Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Claire revealed that Jordan had planned to use fire to get out of an “emergency”, and Nikki’s desperate text to Jack prompted him to reach out to Victor.
Crimson Lights
Christine walks into the cafe and sees Danny sitting and drinking a coffee. She says hello.
Danny smiles/cringes and says he hasn’t seen her since…
Christine says it was since she caught him kissing Phyllis.
Danny apologizes. He says it was a mess, and he’s been laying low to focus his creativity.
Christine nods. She says his silence speaks volumes; he doesn’t really know what he wants.
Phyllis skips into the coffee house and runs over to Danny, grinning. “Look who’s finally come up for air!”
Danny smiles at her and says hello.
Society
Traci enters the restaurant, and Abby runs up and hugs her, welcoming her back from Paris. Traci says she just got back.
Abby asks where her mom is.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Tucker nuzzles Audra’s neck. Audra asks why he’s stalling… Why won’t he just tell her his plan?
Tucker says he’s not stalling… He’s crazy about her! He has an idea… They should take a bath, and he’ll tell her all about his plan while they’re in the tub!
Audra says she knows he’s dodging now.
Tucker says he was just testing to make sure she was on board, and it seems she is. He says they can talk business.
Audra says she wants him to tell her what his plans are for them both… And don’t skip any details!
Tucker laughs that Audra is so eager to find out his “master plan!”
The Empty Glass Lounge
Nikki stumbles through the bar and laughs as she sends Jack a drunken text message. “Tank you!”
Nikki’s phone rings a moment later. It’s Jack. Nikki answers, laughing.
Jack asks how she is… Where is she?
Nikki says Victor’s security guys followed her, and then Victor was there, too. It’s too suffocating! Can’t she have a moment alone to think?
Jack tells her that wherever she is, she needs to leave and go home. He says he’ll send a car for her… Text him the address.
Nikki tells him not to send her a car… She can take a rideshare!
Jack insists.
Nikki argues for a minute but agrees. She tells him she’ll send him the address when she hangs up.
Jack tells her not to forget and to text him when she gets home. He says he’s at Victor’s office and waiting to meet with him.
Nikki’s not happy to hear that. She asks what excuse Jack is making to meet with Victor.
Victor steps out of the elevator behind Jack, and Jack tells Nikki he’s got to go… He’ll talk to her later.
Victor asks Jack what he wants to talk about.
Jack hates that it’s come to this. What’s happening isn’t fair to Victor and will end now.
Victor raises his eyebrows.
Nikki stumbles to a seat in the bar, and a server brings her a drink. Nikki takes a big sip and sighs in delight.
Victor and Jack make themselves comfortable in Victor’s office. Victor asks Jack what he wants to tell him about his wife.
Jack says Victor was suspicious when they talked the other day. He says he didn’t run into Nikki at the AA meeting. He went there with her in case she needed someone to lean on.
Victor nods. He suspected Nikki had more difficulty dealing with her addiction than she let on.
Jack says it may surprise Victor, but Jack’s been acting as Nikki’s sponsor.
Victor crosses his arms and asks why he didn’t know that sooner.
Jack says Nikki was adamant that Victor didn’t know about it.
Victor says he’s Nikki’s husband, and he worries about her.
Jack says Nikki knows. She doesn’t want to be a burden.
Victor says it’s absurd. She wouldn’t ever be a burden! He says Nikki doesn’t want him to know that Jack’s her sponsor because she knows Victor would be angry about it!
Jack says Nikki thought Victor wouldn’t understand, and apparently, she was right. He says Nikki is dealing with a lot of guilt, and the last thing she needs is a confrontation about her choice of sponsor. Jack says Victor should have known about it from the start and shouldn’t have been kept in the dark about her condition or her recovery.
Victor sighs. He says they can both agree on that.
Jack says Nikki needs both their help and support right now. The stress of keeping this secret has put her in a precarious state.
Society
Traci and Abby are seated at a table and talking over mugs of coffee. Traci tells Abby that Ashley decided to stay in Paris a while longer.
