Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Adam accused Sharon and Nick of being in love then made a deal with Tucker as Phyllis blackmailed him.
Newman Enterprises’ GCAC Suite
Nate is flipping through some files when there’s a knock at the door… It’s Victoria.
Nate lets Victoria in and says he didn’t expect her back from L.A. until tomorrow.
Victoria closes the door and tells him that once she closed the deal, she had nothing else to keep her interest.
They kiss and start undressing each other.
Society
Phyllis asks Sharon if she’s got this right… If she stays out of prison and accepts Adam’s offer to be their company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Sharon wants her to prove her contrition in some way?
Sharon says it’s more than just a business deal for her. Cameron was a hateful man, and she wants to see something good of the company he left her.
Phyllis thinks Sharon is only saying this because she thinks Phyllis is poison.
Sharon, with a saccharine smile, says she’s not trying to be harmful. She and Phyllis have gotten to a place of peaceful coexistence, and it’s a good opportunity for Phyllis to change and grow up.
Phyllis says she wants all those things and hopefully can stay out of prison.
Adam sits at another table and looks on as they talk.
Chancellor Park
Summer comes up to Daniel and asks if they can be civil about things.
Daniel asks if she’s talking about Phyllis, who’s dragged Summer into this mess and now the D.A. has her in her crosshairs.
Summer says that Christine isn’t coming after her… She’s just trying to rattle Phyllis.
Daniel says Christine isn’t playing around; she’s serious about her offer.
Summer asks what offer Daniel’s talking about.
Daniel says that Christine offered a deal to drop Summer’s charges if Phyllis pled guilty.
Summer is aghast.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
There’s a knock at Audra’s door. It’s Tucker.
Tucker shakes his head at Audra and walks in. He yells that it’s hard to believe someone as smart and capable as Audra could make such a stupid mistake.
Audra asks if that’s his way of giving her a compliment… It’s not very good, and maybe that’s why Ashley has problems with him.
Tucker is furious. He says that Audra must have deliberately left behind some information about the singer to cause trouble for Tucker and that she’s either incompetent or is trying to screw him over.
Audra has no idea what Tucker’s talking about.
Tucker reminds Audra about a singer assigned to the McCall label who was getting involved with underaged girls on the road and went to jail for statutory rape afterward.
Audra says the singer went to jail because the PR department decided to cover it up. She remembers.
Tucker says he told her to clean up the mess so it wouldn’t come back to haunt them. He says he fired everyone on the PR team and told Audra to take care of the rest.
Audra says she deleted everything related to it.
Tucker says she emailed him about the progress, and he never got it because it went into his junk mail.
Audra asks what the problem is… That was years ago, and Tucker was supposed to have wiped the system when he sold the company.
Tucker says he did wipe it, but the junk mail remained on one of the servers… And Adam found it.
Audra asks how Adam found the information.
Tucker yells that Adam controls the company and has access to everything. He says Adam needed some leverage over him, and he went digging until he found it.
Audra asks if Tucker believes Adam.
Tucker asks if the phrase “Singer problem remedied. Hands clean.” rings any bells. He says she got careless and put them both in jeopardy, and she has to fix it.
Society
Adam comes over to Phyllis and Sharon’s table. He tells Sharon that he couldn’t help but overhear their discussion.
Phyllis says it was more like a grim assessment of her character.
Sharon says she didn’t mean it to sound like that.
Phyllis tells Adam that Sharon is nervous that she’ll have some karmic kickback.
Sharon says she was encouraging Phyllis to do some introspection.
Adam says it’s good for them to get this all out now before they all start working together.
Phyllis says not everyone at the table is as confident in their collaboration as Adam is.
Sharon says she never said that. She just felt it was important to express some of her concerns.
Adam fully supports that, but he encourages Sharon to focus on the positives and not on the worst-case scenarios. He says Phyllis is in a better place now, and doesn’t have to worry about karma.
Phyllis smiles and nods in agreement.
Sharon asks if he knows something they don’t.
Adam says he has a gut feeling and expects big things from Phyllis as their CTO.
Sharon says she loves his optimism.
Chancellor Park
Daniel tells Summer that he hopes that Phyllis takes Christine’s deal.
Summer says the deal would mean prison time for their mom… Does Daniel really want Phyllis to be in jail for Summer’s sake?
Daniel says he wants Phyllis to do the right thing.
