On the last episode of Y&R, Diane saved Ashley from choking, while Tucker stirred the pot as Billy & Jack had a falling out.
Tessa & Mariah’s House
Tessa sings to Aria as she rocks her in her arms and says it’s ironic… Aria can’t hear her singing.
Mariah says she may be unable to hear it, but she can feel it.
Chancellor Park
Adam meets Sharon in the park. He can tell that she’s angry with him about wanting to become the CEO.
Sharon tells him that not everything is about Adam… She’s thinking in much bigger terms now, and she’s made a decision that will affect the entire operation.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Victor comes to Audra’s room. He tells her that he’s decided to merge the two companies.
Audra says that Adam is getting what he wanted the whole time.
Victor says this was his plan all along, but Adam wanted it first.
Audra asks what her position will be with Newman Media. Is Victor here to tell her she’s being fired?
The Newman Ranch House
Nikki thanks Nick for coming over and gives him a hug.
Nick asks if Victor told her about Adam’s power play.
Nikki says he did, and she understands Nick and Sharon’s reservations about working with Adam.
Nick says that Adam blew everything to pieces.
Nikki says that Victor thought Nick and Sharon might be fed up with Adam and might be thinking of leaving.
Nick says he and Sharon were considering their options. He says that Sharon is concerned that Kirsten would be reduced to a cog in the Newman machine, and that’s not what she signed up for.
Nikki asks if Sharon wants to back out and whether Nick supports her doing so.
Nick says that after what Sharon and Faith went through, there needs to be a silver lining for her, but Adam’s ruining things.
Nikki says that things may have been damaged beyond repair.
Nick says that Victor has been bending over backward for Adam for years. It must drive Victor crazy.
Nikki says it does. She says that she’s trying to get Victor to see that letting it slide with Adam isn’t working, and suggested that Victor puts Nick and Sharon in charge and let Adam work for them.
Nick doesn’t think Victor would go for that. He says that he joined the company because of Sharon’s vision for the company, but Sharon may lose anything now, and nobody can control Adam, not even Victor.
Nikki says that Victor wants to keep the family together.
Nick says that Victor can’t bend Adam to his will. He’s going to be an outsider forever.
Nikki says that Adam likes being seen as an outcast.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Victor tells Audra he’s not there to fire her.
Audra figures Victor wants her to tender her resignation instead.
Victor says he has plans for her… The management structure of Newman Media is being worked on, and he just came there to reassure her.
Audra says that could mean anything… Maybe her next office will be in the basement with a red Swingline stapler next to her.
Victor says that won’t happen. He’s happy with her work so far. He leaves.
Newman Enterprises
Nate sits at Victoria’s desk and sighs. He picks up his phone and sends Victoria a text. “Hope things are going more smoothly in LA. I miss you.”
Nate’s phone rings. It’s Audra. She tells Nate that Victor was just there and something’s up… They need to meet.
Chancellor Park
Adam tells Sharon he overheard her talking to Esther earlier about how her life was back on track and things are progressing. He figures she wasn’t talking about Adam being the sole CEO of the company.
Sharon laughs and tells him he’s right.
Adam wonders if Sharon knows something about Victor’s plan that he doesn’t or if she has a new plan for herself.
Sharon says she has a new plan.
Adam asks if she’ll tell him what it is.
Sharon says he has to wait. She’ll share her plan with Adam, Nick, and Victor together. She’ll call a meeting with the three of them after she speaks with Nick again.
Adam asks why Nick gets a vote on it, but he doesn’t. He doesn’t like being left out of the discussions.
Sharon says Adam must be joking because he tried to seize power in their company when it was supposed to be a cooperative effort.
Adam says he created Newman Media, so he should be in charge.
Sharon says that “created” is a stretch. She says he turned Cyaxares into Newman Media, and Ashland Locke’s company was pretty solid before Adam took it over.
Adam says he still knows the ins-and-outs better than Nick or Sharon does, and hopes that they’ll see the light.
Sharon says Adam’s just looking for Victor’s approval.
Adam says he has good business sense and wonders if Sharon is trying to punish him with whatever she’s cooking up with Nick.
Sharon says that they were trying to find balance in the partnership, but Adam wanted to take control, and he shouldn’t be surprised when his business partners decide to take things in another direction.
The Newman Ranch House
Nikki asks Nick to talk about anything but Adam. She asks how Nick is doing.
Nick says he’s fine.
Nikki says that he went through Faith’s kidnapping, Sally lost her baby, and he was “eased out” of Newman Enterprises.