Abby asks Traci how she could leave her mother in Paris after everything she’s been through.
Traci says she had no choice; Abby knows her mom wouldn’t take no for an answer! She says Ashley isn’t alone; she told Traci she has a friend she can confide in and discuss things with.
Abby asks if Traci has met Ashley’s friend.
Traci says she didn’t; Ashley didn’t tell her who it was. She says she wanted to bring the family up to speed… She thinks Ashley will need her family around her when she comes home, and they’ll need a “coordinated reaction” ready for her.
Abby looks confused. A coordinated reaction? She asks what happened in Paris and says she spoke briefly with her mother but didn’t get much information.
Traci says Ashley didn’t get the answer she was expecting from the waiter at the bistro. The waiter corroborated Tucker’s version of events, not Ashley’s.
Abby rolls her eyes. How convenient for Tucker.
Traci says Ashley suggested that Tucker probably bribed the waiter.
Abby nods. She wouldn’t put it past him.
Traci says she saw the waiter’s reaction firsthand, and he didn’t act like he was lying. She believes that the waiter and Tucker’s version is the truth.
Abby has difficulty believing Tucker McCall would tell the truth about anything. How could her mom have made such a massive mistake?
Traci says there’s more to the story than even Ashley knows.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Tucker pulls out a tablet and passes it to Audra, asking her to look at the list of companies on it and tell him what she thinks.
Audra says the five companies listed are fragrance and cosmetic businesses based in Europe. They used to be financial powerhouses but have all taken a hit lately. Two are on the verge of bankruptcy.
Tucker says that makes them very vulnerable. If they folded the companies into Glissade, they could create their own powerhouse that would rival Jabot.
Audra sighs. There it is. She says she thought Jabot was no longer on the table and didn’t matter to Tucker anymore, but she was obviously mistaken.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis tells Danny she thought he’d vanished off the face of the earth. She was about to send out a search party for him!
Danny grins awkwardly and says he’s still here.
Phyllis says Danny didn’t answer his phone calls. She talked to their son, but he wouldn’t tell her where his dad was.
Christine thinks Daniel was smart not to tell her.
Phyllis thanks Christine… Their son is smart! She starts reminiscing about when she and Danny were together, and he needed his “own personal zone” to go to so he could create his music.
Christine says of course Danny needed his space… He was married to Phyllis! Anyone would need all the space they could get under those circumstances!
Phyllis says she’d like to think she was an inspiration to Danny.
Danny tells Phyllis, “Enough.” He says he was telling Cricket that he was in the recording studio working on some new music, and he’s been “in the zone” and wrapped up in the new material. He tells Christine that the answer to her question is that he wants the “dynamic” between the three of them to end. He’s had enough.
Phyllis says, “The dynamic. This is fun.”
Christine says this is exactly what she didn’t want to happen. She made it clear that she wasn’t into a competition… Why doesn’t Phyllis come out and say it?
Phyllis says that Christine is a true lawyer… Building her case and never letting her guard down!
Christine shakes her head and says she’s not sticking around for this. She leaves and heads to the counter to order.
Danny takes Phyllis by the shoulder, pleading for her to stop.
Phyllis says she’s not doing anything. Christine is badgering the witness, and obviously, Danny has something to say about it… She tells Christine that she should just let him say it.
Christine says she knows Danny far too well, and she’s not sure she wants to hear what he has to say.
Phyllis says, for once, they can agree on something.
Christine doubts it.
Phyllis asks Danny if he wants to admit that he has feelings for her and wants to be with her, but that’ll be the last thing Christine wants to hear.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Tucker sits down and looks weary. He tells Audra he has no interest in Jabot, but he wants to prove that their new, more powerful company can best Jabot. He wants to command market share and lure away some of their customers.
Audra thinks Tucker wants to prove something to Ashley so she’ll realize she made a terrible mistake by walking away from him.
Tucker says he’s talking about consolidating six companies into one of the biggest companies of its kind, and he wants Audra to head it up. He tells her to think about it.
