Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Jordan called a drunken Nikki and sparked a feisty response, while Danny was caught in the crossfire between Phyllis & Christine.
Crimson Lights
Daniel walks into the coffee shop and sees Devon ordering a coffee.
Devon says hello and asks if Daniel has told Lily about his relationship with Heather.
Daniel says he’s waiting to tell Lily until she’s emotionally ready to hear the news.
Devon says it sounds like Daniel plans to keep cheating on Lily until then.
Daniel’s Apartment
Lucy tells her mom that she really enjoyed going to the gallery show, and it was made even better because they went to the show as a family. She asks her mom if she’s going to move in soon.
Heather tells her that she needs to slow down… Things are still new between her and Daniel!
Lucy says it’s not new. They took a break, and now they’re back together!
Heather says it’s a little more complicated than that… Her dad is waiting for the right time to tell Lily, and they have to keep it “under the radar.”
Lucy sighs. She finds it hard not to say anything.
Heather tells her to try to keep her excitement under wraps for now.
Lucy says she’ll try as long as she doesn’t have to keep it under wraps with her parents… It’s the most exciting thing that’s happened in a long time!
Heather says it is exciting, and she’s very happy.
Lucy wishes they could skip to “the good part” where their family is together for good.
Heather reassures her it’ll happen in time.
Lucy is scared that something will happen before Daniel tells Lily, or if he sees Lily again, he’ll decide to stay with her.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Phyllis walks into the club and passes Diane. She calls out a greeting and compliments Diane, saying she looks lovely.
Diane returns the greeting and compliment.
Phyllis thanks her and says some people say she has a “special” glow nowadays.
Diane says she’d love to hear about her glow, but she’s busy and is almost late for a meeting. She apologizes for being abrupt.
Phyllis says there’s no apology needed. Nothing could put a damper on her spirits today!
Diane thinks it’s probably a good time to tell her the news… She’s been promoted.
Phyllis smiles and asks if Diane is in charge of rubber-band balls… Or maybe she’s got Phyllis’s old position at Marchetti Homes and is following in her footsteps.
Diane says her new position isn’t that small… She’s running Jabot side-by-side with her husband!
The Empty Glass Lounge
Victor and Jack enter the bar and look around. Victor sees Nikki passed out at a table and hurries over to her and takes her gently by the arm, asking her to wake up.
Nikki groggily raises her head. “Victor?”
Victor kisses her head gently, and she realizes Jack is with him.
Nikki shakes her head at Jack and protests, “No, no no! What did you do?!” She asks Jack why he brought Victor to see her… Why would he do that to her?
Victor says Jack didn’t bring him… He knew she was there. He asks her to get up and come home with him.
Nikki tells Jack she confided in him. This is his fault!
Jack doesn’t say a word.
Victor tries to calm Nikki, telling her everything will be alright.
Nikki shakes her head. Nothing will be alright!
Victor helps her to her feet with Jack’s help.
Jack takes her purse and holds the door as Victor helps her out.
Crimson Lights
Daniel explains to Devon that he and Heather agreed to put their relationship on hold until Daniel talks to Lily.
Devon says that’s really nice… It’s the least he could do. He says Daniel is still living a lie every time he talks to Lily. If he didn’t know better, he’d think Daniel is afraid to have the conversation with her. He says Daniel’s life must be great because he’s able to sneak around behind Lily’s back while she’s on the other side of the country.
Daniel says nobody’s “sneaking around.” He’d be willing to fly to California right now if Devon thinks she’s ready to hear it.
Devon doesn’t say anything.
Daniel says that’s his point… He’d tell her everything if he thought she was ready to hear the news.
Devon asks if he’s spoken to Lily since he and Heather got together.
Daniel nods. He has.
Devon asks how the conversation went; did he just pretend that everything was cool while he was talking to her?
Daniel says that Lily needs their support right now more than anything. If he can lend an ear and help her to support her daughter in a time of need, then he will. He’ll keep doing it as long as she needs him to.
Devon says that it may help Daniel sleep easier at night, thinking he’s helping Lily, but he’s put Devon in a difficult position by making him keep Daniel’s secret from his sister.
Daniel’s Apartment
Heather tells her daughter that she understands her worries but tells her that she’s seen the look in Daniel’s eyes when they’re together, and she’s heard the love in his voice. She says Daniel wants them together as a family, too, so Lucy needs to believe in her father. They just need to be patient!