Nick laughs ironically. He says that he wasn’t “eased out.” He was tossed out of Newman by his sister to hire a man nobody should trust.
Nikki says it was cold-hearted, and she hates that Victoria did that. She says now Nick finds himself in a tug-of-war between Adam and Sharon and worries that he’ll pull away from the family again.
Tessa & Mariah’s House
Tessa comes down the stairs from putting Aria to bed. She says that Aria was making really cute faces like she knew Tessa was trying to talk to her.
Mariah says they need more support. She wants to call Sharon and let her know the news.
Tessa tears up and says there’s something that she needs from Mariah first.
Mariah looks concerned and asks what she needs.
Tessa embraces her in a hug.

Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra lets Nate into her room. She tells Nate that Victor told her that Newman Media would absorb Sharon and Adam’s company.
Nate says that’s not a big surprise.
Audra says she asked Victor whether she was getting fired. He reassured her she wasn’t but wouldn’t tell her anything until the merger went through. She wonders why Victor would keep her if his sons are going to be running the company.
Nate asks what exactly Victor said… Did he mention her job performance?
Audra says that Victor said he was impressed by her and her work.
Nate says Victor doesn’t go out of his way to praise someone… Maybe there’s something better on the horizon for both of them.
Audra says Nate’s a half-full kind of guy. She says she appreciates his support and encouragement and feels better knowing Nate’s in her corner. Audra is used to working with Tucker, who is only loyal to himself. She thanks Nate for being there for her.
Nate says that’s what friends do.
Audra asks if Victoria is back from L.A. yet.
Nate says that Victoria’s been held up in negotiations; she’ll probably be another day or two.
Audra says that’s too bad, and if Nate is bored, they should grab dinner. He’s probably tired of eating alone, and maybe she’ll know more about Newman Media by the time they have dinner.
Nate says that sounds good. He tells her not to stress out; they have this. He leaves.
Audra’s phone pings with a text message. It’s Kyle, asking whether they should have dinner that evening.
She tells Kyle she can’t do dinner; maybe they can have drinks beforehand.
The Newman Ranch House
Nikki brings Nick a drink and tells him he’s been quiet.
Nick says he’ll be honest… He’s thought about getting some distance from everything; it’s wearing on him.
Nikki asks for him to wait and see how it plays out… The company needs Nick.
Nick says that balance and order aren’t how things work in their family. Victor always sides with Adam despite his manipulations, and Victoria kicked him out of his job and gave it away… What if the chaos involving Victor, Adam, and Victoria never ends? Nick can’t live like that and doesn’t want to.
Chancellor Park
Adam tells Sharon that she should admit that she and Nick are going to do something, and Adam will be left out in the cold.
Sharon’s phone rings before she can answer him. It’s Mariah, and Sharon takes the call.
Mariah tells Sharon that they had the appointment with the audiologist, and wanted to talk. They ask if Sharon can come by the tack house and see them.
Sharon says she’ll be right there. She hangs up and tells Adam that she has to go.
Adam asks her to tell him if there’s a potential overthrow in the works. Is this her new plan to pull the rug out from under him?
Sharon says she has to go. They’ll talk later.
Adam apologizes. He says he knew how important this new venture was to her. He just wants to know what Nick and Sharon talked about.
Sharon says he’ll find out soon enough. She leaves the park.
The Newman Ranch House
Victor walks in and says hello to Nick and Nikki. He asks if he interrupted something.
Nick says they weren’t talking about anything Victor didn’t know already. He says that he’s not happy with how things are going in the company and is tired of watching Adam try to get the top position. He’s sick that Adam never faces any consequences.
Victor says he’s going to handle Adam as he sees fit.
Nick says Victor should do what he must, but there’s no guarantee that Nick will be part of it.
Victor asks what that’s supposed to mean.
Nick’s phone pings. He takes a look at it and says he has to go. He kisses Nikki on the cheek, tells Victor and Nikki he loves them both and leaves the house.
Victor tells Nikki that Nick seems to be really upset with his brother.
Nikki says that she’s worried that Nick will pull away from the family again, and she can’t have that.
They sit down, and Nikki says Nick is very hurt. In spite of his efforts, Adam is still a problem, and Victor keeps giving him one chance after another.
Victor says he tries to do what’s best for his children.
Nikki says Nick thinks it’s preferential treatment… Victoria pushed Nick out, Adam’s up to his old tricks, and Victor has allowed this to happen.
