Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Audra caught Tucker sneaking off for a midnight meeting with Ashley, Chance & Summer had a romantic date, and Nick & Phyllis reconnected.
Memorial Hospital
Claire is sitting on her bed, talking with a little girl. She says that her favorite Greek god was Athena, who was very powerful and beloved. Athena was the daughter of Zeus.
Victoria stands in the doorway, watching and listening.
The girl, Nadia, asks Claire what Athena is the goddess of.
Claire says Athena is the goddess of wisdom and courage, especially during war, but explains that Athena cherishes kindness and peace. Claire shows Nadia a picture of Athena in a book. She says that Athena would use her father’s lightning bolts when her city, Athens, was threatened.
Nadia thinks it makes sense that the city was named after Athena.
Claire says Athena wasn’t afraid of anyone, and men would pray to her before they went into battle. She says it’s hard to do things on your own sometimes, and it’s okay to ask for help. Claire says that sometimes, you get to be the fearless one who helps others!
Newman Enterprises
Adam walks into the office and says hello to Nicholas. He asks where their father is, and whether Nick was summoned to the office as well.
Nick says he was wondering where Victor was, too. He says he was summoned, and it sounded urgent. Nick wonders what the meeting is about.
Adam is surprised Victor didn’t beat them to the office to meet with them. He figures Victor wants to talk to them about Jordan, Victoria, Nikki, or maybe all of them.
Nick thinks it might be about business. His phone and Adam’s ping with a notification.
Victor sends a group message. “Unavoidably detained. I’ll be there when I can.”
Newman Ranch
Victor is on the phone. He thanks the caller for staying on top of it; at least now they know what they’re dealing with. He asks them to keep him informed and ends the call.
Nikki walks into the room and pours herself a cup of coffee.
Victor asks how she slept.
Nikki says she didn’t sleep very well and would appreciate it if Victor stopped tiptoeing around her; he ended that call the moment she entered the room! She says he was talking about her, and they agreed they wouldn’t keep things from each other.
Victor says he wasn’t talking about her; he was talking about Jordan. He says his security team was in touch with the prison, and they’ve determined the fire was due to arson. All the bodies have been identified, and there are six unaccounted-for prisoners.
Nikki figures Jordan has to be one of them.
Victor nods. He says Jordan may be missing, but he promises she’ll be recaptured.
Nikki says that Victor wishing it would happen will not make it happen. She thinks they need to turn the tables on Jordan and lure her into some kind of trap.
Victor says he’s considered that but won’t allow Nikki to use herself as bait. He says Nikki needs to stay at the ranch and work from home.
Nikki says she won’t allow Jordan to make her a prisoner again. She cannot stand being locked up in the house.
Victor says she can, and she will. She needs to stay in the house to stay safe from Jordan and to keep her from being tempted by alcohol again.
Nikki says it doesn’t work that way; if an alcoholic is determined to drink, they’ll find a way!
Victor says she knows he removed all the alcohol from the house, so there’s no way she can drink. He begs her to go along with him on this.
Nikki sighs and says they’ll do it Victor’s way.
Victor’s happy. He hugs her and promises that the nightmare with Jordan will come to an end. He kisses her cheek and leaves for the office.
Memorial Hospital
Claire tells Nadia that her book has a ton of information about Athena. She starts to explain how Athena got into a contest with Poseidon when she turns around and sees Victoria watching them.
Victoria apologizes for interrupting.
Claire smiles and says it’s not a problem. She introduces Nadia, who is turning seven next week!
Victoria smiles and wishes Nadia a happy almost-birthday.
Claire explains to Nadia that Victoria is her mother. She says she visits most days like Nadia’s mother visits her.
Victoria asks how they met.
Claire says Nadia had pneumonia, and Claire’s been taking walks through the kids’ ward. Nadia found out that Claire had a book about Athena that Victoria had given her, and the staff agreed to let her come to her room so she could show it to her.
A nurse is standing at the door listening. She says it’s been entertaining, but they need to get Nadia back to her room.
Claire tells Nadia that they can read more together if she’s there tomorrow.
