Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Billy suspected Ashley wasn’t herself, while Kyle and Summer questioned Claire’s past.
Dr. Alcott’s Office
Chelsea tells Dr. Alcott she has great faith in therapy and treatment, but she’s not sure she can deal with Connor’s OCD treatments.
Dr. Alcott says she’s not the first parent to doubt they can deal with it, but with the right tools, she thinks Chelsea will find she’s stronger than she believes and more than capable of helping Connor.
Chelsea says her situation is different… She doesn’t have “normal” parental anxiety because of her past, and she’s worried it’ll make things worse for Connor if it hasn’t already.
Connor’s Dorm Room
Connor sanitizes his hands and sits down on the bed.
Adam looks around Connor’s room and compliments him on it. He says he can help Connor put away the stuff he asked him to bring from home.
Connor shakes his head and says his dad will do it wrong.
Adam asks if Connor likes this room better than his other one; he never explained why he wanted to change rooms.
Connor says he doesn’t want to talk about it.
Adam says there must be a pretty big reason that made him want to move in the middle of the school year.
Connor says it’s no big deal.
Adam says he’s his dad… Connor can tell him anything! He asks if there was a problem with another student or if it was too far from the dining hall.
Connor says it was him. He couldn’t stay there because of his “craziness.”
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells Summer he thinks there was more to Claire’s story than she or Victoria were willing to share with them.
Summer says Victoria was very careful with her words when talking about Claire, but she’s not sure… She says Claire was sweet and had an instant connection with Harrison. They haven’t seen Harrison be as happy as he was in a long while. She wants Harrison to feel safe again like he felt before Linda went away and before… She trails off.
Kyle nods. He finishes her sentence. Before they split up.
Summer says they need to research Claire before they even consider hiring her.
The Newman Ranch House
Nick walks into the empty living room and calls out for his father and mother.
Victor enters the room and tells Nick he didn’t realize he was coming over.
Nick asks where everyone is.
A Grimy Warehouse
Larry, one of the Newman’s bodyguards, escorts Nikki, Victoria, and Claire into the dingy warehouse where Jordan is trapped in a cell.
Jordan bangs on her door with a shoe and tries to dislodge the hinge, to no success.
Claire grins and says Jordan doesn’t sound happy.
Victoria says, “Just wait until she sees us!”
Jordan hears voices and calls out, asking if someone is there. She cries that she’s locked in to “die like an animal!”
The door opens, and Jordan steps back in shock.
Nikki, Claire, and Victoria walk in. Nikki tells her she’s sorry to burst her bubble, but this isn’t a rescue party.
Jordan yells for them to get out.
Nikki laughs and says Jordan has no power here.
Jordan says she can take them all.
Nikki advises her not to try anything.
Jordan smiles wickedly as she puts her shoe back on. She says Claire is suddenly so brave… And Nikki is bluffing!
Nikki tells the bodyguard to wait outside and closes the door.
Jordan asks what kind of “sick tea party” this is.
Claire says Jordan appears to have broken her nails.
Victoria laughs and wonders if Jordan thought she could claw her way out.
Nikki says Jordan obviously isn’t as smart as she thinks she is. She says it’s not much fun to be locked up against your will… Is it?
Jordan laughs and asks if that’s all she’s got. Did she just come here to gloat?
Nikki says she can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon after the hell Jordan put them through. She asks Claire and Victoria which one of them wants to go first.
The Newman Ranch
Victor tells Nick that Nikki has taken Claire and Victoria to where Jordan is being held.
Nick asks what he’s talking about.
Victor says Nikki insisted on confronting Jordan, and she’s there with Claire and Victoria as they speak.
Nick is incredulous. He doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
Victor agrees with Nick; it’s not a good idea. He says Nikki thought that confronting Jordan would allow her to take back her power and allow her to remain sober.
Nick asks why Claire and Victoria are with her.
Victor says they want to feel empowered by confronting Jordan, too. Victor doesn’t like the whole idea, though.
Nick says there are some strong women in their family.
Victor nods. You can say that again!
