Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Sharon dropped a truth bomb on Adam, Audra left Kyle hanging for dinner with Nate, and Tessa & Mariah have a realization about baby Aria.
The Newman Ranch House
Sharon asks Nick if he has any idea why Victor has invited them there.
Nick doesn’t have any idea.
Adam asks what Sharon thinks, but figures she won’t share.
Nick says Adam is in a good mood for someone who tried to screw over his business partners.
Adam says he didn’t try to screw anyone over, he was going for an opportunity, and it never worked out… After all, he’s the one who knows how to run a media company.
Sharon says Adam never gives up.
Adam says he’s right. Victor may be angry at him, but he’s the only one who can turn Newman Media into the powerhouse it can be. He thinks Victor will try to convince them to get along.
Victor walks in. He thanks them for coming and invites them to take a seat.
Victor says that he gave them an opportunity to work together professionally, but they’ve made a mess of it, and now Victor has to step in.
Nick says that it’s unsurprising since Adam resorted to blackmail and a power grab to take over Newman Media.
Adam, Nick, and Sharon bicker until Victor steps in and tells them to stop arguing.
Victor asks each one of them to tell him what their vision of the company looks like.
Adam daydreams about his response.
In Adam’s daydream, Victor appoints Adam CEO of Newman Media, with Sally Spectra as the COO.
Nick is surprised, and Victor pats Adam on the back, telling him he’s proud of him.
Victor says Nate is out of Newman Enterprises, and Nikki will be the Director of Research and Development. Victoria will become Victor’s COO. Victor’s taking back the company.
Nick asks Victor why he’s getting passed over.
Victor tells Nick he’s not as capable, and that’s why Adam is the CEO.
Sharon asks what happens to her in the new company.
Adam says that Nick and Sharon won’t fit in at Newman Media. He asks Victor if they can get rid of them legally.
Victor says they need to talk to the lawyers.
Adam tells Sharon she can open her therapy practice or return to Crimson Lights.
Sharon wishes she was surprised, but Adam’s showing his true colors.
Nick says he’s never working for Adam, and Victor’s cruel to let this happen.
Adam tells Nick that nice guys finish last.
Nick says, “How’s this for a nice guy?” He punches Adam in the face.
Victor asks Adam if he’s boring him.
Adam says he was thinking about his answer to Victor’s question.
Victor tells Sharon that the last time they spoke, she was unsure about the new company… What are her thoughts now?
Sharon says she still has concerns about moving forward with Newman Media.
Victor asks what Sharon’s concerns are.
Sharon says that Victor said it himself… The three of them don’t work well together. The mistrust, the power grabs… It’s overwhelmed everything.
Adam says he assumes she’s talking about him.
Sharon says she brought the idea to Adam to have the companies work together, but he’s done nothing to make her regret that.
Adam says he only did what he felt necessary; it was just business.
Sharon says it wasn’t just business. They all have a history, and it would be a challenge, but Adam made it more difficult than it should have been… In fact, he made it impossible.
Sharon asks Victor what they’re doing there… Does Victor really care what she thinks?
Victor says he cares what she thinks but needs to hear their perspective to evaluate.
Sharon starts to daydream about what she wants.
Sharon imagines Adam telling Victor that Sharon and Nick are right… He’s made a mess of everything, and he’s sorry.
Nick asks if they’re supposed to believe Adam after everything he’s done.
Adam says that he’s done nothing to earn their trust or forgiveness. All he’s done is try to sabotage Sharon’s ideas and he’s repaid her generosity by stabbing her in the back. They all deserve better.
Sharon thanks Adam for his apology.
Adam tells Nick that he did need someone to watch over him, and he tried to grab power like it was his right, but he sees now that it’s not. He says that Victor always tried to help and support him, but he pushed Victor away, and he’s sorry for that.
Adam swears that he’s being sincere… He’s truly sorry. Can they make it right and start over? He holds out his hand to Nick, and they shake hands, ready to start over again.
Sharon snaps out of her reverie when Nick prompts her. She says she was just thinking.
Victor says that Sharon’s hesitancy doesn’t inspire confidence.
