Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Chance decided to leave the police force and join the family business, while Ashley agreed to help Tucker reconnect with Devon.
The GCAC Dining Room
Christine is flipping through some mail while she sips coffee.
Danny walks up to the table and says hello. They joke about bills, and he tells her he’s put the final touches on the song they collaborated on.
Christine laughs and says it was barely a collaboration… Danny did most of it!
Danny says she’s his muse. He’s recorded a demo of the song, and if she’d like to hear it, she’ll have to have breakfast with him.
Christine says he drives a hard bargain.
Crimson Lights
Chelsea and Summer are talking in the coffee shop. Chelsea says Summer is obviously interested in Chance… Or has it gone further than just interest?
Phyllis walks into the coffee shop and says hello, asking if she’s interrupting anything.
Summer says they were talking Marchetti business. She tells Chelsea her sketches are great and to run with them.
Chelsea thanks her.
Phyllis says it looked more intimate than just “Marchetti business.”
Summer thinks she’s imagining things.
Chelsea says she has to leave and tells Phyllis, sarcastically, that it’s always nice to see her. She leaves the cafe.
Phyllis sits down and asks Summer what’s going on… She says Summer doesn’t trust her enough to be honest with her, and that hurts.
Society
Billy joins his mother at a table. He’s happy she’s in town.
Jill says they didn’t have a lot of time to catch up last time she was in town. Billy had some issues at Jabot, and she was dealing with other problems.
Billy asks if the problems were personal or business.
Jill says it was a business issue. She says that she suspects Mamie is trying to pull some kind of move on Jill.
The Newman Ranch House
Victor, Nikki, Nick, Victoria, and Cole file into the living room. Victor says that “those lunatics” Claire and Jordan both belong in prison.
Victoria says that Jordan will have to be caught first.
Nikki looks over at the bar tray and the bottle of vodka sitting on top of it. She flashes back to her time at the Lake House where Jordan and Claire had forced alcohol into her system, and in a moment of weakness, she’d drank the alcohol they’d left in the room with her.
Victor asks if anyone would like a drink.
Victoria gets herself a glass of water.
Cole says he’d love a bourbon, but the doctor told him that he should stay away from alcohol due to the poison they’d been given.
Nick says they’re lucky there was an antidote, or they’d be dead already. He wonders what Jordan and Claire’s motives were.
Nikki isn’t sure they had their plan worked out beforehand.
Cole figures it was revenge for things that never actually happened.
Victoria says they liked seeing them terrified. She can’t believe that they forced alcohol on Nikki and locked her up.
Nick wonders how they knew about Nikki’s alcoholism.
Nikki doesn’t want to talk about her problem. She says they all suffered, and they were all victims. Now that the alcohol has left her system, she’s feeling much stronger. She says they tried to break her, but they couldn’t.
Victor says she’s too strong for that.
Nikki wonders how she could have fallen for Claire’s lies.
Victor promises that Jordan and Claire will pay for what they’ve done.
Victoria says she feels sorry for Claire; she’s been trained all her life to hate them, and her life is ruined now.
Nikki says Claire is a heartless sociopath; how can Victoria feel anything but contempt for her?
Society
Jill tells Billy that Mamie might be mounting a full-scale attack on her.
Billy asks what Mamie could threaten Jill with.
Jill says Mamie’s rich now and has aligned herself with Tucker McCall.
Billy asks what Tucker is trying to get out of it.
Jill says Tucker would love to take Chancellor-Winters from her, and Mamie wants her family to run the company. She asks Billy if he’s happy at Jabot.
Crimson Lights
Summer asks Phyllis if they can talk another time.
Phyllis doesn’t want to wait. She asked about Summer’s personal life, and Summer shut right down.
Summer says it wasn’t intentional.
Phyllis goes down a rabbit hole, asking why Chelsea and Summer were talking about Summer’s personal life, and when Phyllis walked in, they both acted like they weren’t talking about anything. She asks if they were talking about Chance.
Summer tells her mom that she’s got to get back to work. She grabs her purse.
Phyllis asks what Summer wants from her. She’s working hard to be a better person and is changing. She’s doing it for the people she loves. She says Summer is putting up a wall, and Phyllis doesn’t know how to respond to it.
The GCAC Dining Room
Danny and Christine sit close together, a pair of earbuds shared between them as they listen to the demo. After the song is over, Danny asks Christine what she thinks of it.
Christine smiles and says it’s beautiful.
Danny says, “Like the lady herself.”
A bit later, they’re finishing breakfast. Christine says his song is stuck in her head, she’s going to be humming it all day!
Danny is happy to hear it. He says Christine really inspired him and helped him finish the song. He says he needed one more song in order to record an album, and he thinks this song could be the one.
Christine thinks the song needs to go on the album. It’ll put it over the top!
Danny thanks her again and tells her that her encouragement means everything to him. Since he’s come back to Genoa City, he’s found inspiration from her and Phyllis.