Dr. Alcott’s Office
Chelsea explains to Dr. Alcott that she attempted to take her own life a year and a half ago. She relates that she was on the roof and was convinced it was the only way to escape her pain. She had intrusive thoughts that were similar to Connor’s, and the only reason she is at the doctor’s office is because a friend was able to get to her in time and stop her. He held her in his arms and told her everything would be okay.
The doctor nods and smiles encouragingly. She asks if Chelsea sought help.
Chelsea says she went to an inpatient facility where she had an amazing therapist. She says it was tough at first because she had to go through years of emotions that she’d been ignoring, but it got easier, and she’s been in therapy ever since.
Dr. Alcott says Chelsea should be proud of herself; it takes a lot of strength to do that.
Chelsea says she’s proud, but she feels guilty that she might have passed something horrible onto her son… It’s overwhelming.
Connor’s Dorm Room
Adam tells Connor that the word “crazy” is just his OCD talking… The real Connor Newman is the greatest kid ever!
Connor says “Connor Newman” is crazy. Call it what you want; it is what it is! He walks over and starts rearranging his bookshelf.
Adam says they’ll fix it, and everything will be okay. He wants to talk about the room change and asks if someone was bullying Connor; he wants to understand so he can help.
Connor says the room number was the problem.
Adam nods. He says Connor’s favorite number is seven, or any number that can be divided by seven.
Connor says he was in room 23, and two plus three equals five, which is a bad number.
Adam says his favorite number is 21.
Connor figures it must be 21 because of Las Vegas… His dad loves to gamble!
Adam asks who told him that.
Connor says Johnny overheard his parents, Victoria and Billy, talking about how Adam had lived in Vegas and liked to play cards.
Adam chuckles and says that was a lifetime ago. He asks what Connor thinks about the retreat that Dr. Alcott mentioned.
Connor says it’s a hospital for crazy people.
Adam says that’s not what it is… It’s a place with people who know about OCD and can get Connor the help he needs. He says it’d be a relief not to have to worry so much about it.
Connor says he thought they didn’t have to decide yet.
Adam says he said they’d talk about it, and that’s what they’re doing.
Connor says he doesn’t want to go; he’s scared.
Adam says he understands that moving to a new place is scary, but he and Connor’s mom will do everything possible to make it easy on him.
Connor says there’s nothing they can do; there’s no point.
Adam figures they could get the room number reserved in advance.
Connor says he knows where everything is in his room, but he won’t know where anything is, and he’ll be alone.
Adam says Connor will make friends there.
Connor says he doesn’t have friends at his current school; how would he have friends at the “retreat?”
Adam says it’ll be alright.
Connor shakes his head. Not if he has to go to that place.
Adam says they’ll see how it plays out. They’re starting the process, and like Connor said, they haven’t made any decisions yet.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells Summer he agrees that they should find out about Claire and her past.
Summer says it’d be nice if Claire turns out to be perfect.
Kyle says they must consider that Claire might not be interested in the job. She may have said she wants to work with children, but that doesn’t mean she wants to be a nanny. He thinks it’s worth a shot, though.
Summer says she’ll do some digging to find out what Victoria hasn’t told them about Claire, and they’ll go from there.

A Grimy Warehouse
Jordan says if they’re there for closure… There will never be any closure. She says she’ll haunt each of them for the rest of their lives.
Victoria says Jordan is so dramatic.
Claire says she’s always been like that, but it’s a lot less effective than she remembers.
Nikki tells Jordan she can rant and rave all she wants, but her days of terrorizing their family are over.
Jordan says Nikki can tell herself that when she’s alone and pouring herself a big glass of vodka. She figures Nikki must be drunk right now; it’s the only way she could get herself “ginned up” to confront her!
Nikki says she hasn’t had a drop in days; Jordan may have stolen her sobriety, but she’s taken it back.
Victoria says Jordan stole her daughter, but she’s taken her back, and now she’s home where she belongs.
Claire says Jordan stole her life, but she’s getting it back with a family who loves her; it’s even better than she could have dreamed!