Nick asks if she’s ok… What’s she thinking?
Sharon says she wants out.
Victor asks if Sharon is reneging on her contract.
Sharon says she doesn’t trust Adam and is not sure she should trust Victor, either. She has the opportunity to turn the company into something positive and wants to take Kirsten and turn it around on her own.
She goes on to say that Victor never really wanted Kirsten in the first place; he only wanted to strip it down and use it to support Newman Media.
Victor says it’s business, not a charity.
Sharon says he’s made his point. SNA would be a cog in the Newman machine. That’s not what she signed up for; she believes that you can still be compassionate and make a profit at the same time. She pleads for Victor to let her take Kirsten for her own.
Victor says that Kirsten will stay under the Newman umbrella.
Nick asks why Victor won’t just let it go.
Victor says Kirsten has assets he can utilize. If Sharon wants him to buy her out, Victor will do that.
Sharon says she doesn’t want to be bought out.
Nick says Victor got Kirsten for free, and now that Sharon wants it back, he won’t give it to her because Victor hates to lose.
Adam says buying Sharon out is a good move. He says that Kirsten does have some elements that Newman Media can use.
Nick says Adam’s just sucking up to Victor, hoping he makes him CEO.
Adam says he’s giving Sharon some advice she can use… Victor won’t give the company back.
Sharon says she doesn’t want to be bought out.
Nick says that everything Adam touches turns into a disaster.
Adam says Nick doesn’t care about the new company; he’s just there to protect Sharon.
Nick says Sharon doesn’t need protecting.
Sharon says she doesn’t. She tells Victor there’s no way for the three of them to work together, which is why she needs to get out with her company intact.
Victor reminds Sharon they have a contract.
Sharon says she doesn’t agree to the contract. She won’t just roll over and let Victor decide what the company should be.
Victor says he’s made his decision.
Sharon says the only good thing that came out of the Cameron nightmare was the possibility of using his business for something good, but it’s only become a Newman turf war, and she wants nothing to do with it. She stands up and says she’ll get an attorney and will fight for what is hers.
Victor tells her to go ahead.
Sharon leaves.

Nick asks what’s wrong with Victor… Sharon protected Victor’s granddaughter with her own life, and now Victor’s doing this?!
Victor says, “This. Is. Business.”
Nick says it’s always business with Victor, and it’s always about what Victor wants.
Victor says that if he’d gotten what he wanted, the three of them would be working together in harmony, but they aren’t. He asks Nick where he sees the company going from here.
Adam smirks and says, “Yeah, where do you see it going, Nick?”
Nick tells Adam to shut up.
Victor says Sharon is gone, leaving Nick and Adam… So, what does Nick see for the future of the company?
Nick starts to think about where he sees the company heading.
In Nick’s daydream, Adam says that Nick must want him to be fired.
Nick says that he doesn’t care about that… He only cares that Sharon gets what she deserves.
Adam says that Nick’s being protective of Sharon.
Nick says he may be, but he shouldn’t have to be.
Victor asks what he thinks about the future of the company.
Nick asks why he should give Victor his opinion since Victor’s already made up his mind. He’s not participating in Victor’s little game.
Victor asks Nick what he thinks, and Nick snaps back from his daydream.
Nick says that Sharon’s right. SNA will only be a cog in the machine, focusing only on wealth and success. No wonder she wants out, and Nick thinks he wants out too.
Victor says that Nick always has one foot out the door.
Nick says that it’ll never be a big, happy family business like Victor wants.
Adam says that Nick’s doubting business in general. He should return to his non-profit world, where he gets an award for showing up to work.
Nick says he is proud of his work at New Hope, and it sounds like Sharon has the same ideas for Kirsten… A positive media and tech company that gives back to the community, which is a far cry from what Adam has for his vision of Newman Media.
Victor says Nick’s saying he should return the company to Sharon… That’s not going to happen.
Nick tells Victor they should get down to it… What does Victor have planned?
Victor says that he wants to hear from the person whose opinion he values the most.
Nikki walks into the room.
