Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Victor reluctantly accepted Jack as Nikki’s sponsor, Phyllis tested Danny’s limits, and Daniel reminded Devon he’s no saint.
Daniel’s Apartment
Phyllis tells Daniel that what’s going on between him and Heather is the same thing that’s going on between her and Danny… Why can’t he accept that?
Daniel says they’re not talking about his situation right now. This is about Phyllis making problems for Danny and Christine… It feels like Phyllis is up to her old tricks again and not having respect for other people’s boundaries.
Phyllis asks Daniel if someone’s been whispering in his ear. She says that the feelings between her and Danny are completely mutual.
Daniel asks what she meant when she said that Danny will wake up one day and the two of them will be together… That doesn’t sound like a mutual attraction!
Phyllis mumbles something about fate and destiny.
Daniel doesn’t buy it. He says it sounds like Phyllis is more concerned about beating Christine than she has feelings for his father.
In the hallway outside, Christine has just stepped out of the elevator, and Danny is talking with her.
Danny asks what brought her there.
Christine says she came to see Danny… After their run-in with Phyllis at the coffee shop, they need to clear the air. She asks if they can go inside and talk.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane enters the living room and asks Jack how things went between him, Nikki, and Victor.
Jack says he thought Nikki would never forgive him, but she insisted that Jack remain her sponsor.
Diane’s surprised. She asks how Victor took it.
Jack says Nikki had to fight Victor about it, but he finally agreed.
Diane says it’s touching that Victor realizes Jack can help Nikki. She hopes the “truce” between Victor and Jack will last as long as Nikki needs Jack.
Jack says Victor isn’t a fan of the arrangement, and his acceptance came with a warning… If anything happens to Nikki on Jack’s watch, he’ll pay for it.
Society
Nate enters the restaurant and sees Audra sitting at the bar, enjoying a glass of wine. He asks if he can join her.
Audra says she’s not expecting anyone.
Nate sits down and says he’s surprised she’s not meeting with Tucker. Every time he sees her and Tucker together, they seem to be growing closer.
Audra asks if Nate is keeping an eye on her.
Nate says he’s curious about how her new game plan is going. Is public hand-holding part of her scheme, or is she actually falling under Tucker’s spell?
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Billy sits at the bar enjoying a drink when Tucker walks up and says hello. Billy says he was enjoying a quiet drink by himself.
Tucker says he doesn’t want to join Billy; he’s just curious as to whether Ashley is back from Paris yet… He thought she’d come back with Traci, but the “word on the street” is that she stayed in Paris.
Billy says his sister’s whereabouts are none of Tucker’s business.
Tucker says he begs to differ.
Billy says Ashley is done with Tucker; he should move on with his life. Oh, but wait, Tucker is a bitter, hollow man who feeds on anger and revenge.
The Jabot Corporate Jet
Ashley sits on the jet, remembering her conversation with the waiter. The waiter had contradicted her memory and sided with Tucker; there was no violence.
Ashley thinks about her conversation with Tucker at the Athletic Club, where she thought he was trying to gaslight her about the fight. He’d said she was deliberately misremembering.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane asks if Jack is worried about Victor’s threat.
Jack says he’s not intimidated by Victor; he only cares about helping Nikki.
Diane says she’s sure Jack will help her. Where does he go from here?
Jack says he doesn’t have to sneak around behind Victor’s back. He says Diane has been very supportive through this, and he loves her for it.
Diane thanks him and says she has to ask him something and wants him to be honest about it… Does he really think he can help save Nikki from her alcoholism, or is she too far gone?
The GCAC Dining Room
The bartender brings Tucker a beer. Tucker tells Billy he has a lot of anger… He should work on it.
Billy says he finds it laughable that Tucker wants any information on his sister when she should have a restraining order against him.
Tucker says he wanted to know if Ashley was back so he could avoid running into her.
Billy nods. Sure.
Tucker says Ashley went to Paris to gather ammunition against him.
Billy says she went to defend herself against Tucker.
Tucker shakes his head and says Ashley is the angry one in search of revenge, not him! He wants to steer clear of her and protect himself against whatever attack she has planned next.
Billy can’t believe Tucker is trying to paint himself as a victim.