Jordan tells them they’re all stupid. They whine, strut around, and worry about what Jordan did to them—what they deserved. Is their worrying going to solve their problems? She says Nikki can’t think it’s that easy.
Nikki asks Jordan to remind her which one of them was stupid enough to get herself locked into this cell.
Jordan says time has given her clarity.
Victoria snorts. “Is she for real?”
Jordan says she’s studied Nikki and Victoria for years, and she’s seen their arrogance and she predicts tragedy and doom! She points at each of them in turn, “For you, and you, and you!” She calls Claire an ungrateful brat.
Victoria tells Jordan she shouldn’t dare to talk to her daughter like that.
Jordan says Victoria’s bouncing baby is all grown up now, and she’s full of hate. She asks what Victoria thinks Claire will do next. Maybe Claire will try to kill Victoria again, but this time, she’ll succeed!
Victoria says that’s in the past, and it was all due to Jordan’s influence.
Jordan says she raised Claire and loved her. She asks Victoria if she trusts Claire. She couldn’t love her unless she trusted her!
Claire tells Jordan that she used her.
Jordan says Claire loathes her, but Victoria should watch out… Claire will turn on her!
Victoria says there’s nothing Jordan could do or say to make her doubt her daughter… She loves and trusts Claire, which Jordan can’t understand.
Jordan says Victoria should sleep with one eye open.
Victoria says Jordan is a monster.
Jordan shakes her head. She sees the world as it is. She tells Claire that she’s keeping her eye on the prize. She says Claire snowed all of them as Nikki’s assistant; who’s to say she’s not scamming them right now as their long-lost daughter?
Claire says she’s changed. She’s gotten help and knows what love and family are now.
Jordan says Claire understands nothing. She tells Victoria she can’t have much heart left… She can’t even hold onto a man or a house. All she has left is the Newman’s grandeur and the Newman name to keep her going.
Nikki tells Jordan that’s enough out of her. She curses.
Jordan laughs and tells Nikki to shut up; she knows what Nikki really wants… She wants to run out to a liquor store and find the best bottle of vodka so all of this will go away.
Nikki says she doesn’t think so; she’s won, and seeing Jordan humiliated and exposed as a miserable human being reminds her that she’s much stronger without a drink.
Jordan says she wishes Nikki could have shared that joy with Seth, her poor sponsor. She says Seth is dead because of Nikki.
Nikki gets up in Jordan’s face and says Seth is dead because of her. She says Jordan is a serial killer.
Victoria tells Jordan it’s over… She’s lost, and she can never hurt them again.
Jordan smiles and says it’s a pretty picture.
Nikki hopes that “pretty picture” torments Jordan for the rest of her life. The three of them are bound in love and strength, which Jordan could never understand. She’ll have plenty of time to think about it since she’ll be in prison forever.
Jordan is surprised that Victor won’t keep her in the cell and feed her spoiled food and an occasional rat.
Nikki says if she had her way, Jordan would never leave this hellhole… Which was literally of Jordan’s own making! She says the next best thing is to know that Jordan will rot away slowly in her cell.
Jordan tells Claire that she only did what had to be done; she wanted to avenge her sister’s humiliation at the Newmans’ hands, but with their crocodile tears, they can get away with anything.
Claire tells Jordan she’s sick.
Jordan says Claire thinks she’ll fit right into the Newman family, but she’ll be an outcast and a black sheep just like her new uncle, Adam. It’ll be worse for her because she’s half Howard.
Claire tells Jordan she can’t get to her anymore; she’s where she always belonged.
Jordan calls Claire a hateful backstabber. She hopes selling out to “these vipers” makes her miserable with every breath she takes.
Victoria says her family loves and accepts Claire; she has the home that Jordan stole from her, but Jordan will die alone.
Jordan says maybe someone will die… Sooner than later. She runs over to the mattress and takes a vial out from underneath. She says Nikki has forgotten something… Jordan is the one in charge!
Connor’s Dorm Room
Adam tells Connor they could go and get some pizza.
Connor says he’s not hungry.
