Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Friday, February 16, 2024, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Ashley was pushed over the edge by a car crash, Jordan met with Seth, Nikki’s sponsor, and Adam thought Victor was testing him.
Chancellor-Winters
Devon and Nate enter the office when Billy walks in.
Billy asks if he can talk with Devon and promises to be brief. He has an exciting proposal that he’d like to get off the ground as soon as they can.
Devon says Nate should listen in as well; Nate has been doing a great job while Lily has been away.
Billy agrees. They all sit down, and Billy tells them his idea may not be a huge leap, but it’ll change the face of the company going forward.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley enters the house, shaken. She sits down in the foyer and hears voices as she thinks to herself. The voices are telling her she needs help, not to give in, and to be strong.
Ashley calls out for Traci or Diane, but there’s no response. She cries to herself and looks around the house, scared.
Newman Ranch
Nikki thanks Jack for bringing lunch… She didn’t know she was so hungry.
Jack reminds Nikki to remember the HALT principle from the AA meetings.
Nikki nods and recites, “Never get too Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired.”
Jack says her basic needs are her top priority right now, and they’re his, too.
Victor walks in and sees the two of them talking. He asks if this is Jack’s job now.
Jack says he’s doing his part as Nikki’s sponsor.
Nikki tells Victor that Jack is there to ease her anxiety; Jordan called her again.
Victor asks how she knew it was Jordan.
Nikki says she spoke to her, and they both had a lot to say to each other.
Victor picks up Nikki’s phone and asks if the last number displayed is Jordan’s. Nikki says it is, and Victor says he’s calling her. He redials the number.
The Empty Glass Lounge
Jordan says hello to Seth, who’s sitting at a table and drinking alone.
Seth looks up, bleary-eyed, and asks Jordan if he can help her.
Jordan says he looks like a man who could use another drink. She sits down with him and asks if she’s being too forward.
Seth says it depends on what she’s looking for.
Jordan says she’s looking for some company and a bit of conversation.
Seth says he’s not good for either of those and asks what time it is… He started early today!
Jordan says it’s still daylight. She offers to get them both a refill.
Seth says he likes drinking alone.
Jordan apologizes and says she must sound like a pushy stranger, but they have a friend in common.
Seth asks who their mutual friend is.
Jordan grins. Nikki Newman!
Newman Ranch
Victor sighs. Jordan isn’t answering her phone. He says he’ll have his security team track the number.
Jack doesn’t think Jordan would be dumb enough to use a traceable phone.
Victor asks Nikki what Jordan threatened her with.
Nikki says she was the one who instigated it, not Jordan. She’s sick of Jordan’s threats and that she’s made Nikki a prisoner in her own house. She called Jordan and told her she hadn’t won and to stay away from her family.
Victor says Jack encouraged Nikki to taunt the woman that nearly killed them all… That’s not helping!
Jack says he found out about it after Nikki had talked to Jordan.
Nikki says it’s true; Jack wasn’t there, but Lauren was. She says Lauren told her not to let Jordan intimidate her.
Victor says he thought bringing Lauren in to help Nikki at Newman Media was a good idea, but he was obviously wrong. Lauren encouraged Nikki to taunt Jordan!
Nikki says it was a good idea to bring Lauren in.
Jack says he suggested Lauren help Nikki at Newman Media, and he stands by his decision. Lauren is a good friend and a talented businesswoman, and Nikki needs support in her personal and professional life.
Victor says Jack doesn’t seem to have eased Nikki’s anxiety. What kind of sponsor is he?
Jack says he’s the kind of sponsor who cares deeply about Nikki… Not Victor.
Nikki says Jack dropped everything to help her. Hearing Jordan’s voice brought back a lot of old feelings, and she desperately wanted a drink to calm her nerves. She says she asked Lauren to go out for lunch.
Victor is outraged. He says he asked her to stay at home where she would be safe!
Nikki says she needed a drink so badly she was ready to do anything to get it, but Lauren suggested that Jack come over with lunch instead. She says it’s only because of Lauren and Jack that she’s sober right now.
Victor begrudgingly says he’s glad she didn’t drink and thanks Jack for coming over in the middle of a workday to help his wife. He says Jack’s job is done, and he should leave now.
Jack asks Nikki if she’s ready for him to leave.