Tucker says he’ll never be anyone’s victim, but he’s prepared for someone to try to victimize him.
Billy reminds him that he wasn’t ready for the cover-up scandal to be revealed.
Tucker says he’s still standing… He doesn’t share Billy’s knack for failure!
Billy says his days of failure are over; he’s on top of the world now. He’s running a very successful company and is in a stable and loving relationship, and he has two amazing kids who actually like him and think he’s a great dad.
Tucker laughs and says Billy’s modest, to boot.
Billy says he has everything that Tucker will never have. He says Tucker is too self-absorbed to be in a compassionate relationship with give and take… All Tucker does is take. Poor Tucker is always on the outside of everything that matters in life!
Society
Audra asks Nate why he cares about her relationship with Tucker; Nate made it clear that he’s happy where he is and has no interest in any plan she has in the works. She says he has no ambitions left.
Nate says she’s trying to distract from his original question. He says it’s obvious she’s falling for Tucker, and he hopes it doesn’t cloud her judgment too much, or she may find herself out of another job.
Mamie joins them and sits beside Nate at the bar.
Nate asks Mamie if she’d like to sit at a table… It’s getting a little crowded at the bar.
Audra says she was just leaving; Mamie can have her seat.
Mamie says she wouldn’t want to rush Audra out.
Audra tells Nate not to worry about her; she knows exactly what she’s doing and has her eyes wide open. She leaves money on the bar and leaves the restaurant.
Mamie asks Nate what that was all about.
Daniel’s Apartment
Danny tells Christine that he’s just on his way to the recording studio.
Christine says their conversation won’t take long.
Danny says he doesn’t want to bother Daniel.
Christine asks if he’s making excuses.
Danny says he doesn’t feel like he has to; he made his feelings perfectly clear.
Christine knows Danny wanted to step back from the situation, but they were in the middle of a very honest conversation when Phyllis barged in. She just wants to finish the conversation they were having… Don’t they owe each other that much?
Danny says they do. They’ll have a coffee together before he has to get to the recording studio. He pushes the elevator call button.
Inside the apartment, Phyllis tells Daniel she’d never be careless with Danny’s feelings because of a petty feud. She’s hurt that Daniel would feel that way about her.
Daniel tells his mom not to play the “wounded act.” He saw her social media post, and she’s not fooling anyone… “That feeling you get when your ex plays you a love song.”
Phyllis says it was just social media. It was a beautiful song; who wouldn’t melt on hearing it?
Daniel says it’s fine to feel that way, but Phyllis posted it and tagged Danny and Christine. It was a calculated move.
Phyllis says she was happy in the moment and wanted to share it. She doesn’t know why Daniel has such a problem with her and Danny reconnecting.
Daniel says they were never that way before.
Phyllis tries to compare her situation with Daniel’s, saying it’s not “odd” that two people who have a child together are reconnecting now.
Daniel tells her not to compare them. It’s not the same.
Phyllis says she’s in the same situation as Heather.
Daniel says he won’t let his mom drag his situation into this; this is about Phyllis doing anything to get what she wants without regarding other people’s feelings!
Phyllis won’t apologize for going after what she wants. She doesn’t care what Christine feels.
Daniel says that’s all Phyllis cares about.
Phyllis says she only cares about building something with Danny. She says they have something special; how often does that come around in life?
Daniel says it feels like the only thing that matters to Phyllis is to make problems for Christine and rub her face in it… Besting her old rival is the only thing that makes her happy!
Phyllis can’t believe he feels that way about her.
Daniel says it’s hard to feel any different when she acts the way she does.
Phyllis says he couldn’t accept the old Phyllis. Why can’t he accept who she is now?
Daniel says he needs to see actual change. Phyllis has talked a good game for his and Summer’s sake, but he doesn’t see any difference!
Society
Nate tells Mamie that Audra is making a deal with the devil.
Mamie wonders if Nate is referring to Jill.
Nate says he’s talking about Tucker McCall.
Mamie is surprised she works with Tucker.
Nate says he’s trying to figure out whether Audra is actually partnering with Tucker or whether she has her own scheme.
Mamie asks why it matters to him.
