Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Nikki was caught in a drunken nightmare as Aunt Jordan was revealed, while Chance considered changing his career.
Crimson Lights
Jill hugs Chance and asks if he’s okay. She says it’s irritating to come to town and find out that your grandson has been shot!
Chance laughs and says he’s fine. He’s still alive, isn’t he?
Jill is happy that he’s okay and that the person who shot him has been apprehended.
Nina says that it might have been a much-needed wake-up call. She tells Jill that Chance may get out of law enforcement.
Jill asks if it’s true.
Chance shakes his head. He hasn’t made any decisions, but he’s considering the possibility.
Nina says she’d never have to get another call that something has happened to her son.
Jill says if Chance decides to quit the GCPD, he should consider that it might be time to follow in Katherine’s footsteps and come work with her at Chancellor-Winters. She’ll show him the ropes of the business world.
Nina loves the idea.
Chance thinks it’s a generous offer, but that’s a big step for him… He has no business experience.
Jill says he doesn’t need experience; he’s heard about the business his whole life. He’s smart and dedicated, and she can always use another ally in the company. She knows talent when she sees it, and she thinks Chance would shine in a position at his family’s company.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane walks into the living room and says good morning to Kyle. She says she wants to talk to him before Jack comes downstairs and asks him if he gave any more thought to what they’d discussed last night.
Kyle says he’s not on good terms with Audra. It’d be a hard sell to convince her he wants back into Tucker’s plan to take over Jabot, and Tucker is unlikely to believe him either.
Diane asks if he’s worried about trying to get back in Audra and Tucker’s good graces.
Kyle says he’s torn about it… Keeping it from his father is wrong; he almost betrayed his family and the company, and Jack has a right to know about it.
Diane tells him to stop beating himself over it. She says he should tell Jack when the time is right.
Jack walks into the room and asks what it is that Kyle should tell him.
Kyle stammers and says he’s been wrestling with how to tell him something.
Jack says Kyle can tell him anything.
Kyle shoots his mom a glance and tells his dad that he wants to apologize for being a jerk about Jack’s offer to come back to Jabot.
Jack tells him it’s water under the bridge. Kyle’s already taken steps to straighten things out with Jack and Billy.
Kyle says it’s not enough. He says he’s considering Jack’s offer to be the COO of Jabot.
Jack smiles.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Devon walks into the club and spots Tucker sitting at a table in the dining room, eating breakfast. He sits down at the table with Tucker.
Tucker is happy to see Devon. He asks how he is.
Devon shrugs. He says he learned something new about Tucker this morning, and it seems that Tucker just can’t seem to help himself.
Tucker asks what he means.
Devon says he’s talking about Tucker’s latest lie, though it must be tough keeping up with all the lies he’s been telling. He’s had enough!
Tucker asks what Devon “thinks” he knows.
Devon says he’s talking about Tucker’s collusion with Mamie.
Tucker says they’ve talked about this already, and there’s no truth to that.
Devon says he knows the truth. Tucker is using Mamie’s firm to make investments into Chancellor-Winters behind Devon’s back.
Tucker says he has no say in how Mamie spends her company’s money.
Devon says Tucker had “conveniently forgotten” to mention that Mamie’s using his money.
Tucker shakes his head and says most of the money is Mamie’s.
Devon says it doesn’t matter. Tucker told him he wasn’t involved with Mamie, and that was a lie. He asks what Tucker is after.
Tucker says he’s not after anything.
Devon wonders why Tucker keeps deceiving him if he’s not after anything.
Tucker says he only wants to be closer to Devon.
Devon laughs. He doesn’t believe anything that Tucker is saying.
Tucker asks where he got the information… Was it Phyllis? She hates him and would be just the type to spread lies about him.
Devon says the only lies are coming from Tucker’s mouth.
Tucker says he’s tried his best to be honest with Devon.
Devon says he’d hate to see Tucker’s worst. He tells Tucker to keep his hands off Chancellor-Winters. It’s Neil and Katherine’s legacy, and Tucker’s not any part of it. Devon intends to keep it that way.
Tucker thinks he’s blowing things out of proportion.