Nikki says she feels better now. She thanks Jack and says Victor’s right; he should go back to his day.
Jack nods and tells her she can call him any time. He says goodbye to Victor and leaves the house.
Nikki tells Victor that she knows it can’t be easy to accept that Jack is helping her.
Victor sighs. He says that Jordan threatened her, and she called Jack Abbott instead of calling him… He’s her husband, for God’s sake!
Nikki is upset. She says she’s not choosing Jack over Victor; she’s choosing her sobriety over drinking, and it upsets her when Victor challenges Jack like that!
Victor sighs and says if it helps her, he’ll continue to support Jack as her sponsor.
Nikki thanks him and says it helps a lot.
Chancellor-Winters
Billy tells Devon and Nate that he’s spoken with Jill, and she agrees… It’s time for Jill and her Abbott name to have more representation in the company.
Devon says they already consult Jill on all major issues and decisions in the company, and she’s made it clear she doesn’t want to be hands-on with the day-to-day issues.
Billy nods. He says he wasn’t being clear… Jill doesn’t want to be more hands-on. He says he understands the value and importance of the Chancellor and Winters names, but Jill is half-owner of the company, and she’s neither a Chancellor nor a Winters.
Devon asks what his point is.
Billy says he and Jill feel it’s time to add Abbott to the company name.
Devon asks Billy to walk him through his thoughts… Chancellor Industries was always called that, even when Jill ran it alone. When they merged the companies, Devon dropped “Hamilton” from Hamilton-Winters so they could simplify the naming.
Billy says Devon recently changed his name to Winters, and he’s represented by his grandmother’s last name and Neil’s last name as well. He says he doesn’t want to take any names away; he’s suggesting they add another one. He suggests “Abbott-Chancellor-Winters,” which could be shortened to ACW.
Nate says it sounds like Billy wants top billing on the company.
Billy smiles and says it’s in alphabetical order and it’s open to discussion.
Devon figures they should pump the brakes on it… He wonders where this is coming from since Jill never had an issue with her name not being associated with the company. He says Jill never bothered adding her name before… Why is it only an issue now that Billy’s here?
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley takes a drink and fumbles when she sets it down, almost tipping the glass over. She whispers to herself, “Stop, stop, stop.”
The front door shuts, and Ashley nearly jumps out of her skin. Jack walks in and says he never meant to startle her.
Ashley says the house was quiet, and she wasn’t expecting to see him.
Jack says he needed to stop by and pick up a file he left behind. He asks where she went earlier.
Ashley says she sent him a text message.
Jack says she told him she was okay and not to worry about her, but they were in the middle of an important conversation when she disappeared.
Ashley says she needed some air.
Jack says he knows she’s going through a lot right now.
Ashley says she’s past the worst of it, but she has to do this alone.
Jack disagrees. He says this is what family is for; he wants to be there for her. He asks her not to shut him out.
Ashley wishes there was something Jack could do for her, but she says there’s nothing he can do to help. She says she’s barely hanging on right now.
Newman Ranch
Victor tells Nikki that the call from Jordan must have upset her.
Nikki says it did; she told Jordan she couldn’t beat them and told Jordan to come after her at the ranch… Just give her a reason to cross a line! She says Jordan is a psychopath, and they need to stop her.
Victor agrees. He says he’s setting a plan in motion to stop this nightmare once and for all.
Nikki asks what the plan is.
Victor won’t tell her. He says he has it under control. He asks if she trusts him.
Nikki says she does trust him.
Victor nods. He says all he wants Nikki to worry about is getting better.
The Empty Glass Lounge
Jordan brings Seth a beer and says it’s on her… One of her favorite things about this bar is that happy hour goes from noon to 8:00!
Seth thanks her and asks her name.
Jordan says her name is Isabel.
Seth introduces himself. “I’m Seth.”
Jordan says she knows his name.
Seth asks how she knows his name… And how does she know Nikki Newman?
Jordan says it’s a sad story.
Seth laughs and says she’s in the right place for a sad story… This bar is filled with them.
Jordan says Nikki and her used to be great friends. They partied together until all hours of the night. They drank for free and charmed all the bartenders.
Seth laughs and raises his bottle in a toast. “The good old days!”
