says every day is hard for her, and at the end of the day, she feels alone and lonely.
Phyllis leans forward and kisses Nick.
Newman Ranch
Claire apologizes to Nikki… She shouldn’t have asked about Eve; it’s probably the last thing Nikki wants to relive after the nightmare she’s been through.
Nikki says it might help her to get it all out. It’s a long and complicated story! She asks if Jordan told Claire about Eve trying to poison Victor.
Claire says she’d never heard that; Jordan always portrayed Eve as innocent and loving. Jordan had told her that Victor betrayed Eve.
Nikki says Eve was a menace like her sister, Jordan. She says Eve was arrested and put in a psychiatric facility.
Claire says she was in a psychiatric facility, too.
Nikki says Eve wasn’t like Claire. Everything Eve did was of her own free will; she wasn’t coerced. Unlike Claire, Eve didn’t want to get well and continued down the path of destruction. She says Eve read about her and Victor’s wedding and infiltrated it, disguising herself as a caterer. She’d tried to stab Nikki at the wedding.
Claire is shocked. She says the knives and poison are Jordan’s favorite, too. She didn’t know any of this!
Nikki says Jordan couldn’t tell Claire about it and pretend to be “righteous.” She hopes Claire isn’t upset about this; she thought Claire deserved to know the truth about both sides of her family.
Claire thanks her for telling her; it makes her think about everything she did… She lied, drugged people, and injected alcohol into Nikki’s veins.
Nikki reminds her it was all Jordan’s influence.
Claire says she did those things. What if her grandmother and great-aunt’s madness is in her?
A Back Alley
Jordan looks through the bag while keeping her weapon trained on Victor and Michael.
Michael tells her to either take the deal or leave it.
Victor says Eve wouldn’t want Jordan to spend the rest of her life in prison just to avenge her.
Jordan says she knows… So what’s the catch?
Victor says there isn’t a catch.
Jordan asks what would stop him from calling the authorities and telling them about her new identity. She’d be arrested at the airport before she can board the plane… Or perhaps he’s rigged the lovely chateau in France to go BOOM the minute she shows up! Does he think she’s an idiot?
Michael says Victor anticipated that Jordan might think that.
Victor says he has a solution to assure Jordan that none of that will happen.
Jordan can’t wait to hear it.
Victor says Jordan needs to take him as a hostage.
Jordan laughs and asks Victor how that’s supposed to work.
Victor says it’s easy; she can take him to a hideout that only she knows about and lock him up until she’s made her escape. Then, she can call his lawyer and tell him where to find Victor.
Jordan wonders what would happen if she just left Victor to rot.
Michael says he’d ensure that her $10 million bank account vanished and that her new identity was reported to Interpol.
Victor tells her that she needs to think about her new life in a mansion with more money than she could dream of… All of it would be gone if she didn’t take the deal.
Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Claire she’s nothing like Jordan or Eve. She says Claire was able to change dramatically after all of her miserable years with Jordan shows that she’s a kind and decent person.
Claire says Nikki’s opinion about her mental state and her decency means a lot to her, and she thanks Nikki for telling her how she feels.
Nikki says she means it; Jordan tried to destroy them both, but look at them now! She says that if Victor is right and things take a turn tonight, they might be rid of Jordan forever.
Claire asks how… What’s happening tonight?
Phyllis’s GCAC Suite
Nick pushes Phyllis away as she’s kissing him. He says it’s a bad idea for a lot of reasons.
Phyllis groans and asks why.
Nick says she’s not thinking clearly, and he’s a gentleman. They both know where this will go, and they can’t return to that!
Phyllis proposes that they do this with no strings attached… Just two lonely people who love each other very much!
Nick says he never said anything about being lonely.
Phyllis says she can tell he’s lonely… Sally dumped him for Adam!
Nick says she shouldn’t have brought up Adam… That’s an instant cold shower.
There’s a knock at the door. It’s room service. Nick brings the serving tray into the room and thanks the server, passing him a tip as he closes the door.
Phyllis tells Nick she knows he loves her a little bit.
A bit later, they’re sitting and eating. Nick says they’ll always be in each other’s lives, and not just because of their daughter. They have an amazing history full of ups and downs, but Phyllis can always depend on Nick, just like he knows he can count on her… Most of the time.
Phyllis says he can always count on her. She says she loves talking to him and listening to him… They could have done this in bed!
Nick says they could have, but Phyllis would have regretted it.
Phyllis says she wouldn’t.
Nick laughs and says he’s going to go now. He asks if she’s okay.
Phyllis says she’s fine and thanks him for everything.
Nick says he’s glad to help. He heads out the door.
Before he leaves, Phyllis walks up to him and feigns kissing him on the lips but laughs and kisses him on the cheek instead. She thanks him again, and he leaves.
Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Claire that Victor contacted Jordan and they made plans to meet, but she doesn’t know anything more.
Claire hopes Victor is okay.
Nikki tells her that if Victor’s plan works tonight, they have Claire to thank for it; she had the strength to reach out to a woman who terrifies her in order to help her new family. She says that Claire’s courage is because of the Newman side of her; she’s proven that she is a Newman at heart.
Claire smiles.
A Back Alley
Victor asks Jordan what she’ll choose: a life of wealth and freedom or the life she has today: alone, despised, and hunted like an animal. Do they have a deal?

Whut??! Victor telling Jordan to take him hostage so he can’t report her makes NO sense at all! It’s as crazy as she is! He could still tell all to the police after Michael frees him. And of course, that won’t go as planned either!
