Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Abby worried about Heather & Daniel’s bond; Michael, Victoria, and Cole strategized about Claire.
Daniel’s Apartment
Danny sits at the table, playing a synthesizer. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Phyllis, who’s looking for Daniel. Danny says Daniel is at the office… Phyllis can probably meet up with him there.
Phyllis says she’s brought a succulent as a housewarming present… She’s heard they’re impossible to kill, just like her!
Danny cringes and says it’s too soon for that joke. He invites her to come in to leave the plant for Daniel.
Phyllis notices his synthesizer and compliments him on his setup. She says she planned to take Daniel out for lunch, but since he’s not in, maybe she can take Danny instead!
Society
Chance enters the restaurant and joins Christine at her table.
Christine asks how Chance is feeling.
Chance smiles and says he’s all healed up.
Christine is glad. She congratulates him on his position as police chief and says he’s just what the city needs.
Chance says he’s been meaning to call her… He’s chosen to leave the police force and already has the paperwork underway.
Christine is shocked. She asks if it’s because he was shot.
Chance says it wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision. He’s given it a lot of thought.
Christine can’t believe it; Chance has been fighting bad guys for as long as she can remember!
Crimson Lights
Chloe enters the coffee house and sees Nick preparing his coffee. She approaches him and asks him if he’s trying the peppermint mocha… She’s heard it’s delicious!
Nick says he’s going to stick with tea.
Chloe says she Nick doesn’t seem alright, and she knows why… It’s got to be Sally.
Nick says his relationship with Sally is strictly professional now, and he’s fine with that.
Chloe says she’s not fine with it. She says Adam is pulling Sally back into “his evil vortex.”
Nick says it’s not his problem.
Chloe says Nick and Sally were perfect; Nick has to try to make it work.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Adam and Sally sit at a table in the dining room. Adam says it’s not awkward; they’re just having lunch.
Sally asks what could possibly go wrong.
Adam laughs. He says with them, a lot of things could, but so far, so good.
Sally wonders how they should handle their “non-date.”
Adam says he’ll have a salad, and she’ll probably have a cheeseburger with an iced tea since it’s a workday.
Sally smiles and says Adam really knows her.
Adam says they do best when they’re only concerned with the present… Not the past, not the future.
Sally asks what happens if she wants dessert.
Adam says dessert is always available.
Sally wonders if they can really “hit the reset button” on their relationship.
Adam says he’s willing to try, and he hopes Sally is, too.
Jordan’s Motel Room
Jordan talks to her sister’s portrait. She promises that the Newmans will get what they deserve, and they won’t see it coming.
Jordan’s phone pings with an alert. She laughs when she sees that the police force has released an APB (All-Points Bulletin). “Anyone having any information should call the Genoa City anonymous tip line.”
Society
Victor and Michael sit and talk. Victor asks Michael about taking on Claire Grace’s case.
Michael starts to protest.
Victor says he’s not going to criticize him for it, but he’s concerned that this will take an emotional toll on Victoria. She’s not as tough as Michael thinks she is, and neither is Nikki. He’s going to protect them, come hell or high water!
The Newman Ranch House
Nikki finishes filling her flask full of booze and tucks it in her blazer pocket.
Victoria walks into the room just as Nikki finishes hiding her misdeeds. She says she can’t believe this is happening.
Society
Victor tells Michael that even though Jordan and Claire forced alcohol on Nikki, he’s really concerned about Victoria. He says “that crazy woman” tried to kill her and is now claiming to be her daughter… Madness!
Michael says that crazy woman saved all of their lives.
Victor asks if Michael is defending “that monster.”
Michael says that he’s convinced that Jordan is a monster, but Claire might not be.
Victor figures that Michael has already taken on Claire’s case.
Michael says there’s real pain behind Claire’s actions.
Victor scoffs and says Michael’s crazy. Claire’s pulling his leg!
Michael says Claire is confused and troubled, and she’s someone’s child… Possibly even Victoria and Cole’s child!
Victor asks if Michael believes that’s possible.
Michael says he’s not sure, and they won’t know until the DNA results come back. Whatever the case, Claire deserves to find out who she is.
Victor asks what will happen if Michael “works his magic,” gets Claire out of jail, and she comes back to haunt them later.
Michael says he might work his magic and let Claire have the opportunity to have a real life.