Audra asks what Tucker expects to get out of this.
Tucker says he wants the company to be a success, and he wants to be “re-legitimized” in the corporate world. Once Glissade makes its debut, the dirt from the scandal will wash away, and he’ll be a respected player again, with Audra by his side, if she agrees.
Audra asks if Tucker cares about running Jabot out of business.
Tucker says it’s a bonus, but it’s not his goal.
Audra doesn’t believe him.
Tucker says it shouldn’t matter to her if he gets a few slaps at Jabot… All that matters is that they come out on top.

Abby asks Traci what else she found out in Paris.
Traci says she did a little digging of her own. She asked the other bistro staff if anybody remembered the episode.
Abby asks if anyone else witnessed it.
Traci says that everyone who saw it corroborated Tucker’s version of events. She says it wasn’t the violent scene that Ashley seems to remember. There were no shattered glasses or overturned chairs, but they remember the loud argument… It wasn’t the confrontation that Ashley recalled.
Abby says she thinks Tucker would bribe the whole city of Paris to make his point.
Traci says it’s true, but she doesn’t think that’s the case. She believes what Tucker described is actually what happened. She says the waitstaff weren’t lying to her or trying to cover anything up.
Abby asks what her mom said when Traci told her.
Traci says she hasn’t told Ashley yet. She felt it was better to break it to her when she was home and surrounded by family.
Abby says she’s not Tucker’s biggest fan, but she doesn’t believe anyone should be accused of something they didn’t do. She’s torn; her mom is so certain of what she’d seen.
Traci says it will be very unsettling for Ashley when she finds out… That’s why she wants to prepare the family for it.
Abby says it’s unlike her mom… She doesn’t exaggerate or lie, intentionally or unintentionally! How can their stories be so different, and how will her mom wrap her head around it?
Traci says it won’t be easy, but Ashley needs to come to terms with it, and the family needs to help.
Abby asks where they start.
Traci says she has to talk to Jack but hasn’t been able to reach him all day… Has Abby heard from him?
Abby says she hasn’t.
Traci tells Abby that if she sees Jack, to let him know she’s back in town and needs to see him as soon as possible.
Newman Enterprises
Victor talks through it with Jack. Nikki was at the bar hiding from him, and then she called Jack and asked him to lure Victor away to a meeting?
Jack confirms that’s what happened. He says he didn’t know where Nikki was when she called him.
Victor says Nikki wanted to convince Jack to help her conceal her drinking from him.
Jack nods. That was the case.
Victor says Jack knew she was in some “dive bar” getting drunk, and yet he concealed it from Victor. He says Jack isn’t helping Nikki; he’s giving her permission to drink more!
Society
Traci stands up and hugs Abby goodbye. She says she’ll be in touch when she gets ahold of Jack and tells Abby to try not to worry about her mother. She leaves the restaurant.
Abby pulls out her phone and calls her mom. She leaves a voicemail asking for Ashley to call her back or, better yet… Come home. She tells her she loves her and ends the call.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra tells Tucker it matters if he lets his obsession with Ashley distract him from his goal… Again!
Tucker says Audra is the one who’s obsessed with Ashley… Who’s jealous now?
Audra says she’s not playing that game with him.
Tucker says he’s not playing games; he doesn’t have time for games.
Audra says Tucker has a lot of work ahead of him if he wants to pull this off. She agrees that it would be a dream position for her. She asks where Tucker will get the money to buy the companies.
Tucker says he’s never had any problems raising capital. There’s a sea of it out there, and he’s fishing with dynamite!
They kiss.
Newman Enterprises
Jack gets up, offended, and tells Victor he’s way off base; Jack isn’t encouraging Nikki’s drinking, he’s encouraging her sobriety!
Victor says Jack is covering for Nikki while she gets drunker by the minute.
Jack says he can’t rip the glass out of his hand. Victor should stop focusing on Nikki’s lapse and think about what drove her over the edge this time.
Victor says he knows… She’s his wife!