Nadia’s happy about that. She says goodbye and leaves with the nurse.
Victoria tells Claire she had no idea she was that good with children.
Claire says she didn’t either… Especially since she never really had a childhood herself.
Victoria says she didn’t have the life she deserved at all.
Claire says seeing the kids made her realize she has something in common with them… They’re scared to be there, and they’re not in complete control of their lives. Seeing them makes Claire feel stronger; they need help, and Claire feels like she can help them.
Victoria says she’s proud of Claire.
Claire says the kids give her energy… They’re the perfect distraction from her own life. They talk to her about their favorite stuffed animals or the volunteers who taught them about rocks.
Victoria’s surprised that people volunteer to help.
Claire nods. She says many people volunteer their time to make things easier for the kids.
Victoria says it must be instinctual to want to make a child happy.
Claire says she’s finding out that she’s the kind of person who wants to make a kid smile if she can… It’s the best therapy possible!
Victoria asks if it’s better than Claire’s “actual” therapy.
Claire says her regular therapy sessions are draining… They talk about the same things over and over again. She hates talking about the years of misery and brainwashing alongside the terrible feelings that came with it. She says it sounds awful, but she understands why she needs to do it. She wants to keep it up so she can get better.
Victoria says they all want that for her. She tells Claire the whole family is pulling for her.
Claire says it helps to know that; she didn’t know what support was like until she met Victoria and Cole. She asks if there’s any news about Jordan.
Victoria says Claire should put Jordan out of her mind and let law enforcement handle things. Claire deserves Jordan to be a distant memory; hopefully, someday, she won’t even be a memory.
Crimson Lights
Chloe meets with Sally in the coffee shop. She asks if Sally has good news.
Sally says there’s no good news yet, but she’s sure some good news will come soon. Their last project is almost complete, and she thinks it’ll photograph beautifully once it’s done.
Chloe appreciates Sally’s spin on it, but she says that was their last job, and they have nothing to work on next unless they can drum up new business.
Sally nods. She says they’ll be in serious trouble if they can’t find another client… Everything they’ve worked for could be lost.
Newman Enterprises
Adam tells Nick that since they’re waiting for their father, there’s something he wants to run by him…
Nick asks what he wants to talk about.
Victor walks into the office, apologizing for running late. He sits down and says he got some news about the fire in the prison. He explains that it was arson and Jordan is missing… She survived the fire.
Nick asks if Jordan planned it and set the fire.
Victor says there’s no evidence but wouldn’t put it past her.
Nick says they need to assume Jordan is going to come to town. The fact that she committed mass murder for her own selfish ends makes him sick.
Adam says he knew Jordan was dangerous, but causing a fire that took so many lives is horrific.
Nick asks how Nikki is doing with the information.
Victor says he told Nikki to work from home at the ranch.
Nick thinks that’s a good plan if she sticks to it, but they both know that Nikki doesn’t like feeling trapped.
Newman Ranch
Lauren walks in and greets Nikki.
Nikki is glad she’s there and thanks her for helping her run Newman Media… She knows how busy she is with Fenmore’s.
Lauren is happy to do it. She loves a challenge and is happy to be part of her support team. Not too many people could say they work with Newman and Jabot at the same time!
Nikki laughs and says that’s true.
Lauren asks Nikki to bring her up to speed on the projects Audra was working on before she left.
Nikki says Audra was “focusing on finding new ways for mainstream entities to engage with the customers.”
Lauren asks whether Audra was dealing with outside entities or divisions of Newman.
Nikki says she’s hazy on the details… She’ll have to get back to Lauren on that.
Lauren can see Nikki’s having a rough morning. Does she want to talk about it? Maybe she should call Jack.
Nikki looks at her worriedly.
Lauren says she was with Jack when Nikki texted him to distract Victor and knows Nikki is struggling. She asks how she can help.
Nikki says she appreciates Lauren’s friendship and doesn’t want to fall apart in front of her.
Lauren says Nikki is going through so much… No apology necessary!
Nikki says that she’s not frazzled because she’s fighting the urge to drink… She’s having difficulty because she discovered that Jordan has escaped and is on the loose.