Victor says Claire nearly killed them all. He wants Claire behind bars.
Michael asks if he wants that if she turns out to be his granddaughter.
Victor tells him to stop his nonsense.
Michael says he’s going to be at Claire’s arraignment in Oregon later in the day.
Victor says, “I don’t wish you good luck.”
Michael leaves the restaurant.
The Newman House
Nikki asks Victoria what she’s talking about.
Victoria says Michael has agreed to take Claire’s case. She says he spoke to her at length, and he’s convinced that Claire is a victim of Jordan as much as she and Cole are.
Nikki thinks Claire might just be a good actress.
Victoria says Michael is going to Claire’s arraignment, and Claire could be free on bail soon.
Nikki is shocked. She asks if Victoria is posting Claire’s bail.
Victoria says that Claire doesn’t have anyone else.
Nikki isn’t sure it’s a good idea.
Victoria says it’s the right thing to do.
Nikki says that Victoria’s big heart could let Claire out on the streets and running loose. She asks Victoria to get her a drink of water.
Victoria goes to get a glass of water, and Nikki quickly slips her flask into her purse while Victoria is distracted. Victoria says that Michael is going to see if they can get Claire relocated to Genoa City.
Nikki asks if Claire will be living with Victoria.
Victoria says of course not. They want to have her placed in a mental health facility so she can get the treatment she needs as soon as possible. She says Claire is scared and confused, and when she found out that Jordan had been grooming her all her life and lying to her, she regretted everything she’d done.
Nikki figures it might be part of a bigger scheme. Claire might go free, find Jordan, and the two of them could launch another deadly campaign on their family.
Jordan’s Motel Room
Jordan calls the police tip line. She says she has some news about the woman they’re looking for… She’s afraid that she’s going to do something to hurt that “poor Newman family” again!
The GCAC Dining Room
Adam pulls a bottle of hot sauce from his pocket. He hands it to Sally, saying that she always loved hot sauce with her burger and fries.
Sally laughs and takes the hot sauce. She asks if it’s safe to bring their past into their lunch.
Adam says hot sauce is timeless. He asks how Sally’s job is going.
Sally says it’s really good. Now that she has her wing-woman on board, the sky is the limit!
Adam says he’s glad Chloe’s on board with Sally, even though he knows Chloe despises him.
Sally says Chloe doesn’t despise him. Maybe “hates him to the bone” would be a better way to say it.
Adam smirks. He’s glad Sally is working with a friend and someone she trusts who will have her back.
Crimson Lights
Nick tells Chloe it’s not his job to save Sally from Adam; she needs to figure it out on her own.
Chloe insists that Nick and Sally were “magic.”
Nick says he liked what he had with Sally, but Adam did what he did best and blew it up.
Chloe tells Nick to un-blow it up and help Sally see who Adam really is. There’s still a chance for Nick and Sally.
Nick says it’s too late for that. Adam is a disaster.
Chloe laughs and says she won’t argue with that.
Nick says Sally knows exactly who Adam is and is willing to risk everything to be with him. That tells him everything he needs to know.
Chloe says Adam has messed with Sally’s mind, and Nick has abandoned her.
Nick says he didn’t abandon her. He backed away so she could figure things out on her own.
Chloe says Sally doesn’t think Nick wants to be with her. If Nick tells her he’s willing to give their relationship another chance, Sally will make the right decision. She asks how Nick can give up so easily if he really loves Sally.
The Newman House
Victoria tells her mom that Claire wants to get better and deserves a chance.
Nikki thinks Victoria is really her daughter. She says Claire only agreed to a DNA test if Victoria got her an attorney… What if she changes her mind?
Victoria says they already thought about that. Cole went back to the house and found some items with Claire’s DNA. They’re getting them tested to see if the DNA is a match.
Nikki thinks that’s good. They’ll get their answers with or without Claire’s cooperation. She thinks Claire is playing on Victoria’s confusion and compassion and is using it to her advantage.
Victoria tears up and says Claire might be her daughter.
Nikki says too much time has passed. She asks what Victoria is hoping for the future.
Victoria says she doesn’t know… It’s too much for her to think that the baby that she mourned with Cole all these years ago might still be alive. She has to focus on what’s in front of her right now; a young, damaged woman that Jordan manipulated needs her help.