Lucy sighs and says, “Patience sucks.”
Heather agrees. They need to let Daniel handle it his way, though.
Lucy says it’s a deal, but a mochaccino would go a long way to making her more cooperative!
Heather laughs and agrees to take Lucy to Crimson Lights for coffee.
They get their coats on and prepare to leave when Danny walks in. Heather and Lucy invite him out for a coffee.
Danny says he’ll pass… Not today.
Heather asks if he’s okay.
Danny says his head is in his new album, and he’s struggling with some lyrics.
Lucy says he’s a genius, and whatever he comes up with will be epic. She hugs him and leaves the apartment with her mother.
Heather glances back at Danny curiously as they leave.
The Athletic Club
Phyllis can’t believe Diane is running Jabot with Jack.
Diane says she’s co-CEO… She knew Phyllis would be thrilled.
Phyllis says she doesn’t think karma is playing its role.
Diane says she thinks she’s exactly where she should be.
Phyllis laughs. Diane’s exactly where she schemed to be when she came back from the dead.
Diane says they don’t need to revisit the “back-from the dead” thing… After all, Phyllis came back from the dead, too!
Phyllis says it’s impressive… Diane has everything she came for; Jack’s ring on her finger, and his company under her thumb!
Diane says she didn’t scheme to get the position… In fact, she begged Jack to rehire Kyle as co-CEO, but he insisted that Diane was perfect for the job, and Kyle agreed.
Phyllis figures Diane manipulated the situation somehow.
Diane says Phyllis’s “glow” seems to have faded… Is she okay?
Phyllis says it hasn’t faded and thanks Diane for her concern. She lowers her voice and says there’s a special someone in her life who cares for her. She says it’s so much better than Diane getting a “pity position” from her husband. She leaves the lobby and heads into the dining room.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack comes home and removes his coat and scarf, tossing them carelessly onto a chair. He rubs his head and pours himself a drink.
Flashback.
Jack is arguing with Victor. He says he knows Victor has been spending a lot of time with his wife. He says they’ve been talking for weeks, but Victor hasn’t mentioned a word to him about it.
Victor says someone had informed him that his ex-wife and mother of his children was drinking again… And that someone who told him wasn’t Jack!
Jack told Victor it wasn’t his problem anymore. Nikki is his wife now.
Victor told Jack that if Nikki was his wife, he wouldn’t have let this tragedy happen to her!
Diane comes home, and her arrival pulls Jack out of his reverie. She says she just had a ridiculous run-in with Phyllis. Jack doesn’t say anything, and she asks what’s wrong.
Jack says Victor knows that Jack is Nikki’s sponsor… He couldn’t keep the secret any longer.
Diane cringes and says Jack told Victor even though Nikki didn’t want him to.
Jack says he hates that he broke Nikki’s confidence, but the situation was impossible.
Diane is glad Jack told Victor… He’d said that secrets can hinder recovery.
Jack says lack of trust can hinder it, too… And he thinks he’s lost Nikki’s trust.
Diane asks what happened.
Jack says he and Victor dragged Nikki from a dive bar; she was mortified that Victor saw her there and blames Jack. He’s scared Nikki will push him away.
Diane tells him not to worry; he did the right thing. She asks how Victor reacted.
Jack says Victor calmed down after a bit. He thinks Victor saw the sense in him being Nikki’s sponsor.
Diane says that’s more generous than she expected. Does Jack think Victor will let him continue to be Nikki’s sponsor?
Jack says Victor doesn’t get to sweep him aside. This is bigger than Victor, and he doesn’t get to call the shots this time!
Crimson Lights
Daniel tells Devon he’s sorry he put him in this position. He wants Devon to know he cares deeply for Lily, and he wants to remain friends with her. He says he’s not lying when he says he wants to be there for her.
Devon nods. He asks what Heather thinks about having to put their affair on hold.
Daniel says Heather likes Lily and understands that Daniel needs to be upfront with her.
Devon laughs and says he can tell how much Heather likes Lily… Her actions after Lily left town speak for themselves.
Daniel asks Devon not to bring Heather into this.
Devon asks Daniel why not… Does it make him feel like a hero to defend his ex while he’s cheating on Lily? He says things will be complicated because they work together, too.
Daniel says they’ll all have to find a way to be professional about it.
Devon says that’s easy to say when you’re the person who’s doing the dumping.
