Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Summer was shocked when she smelled Audra’s perfume on Kyle, while Christine & Heather battled over Phyllis’s legal woes.
Crimson Lights
Adam enters the coffee shop, looks around, and heads to the patio where Sharon is going through some paperwork.
He asks Sharon if she’s thought about his proposal. He says he’s walking away from Adustus, but if they both run her company, they can turn Newman into a pile of dust.
Sharon says she doesn’t think he’ll like her answer.
The Newman Ranch House
Victor asks Victoria and Nick if they’re ok with running the company how he wants.
Victoria says she’s on board, and if it knocks Adam down a few notches, it’s even better.
Victor says that this isn’t for Victoria… This is how Victor runs the company from now on; he’s calling the shots.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Kyle walks in and meets Audra in the lobby. She asks if he’s ready for his first day.
Kyle says he’s ready and has some new ideas.
Summer comes down the stairs and asks him if it’s a good time to talk.
Kyle says he’s busy right now.
Audra says he should talk with Summer, and she’ll meet him at the office.
Society
Phyllis walks into the restaurant as the patrons stare and talk about her.
Phyllis ironically poses for everyone and sits down at Daniel’s table. She says it’s like a perp walk.
Daniel says it’ll blow over, and since when did she care what people thought about her?
Phyllis says she cares, for whatever reason, and wants to fix what she broke.
Crimson Lights
Adam tells Sharon that if she’s turning him down, she could have texted him… It would have saved them both some time.
Sharon says he’s getting angry without knowing her story… Classic Adam.
Adam sits down and says he’s listening.
Sharon tells him that she sees the logic from Victor’s point of view. She says Adam’s father doesn’t want him to use McCall to attack Newman Enterprises.
Adam says it’s survival of the fittest.
Sharon says his business plan has great promise for Adustus, but he can’t turn on his family.
Adam says it’s about him not being part of his father’s mind games. He says he’s offering his services for her new venture.
Sharon says she’s not interested; bringing Adam in makes her look weak like she needs him to turn the company around, which isn’t the case.
Adam guesses they’re done. He goes to walk out.
Sharon tells him to stop and listen… For his sake and hers.
The Newman Ranch House
Victoria tells her father she knew giving Adam a company to run was a bad idea, and Victor gave Adam an opportunity he didn’t deserve.
Victoria thinks having Nick work with Adam at Adustus is a good idea.
Victor says he runs the companies and comes up with the ideas, it’s not Victoria’s place to do so.
The GCAC
Summer tells Kyle she hopes he won’t be late for work.
Kyle says it’s fine.
Summer says she’s trying to make things right so they can give each other another chance.
Kyle says he doesn’t see it happening.
Summer tells him that he needs to think about it… They’ve been through so much.
Kyle tells Summer she held the key to releasing his mother from jail and betrayed him.
Summer says betrayal is an interesting word choice. She did things she’s not proud of, but there was no malice behind it. She says betrayal is a conscious act to hurt someone.
Kyle asks what she’s really trying to say.
Summer says she wants an honest response.
Kyle says that’s rich, coming from her.
Summer asks if he’s crossed the point of no return. She says she’s shared the truth with him and asks him to reciprocate.
Society
Daniel tells Phyllis everyone’s still looking at her.
Phyllis loudly calls out that she’s just having coffee with her son.
Daniel cringes and quietly says he’s glad she’s out on bail.
Phyllis says the EMT, Carson, is willing to give testimony to exonerate her. She complains her passport was taken away.
Daniel says she seems different… Rattled. He says he’ll sit and listen to her without judgment.
Phyllis says Daniel knows her… She’s used to people pointing fingers at her, and she’s been an agent of chaos in her life, but that was never her intention.
She says she was able to justify what she did, but she can’t make amends at the same time.
Daniel asks who she needs to make amends with.
Phyllis says she needs to make amends with Daniel, Summer, Jack, and Diane, amongst others. She doesn’t know if Diane will forgive her, but she wants to ask for her forgiveness.