Jordan grins and says she and Nikki had fun… Until they didn’t. She says they both got sober together, which strengthened their friendship. She says they went to AA meetings together and did the steps together. Nikki was her rock, and she was Nikki’s rock.
Seth asks what happened to them.
Jordan says that’s the sad part… She stumbled and desperately wanted to get sober, but Nikki cut her off. She felt that Jordan was dangerous to her sobriety.
Seth says it must have been hard.
Jordan says it was devastating. She holds a glass up and laughs; look at her now! She says she doesn’t blame Nikki… How could anyone hate Nikki Newman?
Newman Ranch
Nikki asks Victor to tell her his plan… Don’t keep her in the dark! If he doesn’t tell her what he’s planning, she’ll conjure up all sorts of horrible things in her head!
Victor tells Nikki he won’t be threatened. He says he’s not in danger but he’s setting a trap.
Nikki asks what kind of trap he’s setting.
Victor says he will convince Jordan he wants to make amends for what happened to Eve Howard.
Nikki asks how he intends to do that… Victor’s security team hasn’t been able to locate her or trace her phone. A lightbulb goes off in her head, and she asks if Victor plans to use Claire to get to Jordan.
Victoria walks in on their conversation and says that’s exactly what Victor wants to do, but she won’t allow it.

Chancellor-Winters
Billy tells Devon and Nate that he’s not trying to make a power grab. He says it’s a peaceful proposition, and nobody loses anything.
Devon says it’s not an easy thing… They can’t just put “Abbott” on all the stationery.
Billy agrees. It’s not easy, but he thinks that Jill deserves to have her name added to reflect her legacy and her role in building the company.
Devon asks if Billy realizes it will cost the company money to rebrand it… They’ll have to redesign the logo as well.
Billy says they have a marketing department to do the redesign. He says without Jill Abbott, none of them would be sitting there now.
Nate says he gets where Billy’s coming from. Everyone recognizes Jill’s importance to the company.
Devon says they should get Lily on the phone and discuss the change with her.
Billy nods. Sounds fair. He asks Devon to schedule a call; he’d happily pitch the idea to her.
Devon says it’s not necessary. He knows what Billy is suggesting and will talk to Lily about it. He stands up, ending the meeting.
Billy thanks them for their time and leaves the office.
Devon tells Nate he’s all for protecting Jill’s legacy, but he doesn’t think that’s why Billy wants to change the name. He says Nate was quiet during the meeting; what does he think about Billy’s proposal?
Nate says he figured it was best to keep his mouth shut after Billy suggested Abbott come first in the name; he didn’t want to start an argument. He says he’s with Devon on this, though… He thinks Billy has an ulterior motive for the name change.
Devon nods. Abbott is only one of Jill’s many last names and Billy’s only last name.
Nate thinks Billy is being coy about the name change. He figures Billy might be testing their limits and see how much sway he has with Devon.
Devon says he’s not going to approve the name change. He says that Billy was the one to approach him with the idea… That tells him everything he needs to know. He thinks this is a power play by Billy.
Nate says he was trying to convince Mamie that Jill wasn’t out to get her and asked Billy to back him up, but Billy turned it around and said that Mamie was the one they should watch out for. Billy warned Mamie not to go after Jill. He says Billy gave the warning with a smile, but he was dead serious about it.
Devon says they’ll need to keep an eye on Billy.
Crimson Lights
Billy walks into the cafe, greets Chelsea with a kiss, and apologizes for being late, saying he got held up with Devon and Nate. He asks what the latest news on Connor is.
Chelsea says she and Adam went along with the school’s recommendation to talk to a therapist at the school instead of talking to one in Genoa City.
Billy says that’s good; they’re the experts and are with Connor daily.
Chelsea says she and Adam spoke to the psychiatrist, and they like her. She’s ordering more evaluations, but there are many different things that could be wrong with Connor… They have to figure out what it is. There’s no timeline for the results; they’ll let her know when they figure it out.
Billy says they have to wait for the results.
Chelsea says not knowing what’s wrong is torture.
Billy nods. It’s hard when your kids are hurting, but Chelsea’s doing the right thing. He says it may be hard, but she has to let go of her anxiety. She needs to take care of herself so she can take care of Connor if she and Adam decide to step in.
Chelsea nods. She wipes a tear from her eye and says Billy’s right, but it’s impossible for her to let go of her anxiety.