Victor tells Nikki that he just spoke with Adam and Nick and asked them what they thought about the future of the company, and now he wants to hear from Nikki… What does she think about the two of them working together?
Nikki says nobody in the room will appreciate what she has to say. She says they have both caused Victor pain and distress in spite of being given every opportunity, and Adam is one of the most ungrateful people she’s ever known. Nothing’s ever good enough for Adam; he has a chip on his shoulder.
Nikki mocks Adam, “Oh, woe is me, nobody understands me!” She tells him to grow the hell up. She knows he’s had heartbreak and hardship, but so has everyone else in the room, and he needs to get over it.
Nikki looks at Nick and says, “My precious Nicholas.” She says Victor is right; Nick needs to stop complaining and do something about it. He can’t just leave them hanging; he needs to commit.
Nikki turns to Victor and tells him that she can’t blame him for wanting to create the family he’s always wanted, but this is the family he has, and it’s time for him to recognize that. She doesn’t know his plans for Newman Media, but if Victor puts Adam in charge, she’ll be angrier with him than he’s ever seen.
Nikki says that Victor’s given Adam too much leeway, which must stop now.
Victor says he heard her loud and clear. He doesn’t intend to place Adam in a position of power.
Adam says that “The golden boy” wins again, referring to Nick.
Nick tells him to give it a rest.
Victor says he gave them both an opportunity to work together, but it never worked out. Once they’ve folded SNA into Newman Media, Nikki will be the CEO of Newman Media.
Nikki gasps and says she couldn’t possibly…
Nick smiles and says Nikki would be perfect for the job.
Victor says Audra Charles will be Nikki’s COO, and Nick will go back to Newman Enterprises and assume the co-CEO position that Nikki held.
Adam says he’s left out in the cold… Again. He should have known Victor would pull something like this.
Victor says Adam brought it on himself.
Adam makes a mock apology for offending his father’s sense of loyalty.
Victor tells Adam to stop acting like a child.
Adam says that doing this in front of the family was Victor’s way of humiliating him; he could have done it over the phone to spare him the embarrassment.
Victor says that wasn’t his intention. All he ever asked of Adam was to show humility, but he’s incapable of it.
Adam says Victor’s leaving him with nothing because of that.
Victor says Adam leaves him no choice.
Adam says Victor is going to regret this.
Victor tells Adam not to make idle threats against him.
Adam says the threats are real. He stalks out of the house.
Victor says it’s done.
Nikki says he could have run it by her first, though she’s fine with the thing about Adam.
Victor says he thought she’d be happy to be the CEO of Newman Media.
Nikki says she’s flattered, but she wasn’t expecting it.
Victor says the company needs her.
Nikki wonders what Victoria will say about it.
Victor says that Victoria’s position is secure… For now.
Nikki says she doesn’t want to end one family war and start another.
Victor asks Nikki if she’s turning him down.
Nikki says she needs to think about it.
Victor asks how Nick is feeling.
Nick says he’ll have to have a talk with Victoria about it before he makes up his mind. He thinks that Nikki should take the job. He leaves the house.
Victor asks Nikki if she’s upset with him.
Nikki says she’s more conflicted than upset… She needs to think about it. She wishes Katherine were still here to talk to and consult with. She kisses Victor on the cheek and leaves the room.
Crimson Lights
Sharon calls Michael Baldwin and leaves a voicemail telling him that she’s in a conflict with Victor and needs legal advice and an attorney to represent her.
Nick walks into the cafe while she’s leaving the voicemail, and after she’s hung up, he asks Sharon if she’s taking it to court.
Sharon says she will if she has to. She won’t back down. She asks what she missed after leaving the ranch.
Nick says that Victor did what he should have done years ago… He kicked Adam to the curb.
Adam’s Apartment
Adam comes in and pours himself a drink.
He says, “You want a war? I’ll give you a war!”
The Newman Ranch House
Victor looks sadly at a photo of Adam. He heads into his exercise room.
He looks sadly at his punching bag and takes off his jacket.
He says he’s all alone now. “No one. No one defeats me.”
He punches at the bag, yelling that nobody will win but him.