Daniel says it’s just them talking… Is this for real, or is it an act?
The Newman Ranch House
Victoria tells Victor that no one is disputing that it’s his company, but he put her in charge because she’s doing what’s best for the business, and she’ll continue to put the business first.
Nick says he agreed to move over to Adustus last night and wants to let Victoria know that he’s unhappy that Nate was given his job.
Victor agrees with Nick but thinks Nate can be a valuable asset.
Nick says he feels that his opinion doesn’t matter.
Victor says Nick’s opinion does matter.
Nick says Victor has it just the way he likes… His children are doing what he wants.
Victoria says she’s ok with it.
Nick says of course Victoria’s ok with it… It works to her advantage.
Victor says Nick will get over it. Unity will be achieved… Even if he has to force it!
Crimson Lights
Adam tells Sharon he knows she doesn’t need him to run her company.
Sharon tells Adam that Victor is testing him, and he’s reacting with hurt and a need for payback.
She says he needs to make a different choice. He needs to make the choice to pass Victor’s test, and he needs to remember that a merger between Adustus and Kirsten could be powerful.
Adam says they’d have “zero autonomy” working under Victor.
Sharon says they would prove themselves by becoming so successful that Victor would have to leave them alone… The two companies merging would be a powerhouse, and Nick would be a valuable asset.
She says it’d feel good to get payback by proving everyone wrong.
Chance walks in and asks if it’s a good time for him to talk with Sharon.
Adam says they were just finishing up. He tells Sharon she’s given him something to think about. He leaves the cafe.

Chancellor Park
Tucker is walking through the park when he spies Audra. He says that he knows her look of success… Something’s paid off for her.
Audra says Tucker told her that “it’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” She says her life is going fabulously. She asks how Tucker has been.
Tucker says his life is going shockingly well. He asks Audra if she’s still trying to turn a boy into a man.
The GCAC
Kyle tells Summer that he’s finished talking to her… He’s late for work. He gets out of his chair and prepares to leave.
Summer jumps up and asks him to admit he slept with Audra.
Kyle coldly says he did sleep with Audra.
Summer gets upset and says Kyle already moved on and didn’t have the guts to tell her.
She knows now there was never any hope for them.
Kyle says he guesses not… Are they done here?
Summer slaps Kyle and stalks away with tears in her eyes.
Crimson Lights
Sharon and Chance start talking at the same time and stumble over their words.
Chance tells Sharon he couldn’t stop thinking about her all day. He asks if she’d like to go to the park with him.
Sharon says she’d love it, but she’ll have to delay her answer… She’s got work to do.
Chance says he really wants to kiss her.
Chancellor Park
Audra tells Tucker that he’s supposedly focused on Ashley, but he sure has fixated on her new relationship with Kyle.
Tucker says things will turn out the way he wants with Ashley and their new company.
Audra asks how many laws he’ll break to make that happen.
Tucker tells her to enjoy her “little friend” (Kyle).
Audra says he should enjoy “whatever it is you have.” (Ashley) She leaves the park.
Society
Summer comes into the restaurant, looking sad, and hugs her mom.
Phyllis asks what’s wrong… It must be Kyle.
Sumemr says she’s fine. She wants to focus on Phyllis and make the most of it.
Phyllis says she won’t truly be free until the charges are dropped.
Daniel says Phyllis sounded confident about the charges being dropped a few minutes ago.
Phyllis says that Christine has a vendetta against her. She says that Christine has wanted to put her behind bars for years, so she doesn’t know how the court case will play out, even with Carson’s testimony.
The Newman Ranch House
Nick says that based on what he saw last night, Adam probably worked himself into a rage. He asks what makes Victor think that his plan will work this time.
Victor says he has faith in Nick’s ability to make Adam see the bigger picture.
Nick says he doesn’t see the true picture, but he’ll trust Victor. He leaves the house.