Billy grins. He says he’s there to make the impossible possible!
Chelsea smiles and says he always makes it better. She doesn’t want to talk about herself anymore. She asks Billy to tell her about his meeting with Devon.
Billy says his meeting didn’t go so well… Devon wasn’t receptive to the name change; he doesn’t like change. He says Devon told him they’d “discuss” it, which means that he didn’t want to say no to Billy’s face.
Chelsea asks what Billy has planned.
Billy says he’s not giving up; it’s the right thing to do. He just needs to find a way around Devon!
The Abbott Mansion
Jack asks Ashley to tell him how she’s feeling.
Ashley says she had their driver take her for a ride because she wanted “some fresh air,” but they got into an accident.
Jack is shocked. Is Ashley alright? Did they call an ambulance or the police?
Ashley says it was a minor accident. Police were there for insurance purposes, but everyone is fine… Physically.
Jack asks how Ashley is feeling emotionally.
Ashley says it was very jarring and eye-opening for her. She had a lot of feelings from the past bubble up.
Jack asks her what feelings she’s talking about.
Ashley cries and says she doesn’t know where to begin. She feels like she’s never going to stop crying. She wants to curl up in a ball and run away and never come back.
Jack hugs her and comforts her, saying she’s not alone. He promises everything will be okay as she sobs into his shoulder.
Newman Ranch
Victoria tells her mom that Victor had asked Claire at the hospital to pass a message along to Jordan.
Victor says Claire was open to the idea.
Victoria says she made it clear to Victor that she was opposed to the idea.
Victor knows Claire wants their family to be free of Jordan.
Victoria says Victor made Claire feel she owed them for playing a part in Jordan’s scheme.
Nikki tells Victor he’d better not have manipulated Claire in some way.
Victor says he didn’t. He knows that Claire wants to be rid of Claire as much as they do.
Victoria discussed it with Cole, and they nearly decided to let Claire go along with Victor’s plan, but she’s thought about it some more and can’t allow Claire to do it.
Victor says it’s the only way.
Victoria says it can’t be; she can’t believe Victor almost convinced her to allow Claire to be part of his plot. She thinks that it will make Claire lose the progress she’s made in therapy. It’s unfair to her, and they must find another way!
The Empty Glass Lounge
Seth tells Jordan she still hasn’t told him how she knows his name.
Jordan says she’s been in and out of AA meetings since she fell off the wagon, and usually sits in the back. She’s heard Seth share with the group, and she realized that he and Nikki are friends.
Seth says he and Nikki were friends; in fact, he was her sponsor. He says he can relate to “Isabel’s” story. He started drinking again, and Nikki was the first one to call him out on it and cut him off.
Jordan says it stings.
Seth says he doesn’t hate Nikki for cutting him off… He failed her.
Jordan says he shouldn’t say that; it’s never good to blame oneself.
Seth says he can’t help but blame himself… Nikki needed him, and he let her down. He says he misses Nikki’s friendship and realizes that Nikki was there for him more than he ever was for her.
Jordan asks Seth if he wants to get sober.
Seth laughs and says he wants to, but look at him… He’s got a drink in his hand! He says the first thing that AA teaches is that you’re powerless. He says he’s powerless right now, and he’s the last thing Nikki needs. He takes a drink.
Jordan asks about Seth’s needs… Doesn’t that count for something?
Seth says Nikki doesn’t want to have anything to do with him, especially when he’s drinking.
Jordan tells Seth not to let his pride get in the way of him reaching out to Nikki. A friendship with Nikki Newman is a rare and beautiful thing… He shouldn’t throw it away!
Newman Ranch
Nikki tells Victor that she agrees with Victoria; she doesn’t want Claire to be put at risk.
Victor says he doesn’t want that either. He says Claire is their granddaughter, and there’s no way he’d allow any harm to come to her.
Victoria says he can’t use Claire as bait.
Victor says Claire’s a lot stronger than Victoria thinks she is. One phone call will set things in motion, and she’s safe where she is.
Victoria says Jordan has already reached Claire in the hospital… More than once!
Victor says Jordan will reach Claire again; it’s the only way to deal with this.
Nikki says there’s another way to get to Jordan… Through her.
Crimson Lights
Chelsea tells Billy she needs to head upstairs to her apartment. She needs to get some sketches for Summer.