Adam suggests they unpack the bag of stuff he brought, and Connor could show him where it needs to go.
Connor says he doesn’t want to. He says he doesn’t want to go to “that place for crazies” that the doctor wants him to.
Adam says the doctor thinks it can help Connor.
Connor doesn’t think anything can help him.
Adam sits down on the bed beside him and says he’s not alone in this… He and his mother only want the best for Connor… Maybe the residential program is what’s best, and maybe it’s not, but whatever it is, they’re going to be with Connor every step of the way.
Connor says if he means it, then he won’t make him go to the residential program. He wants to go home and promises to be good and do everything he’s supposed to. He begs his father to let him come home.
Adam says he can “absolutely” come home.
Connor hugs him.
Dr. Alcott’s Office
Chelsea tells the doctor that Connor is sensitive and picks up her moods, especially since she attempted to take her own life.
Dr. Alcott nods and says that’s not unusual.
Chelsea says she doesn’t want to burden Connor anymore than he already is. How could her child be in such pain, and they didn’t notice?
Dr. Alcott says it’s important to understand that no issue of blame is involved. She says Connor didn’t want them to know what he was going through, and what’s important is that he’s getting treatment now… It’s never too late.
Chelsea says she acted out to avoid the voices in her head until one day, the voices chased her onto a ledge. She says Connor has told her he doesn’t want to be here and has scary thoughts, so he counts or organizes things to make the feelings disappear. She fears Connor will find himself on a ledge before they can get him treatment. She apologizes and says she’s not trying to make it about herself, but she’s scared her own issues might be responsible for what Connor is going through.
Dr. Alcott says it’s better that Chelsea has gone through mental health issues herself; she’s going to be more sensitive to what Connor needs. She says Chelsea knows it’s not a quick fix and that it’s a process.
Chelsea asks if Dr. Alcott thinks the residential program is the best bet for helping Connor.
Dr. Alcott says the Exposure and Response Prevention is a critical step in helping Connor acclimate to the uncomfortable feelings that spark his ritualistic behaviors. She says it’s not an easy process and suggests they make a decision as soon as possible.
Chelsea says she’ll talk with Adam and get back to the doctor. She thanks the doctor for listening to her. She leaves the doctor’s office and buries her head in her hands in the waiting room.
The Newman Ranch
Summer walks in and hugs her father and her grandfather.
Nick asks Victor if he’s had an update yet.
Victor nods and says things are being taken care of as they speak, and everything is fine. He asks what Summer wants to talk to him about.
Summer says she has some questions about Claire. She explains that she brought Harrison to Crimson Lights earlier, and they ran into Victoria and Claire. She says it was strange to meet Claire since everyone had thought she was dead, but she’s alive and living under the Newman roof!
Victor nods. It’s a lot to take in!
Nick says it’s quite the story.
Summer says Harrison adored Claire, and they had a nice conversation, but it seemed like Victoria didn’t want to get into details about Claire’s past and where she’s been her whole life. She asks what she should know about her new cousin.
Nick says Claire’s backstory is complicated and ugly, and it won’t be as easy for some of the family members to welcome Claire into the family.
Summer asks what exactly went down with Claire.
Victor says Summer is part of the family, so she needs to hear the unvarnished truth.
Summer is astonished by what she’s been told; Claire played a part in trying to kill them all?
Victor says Claire was raised to hate them, and her aunt used her as a weapon against them. He says Claire is as much a victim of Jordan as the rest of them.
Summer is in disbelief and asks why Claire isn’t in prison.
Victor says his lawyer, Michael Baldwin, got her put into a mental institution instead.
Summer says she saw that Claire was in a hospital but didn’t know it was a psych ward. She knew Victoria wasn’t telling her the whole story, but she has no words for what she’s feeling about this.
Victor says it’s a lot to absorb, but he wants Summer to give Claire the benefit of the doubt, considering all she’s been through.
Summer says Claire put them through a lot.
Victor says that’s in the past, and they all need to welcome Claire into the family.
Summer asks her dad what his thoughts are.
Nick says it’s not as easy for him to forgive, considering what happened at the lake house.