Nate says they were colleagues and he considered her a friend, but he’s done worrying about her. It’s her decision to throw in with Tucker.
Mamie says Audra reminds her of a young Jill Abbott… Ambitious and scheming. She thinks Audra is a whole lot of trouble.
Nate says she’s a sharp judge of character.
Mamie says she’s an accurate judge of character and warns Nate to stay away from Audra. She says that, on a lighter note, her decision to bring Nate back to the family business was a great move.
Nate says it’s nice to be back, and working with Devon this time around is much smoother. He’s looking forward to building on that when Lily returns.
Mamie says everything seems to be going right for Nate, but she has a question… How are he and Billy getting along?
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker tells Billy he’s right… He is self-absorbed.
Billy can’t believe Tucker is actually being honest for once.
Tucker says self-absorption is the secret to his success. He tells Billy he can stop with his high-and-mighty routine… It’s insufferable. He knows that behind Billy’s act lives a ruthless person. How long before he needs his next fix? How long until he starts jonesing for his next big win? He figures Billy wouldn’t hesitate to use his new job to get it.
Billy says he doesn’t need power the way Tucker does.
Tucker says that maybe Billy will be the one to take over Jabot.
Billy scoffs and asks why he’d do that.
Tucker says it’d be the best way to get one up on Jack. He says he’d love to see that takeover unfold. He drops some bills on the bar and leaves the club.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Diane he believes that Nikki can be saved, but she’s got an uphill battle… One of the people who set her addiction in motion is her granddaughter!
Diane thinks it’s a lot to deal with. She has a lot of emotions to deal with while she tries to maintain her sobriety.
Jack says there’s a fear that Jordan might be on the loose, too.
Diane asks if Jack is endangering himself by helping Nikki.
Jack says Victor has his security team on full alert, and they have security of their own. He needs to be there for Nikki when she needs him; he needs to help her conquer her demons!
Diane loves that about Jack. She says there’s one more thing that’s been bothering her; Jack has been so caught up in Nikki’s crisis that it must have had an impact on him… Has he been tempted to start using again?
Jack says he hasn’t been tempted to start taking pain pills again. He can’t believe they’re even talking about it!
Diane says she worries that the stress will make him start thinking about it again.
Jack says seeing Nikki go through it only strengthens his resolve to stay clean.
Diane tears up and says she wants Jack to know that even if he does slip or feel like slipping, he can talk to her, and she’ll be there for him in any way she can.
Jack doesn’t doubt her. He says he’s grateful for her… She’s his rock.
They hug.
Crimson Lights
Christine and Danny sit at a table, talking over coffee. Christine asks Danny about what he said earlier; does he really think Christine doesn’t want him to be friends with Phyllis?
Danny says he knows she doesn’t want him to be friends with Phyllis.
Christine says she thought what was between them was real, and they were getting closer; Danny even made The Sauce. She says Phyllis was throwing herself at him when they started spending more time together.
Danny says he has feelings for them both, but in different ways. He says the situation blew up again.
Christine says it’s obvious that Phyllis is going after Daniel as a way to antagonize her.
Danny asks Christine if she thinks Phyllis might actually have feelings for him.
Christine shakes her head. She says Phyllis is incapable of having any real feelings… She’s a narcissist who only thinks about winning.
Danny, exasperated, says this is why he needs to step back. He’s a pawn in a battle between the two of them, and he’s tired of being stuck in the middle of their hatred.
Daniel’s Apartment
Phyllis asks Daniel why he’s even wasting his time talking to her if she hasn’t changed.
Daniel says she’s his mother and he loves her, and he’s trying to salvage their relationship. He keeps trying to guide her in the right direction, but she keeps derailing herself… It’s frustrating to watch it happen over and over again!
Phyllis says he’s being condescending and degrading. She says she shouldn’t have come there to see him.
They’re both upset. Daniel yells that she didn’t even come to see him… She came there to see his dad, who’s tied up in knots about this whole situation!
Phyllis asks if Danny actually said that.
Daniel says she’s not listening to him. He hates seeing his father like this!
Phyllis asks what about her… Doesn’t he hate seeing his mother like this? She says it’s “a dagger in her heart” that he’s taking Christine’s side on this.