Devon says he’s finished with Tucker. He tells him to keep his distance from him and his family. He gets up and leaves the dining room. He sees Ashley in the lobby and kisses her cheek in greeting as he leaves the club.
Ashley looks surprised and walks up to Tucker’s table. “What the hell have you done now?”
The Abbott Mansion
Jack is overjoyed that Kyle is considering the COO position at Jabot.
Kyle says he is. It’s taken him an “embarrassingly long time” to come to this decision, but here he is!
Diane says she can’t tell him how happy she is to hear it.
Jack thinks it’s fantastic news. He asks what changed Kyle’s mind.
Kyle says he just needed some time to self-reflect, and it all started when Billy told him he was a spoiled brat and was trying to take his job.
Diane can’t believe Billy would say that to her son.
Kyle says it was harsh, but he needed to hear it. It set him on a different path altogether.
Jack says Kyle had mentioned he had another opportunity he was exploring… What happened with that?
Kyle says it fell through, but Diane gave him some advice on how to move forward, and that changed his mind about Jabot.
Jack says Diane is a wise woman and asks what her advice was.
Kyle says his mother made him realize he needs to prove himself to his father.
Jack thinks that’s sound advice.
Society
Devon meets with Abby at the restaurant. They kiss, and Devon thanks her for taking time out of her day to meet with him.
Abby says Devon seems to be riled up… What’s going on?
Devon sighs and says it’s Tucker. He explains that Lily told him she found proof that Tucker was directly involved in Mamie’s investment in Chancellor-Winters.
Abby calls Tucker a bastard and asks if they have solid proof.
Devon says they do. Tucker is using Mamie’s firm to make investments, which means that Tucker lied to him about not being involved with Mamie.
Abby shakes her head. She thinks it’s horrible.
Devon says he’s done with Tucker, and he’s cutting him off from their lives.
Abby says Devon deserves a loving and trustworthy father, and Tucker can’t be that for him.
Devon nods. Tucker has let him down too many times.
Abby says Tucker probably wants to be a father to Devon, but he’s simply not capable of it. She asks if Tucker will back down now.
Devon doesn’t think so. He told Tucker to keep his hands off the company but doubts he will. He has to figure out how to protect his family and his company from whatever Tucker has planned.
Abby says she should talk to her mom… Maybe she knows something, and they can figure out what’s going on.
Devon says she’s right and has given him an idea. He pulls out his phone and starts scrolling through his contact list, saying that he has to contact his family… Tucker needs to be stopped and Devon thinks he knows how to do it.
Crimson Lights
Jill tells Chance the corporate world is his family’s legacy.
Chance asks if Nina and Jill discussed this in advance… Is his mother trying to get people to change his mind?
Jill says they didn’t discuss anything in advance! Her phone pings, and she gets a text message from Devon asking her to meet with him and Lily ASAP. She asks Chance to take her suggestion seriously.
Chance says he will. They hug, and Jill leaves the coffee house.
Nina says Jill and Nina don’t see eye-to-eye on most things, but she thinks Chance should listen to his grandmother.
Chance thinks it’s quite a coincidence that Nina and Jill thought the same thing.
Nina says she didn’t talk with Jill about it beforehand. It’s synchronicity! She says business is in Chance’s DNA.
Chance says he has no interest in sitting behind a desk and crunching numbers.
Nina says a nice safe desk job would help her sleep at night. He wouldn’t be just crunching numbers; he’d have to make important decisions and weigh the pros and cons of things… It’s nothing he’s not already doing! She begs him to think about it for her sake.
Chance promises to think about it.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker tells Ashley he’s not in the mood to talk to her.
Ashley doesn’t care. She sits down with him and asks him why Devon is so upset.
Tucker says it’s a personal and private family matter. It has nothing to do with Ashley.
Ashley says it does matter. Whether they’re married or not, they share a grandson, and Tucker seems to need someone to talk to.
Tucker says he might need someone to talk to, but it’s not Ashley.
Ashley asks if he can afford to be so picky… His life is imploding! His marriage and business are finished, and it looks like his relationship with his son is over as well. Whatever affects Devon also affects their grandson, and she’s willing to listen to Tucker.
Tucker asks her what that would accomplish.
Ashley says that’s a good question; does Tucker want to fix things? If he stops being such an ass, she might be willing to help.