Victor says he’s sick and tired of the children fighting. He only wants them to work together.
Nikki says that only Adam is fighting.
Victor says he’ll come up with a solution this afternoon. They may not like it, but Victor doesn’t give a damn.
Crimson Lights
Nate asks Adam how the new venture is going.
Adam says things are fine.
Nate says he heard a rumor that Newman Media is merging with SNA.
Adam says he won’t share any information with Nate about it.
Nick walks in at that moment, and Nate says that maybe Nick can fill them in on it.
Nick asks what they’re talking about.
Adam says that they were talking about Newman Media, and Nate said that the merger might still happen. What does Nick think about that?
Nick says the merger is back on the table, but everything is on hold for now, so it might not happen.
Adam says Nick’s in on it.
Nate asks, “In on what?”
Mariah and Tessa’s House
Sharon asks where Aria is, and Tessa and Mariah tell her she’s asleep. She asks what the specialist said.
Mariah tells Sharon that Dr. George was one of the doctors who helped Devon when he got his cochlear implant and knows her stuff. The doctor found that Aria’s hearing loss is stemming from an inner ear problem.
Tessa says the hearing loss isn’t curable.
Mariah says there are more tests to run, but if it’s what she thinks it is, then Aria will get some hearing aids.
Tessa says that if the hearing aids don’t help, then they’ll have to consider a cochlear implant.
Sharon says they don’t have to worry because the hearing aids might be enough. She tells them to take it one step at a time.
Tessa and Mariah are very worried, but Sharon reassures them that everything will be fine… Just look at Devon!
Crimson Lights
Nate tells Nick it sounds like there are some problems between the leadership team at SNA.
Nick tells Nate it’s none of his concern.
Nate says that whatever happened, Adam is probably the one who’s caused the merger to be put on hold.
Adam tells Nate to walk away.
Nate says that Adam showed his weakness when he resorted to blackmail, and taking advantage of Audra was pathetic. He tells Nick that he hopes that his plan involves keeping Adam as far away as possible from Newman Enterprises.
Nate wishes Nick and Adam an ironic “good luck” and leaves the cafe, passing Sharon on his way out.
Sharon tells Nick that she needs to meet with him in private.
Adam laughs and says, “Seriously?” He says they can’t just ice him out.
Nick asks his brother what he’s going to do about it.
Tessa & Mariah’s House
Tessa brings Mariah a hot drink and says having Sharon over was a good idea.
Mariah asks Tessa if she could do her a favor… She wants Tessa to pretend she’s Aria and sing to her.
Tessa takes Mariah in her arms and sings.
‘Cause if flowers need the rain so they can grow, Pearls need an oyster to glow. And we can handle all this and more, ’cause even things lost in the ocean meet the shore.
Mariah says she can feel every vibration… Aria can’t hear it, but she can feel it, and it’s beautiful.
Tessa cries and Mariah comforts her.
Crimson Lights
Sharon sits with Nick as they talk.
Nick says Adam’s pushing him over the edge. He asks if she’s made a decision yet.
Sharon says she knows what she wants… She wants to try to take Kirsten back before the merger; she wants out because she can’t work with Adam. Her main concern is Victor… Will he give her back her company?
Nick says he’ll ensure Victor understands that Sharon should have what is hers.
Sharon thanks Nick and asks him what his plans are.
Nick isn’t sure… His mother is pressuring him to come back to Newman Enterprises.
Sharon wonders if he’s going to stick it out of the sake of his family.
Nick and Sharon’s phone ping. It’s a group message from Victor asking them to meet at the ranch ASAP.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Adam walks into the restaurant and sits at the bar a few seats away from Audra.
Audra looks over at Adam and wishes him congratulations… It looks like he’s getting what he wants, after all!
Adam smirks.
Audra says that Victor told her the merger was going through. She says she has to ask… Is she about to lose her position?
Adam says he isn’t “in” with the family and can’t answer.
Audra says karma is a bitch. She wonders whether they’re both going to be unemployed.
Adam’s phone pings. It’s Victor, asking him to meet at the ranch. He says they’re about to find out where Adam stands.
The Newman Ranch House
Victor puts his phone away. He tells Nikki, “It’s done.”
Nikki asks Victor what he’s going to tell them.
Victor hugs her and tells her he adores her.
Nikki steps back and asks what he’s up to.

The story lines are getting really boring! I’m tired of the back and forth bickering about who’s going to be in charge of the company. I’m also very bored with Mariah and Tessa and their drama. The Nate and Audra thing could be interesting.