Daniel says Christine and Danny actually have a relationship.
Phyllis says she and Danny has a connection that’s growing every day, but Daniel wants her to step aside so Christine can be with Danny. Phyllis says it kills her to hear that.
Daniel just looks at her blankly.
Phyllis continues ranting about Daniel being proof that Danny and her can make magic together, but Daniel wants his father with Christine instead.
Daniel says she’s twisting his words.
Phyllis says it warms her heart when she sees how much Lucy wants her parents back together, but it breaks her heart that Daniel doesn’t want the same thing for her. She says she doesn’t want to have dinner with him. She runs out the door.
Society
Nate tells Mamie things are fine between him and Billy. They’re civil to each other, and though things are strained sometimes, it’s nothing he sees as a problem.
Mamie says she thinks Nate should put more into their relationship. She tells Nate he should make Billy his new best friend.
Nate says that would require a lot of effort; what’s Mamie after?
Mamie says they need to know what Billy and – more importantly – Jill are up to.
Nate says it sounds like Mamie’s trying to stir things up. He asks why Mamie thinks Jill is at war with her.
Mamie says Jill felt alone and brought Billy on board as co-CEO to balance things out.
Nate says Billy was already coming on board, and the timing just happened to coincide with Lily’s leave of absence.
Mamie says Jill lured Billy and Chance, and she’s sure Jill has plans to install Chance in another high-level position. Jill’s obviously threatened by Mamie! Mamie says she’s doing this to take care of Nate because he doesn’t seem to be able to care for himself! She says she’s worried about Jill, and Devon and Nate should be, too!
Billy walks up to the table and asks what they should be worried about.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Tucker receives a text message saying that Ashley is back from Paris. He responds and tells them to let him know when she arrives at her house.
There’s a knock at the door. He answers and lets Audra in. He says he was hoping it was her at the door.
Audra tells him that he’s got “that look” in his eye… She’s there for work.
Tucker says he can’t help it; she makes his heart race. He asks what’s on her mind.
Audra says she’s been looking at the companies he wants to fold into Glissade and has found that a couple of them have “questionable” financials. He’d be taking on junk debt; they’re over-leveraged!
Tucker says that’s unacceptable.
Audra looks at Tucker with suspicion. She says she’s surprised he didn’t catch it, but she found two more viable companies.
Tucker laughs and says he knew the companies were duds, but he was curious to see if Audra would find them and come up with some alternatives.
Audra says Tucker wasn’t testing her analytical skills; he was testing her loyalty.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley walks in the door with her luggage in tow.
Jack and Diane greet her, surprised that she’s back. Jack says Traci made it sound like she was staying in Paris indefinitely.
Ashley asks why she’d do that; this is her home.
Jack is relieved to hear that.
Ashley pours herself a drink and says she needed some time to shake off the anger she was feeling toward Tucker.
Diane asks if she was able to shake it off.
Ashley says, “Not exactly.” She asks if Traci told them about Tucker’s latest stunt… He bribed the waiter to back up his version of events!
Jack says Traci mentioned that.
Ashley says a person must be “twisted” to do something like that.
Jack and Diane exchange a glance.
Ashley is suspicious. What was that look about?
Jack says they’re just concerned about her and happy to have her home.
Ashley asks what Jack isn’t telling her.
Jack says they should all talk together as a family, but Traci’s out with a friend and will be back soon. He’s sure she’d want to be part of this conversation, and maybe Abby should be included, too.
Ashley asks why Abby would need to be there.
Jack says she’s Ashley’s daughter and is concerned, too.
Ashley asks what Abby is concerned about.
Jack and Diane stay silent.
Ashley asks what’s going on… What do they have to discuss as a family?
Jack says, “You.”
Society
Nate, Mamie, and Billy have moved to a sofa and chair near the window. Nate tells Billy that Mamie believes the only reason Jill brought Billy on as co-CEO was to make the first move in a power play against her. He asks what Billy’s opinion is.
Billy says Mamie is shrewd, and her feud with Jill has gone on for years, so her fears are understandable.
Mamie asks if Billy is admitting that Jill brought him on to shore up her power.