Jordan’s Motel Room
Jordan tells the police tip line that she saw someone matching the description of Jordan at the South Side Motel. She tells them a room number (158) and gives the address. She says she’s happy to bring “this evil woman to justice.”
Jordan packs a bag and tells her sister’s picture, “It won’t be long now!”
She leaves a knife, three vials, the photo album, and Eve’s picture in the room.
Jordan looks back and grins evilly as she leaves the room.
Daniel’s Apartment
Phyllis picks up some sheet music and asks Danny if he’s working on some new music.
Danny says he’s fine-tuning the song to put on his new album.
Phyllis thinks it’s exciting that he’s working on a new album.
Danny says it’s been too long. He feels really energized and can’t wait to get back into the recording studio.
Phyllis asks if the song she helped him with will be on the album.
Danny grins. “Absolutely!”
Phyllis is glad she inspired him and says she must be his muse… Unless, of course, Christine is actually his muse.
Danny looks uncomfortable for a moment before saying that he’s really hungry and will take her up on her lunch offer.
Society
Chance tells Christine it was a difficult decision, but it was the right one for him.
Christine gets it. She thinks Chance’s mom must be over the moon about it. She asks if he knows what he will do for a career.
Chance says Jill offered him a position at Chancellor-Winters.
Christine laughs and pretends to straighten a tie. She says he’s protected people’s lives; the world needs more Chance Chancellors, not more businessmen.
Chance says not everyone in business is a ruthless cut-throat. Who knows, maybe he’ll do some good!
Christine says she wants to wish him well, but part of her can’t believe he’ll be able to make a clean break.
Summer walks into the restaurant and stands watching as Chance and Christine talk.
The Newman House
Victor enters the living room and greets his wife and daughter. He asks Nikki how she’s doing.
Nikki says she’s fine. She came home from work early.
Victor asks if she’s heard anything from Jordan.
Nikki says she hasn’t.
Victor figures it’s because the police are closing in, and explains that the police got a tip that someone fitting Jordan’s description had checked into a motel at the outskirts of town.
Nikki’s face drops. She’s scared to hear that Jordan is in Genoa City.
Victor says nobody’s sure yet whether it’s true. He’s going to check it out.
Victoria says that if Jordan really is in town, she’s not finished with them.
Victor says Nikki has to stay at the ranch so she’s safe.
Nikki shakes her head. She says she’ll never let Jordan keep her prisoner again.
Crimson Lights
Nick tells Chloe he accepts that Sally has always wanted Adam, and she still does.
Chloe doesn’t agree. She thinks Adam is manipulating Sally and will just break her heart. Nick is the one Sally needs.
Nick says he appreciates that Chloe is on his side. He says things will work out with Sally, but it might not be the way she wants.
Chloe tries to butter him up and explain how good he and Sally could be. She begs him to fight for her.
The GCAC Dining Room
Sally asks Adam how things are going at Newman… Are he and his dad still “hugging it out”?
Adam smirks and says he’s getting along with his dad, and they’re having positive communications.
Sally says that’s a change since Adam first went back to Newman to try to tear it apart from the inside.
Adam says he’s using honesty.
Sally thinks that’s a novel approach. She thinks it could backfire on him.
Adam says it was worth the risk. When he heard that Victor was sick, it changed the way he thought about things, and he realized that he’s not ready to let his dad go.
Sally asks if Adam loves his father.
Adam says it’s more like bringing an opponent to peak form before they battle to the death.
The Newman House
Victor tells Nikki there’s nothing wrong with working from home for the next few days.
Nikki is stubborn. She won’t let Jordan win.
Victor says Jordan is dangerous, and she’s targeting Nikki.
Victoria wonders why Victor isn’t Jordan’s target… Why is it Nikki?
Victor sighs and says it’s an old story. He had an affair with Eve, who was crazy, and rejected her. He figures Jordan wants to get even with him by hurting Nikki.
Victor’s phone pings. It’s a message from his security team, who arrived at the motel and found evidence that Jordan was planning to do more damage, but Jordan wasn’t there. He says he’s going to the motel himself to see what’s happening.
Victor calls Nick and tells him there’s something going on with Jordan. He tells him to meet him at the Athletic Club. He tells Nikki to stay at home.
Nikki nods and says she will.
Victor hugs Victoria and leaves.