Billy asks if she’s sure… She doesn’t seem to be in the headspace for working right now.
Chelsea says work doesn’t stop because she’s a worried mom.
Billy thinks she should take a break and do some self-care.
Chelsea says she doesn’t have time for a massage, but she promises him she’ll try to relax.
Billy says he should take her for lunch… Maybe they could go for a walk in the park or build a snowman. He doesn’t care what they do as long as they do it together.
Chelsea says she’s already eaten, but she thinks Billy is sweet for trying to distract her.
Billy says he wants to de-stress her. He reassures her that she’ll find some peace in her life.
Chelsea says he’s right, but she doesn’t know how to be gentle on herself right now.
Billy smiles and says he’ll show her. They kiss.
Chelsea’s Apartment
Billy and Chelsea kiss passionately and undress, ending up in bed.
Afterward, they lie in bed, snuggling. Chelsea says Billy is the “moment of peace” that she needs… And so much more.
Billy loves to hear it. He says she’s his.
Chelsea snuggles in and wishes they could stay in bed all day.
Billy laughs and says they can… Actually, no, they can’t. He sighs.
Chelsea grins and says she has to get back to work.
Billy says he needs to get back to the office, too… But it’s so warm and cozy where they are!
Chelsea kisses him and tells him he will achieve all his goals… She can feel it.
Billy says if he does, it’s because Chelsea gave him the confidence to do it.
Chelsea says she feels guilty that she can feel so happy when her son is hurting.
Billy says it’s balance… The good days help get a person through the bad ones. He tells her she’s an amazing mother; Connor is lucky to have her, and so is he.
Chelsea kisses him.
The Abbott Mansion
As he holds Ashley in his arms, Jack tells her he wishes he could take her pain away. He tells her she’ll find her way to the other side of this… She’ll be okay!
Ashley smiles and thanks Jack. She says she’s better now.
Jack says she doesn’t have to pretend on his behalf.
Ashley says she’s not pretending… Jack is right; she’ll get through this! She’s so much stronger than Tucker thinks she is! She’ll be fine.
Jack asks her if she’s sure she’ll be fine.
Ashley says she is. She thanks Jack for his “wise words.” She says she sees things more clearly now.
Jack doesn’t think he said anything helpful.
Ashley says his hugs are miracle workers. She wants another one! Ashley takes Jack in an embrace.
Jack hugs her back but looks worried.
The Empty Glass Lounge
Seth tells Jordan she seems to have some strong feelings about Nikki Newman.
Jordan says they were very close.
Seth tells her to take her own advice and call Nikki.
Jordan says it’s too late for that. She lost her chance! She says she sees a bit of herself in Seth; she knows how much it cost her to watch her friendship with Nikki die, and she doesn’t want to see it happen to Seth.
Seth says it’s too late for him, too… He blew it already. AA says that a person can’t be someone’s sponsor until they’ve been sober for a year.
Jordan says she’s not talking about being Nikki’s sponsor… She says that he should save his friendship with Nikki; it could change his world!
Newman Ranch
Victor tells Nikki that he won’t use her to lure Jordan.
Nikki says Jordan’s already made it clear she’s going after Nikki.
Victoria’s confused… Did Nikki talk to Jordan?
Nikki says she did; it was a terrifying conversation. She says Jordan isn’t finished with them.
Victoria thinks their situation is a nightmare.
Nikki says it’s not… They have the power because Jordan is fixated on Nikki. She’ll keep taunting Jordan until she makes a move, but they’ll be ready for her!
Victor asks how they’re going to do that if they can’t reach her.
Nikki says Jordan will keep contacting her; she can’t help herself! She says Jordan wants to get under her skin, but she’s not going to let her. She’s going to turn the tables on Jordan and push her buttons until she makes a fatal mistake.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Devon tells Billy they’ve decided against changing the name of Chancellor-Winters.
Amanda walks in and tells Devon that Jill’s going to be sorry to hear that.
Ashley is hearing voices. She screams at them to shut up!
Nikki is on the phone with Seth. She tells him she’ll let the security team know she’s expecting him. He ends the call.
Jordan asks Seth where he’s meeting Nikki, and when he says he’s going to meet her at the Newman ranch, Jordan says it just keeps getting better and better.