Victoria goes to leave as well, but Victor tells her to stay… He wants to talk to her alone.
Victoria wonders if Victor is annoyed with her.
Victor asks why Victoria would think he’s annoyed with her.
Victoria says she’s sorry that she accepted his deal so easily.
Victor tells her that he thinks she had the same plan all along.
Victoria says, “Like father, like daughter.”
Victor says that may be so, but sometimes she won’t like the reflection she sees in the mirror.
Victoria says she’s the CEO who learned it all from him.
Victor hugs her and tells her he’s proud of her.
Chancellor Park
Nick sees Adam in the park and asks how he is.
Adam asks if that’s a serious question. He says Nick’s awfully chipper for a guy who had his job yanked away and given to Victoria’s boyfriend.
Nick says Adam sees an insult from Victor, but he sees an opportunity.
Adam says Nick has been told to be a corporate babysitter.
Nick says Adam can go and throw the tantrum everyone expects him to, or he can think about it rationally.
Society
Phyllis apologizes to Daniel and Summer for what she did to them and promises she’ll make up for it.
Daniel is talking as Tucker walks into the restaurant.
Tucker nods at Phyllis, and she nods back. Daniel notices this wordless exchange.
Daniel asks Phyllis what’s going on between her and Tucker… What was that all about?
Phyllis laughs and asks Daniel why he’d think something was going on between her and Tucker… She was just nodding hello.
Phyllis asks to hear about Summer’s life. She says she just wants to help.
Summer says she’s late for work.
Phyllis asks her not to shut her out.
Summer says, “Or what, you’ll pretend to die and ruin our lives?” She sees the look on Phyllis’s face and apologizes. She leaves the restaurant.
Daniel says Summer didn’t mean what she said.
Phyllis says she knows. She says she needs a 12-step program to fix herself.
Daniel tells Phyllis she sounds very “evolved”.
Phyllis says she is evolved; the ordeal changed her in ways Daniel can’t imagine. She knows she screwed up, but she will do better, whatever it takes.
Crimson Lights
Sharon tells Chance she can’t leave work; it’s going to take time to streamline Cameron’s company.
She promises the “next time” will be soon.
Chance says he can’t wait. He asks if she took his advice to bring Adam on board.
Sharon says she talked to Adam, and he just wanted to wage war with Victor. She told Adam that a merger would be the best, and he’s thinking about it.
Chance figures Adam doesn’t have it in him to do the merger.
Chancellor Park
Nick tells Adam he won’t coddle him. He’s walked away from Newman himself.
Adam says Nick has seen the light.
Nick says he’s seen the future, and it’s essential to merge companies.
Adam says that they’ll be under Victor’s thumb the whole time if they do that.
Nick says that if Adam doesn’t cooperate, Nick and Victoria will run the company and Adam will be on the outside like always.
He tells Adam they should work together and do the job; turning around two sinking companies will be easier than outmaneuvering Victor Newman.
Society
Daniel says he’s got to work. He leaves the restaurant.
Phyllis watches Daniel leave, and once he’s gone, she walks over to Tucker’s table.
Tucker asks her how the family reunion was.
Phyllis asks what he’s doing there.
Tucker says he needs to know what her plan is… He needs reassurance she’ll follow through on their arrangement.
Phyllis said she’d follow through, that should be enough for him.
Tucker says Carson hasn’t given his testimony yet… He says that Phyllis can’t screw him over, or he’ll make Carson disappear. He asks Phyllis what she’s doing to regain Jack’s trust and how she’s dealing with Diane.
Crimson Lights
Sharon tells Chance she has a complex relationship with Adam.
Chance says she has to remember that the Newmans need her more than she needs them.
Chancellor Park
Adam curses.
Nick says he knows that sound… It’s reluctant acceptance.
Adam tells Nick they can rage against Victor, or they can do the right thing. He laughs and says, “You, me, and Sharon, working together.”
Adam offers Nick his hand, and they shake on it.