Billy says that he was brought on to ensure that the Chancellor part of Chancellor-Winters is protected. He says that Jill also thinks they need more hands on deck because of the threat that Tucker poses to the company.
Nate nods. He says they’re all trying to work together against an external threat. He says Billy doesn’t want to start an internal war.
Billy shakes his head. Of course not.
Nate asks Billy to try to smooth things over with Jill like he’s doing with Mamie.
Billy says he can’t do that because he agrees with his mother… Mamie is the one who’s a threat!
Crimson Lights
Christine tells Danny that she doesn’t hate Phyllis. She may despise her, but that has nothing to do with her and Danny. She wants him to know that what she feels for him is real. It’s been exciting to reconnect with him, and she’s felt things she hasn’t felt in a long time. She asks Danny if it was real for him too.
Danny looks at her with surprise. Of course it was!
Christine smiles through tears and says she needed to hear that. She doesn’t want to walk away and not give them another chance. She promises to not think about Phyllis, but it hurts her that Danny doesn’t see that she’s forcing herself between them.
Danny says he’s not blind and knows Phyllis can be difficult.
Christine says Phyllis is “a walking apocalypse.”
Phyllis stands in the doorway, listening. She smiles at Daniel and glares at Christine. She walks over and says, “So much for Danny’s request for space!”
Danny tells her to stop.
Phyllis asks if Christine summoned him because she wanted to give him a lecture about “big bad Phyllis.”
Danny says it’s not like that.
Christine tells Phyllis to get her coffee and leave; they’re having a private conversation.
Phyllis says she’ll give them some time. She says she’d forgotten to tell Danny earlier when she was at Daniel’s… She has a surprise for him! She got him tickets to that concert he’s been talking about!
Christine asks Danny if Phyllis was at his apartment earlier… Was that why he couldn’t get her out of there fast enough?
Danny says she was, and he didn’t want this to happen.
Christine stands up, angry, and tells Danny that he’s playing her and Phyllis off of each other.
Danny’s had enough. He tells Christine and Phyllis that he doesn’t want any part of this; he can’t handle spending time with either of them. He stalks out of the cafe, frustrated.
Society
Billy tells Mamie the only reason she came to town and put her money into Chancellor-Winters was to get rid of Jill from the company… And coincidently, Tucker would like to see Jill leave the company as well.
Mamie rolls her eyes and says she’s done with Tucker after what he did to Ashley. He tried to make her an ally, but she refused.
Billy says she may have changed her mind about Tucker, but he thinks she still wants to get rid of Jill.
Mamie says Jill is trying to shore up the company by bringing her son and grandson in, too.
Nate says they should all just take a breath.
Billy says he’s calm and just wanted to put his cards on the table.
Mamie says she’s not trying to cause any conflict… It’s already here!
Nate says that if they can’t trust each other, that will only help Tucker. They need to be united.
Billy says that if they want unity, Nate needs to convince Mamie that coming after Jill Abbott is a fool’s errand, and he guarantees that if she does continue to go after Jill, she’ll fail.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Audra says Tucker must not be sure he can trust her.
Tucker says he trusts her as much as she trusts him.
Audra asks if he’s okay with that.
Tucker says he’s thrilled with anything that keeps the fire in her eyes. He caresses her neck and kisses her.
Audra tells him to stop but then grins and tells him to continue.
They kiss, but it’s interrupted by Tucker’s phone pinging with a notification.
Audra reaches into Tucker’s pocket and pulls out his phone. She looks at the notification and asks, “Who’s home?” She quickly figures that he must be keeping tabs on Ashley.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane tells Ashley she looks exhausted. She should go upstairs and take a bath!
Jack agrees. She should unpack and unwind.
Ashley says she doesn’t want to take a bath and unwind. She wants to know why Jack wants to have a family meeting about her. She asks what Traci told Jack about Paris.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Sally tells Chloe they’re in serious trouble; they could lose everything they’ve worked so hard for!
Chelsea tells Billy she’s gotten bad news from Connor’s school.
Chance and Summer are at a table in Society, and Chance asks Nick and Phyllis to join them, but Nick declines, saying they look like they’re having a good time on their date.
Victoria tells Cole that Victor has gone too far… As usual!