Summer says she doesn’t blame him… He was drugged and stabbed.
Nick says it wasn’t just that… Claire is one of the reasons why Nikki’s sobriety was destroyed. Every time he sees his mom struggling, he can’t forgive and forget, but for Victoria’s sake, he’ll be civil and kind to Claire and give her a chance to prove herself in their family. He says it’ll take him time to get over what Claire and Jordan did to his mom.
Victor says he sees Nick’s point of view, but this is on Jordan, and she’s being dealt with as they speak.
A Grimy Warehouse
Jordan holds up the vial and says they’re in a hellhole like Nikki said, but Jordan created it, and she was thorough. She says the vial is full of a toxin more dangerous than what she used at the lake house. She originally planned to capture Nikki and Victor and provide them with “the ultimate way out” together, but now it’s on to “Plan B.”
Nikki tells Jordan she’s beyond evil.
Jordan says she’s sick of Nikki’s pompous yapping. Nikki thinks her money and her name puts her in charge!
Nikki laughs and says Jordan is the one with delusions of grandeur; she’s claiming to right wrongs when, in reality, her life has been meaningless. She says she can see Jordan in prison, trying to convince everyone how she’d “stick it” to the Newman family, but they wouldn’t listen to her because she’s just another inmate with a number.
Jordan laughs and says Nikki is stupid for believing that will happen. She holds up the vial and says this isn’t Nikki’s ultimate way out—it’s hers! She opens the vial and drains it in one gulp. She says goodbye to Claire and tells them all to go to hell.
Crimson Lights
Adam, Connor, and Chelsea walk into the coffee shop. Adam asks if they’d like some hot chocolate.
Connor says he wants to go up to the apartment.
Adam says that one of the delicious brownies is calling Connor’s name.
Connor says his mom might have changed something in his room; he needs to fix it.
Chelsea promises she didn’t change anything.
Connor says he needs to check it.
Chelsea asks if they can be together for a little bit first.
Connor says they were in the car together.
Chelsea says that’s true, but they have some decisions they need to make.
Connor heads to the indoor patio and takes a seat, and his parents follow.
Chelsea says Dr. Alcott recommends the ERP residential program.
Adam says it’s been a long day… They can talk about this later.
Connor agrees; he’s tired.
Chelsea says they can’t toss it aside; it’s too important, and they need to resolve some things. She knows Connor is concerned about falling behind in his schoolwork, but they’ll ensure he keeps up with his coursework while in treatment.
Connor doesn’t respond as he rearranges the napkins and sugar packets.
Chelsea says she knows it’s scary to go to the retreat and promises they have to try it so they can find the right place for him to get better.
Connor says his dad said he doesn’t have to go if he doesn’t want to… And he doesn’t want to.
Chelsea shoots Adam a look.
The Abbott Mansion
Summer walks into the house and tells Kyle that her dad and grandfather had a lot to say about Claire, and it’s a good thing they checked into her background.
Kyle says that doesn’t sound like good news.
Summer says it would be a colossal mistake to let Claire look after Harrison or even let her be alone with him… Ever.
Kyle asks how they got to “colossal.”
Summer says Claire is emotionally and mentally unstable… After what she’s done and what she’s capable of, she can’t believe that anyone would accept her into the family.
A Grimy Warehouse
Jordan looks around after drinking the vial and asks why nobody is saying anything to her. She asks why Claire isn’t saying anything after all she’s done for her. She staggers and collapses onto the bed.
Victoria watches and says they should help her.
Nikki says they didn’t know there was poison there, and they didn’t force Jordan to take it; she swallowed it willingly.
Victoria says she swallowed the poison to escape justice… Is that what they want?
Claire wonders if Jordan deserves to live after everything she’s put them through.

Having watched Colleen Zenk in the past on GL, I have been very sad with her performance on Y & R. She is so over-the-top as to be cartoonist. Hopefully this was the end of her run. Whoever gives her a part in the future needs to show a great actress the respect of a well-written character.
I think she’s full of s*** she’s not going to die