Tucker says Phyllis has been spreading lies about him, and Devon must have heard something about him. It was the last straw for Devon, and now he’s cut Tucker out of his life.
Ashley asks what the lie was that destroyed his relationship with Devon.
Tucker says he made an investment with Mamie and didn’t tell Devon about it.
Ashley nods. It’s interesting that Tucker had a business relationship with Devon’s aunt and didn’t tell him. Anything else?
Tucker says Devon suspects he’s colluding with Mamie and that Tucker intends to buy a stake in the company.
Ashley figures Devon must be right. That’s the only thing that makes sense since Tucker returned to Genoa City to get his hands on Chancellor-Winters and Jabot.
Tucker says even if that was true, he wouldn’t acknowledge it to her.
Ashley laughs. She tells Tucker she doesn’t care… All of Tucker’s games and his lies are exhausting to even hear about.
Tucker says he’s not surprised… They don’t share any common ground.
Ashley says they share a grandson; there’s no greater common ground than that! She says he’s a crappy romantic partner and a “barely decent” father, but he is a good grandfather. She’s willing to help him mend things with his son in the spirit of peace.
Tucker asks why she’d do that.
Ashley says she’s not doing it for Tucker… She’s doing it for Devon, for her daughter, and for their grandson, Dominic.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Diane she has a knack for saying the right thing. He says he’s eternally grateful and kisses her. He says he’s grateful that Kyle has changed his mind, too. He asks Kyle if there’s anything he can do to help Kyle make up his mind about the position.
Kyle says neither of them can say anything to speed things along.
Diane says they both want their son back at Jabot.
Kyle says it’s helped to speak with them both about it. He doesn’t need any more time. He’ll take the job!
Jack grins broadly and hugs his son, laughing in delight.

Lily’s Penthouse Apartment
Devon tells Lily and Jill that he spoke with Tucker and confronted him about his involvement with Mamie’s investment.
Jill asks what Tucker’s response was.
Devon says Tucker denied it, of course.
Jill sighs. She suspected as much, but she had hoped he’d be honest with his son.
Lily asks if Tucker admitted to anything.
Devon says Tucker didn’t admit to the collusion with Mamie, but Devon thinks Tucker has something in the works, and they need to be prepared for it.
Jill says they’ll be ready.
Lily says they’ll take precautions and is sorry that Tucker let Devon down again… He deserves better.
Devon is happy to be able to move forward. Tucker’s not worth any of his time.
Lily is happy that Devon is seeing who Tucker really is.
Devon says he’s unhappy that he has to cut Dominic off from Tucker, but he has no choice.
Lily thinks it might be a wake-up call for Tucker.
Jill scoffs. She doubts it!
Devon says that to protect the company, they have to figure out what Tucker has planned.
Lily says that will be difficult since Tucker is dishonest about everything.
Devon says he has an idea about how to find out what Tucker is up to, and he hopes they’re both on board with his plan.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker asks if Ashley is serious about helping him with Devon.
Ashley says Devon wants and needs a relationship with Tucker. She knows what it’s like to cut off a parent and live with regrets about lost time.
Tucker doesn’t think that Ashley can actually bring him and Devon back together. She doesn’t have much pull with Devon.
Ashley says she has pull with her daughter, and Devon loves her deeply. She thinks it’s worth a shot.
Tucker asks what she wants in return.
Ashley rolls her eyes and stands up, saying she can’t do this anymore.
Tucker says Ashley’s running away… Again.
Ashley sits back down and tells Tucker not to start with her. He wants to go there?
Tucker says if he accepts her offer, it doesn’t mean they’re going to be friends.
Ashley laughs and says she doesn’t want to be his friend.
Tucker says she should admit that she’s trying to game him ever since they got back from Paris. He’d respect her more.
Ashley says she doesn’t need his respect.
Tucker reminds Ashley she said they could be civil toward one another.
Ashley says she thought it’d be nice to sit and gush over their grandson’s photos one day, or maybe they could sit at a family dinner together without causing a scene. She doesn’t want anything else from Tucker.
Tucker says, “Fine. I accept your offer.” He bows in mock appeasement.