Jack says he’s her sponsor, and she trusts him. She turns to Jack because she doesn’t have to worry about his feelings; Nikki needs them both. He asks Victor if he’ll allow them both to help her.
Victor says he has to be honest with Jack. He’s damn worried about Nikki.
The Empty Glass Lounge
Nikki’s phone rings. She answers and hears burlesque music playing.
Nikki laughs and slurs into the phone, “I hope you’re coming for me, Jordan!” She dares her to come for her and says it’ll be the “biggest worst mistake you’ve ever made. I’ll wait for you… Bitch!” She hangs up the phone and stumbles to a different seat, where she looks out the window, saying she’s waiting.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis stands beside Christine and says Danny needs to make up his mind. Christine and Phyllis both need to know.
Danny says he’s been locked away in the recording studio and has had time to think and to be honest with himself.
Phyllis asks if his deep dive with honesty led him straight to her.
Danny says they’re both incredibly special to him and share a ton of history. His feelings have evolved.
Christine and Phyllis ask him what he’s trying to say.
Danny says he wants what’s best for Phyllis, and he wants to help her in any way he can, but he wants to be able to do it without all the drama.
Christine asks if Danny is lumping her in with Phyllis and her game-playing.
Danny says he doesn’t mean to, but maybe he is.
Newman Enterprises
Victor asks Jack why he’s coming clean about being Nikki’s sponsor now.
Jack says he can see how worrying about Nikki is tearing Victor up. He says the disease makes the family suffer as much as the person with the addiction.
Victor can’t believe Jack is doing it for him.
Jack says he may not believe it, but he is. He says he didn’t want Victor to hear he was Nikki’s sponsor from anyone but Nikki or himself.
Victor says Jack’s clearly not helping Nikki… She’s still drinking!
Jack says there’s been progress, and things don’t happen overnight. Nikki knows when she’s in trouble and can call for help. He says Nikki had called him before she reached for the bottle.
Victor says Nikki needs him and his family.
Jack says she needs everyone’s help, and Nikki doesn’t want Victor to see how much she’s struggling. She doesn’t want Victor to know that she depends on someone else’s support other than Victor. He says keeping secrets will only make things worse, and that’s why he’s there… He doesn’t want things to get worse.
Victor nods. “Alright.” He says he would never blame Nikki for any of this.
Jack says he has the same goal as Victor; they both want to help Nikki achieve a stable sobriety.
Victor sighs deeply. He says they can agree on that.
Jack says maybe they can agree that Jack is the right person to be Nikki’s sponsor. He’s suited to it and knows, from experience, what she’s going through. He knows what it will take to overcome the addiction, too. He says it’s not a short-term process, but Nikki wants it, and it’s important to her. He hopes Victor will let him do whatever he can to help her.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Traci enters the club lobby as Tucker and Audra descend the stairs.
Tucker greets Traci. “Bonjour!” He says she’s back from Paris “so soon.”
Traci says she finds it odd that Tucker is keeping track of her.
Tucker knows Traci went to Paris with Ashley. He says Ashley refused to accept the truth after facing it, but he’s sure Traci knows his story is true. He hopes Traci can convince Ashley that he isn’t lying.
Traci tells Tucker they can’t talk about Ashley anymore. She won’t discuss Ashley’s thoughts or feelings about anything with him… She doesn’t think he has any right to that information anymore! She says she’s a little disgusted with him.
Tucker says there was a time when Traci could be civil with him, but now, a friendly conversation seems to be too much for her.
Traci says no matter what the truth is, she won’t get into it with him. There’s no connection between Tucker and Ashley anymore!
Tucker laughs. He says the truth is that Ashley created a false narrative to justify ending things with him.
Traci says that either way, things are finished between him and Ashley. She asks him to move on and leave her sister alone, and she leaves the club.
Audra tells Tucker that the interaction with Traci really got under his skin.
Tucker says it didn’t. Traci’s right; he and Ashley are finished, and he’s moving on.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis tells Danny she was right; he does have feelings for her! She asks Danny when he realized it… Was it when she came to Daniel’s apartment, and he kissed her? Or was it when he played her his song, and he kissed her again?