Christine is shocked that Phyllis has inspired Danny, too.
Crimson Lights
Summer admits that she lied about her conversation with Chelsea, but it’s almost an instinct for her. She knows that Phyllis is trying to earn back their trust, and she’ll try to give her mom a chance to prove herself.
Phyllis thanks her. Does this mean Summer will confide in her and take her advice? It’s about Chance, isn’t it?
Summer says she’s already told her mom that she’s not going to go after Chance.
Phyllis figures that Summer can’t stop thinking about Chance; the heart wants what the heart wants!
Summer sighs. She says she keeps wondering if she should try to work things out with Kyle, but sometimes she wants Chance so bad it makes her dizzy.
Society
Jill tells Billy that Devon and Lily are great partners, but she’s worried that family ties could take priority over their business relationship with her.
Billy says Jill is family; she’s the twins’ grandmother!
Jill says she’s only an honorary grandmother, and sometimes blood is thicker than water. She says when they merged the two companies, Winters was all about family, and she brought the Chancellor side into the mix, and now they’re thinking of bringing Nate in to redeem himself.
Billy’s surprised that they’re thinking of having Nate back after the way he’d betrayed them before.
Jill says she’s all alone in the company with no family of her own, so she thinks the best thing to do would is to bring her own family into upper management. She asks if Billy would be willing to leave Jabot and work with her at Chancellor-Winters.

The Newman House
Victor pours himself a drink as Nikki watches hungrily. She tears her eyes away. Victor tells Victoria that he doesn’t think Claire deserves any compassion; she poisoned them!
Victoria says Claire was raised by a woman who told her that Victoria and Cole were her parents and abandoned her. She’s had that drilled into her head for all those years, which means she’s Jordan’s victim, too.
Nick says Claire had a choice but chose the wrong thing every time.
Victoria says Jordan is the evil one, not Claire.
Nick wonders if Jordan is really Cole’s aunt.
Cole isn’t sure. He knows his mom had a sister, and they weren’t close.
Nikki thinks it’s strange that Jordan kept such close tabs on Eve’s life and planned this revenge for years, since she wasn’t close with Eve.
Victor looks at his phone. He says he’s had his people check Jordan out, and the report has just come in. Soon, they’ll know what Jordan is all about!
Nikki asks what the report says.
Victor says there’s a photograph, and Jordan is Eve Howard’s half-sister. They have a different father, and Jordan was a registered nurse.
Cole says it’s got to be true… His aunt was a traveling nurse.
Victor raises his eyebrows. He says that Jordan was registered at Memorial Hospital when Victoria gave birth to baby Eve, and she disappeared shortly after the baby died.
Victoria looks at Cole, perplexed. She can’t believe Jordan might have told them the truth about stealing their daughter.
Society
Jill tells Billy that she knows it’s a big thing to ask of him, but if she’s going to survive Mamie’s attack, Billy might be her only hope.
Chelsea walks in. Billy gets up and kisses her, saying that he’s just having coffee with his mom.
Chelsea says hello to Jill and asks if it’s a bad time for her to interrupt them.
Jill says yes, but Billy interrupts her and says Chelsea’s timing is perfect; his mother just made him a very interesting business proposition that he thinks Chelsea should hear about.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis tells Summer she’s surprised that Kyle is still on Summer’s radar.
Summer says Kyle was the love of her life, and she can’t just switch the feelings off. She says that she wants to do the right thing for Harrison, too.
Phyllis says things are always more complicated when children are involved. She recalls Summer telling her that her marriage to Kyle was unsalvageable.
Summer says it probably is, but she doesn’t know. She thinks it might just be something to distract her feelings for Chance.
Phyllis says chemistry can’t be ignored.
Summer says that even if there is chemistry, Chance is unattainable.
Phyllis says nothing is unattainable if you want it badly enough.
Summer asks if Phyllis is really telling her to stop at nothing to get what she wants; didn’t the “new and improved” Phyllis try to warn her about that type of thing?
Phyllis says she did, but she wants her daughter to follow her heart.
Summer says she doesn’t need to worry about her. She only told Phyllis that much information because she was digging for it.
Phyllis says she understands that Summer doesn’t want her meddling in her life. She asks that Summer come to her next time instead.
Summer agrees and says she doesn’t want to talk about her love life – or lack thereof – anymore. She asks how things are going with Phyllis’s life.
Phyllis says, “Funny you should ask…” She says they should have lunch, and she’ll tell her all about it.
The GCAC Dining Room
Christine is still shocked that Phyllis could inspire Danny to write such an amazing song. She knows that Phyllis is Daniel’s mom, and Danny is working to keep everything civil between them.
Danny says there’s more to it than that. He says that Phyllis has been trying to be a better person, and after they talked, he had a breakthrough. He’d been struggling with lyrics about forgiveness and fresh starts, but it fell into place after he’d spoken with Phyllis.
Christine throws her napkin on the table and jokes that she’ll have to share her cut of the royalties with Phyllis.