Ashley gets up and tells him it’s fantastic. She tells him to have a good day and leaves.
Crimson Lights
Nina thinks Chance is just saying what she wants to hear.
Chance says he’s not ready to upend his whole career a week after getting shot. It doesn’t make sense.
Nina says she’ll support him no matter what he decides, whether it’s Chancellor-Winters or anything else.
Chance thanks her. It’s a big decision, and he doesn’t even know if he’d be good at business.
Nina nods. She knows how difficult it would be.
Chance says he dedicated himself to a life of serving and protecting, and it’s a mindset for him.
Nina says it’s not the first time he’s been hurt and ended up in the hospital fighting for his life. She asks how many more times he has to go through this.
Chance says she’s stuck with him. He says that he’s run away from the Chancellor legacy his whole life and was worried he wouldn’t measure up.
Nina says Jill would smack him upside the head for thinking that.
Chance laughs. He says maybe it’s time for him to rethink his place as a Chancellor in the family business.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley comes home and asks what’s going on.
Jack says she’s just in time to welcome Kyle back to Jabot as their new Chief Operating Officer.
Ashley applauds and congratulates Kyle. She guesses he’s not going after Billy’s job anymore… That wasn’t Kyle’s smartest move.
Kyle laughs and says he was finally set straight. Family is a priority to him now.
Ashley says she spoke with Tucker at the club. She walked in on a conversation with him and Devon.
Jack asks what Devon had confronted Tucker about.
Ashley relates that Devon found out about Tucker’s investment with Mamie, and he’s convinced that Tucker is going after Chancellor-Winters.
Jack asks why Mamie is involved with Tucker… That’s not like her!
Ashley says Mamie hates Jill, so maybe Mamie thinks that it’s worth it to work with Tucker to get Jill out of the picture. Tucker was hurting after the fight and, as usual, took no responsibility for anything. She explains that she offered to help Tucker mend things with Devon.
Jack says Tucker made it clear to Ashley that he wouldn’t fall for her efforts to get close to him.
Ashley says it’s not about that. It’s about helping the man who her daughter is in love with.
Jack says she shouldn’t get involved. It’s better if Devon cuts Tucker out of his life completely.
Ashley asks how that’s Jack’s call.
Jack says it’s not his call, and it’s not hers either.
Ashley says Tucker’s not her favorite person right now, but she thinks that Devon deserves to have a relationship with his father, and she’ll do what she needs to do to make that happen.
Jack says she’s not helping; she’s taking advantage of the situation.
Ashley says that’s his opinion. She has no intention of reconnecting with Tucker on any level. It’s about a father and son!
Jack says exploiting a father’s relationship with his son is wrong, and she knows it.
Ashley says she’s not exploiting anyone. Even though they hated what Dina did to them and to their father, they all wished they had more time with her, and this is the same situation.
Jack says Tucker is not Dina. Ashley is meddling when she should walk away.
Ashley says she doesn’t see anything wrong with nudging Devon and Tucker’s relationship in the right direction, and if this makes Tucker decide to back off Jabot, that’d be a boon to the Abbott family.
Jack thinks they should release the dirt they have on Tucker and let it destroy him.
Ashley says the stakes aren’t high enough with Jack’s plan. If he publishes the article and it doesn’t stop Tucker, they have nothing left!
Diane tells Jack she agrees with Ashley. Releasing the information could inflame Tucker.
Kyle nods. He thinks they should go with Ashley’s plan, too. Maybe reconnecting with his son will change Tucker’s mind about the Abbotts and Jabot.
Jack says it sounds like he’s outnumbered.
Ashley asks if that means he’ll back off on releasing the article about Tucker.
Jack says they can sit on the information a bit longer. They’ll keep it in their pocket for emergency use. Jack’s phone rings, and he excuses himself to take the call.
Ashley says she has to go as well. She thanks Diane and says goodbye to Kyle before leaving.
Crimson Lights
Chance leaves a voicemail for Jill, letting her know he’d like to meet and talk.
Nina thanks him for taking the first step. She thinks seeing him in a suit and tie every day would be nice. He’d look so cute!
Chance tells her not to get ahead of herself. He’ll meet with Jill, and they’ll see where it goes. He asks what she meant by “every day.” Does that mean she’s staying in town?