Lauren is shocked.
Nikki says Victor found out that Jordan survived the fire, which was deliberately set, and she’s nowhere to be found.
Lauren says if “that psychopath” knows what’s good for her, she’ll disappear forever.
Nikki shakes her head and says that’s not the case… Jordan has already been calling her and scaring her.
Lauren says Nikki can’t give Jordan any more power… She’s stronger than that!
Nikki says she’s starting to hate the word “stronger.”
Lauren says she knows how hard this can be… She went through it before with Sheila! She says that psychotic people try to break you down by keeping you in stress with a constant threat.
Nikki says Lauren’s right… She can’t let Jordan intimidate her. She won’t give her the satisfaction! She picks up her phone and starts looking through it.
Nikki explains that Victor’s security team couldn’t trace the number Jordan called from. She finds the number that Jordan last called her from and redials it.
The phone rings and is picked up. Nikki says, “Hello, Jordan. I know you’re there.” She tells Jordan to keep playing her games by calling her and playing burlesque music, which doesn’t embarrass her at all… It’s more of a fighting song for Nikki! She says it’s an anthem they can play to celebrate Jordan’s final downfall because it’s coming… Jordan has no allies. Claire has seen the truth about her sick and demented aunt.
There’s silence from the other end of the line.
Nikki says Jordan’s got nothing to say because she’s insane, weak, and is a coward. She invites Jordan to come to the ranch to get her. She taunts Jordan, telling her to break through the security and get into the house and give Nikki a chance to cross a line.
Newman Enterprises
Nick tells Victor and Adam that they need to devise a plan to eliminate Jordan as a threat, and they need to act quickly.
Adam wonders if they could set a trap for Jordan.
Victor says Nikki suggested that, too, but he won’t allow her to be used as bait.
Nick says Nikki will flip out because Victor has trapped her inside the house.
Adam mentions that Jordan hates Victor as much as she hates Nikki.
Victor nods. He’s going to use that to his advantage, but he can’t talk about it until the pieces are in place.
Adam offers his services for anything that’s needed to help Nikki.
Nick doesn’t like that their father is offering himself up as bait, but offers his services as well.
Victor appreciates it their offers, but he says it’s a battle he has to fight on his own.
Crimson Lights
Chloe asks Sally if there’s anyone in L.A. she could contact for work.
Sally says she’s burned too many bridges in L.A. She suggests they look for work in New York.
Chloe says it’s been too long since they’ve done anything with people in New York.
Sally says it’s frustrating. They’ve done good work, and the feedback from their clients has been positive.
Chloe says it hasn’t translated into new work for them.
Sally says once the photography is complete, they’ll post it on social media and see if they can get featured on some design sites.
Chloe isn’t sure it’ll bring in any clients. She says they’re tying themselves in knots for no reason. This happens with startups, and it’s time to ask the investor for another infusion of money.
Sally doesn’t want to ask Nick for another loan.
Newman Enterprises
Adam figures Nick must wish that Adam had kept his mouth shut since he was never on Jordan’s hit list.
Nick says he wishes that Adam hadn’t been so supportive of their dad’s plan without hearing what it was about. They don’t know Victor’s plan or how dangerous it is.
Adam says there’s nothing they can do or so to rein Victor in… He’s going to stop Jordan if that’s the last thing he does. If they’re on board with Victor, they can help keep him safe.
Nick says that’s the only reason he also went along with it. He hopes that Victor won’t take any unnecessary risks. He asks what Adam wanted to talk about before Victor came into the office.
Adam says he wants to talk to Nick about something before he runs it by their father… It’s about Sally.
Nick says that if Adam plans to marry Sally, he doesn’t need to ask Nick about it… It doesn’t concern him.
Newman Ranch
Lauren says Nikki was amazing on the phone… She put the fear of God into “that monster!”
Nikki says it felt good, but she doubts Jordan will be deterred by anything she said.
Lauren says Nikki was ferocious, and after hearing her, she doesn’t envy anyone who would want to cross Nikki or her family!