Daniel says he didn’t plan this… Getting back together with Heather was the furthest thing from his mind. He’s trying to figure out how to do right by everyone in the situation.
Devon says he understands what Daniel’s trying to do, but he thinks Lily deserves better than the way Daniel is treating her.
Daniel agrees. He hates it, too. He says Devon isn’t really in a place to pass judgment on him. He knows what went on between Devon and Abby when he was with Amanda. He says Devon probably never intended to hurt Amanda, but it’s hard to control what the heart wants.
Devon says he didn’t want to hurt Amanda.
Daniel asks if Devon feels like he’s where he belongs with Abby and Dominic.
Devon says he sees what Daniel’s getting at, but it doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t want to see his sister get hurt. She’s battled cancer, lost both of her parents, went to jail, and she broke up with Billy not long ago. It feels like it’s too much to pile up on her.
Daniel says he knows, and that’s why he wants to have a face-to-face conversation with her. He says Lily was his first love, and she’s one of his oldest friends. He wants nothing but the best for her.
Devon says if that’s all true… What happened between them?

The Newman Limousine
Victor tells his security team to make sure nobody in the bar mentions that Nikki was there. He says if the bar serves her another drink, he’ll shut the place down. He hangs up.
Nikki rubs her head, and Victor offers her some water. She groans that she’s a mess. She says she hates Victor to see her like this; it’s humiliating. She asks why Jack was with him.
Victor says Jack came to talk to him and told him that he was Nikki’s sponsor. Why in the world did she choose Jack, of all people, to be her sponsor? Why did she keep it from him?
Nikki says Victor hates Jack; she didn’t want to upset him. She groans that she’s become a burden on Victor. She wanted to work on her problem by herself with the help of a sponsor… Someone who understands the struggle because they’ve been through it. She says Victor can’t understand the way another addict does.
Victor asks why she chose Jack as her sponsor. Now, he’s going to be an intimate part of their lives!
Nikki says she never chose Jack over Victor. She’ll still lean on Victor; she always will! When it comes to AA matters, Jack is more knowledgeable.
Victor says Jack broke his word to Nikki by telling Victor about his sponsorship.
Nikki says Jack did the right thing. She begs Victor not to take Jack’s sponsorship away from her. She says she’s not ready to go home yet; she needs to eat something, and then they should go to see Jack.
Victor asks why she wants to see Jack… He practically gave her permission to drink!
Nikki says he never did anything of the kind. They need to go see him so Victor can understand why he’s the best sponsor for her.
Victor thinks there must be other options.
Nikki says if Victor wants her to fight her disease, he needs to understand how she needs to fight it.
Victor says he wants to help her fight her disease, but he can’t get over the idea that Jack Abbott is helping her. He sighs and says that they will go see Jack, but not to think for one moment that he won’t give him a piece of his mind!
Crimson Lights
Daniel tells Devon nothing was wrong between him and Lily. Their relationship was very “in-the-moment” and they hadn’t thought of the future.
Devon asks if Daniel sees a future with himself and Heather.
Daniel says there’s no question… Things are right for him, Heather, and Lucy. He knows how lucky he is, and he won’t take it for granted again.
Devon nods. He says Daniel has to do what he has to do… But if Lily asks him, he won’t lie to her.
Daniel understands.
Heather and Lucy enter the cafe and walk up to the table.
Devon smiles and says hello. He wishes them a good night and leaves the coffee shop.
Heather asks Daniel if everything’s alright.
Daniel nods. He thinks so.
Lucy asks if he wants to get a mochaccino with them.
Daniel says he thought she was supposed to be doing her homework.
Lucy scoffs and says her homework is easy; there’s plenty of time for it. She says grandpa (Daniel) wanted to work on his music and seemed upset.
Daniel says he’ll go check on his dad. He asks them to pick up a couple of mochaccinos and bring them back with them when they’re finished.
Lucy goes to the counter and places an order.
Heather tells Daniel that his conversation with Devon looked “serious.”
Daniel says Devon is worried about Lily and what the news will do to her, but he knows where things stand and that Daniel will tell Lily when the time is right.
Heather says she hopes it’s sooner rather than later.
Daniel smiles and says he’ll see her back at the apartment. He leaves.
Lucy brings over their drinks and proposes a toast to her mom. “To being a family again!”
They clink mugs as Phyllis walks in and greets them. She asks what they’re toasting.