Christine says Danny didn’t say any of that.
Phyllis says she heard everything Danny said, but a lot was left unsaid because Danny didn’t want to hurt Christine.
Christine says she won’t stay around and be attacked. She turns to leave.
Danny stops Christine and asks her to stay. He says he’s trying to cool things down and doesn’t want to worsen the situation.
Christine says Danny is buying into Phyllis’s garbage.
Danny says he only feels friendship for Phyllis.
Phyllis darts in, smiling, and asks if he kisses all his friends like that.
Danny tells Phyllis not to twist things; he doesn’t condone her game-playing. She shouldn’t have posted that video on social media!
Phyllis says it was an incredible moment for her, just like every moment she spends with him.
Danny says she was pretending there was something romantic between them when there clearly isn’t.
Phyllis says she doesn’t know about that; feelings are feelings! She asks if he saw how many likes the video got.
Danny says he doesn’t care about the likes; that was for an audience of one!
Christine agrees.
Phyllis says Christine knew how Danny felt before he did.
Danny says he’s been free from romantic entanglements for a while, and he’s beginning to think that he likes it that way… Maybe that’s the best way for him to live his life!
Phyllis asks if he means it.
Danny says he cares about them both, but his feelings for them are completely different. He says it’s not enough for either one of them. Phyllis declares they’re “meant to be,” and Christine tells him he can’t be friends with his son’s mother.
Christine says she never said that.
Danny suggests they all step back and let the situation cool off. He thinks that’s best for everyone involved. He grabs his coffee and leaves the cafe.
Christine yells at Phyllis, saying she always seems to find a way to ruin everything for everyone around her.
Phyllis says Christine can’t paint her as the bad guy in this situation. She’s not ruining anything except for Christine’s “eternal fantasy” to be with Danny.
Christine laughs and says Phyllis knows all about fantasy worlds since she lives in them.
Phyllis says that “Poor bug” can’t see that Danny isn’t really into her and that Phyllis is a temptation.
Christine shakes her head and says Phyllis throws herself at Danny every chance she gets; it’s embarrassing! She says Phyllis won’t take no for an answer.
Phyllis says Danny said he cared about her.
Christine says Danny’s right about one thing… Phyllis needs to take a deep breath and step back right now.
Phyllis says Christine is a control freak who is desperate to hang onto Danny after Paul dumped her. She needed a rebound lover so she could stay warm at night.
Christine tells her not to go there.
Phyllis says, “Or what? You don’t scare me!” She says if Christine wants a war, she’ll get one… And they’ll see who wins!
Christine nods. The gauntlet’s been thrown! She leaves the cafe.
The GCAC Dining Room
Audra says she finds it strange how protective people are of Ashley… Traci was ready to tear Tucker apart if he said one more word about her!
Tucker says the whole family hates outsiders. He says Jack is the only one in a relationship, and it’s only a matter of time before the family drives her away. He says he was an idiot not to realize how codependent they all are.
Audra says it finally sounds like Tucker means it and is ready to move on. She asks if he’s ready to move on from the “greatest love of his life.”
Tucker says Ashley Abbott is dead to him. Does he need to do something to prove it to her?
The Abbott Mansion
Traci enters the house and calls out for Jack, but there’s no answer.
Traci pulls out her phone and calls Jack, leaving another voicemail for him. She says they need to talk and devise a strategy to help Ashley… She’s worried about her!
Newman Enterprises / The Empty Glass Lounge
Jack tells Victor he has to understand that Nikki asked him to be her sponsor… This is Nikki’s call, not Victor’s.
Jack’s phone rings. It’s Nikki. He answers and asks if she’s alright. Did the car he sent arrive?
Nikki slurs that she’s still at the bar and needs Jack’s help.
Jack tells her to stay where she is; he’s on his way. He hangs up and tells Victor that Nikki is calling for help and is still at the bar.
Victor tells Jack to wait… He’s coming with him.
Jack and Victor leave the office together.