Memorial Hospital
Victoria tells Claire it made her happy to hear her talk about mythology… Claire obviously read the book Victoria gave her, and it meant something to her.
Claire says Victoria was right about the Newman angle to the book… Victor definitely could be Zeus, and there’s a convoluted family tree alongside intrigue and infighting!
Victoria laughs and says the parallels are clear.
Claire wonders if that means that Victoria is Athena.
Victoria grins and says she’s been known to hurl a thunderbolt or two.
Claire blurts out that she loves it when Victoria visits her… She looks forward to each and every visit.
Victoria smiles and says she does, too. She sits beside Claire and says they’re going through a similar process; they’re both trying to figure out who they are and what kind of people they want to be, and Victoria wants to focus on Claire right now.
Claire smiles at her mom.
There’s a knock at the door. It’s Victor. He wanders into Claire’s room and asks if he’s interrupting.
Claire says hello and tells him he’s not.
Victoria didn’t expect to see her dad there.
Victor wants a few moments alone with Claire to ask her some questions about Jordan.
Victoria isn’t sure that’s a good idea. She explains that they were talking about how they wanted to get Jordan out of their heads.
Claire says it’s okay… She knows why Victor is here; Jordan has escaped, hasn’t she?
Victor takes a seat and says he was hoping to find out about Jordan’s behavior so they can capture her again.
Claire says she doesn’t know what Jordan is up to or where she is.
Victor says he’s gotten word that the fire was deliberately set… It was arson.
Claire says Jordan set it and probably figured she’d be presumed dead.
Victor says the bodies were identified by DNA, and Jordan wasn’t one of the victims… She survived and is a hunted woman again.
Victoria tells Claire that there’s a security team in place to keep Jordan away from her. Claire shouldn’t give Jordan another thought.
Claire says it’s sweet that Victoria is trying to protect her, but she’s not afraid of Jordan. She has no desire to protect Jordan, and she knows that. She says Jordan called her a few days ago, and she shut Jordan down immediately.
Victoria is shocked that Jordan had called Claire.
Victor asks how the call was allowed to come through.
Claire says it was a burner phone smuggled into the prison, and Jordan lied to the nurse, saying she was Claire’s mom.
Victor asks why it’s the first time they’re hearing about it.
Claire says she should have told them. She didn’t mean to withhold information, but she put it out of her mind.
Victoria asks what she means.
Claire says she told Jordan that she could never manipulate her again, that she never wanted her to contact her again, and that she wished Jordan was dead. She was furious because Jordan had tricked her.
Claire continues, saying she told Jordan when she met with her in the Oregon prison that she never wanted to hear from her again, but Jordan went against her wishes, and then, Claire hung up on her. When she spoke to her therapist about it later, she shut it out of her mind, and that’s why she never told them about it sooner.
Victoria says they understand.
Claire says she’ll tell him immediately if anything else comes to mind. She says she wants to help protect the family, and in particular, she wants to help protect Nikki. She says she always thinks about Nikki and worries about how she’s doing.
Victor grins and says Claire is part of the family now… Why did she call him Victor?
Victoria thinks that’s sweet of Victor. She thanks him.
Claire says she wishes there was more she could do to help.
Victor says he can think of something she can do… He has a feeling Jordan will call her again and asks her to pass along a message to Jordan.
Victoria tells her dad it’s a bad idea.
Claire asks what Victor wants her to say.
Victor wants Claire to tell Jordan that Victor wants to make amends for all the harm he caused Jordan’s sister Eve.
Newman Enterprises
Adam tells Nick that although Nick funded Sally’s venture, she has too much pride to tell him things aren’t going well for her.
Nick asks what he means.
Adam says there was a lot of work when she first started her business, but there haven’t been any new prospects since the projects wrapped up.
Nick says that happens with a lot of new companies… They hit hard when they start, but things level off afterward.
Adam says he’s seen Sally’s business projections, and she needs a lot of cash to keep things afloat.
Nick says she can ask him for more capital if needed.
Adam says Sally won’t ask Nick for anything. He says Victor offered to create a design division for Sally to run but pulled the idea at the last minute.
Nick remembers. He says it was unfortunate.