Nikki tells Victoria it’s terrifying that Jordan is in Genoa City.
Victoria says she can work at home with her mom. She doesn’t want her to be alone.
Nikki says Victoria doesn’t need to stay; she’ll be fine.
Society
Summer approaches Christine and Chance as they stand up to leave. Summer says it looks like they were having a serious talk.
Christine says they were talking about Chance leaving the police force.
Summer figures Christine didn’t like the idea.
Christine laughs and says it’ll take some getting used to; Chance has “protect and serve” in his DNA, and she’s having a hard time picturing him in an office working with numbers.
Summer says Chance has business in his DNA as well, and she thinks he’ll be amazing.
Chance says Christine is stepping away from her position as District Attorney and taking cases pro-bono.
Christine says it’s a way for her to help people who need it the most. She wishes Chance the best and goes to leave the restaurant.
Phyllis and Danny walk in, laughing and joking, as Christine is leaving. Phyllis says it’s a surprise to see Cricket there.
Danny explains that Phyllis had come over to take Daniel for lunch, but she got him instead.
Christine nods. Yep, he did.
Phyllis says she inspired one of Danny’s songs. She says she begged Danny to go for lunch, and he graciously accepted.
Christine says Danny is gracious to a fault.
Phyllis says she doesn’t want to keep Christine, it looked like she was on her way out.
Christine nods. She asks Danny to talk alone.
Danny and Christine step outside, and Danny asks if everything is alright.
Christine says they had a wonderful night the other night. It meant a lot to her, but now he’s here with Phyllis. She realizes what she’s said and thinks she sounds like a jealous teenager.
Inside, Phyllis asks Summer and Chance if they’re having lunch together.
Summer says they just ran into each other.
Phyllis smiles and says it was like that for her and Danny, too.
The Newman House
Victoria tells Nikki she doesn’t want to leave her alone.
Nikki says the security team is on high alert, and she’ll be fine. They hug.
Victoria tells her to let her know if Jordan tries to contact her. She leaves.
Nikki grabs her purse and pulls out the flask. She prepares it to be filled, but beforehand, she takes a big swig of vodka from the bottle. She fills the flask carefully and opens a bottle of water. She pours water back into the vodka bottle to hide the true level.
The GCAC
Nick walks into the club and sees Sally and Adam in the dining room.
Victor enters the lobby and sees Nick glowering at Adam and Sally.
Victor tells Nick that he needs to let it go.
Nick says someone tried to convince him otherwise, but it looks like Sally is right where she wants to be.
Victor and Nick leave the club to head to the motel.
In the dining room, Adam asks Sally if she wants dessert.
Sally says she’d need a nap if she had dessert, and she has a full afternoon ahead of her.
Adam says he’s trying to figure out how to proceed. He thinks their “non-date” went well and wonders if they should go on a real date soon. Maybe they could have a picnic in the park!
Sally gives him a look and says it’s December.
Adam says they can go for drinks.
Sally says they should have drinks and dinner. That’s their style.
Society
Outside the restaurant, Danny tells Christine that he and Phyllis share a son, and Phyllis is struggling right now. He says Phyllis is trying to be a better person, and needs some help to get there. He says they’re just friends who are reconnecting; nothing more.
Christine asks him if their dinner last night was the same… Just two old friends enjoying each other’s company?
Danny says he likes to think their dinner together was about the future; not about the past. He hopes they can do it again.
Christine says she hopes so, too. They kiss.
Inside, Phyllis and Summer watch through the window as Christine and Danny kiss.
Jordan’s Motel Room
Victor gets the key to the room from his security detail and enters the room with Nick following.
They walk over to the bed and Nick says it looks like Jordan brought all of her favorite things, including her sister.
Victor says something doesn’t seem right. He thinks it’s an obvious set-up by Jordan.
The Oregon Police Department
Michael enters the visiting room.
Claire says she didn’t expect him to show up.
Michael says she asked for his help. He’s here to request her immediate release so that she can enter a mental health program.
Claire asks if it’s going to be that simple.
Michael thinks it should be relatively easy, but he needs her to plead guilty by reason of insanity.
A Suite at the GCAC
A blonde woman walks into a suite at the GCAC. She walks into the washroom and looks at herself in the mirror.
It’s revealed that it’s Jordan in a wig! She smiles at herself and says, “It’s perfect.”