Nina says she’s unsure about her plans, but he’s not getting rid of her yet! She thinks he’d get sick of her nagging if she were always around.
Chance agrees, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want her around.
Nina tells him she loves him, and they hug.
Lily’s Apartment
Jill tells Devon that she’s not sure about his plan… It sounds risky.
Devon asks Jill if she thinks his plan will work.
Jill says there’s no guarantee, but it would require a level of trust that she’s not feeling right now.
Devon understands. He knows they’d be putting themselves on the line, but he thinks his plan is the best way to get the information they need.
Jill asks what Lily thinks… Is it worth the risk?
Lily says it might be their only chance to find out what Tucker is up to… And once they know what threat he poses, they can plan how to stop him.
Devon says he’d love to throw Tucker’s lies back in his face.
Jill says she’d love that too.
There’s a knock at the door.
Devon asks if they’re all in agreement.
Lily and Jill nod.
Devon answers the door and invites Nate and Mamie in. He tells them they have something to discuss with them both.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells his mom that he thinks he made the right decision.
Diane is glad Kyle took her advice to come back to Jabot. She’s going to love having him there.
Kyle says taking the C.O.O. position is one thing, but he might be in over his head.
Diane says he will be the one to save Jabot from Tucker. It won’t be saved by Ashley or Billy.
Kyle says he can’t let his dad down; he’s done more for Kyle than he deserves.
Diane says Jack will be proud of Kyle when he discovers what he’s done for the family.
They hug, and Diane leaves the room.
Kyle pulls out his phone and sends Audra a text message. “I need to talk to you.”
Society
Ashley meets with Abby and asks her if she’s spoken with Devon yet. She mentions she walked in on Devon confronting Tucker at the GCAC.
Abby says she just saw Devon, and he was agitated.
Ashley asks Abby if she knows what the fight between Tucker and Devon was about.
Abby says it was the usual… Tucker only cared about himself.
Ashley says Tucker cares deeply for his son.
Abby scoffs. Not enough to tell the truth, apparently. Tucker lied and is trying to take over Devon’s company.
Ashley asks if Devon has proof that Tucker was trying to take over Chancellor-Winters.
Abby nods. She says Devon has proof, though she doesn’t know what it is.
Ashley asks if there’s any chance that Devon and Tucker will be able to reconcile.
Abby doesn’t think so. She says Devon has lost all trust in Tucker, and their relationship is completely broken.
Ashley asks what Abby thinks about the situation.
Abby says it doesn’t matter how she feels about it… Devon is the one who’s important here, and he’s hurting. Every time Devon extends trust to his father, he’s let down by him.
Ashley asks how Abby feels about trying to mend things between Devon and Tucker.
Abby says she can’t make a decision for Devon. If she pushed Devon into a relationship with Tucker and he got hurt again, she’d never be able to forgive herself.
Ashley says Devon is already hurting… Maybe they can do something to ease the pain.
Lily’s Apartment
Mamie asks why she and Nate were called over… Are they ready to finalize Nate’s return to Chancellor-Winters?
Devon says that Mamie needs to come clean about her true intentions. They know that she has a plan in the works.
Jill nods. The plan is to oust Jill from Chancellor-Winters!
Lily tells Mamie that there’s no point in denying it. They know the truth.
Mamie shrugs and says Tucker has made some investments in her company.
Jill laughs. She says Mamie and Tucker are colluding for both their benefits.
Nate looks concerned. Has Mamie been using him as part of her overall plan?
Mamie says she’s been telling him the truth… She wants to get him back into the family!
Devon says Mamie was lying to all of them to make it happen.
Mamie says she has no ties with Tucker anymore since she became aware of his many transgressions.
Jill asks why they should believe anything Mamie says.
Mamie says they can trust her. Her goal has always been to unite their family under one corporate umbrella.
Devon says they will allow her to prove it if that’s the case.
Mamie asks what she has to do.
Devon says if she is honest with them and tells them about Tucker’s agenda, they can consider bringing Nate back into the fold.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker’s phone pings. It’s a message from Audra. “Kyle is reaching out. You were right.”
Tucker responds. “Reel him back in.”