Danny laughs. He says Christine shouldn’t compare herself to Phyllis. He sure doesn’t!
The Newman House
Cole says he’s not sure what to think. He’s having a hard time believing that Jordan would raise Claire for twenty years and poison her against them.
Nick asks if Jordan has a grudge against Cole.
Cole shrugs. Not that he knows.
Nikki says if it’s about Eve, then it’s about Nikki and Victor. She says Eve was “certifiable.”
Cole says his mother suffered from mental illness most of her life and was committed at one point.
Victor wonders if Jordan might have inherited a similar mental illness as Eve.
Cole says that Claire was shocked when she found out that Jordan had stolen her from the hospital. He doesn’t think Claire was conning them; she’s convinced that Cole and Victoria are her parents.
Nikki says Claire is smart, and even if she was brainwashed, she can’t believe she didn’t question her aunt’s story or ask for a DNA test.
Victor says Jordan would have anticipated Claire’s request for information and would have come up with some kind of proof.
Victoria asks everyone to stop. She says that they’re talking like Claire is their child and that Jordan stole her. She asks whose baby died if it’s true. She can’t wrap her head around any of it! She leaves the room, shaken.
Cole says he’ll talk to Victoria in private. He follows her out of the room.
Society
Billy tells Chelsea that his mother was wondering how he was doing at Jabot, since she wants him to resign and come work with her at Chancellor-Winters.
Chelsea’s surprised.
Billy says he’s surprised too. Things didn’t go smoothly when he was working with Lily at Chancellor-Winters previously.
Jill says that’s ancient history. Given his success at Jabot, she’s convinced he’s learned from his mistakes.
Billy says he’ll take the backhanded compliment.
Chelsea figures Jill is being sincere.
Jill agrees. She says Billy’s made tremendous progress in a year, and he’s really come into his own.
Billy nods. He says he agrees. He knows what he’s doing, and he’s making the right decisions.
Jill asks how Billy is enjoying working with Jack. She says most people find him insufferable.
Billy says he’s got a great relationship with his brother. He owes him everything.
Jill doesn’t think that’s the case. She asks if Billy is willing to leave Jack and join forces with her.
The Newman House
Nikki pours herself a hot drink and looks over at the vodka on the bar stand beside her. She tells Nick and Victor that she still feels guilty… She should have seen the signs.
Nick says nobody saw the signs.
Victor says he blames himself. He says Eve targeted him at the time.
Nikki says they’re all targets now. She asks if Victor thinks Jordan might have been telling the truth. Could Claire be Cole and Victoria’s daughter?
Crimson Lights
Victoria and Cole sit at a table and talk. Victoria asks Cole how he knew to show up at the Lake House.
Cole says he got a text from Nikki saying that Victoria was in trouble. He says he was in L.A. researching a book when he flew into Oregon and stepped in Jordan’s trap.
Victoria says they’re avoiding the elephant in the room. When Eve died, it changed them. The loss of a child isn’t something someone can get over, and now it’s being thrown in their faces in the most painful way she can imagine.
Cole agrees. Whatever closure they had has been torn apart.
Victoria asks if Cole thinks there might be a possibility that Claire is the daughter they thought they’d buried.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Christine and Danny leave the dining room. In the lobby, Christine says she enjoyed hearing the song and asks how long it’s been since Danny’s last album was released.
Danny says it’s been way too long. Christine is making him want to book the recording studio right now!
Christine says he should. She asks if Danny can send her the song so she can listen to it again. She asks what Danny has named the song.
Danny says it’s called “Hawaii on my mind.”
Christine smiles and says it’s the perfect title. She caresses Danny’s face, and they kiss.
Phyllis and Summer enter the lobby and see Christine and Danny kissing.
Society
Billy says he has challenges at Jabot, but he’s happy there. He’s stuck around long enough to make sure that Tucker doesn’t get his hooks into Jabot, and thinks that Tucker is just as much of a danger to Jabot as Jill thinks he might be to Chancellor-Winters.
Jill says Jack has Ashley, Kyle, and Diane. Jill has nobody, and she needs Billy.
The Newman House
Victor tells Nick and Nikki that they need more information before they accept anything that Jordan says.
Nick says a DNA test would be a good start.
Victor says they need to make sure Jordan and Claire are behind bars first; they can worry about the rest later.
Nikki thinks having to relive the memories of Eve’s death must be really hard on Victoria. She says Victoria is having a rough time lately, especially since she thinks Victor has lost faith in her… And now she’s going through this nightmare, which is enough to make anyone act out! Nikki glances longingly at the bottle of vodka.
Crimson Lights
Cole tells Victoria he wishes he had answers, but he doesn’t know any more than Victoria does. He says Jordan might be lying.
Victoria asks what happens if Jordan isn’t lying. They’ll have to wait until the police arrest her and question her until they can find out what’s real.
Cole says Claire could be their baby… If what Jordan told them is the truth. They need to find out one way or another and start by facing Claire again.