Adam says it was rotten. Sally walked away from a contract with Chancellor-Winters to take the opportunity at Newman, but Victor messed it up for her. It was unfair, and he’s going to ask Victor to follow through with it this time. He says Sally and Chloe can come aboard under the Newman umbrella.
Crimson Lights
Sally tells Chloe she’ll never go back to Nick for more money. She’s surprised Chloe would even bring it up… It’s wrong on so many different levels!
Chloe says Sally’s “idiotic return” to Adam was wrong, too.
Sally gives her a look.
Chloe says she doesn’t want to argue with Sally about Adam anymore. She’ll drop it.
Sally says things are going really well between her and Adam… Maybe Chloe could be happy for her as a friend?
Chloe smiles and agrees. She suggests they do something that would help the company, such as take on a new partner.
Sally asks how that would help.
Chloe says they need to bring someone on with a wider reach and deep pockets.
Sally says they’d lose control of the company if they brought someone else in as an investor.
Chloe asks which is better… Losing a bit of control or losing the company?
Sally says it’s not what she envisioned for the company.
Chloe doesn’t know if bringing someone else on is the best solution, but she doesn’t want to give up on their venture.
Sally says she doesn’t want to give up on it either… They need to try harder. She says she won’t go back to Nick, and she refuses to admit defeat.
Newman Enterprises
Nick asks Adam if Sally knows he’s going to make this proposition to Victor.
Adam says he hasn’t said anything to her yet. He wanted Victor and Nick on board before he got her hopes up.
Nick thinks that’s smart. He doubts their dad will resurrect the design division idea.
Adam says that’s where Nick comes in. He’ll need Nick to help him sell the idea to their dad.
Memorial Hospital
Claire asks Victor why he’d try to make amends with Jordan; nothing he could say would make her hate him and his family any less.
Victor says he understands but asks her to pass the word along as a favor. He says if she can’t do it, he understands that too. He thanks her for listening to him and says it was nice to see her again.
Claire thanks him for visiting, and Victor leaves the room.
Victoria follows Victor into the hallway. She tells him he can’t use Claire as a go-between in whatever scheme he has planned; she won’t allow it. The last thing Claire needs is more exposure to Jordan!
Victor says that Nikki is on a binge because Jordan is torturing her, and she’ll continue to do so unless she’s stopped. Claire is their only hope for getting word to Jordan.
Victoria says Claire is also a victim, which Victor has conveniently forgotten.
Victor says he’s only asking Claire to pass along a message.
Victoria says talking to Jordan again could cause Claire a setback.
Victor says he’s concerned about Nikki, not Claire. End of discussion! He walks away.
Victoria goes back into Claire’s room.
Claire figures Victoria must be upset with her and Victor.
Victoria says she wishes Victor hadn’t put Claire in the middle.
Claire says she’s okay with it. She doubts Jordan will call again, but anything is possible.
Victoria says it’s a terrible idea.
Claire says she thinks it makes sense. Victor is setting a trap that’s the reverse of what Jordan did to Nikki. Victor doesn’t want to make amends; he’s setting himself up as bait, and if there’s anything Claire can do to help him catch Jordan and put her in prison again, she’ll do it so that they can put an end to this “horror show” once and for all.
Newman Ranch
Lauren and Nikki finish discussing what Audra was working on. Lauren says she’s got a lot to learn about the media business.
Nikki figures Lauren will pick it up quickly. Her phone rings. She gasps and says, “It’s her.”
Lauren says Nikki has already said what she needed to say to Jordan. There’s no reason to pick up the call, and there’s no reason for Nikki to put herself through whatever Jordan has planned for her.

An episode without big mouth Phyllis is always enjoyable. Love that Adam and Nick are becoming friends.
Agree about Phyllis. I would that she moves to Timbuktu. Audra is getting tiresome. Bring the real Ashley back to her sanity. Silly storyline and is getting boring. Sally and Chloe more of them and their business.
Bottom line…drop Phyllis and Mamie and her nephew, whatis name. B
Love this recap. I have fire stick and can’t figure out how to watch real TV anymore. Help.