Lucy says they’re toasting to having a great day.
Phyllis says with their smiles being so wide, she thought it would be something more important. She asks where Daniel is… He’s missing their celebration!
Heather says Daniel went to check on his dad… Apparently, something was bothering Danny.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane asks Jack what he plans to do next.
Jack says when Nikki’s sober, he’ll talk to her and tell her why he broke his promise and told Victor about sponsoring her… And then he’ll have to listen to Victor blame him for Nikki’s latest slip.
Diane tells Jack it’s not his fault; he can only help her as much as she lets him.
Jack says he won’t let this disease break his friend. She needs all the help she can get.
The doorbell rings. Diane answers. It’s Nikki and Victor. Diane lets them in.
Jack says he thought Victor was taking Nikki home to the ranch.
Nikki says it was her decision to come to the Abbott’s house.
Victor warns that things aren’t finished between him and Jack.
Jack nods. Okay.
Victor can see that Diane knows about Nikki. He says, “So much for discretion.” He asks her not to say a word to anyone.
Diane says she already told Nikki that she wouldn’t say anything. Her struggle is private, and she respects that. She says she forgot something at the office and excuses herself. She leaves the house.
Jack invites the Newmans to have a seat. He asks how Nikki is feeling.
Nikki says she’s feeling steadier and better.
Jack says she must be there because she’s angry at him for telling Victor about being her sponsor.
Nikki says she was angry, but she understands why Jack told Victor the truth. She says Jack is a man of integrity, and it was the right thing to do, even though she disagreed at first, he said from the beginning that they shouldn’t keep it from Victor.
Jack says he hopes Victor will listen to the words coming out of her mouth, because he didn’t believe it when he told him.
Nikki says it’s true; it was her decision to keep Jack’s sponsorship from Victor because she knew he would be upset. She wanted to get better without burdening Victor any more.
Victor says Nikki knows he’d go through hell for her.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel walks into his apartment and sees his dad working on his music at the table. He says he heard that Danny was in a bit of a funk… How’s he doing?
Danny says he’s just preoccupied with the album.
Daniel says he knows there’s something wrong. He says that when his dad works on an album, he’s always excited and happy, but he’s not happy right now, and he passed off a caffeine hit with two of his favorite people… What’s up with that?
Danny says, “Romance is a pain in the neck. That’s what’s up!”
Daniel laughs. He says he thought things were moving along with Christine.
Danny nods. He says it’s not just Christine; it’s Phyllis, too.
Daniel asks what his mom has done now.
Danny says he was happy with how things were progressing with Christine, but then Phyllis told him how she felt. He declined her advances more than once, but Phyllis kissed him, and Christine saw it, and now they both think it’s much more than it really is.
Daniel asks how he let that happen… He thought he knew Phyllis better than that!
Danny says he’s not helping.
Daniel asks what he’s going to do.
Danny says he needs to step back from both of them. If he doesn’t back off, they won’t back away from each other!
Daniel figures that they’re in a love triangle again.
Danny says it’s not really a triangle, but it’s messier than it has ever been.
Daniel says Danny doesn’t owe Phyllis anything.
Danny says Phyllis made a lot of mistakes, but she’s trying to make amends for them. He can’t just cut her off because she and Christine can’t stand each other… She deserves more! He says Daniel should trust his decision.
Daniel says he can understand why Christine would be uncomfortable with Danny’s decision to support Phyllis.
Danny says he told them he needed to take a step back, and he’s been throwing himself into his music and trying not to think about it.
Daniel says he knows how his dad feels…You think you’re on the right path, and the next thing you know, your whole world is derailed.
Danny doesn’t think they’re talking about him anymore.
Daniel drops the bomb. He says he’s back together with Heather.
Danny asks when that happened; does Lily know about it?
Daniel says it’s new and he needs to tell Lily face-to-face, but it’s not a good time to tell her. He and Heather have agreed to keep things quiet until he tells Lily.
Danny nods. He asks if Lucy knows about it.
Daniel says she does, and he hopes she can keep it to herself.
Danny says Heather was the love of his life, and they were happy together with Lucy until things changed.
Daniel says he’s aware, and that’s why it’s so important to him. Everything fell into place… Heather is willing to give him a second chance, and she’s continued to love him.
Danny is happy for his son.
Daniel says he has to tell Lily about it; it’s killing him to keep it from her.
Danny says Daniel will find the right words when it’s time. He asks if Daniel has any advice for his dad about Phyllis and Christine.
Daniel says, “Buckle up, buttercup.” There’s a knock at the door, and he opens it to reveal Phyllis standing in the hall.
Danny sighs and turns away.
Phyllis says she just saw Daniel’s “girls” at Crimson Lights and thought it’d be nice to go for dinner since they’re out and about.
Daniel’s phone rings. He excuses himself to talk to Lily. Daniel tells Lily that he misses her too and asks how Mattie is doing.
Phyllis grins and lets herself into the apartment, closing the door behind her. She runs her fingers over Danny’s piano and asks him how his writing is coming along.
Danny asks what she’s doing there.
Phyllis says she came over to ask Daniel to dinner, but seeing Danny is a pleasant surprise.
Danny says the agreed on taking a break.
Phyllis says she heard that Danny has feelings for her.
Danny says he has feelings for her as a friend.
Phyllis tells Danny she knows she’s a wildcard, but it means so much to her that they can talk and laugh together. She says she’s sorry, but she just feels really good around him.
Danny says she seems sincere, but then she proves she isn’t by doing something like posting that video to social media.
Phyllis says they talked about that already… This is about her and Danny!
Danny says there is no “you and me.”
Phyllis tells him to listen. She knows she’s done horrible things in her past and feels she’s taken responsibility for them. She’s done things she regrets, and she’s sure that’s why he’s backing off. If he would give her a chance, he might realize that she gave him something he didn’t know he needed.
Danny says it’s not going to happen.
Phyllis won’t take no for an answer. She says she wouldn’t mind if he tried.
Daniel walks back into the apartment.
Danny is relieved to not be alone with Phyllis. He asks Daniel how Lily is doing and if everything is alright.
Daniel says Lily is good.
Danny nods and looks uncomfortable. He says he has to get back to the studio. He leaves the apartment as Phyllis calls after him.
Daniel asks if Phyllis is happy.
Phyllis says she was just talking to his father.
Daniel says she’s putting Danny into an impossible position.
Phyllis says she’s meant to be together with Danny, but it’s not happening because Christine keeps getting between them. She thinks they’re kismet, just like Daniel and Heather. She says Danny will see it.
In the hallway, Danny waits for the elevator. When it arrives, Christine steps off. Danny smiles uncertainly at her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack asks Nikki what her plans are with him.
Nikki says she doesn’t want to change anything.
Victor says there must be others in Nikki’s AA group who could be her sponsor.
Nikki says she can’t take any chances… She could end up with another Seth. She needs someone she can count on, and she knows Jack won’t let her down.
Victor says Jack has made things worse. Jack knew she was on a binge and lured him away from that “dive bar,” when he could have stayed and helped her!
Nikki says nothing that happened was Jack’s fault; it was hers.
Victor thinks Jack’s “interference” made things worse.
Nikki says her sobriety was violently taken from her by a woman who could still be a threat, and she’s trying hard to regain her sobriety. She’s so overwhelmed some days that she can’t fight, and she needs a sponsor that she can have faith in; it can’t be someone from her meetings.
Nikki says she and Jack have years of history, and they understand each other. She knows it upsets Victor, but he can’t help her inside the program, and she won’t accept any other sponsor than Jack. She needs Victor to respect her decision.
Victor says he disagrees with it, but since it’s Nikki’s wish, he’ll abide by it. He tells Jack that if anything happens to Nikki, he’ll have hell to pay!

Philly is needs to stop and Christine they really beginning to look stupid . Daniel and his wife need to leave and go back where they come from with this mess they doing to lily and Heather needs to be fired ☺️
Everything is moving so slooow. These story lines should be over and done. How many times do we have to see Phylly and the “Bug” act like Jr hi girls? and “My Baby” sober up? I agree, Daniel, Heather and their manipulating, spoiled, entitled brat; back by where they came from.
Nikki is really playing the alcoholic role well. The writers are wringing all they can from that storyline. This storyline has the most potential if they don’t drag out it out with “that woman Jordan”. Danny, Phyllis, and Christine need to stop acting like teenagers. This is not an interesting storyline for their age group. They are all immature.
Daniel needs to go ahead and tell Lily that he’s going back to Heather. When she gets back they can create some real tension between them.
Develop the romance with Chance and Summer. Let Kyle get jealous. Come on it’s supposed to be the Young and Restless, not the old and stupid.