Summer says Stark manipulated Phyllis, and she’s going to talk her mom out of taking the deal. She says Daniel needs to back off, and she leaves the park.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra says it’s not her fault that Tucker didn’t check the spam folder.
Tucker says it was her job to make it disappear completely.
Audra says if that’s all Adam has on them, it’s not much.
Tucker says Adam won’t stop digging, he could contact the PR team and get their side of the story.
Audra says they shouldn’t overreact. What does Tucker expect her to do?
Tucker says Audra needs to fix things with Adam and get him to back off, because her future depends on it.
Audra asks what he means.
Tucker says Adam runs a media company under Newman’s umbrella, and so does Audra, and Adam won’t be happy to peacefully coexist with Newman Media.
Audra says that Victor doesn’t want to merge Newman Media and Adustus.
Tucker says that’s great, because Adam always does his father’s bidding. He says that if Audra wants to keep her position, she has to handle things.
Audra asks who else knows about this.
Society
Phyllis says she wants to be part of making their new company a success.
Sharon says she believes Phyllis, but she’s a realist. She says she needed to have this conversation with Phyllis is because this is really important to her.
Phyllis says Sharon doesn’t want her screwing it up. She gets it, and she’ll do her best. Phyllis mentions that Adam told her that Sharon and Nick weren’t happy that she was offered the job.
Sharon says it should have been a joint decision, but she and Nick wouldn’t have gotten on board if they hadn’t agreed.
Phyllis says it may be awkward given their history, but she thinks they can make it work… After all, they had some good times at Restless Style!
Sharon says they did… For a time.
Adam says he remembers when it went from fashion to a gossip rag, and he was a regular target.
Sharon says it was more Billy who was doing that.
Adam scoffs and says that Nick and Phyllis got their digs in at him as well.
Sharon says they should all agree that they’re on the same team.
Phyllis says they absolutely are.
The Newman Enterprises GCAC Suite
Victoria and Nate lie in bed snuggling.
Victoria asks Nate what happened while she was gone… Victor is in Europe, and Nate and Nikki are running things. Did they get along ok?
Nate says he got along with Nikki, and she invited him out for lunch.
Victoria asks what prompted that.
Nate says Nikki wanted to have a frank conversation about Victoria and Nate’s intentions.
Victoria asks what was said.
Nate tells Victoria that it all came down to one question… What does Nate want?
Victoria asks what he had told Nikki.
Nate says he was honest. He told Nikki he wanted to run Newman with Victoria by his side.
Victoria is surprised.
Nate says he was just as honest with Nikki when she asked about his feelings for Victoria. He told her how much he admires and respects Victoria, and they have an understanding and a deep friendship for each other.
Victoria says it’s a perfect description. She agrees.
Nate says he told Nikki that their relationship hadn’t progressed to what he’d call “serious”, but he could see it happening.
Victoria says since they’re being serious, she’s not sure if she’s capable of having a committed relationship with anyone again.
Nate gets it; he knows what Ashland put her through.
Victoria says it’s not just Ashland; she feels like she’s in a stable place right now.
Nate says he’s not there yet either and doesn’t want to pressure her, but he feels they have a real connection.
Victoria says she likes what they have together.
Nate says they work well together planning global domination. They laugh.
Victoria says she feels the same way… She doesn’t want to rush things.
Nate says they’ll take it slow. They kiss passionately.
Crimson Lights
Sharon enters the cafe and sees Tessa and Mariah there. She says it’s a nice surprise to see them.
Mariah says they have some news they can’t wait to share.
Sharon asks what it is.
Mariah says they’ve found the perfect babysitter for Aria.
Tessa says it’s everything they were looking for in a caregiver.
Sharon says she knows what a relief it is to have someone competent to look after a child.
Tessa says there’s more good news.
Mariah says they’ve been talking and have come to a decision… Mariah is going to leave Jabot and come to work with Sharon at the new company.
Sharon thinks that’s the best news she’s heard all day.
Tessa says she loves the idea of them working together.
Sharon says she knows it’s a big deal to walk away from Jabot and all she’d accomplished there.
Tessa says she had to talk Mariah into it, but she’s happy.
Mariah asks when Sharon needs her to start.
Sharon tells her that she needs her to start immediately.
Mariah laughs and they hug.

Phyllis’s GCAC Suite
Phyllis walks in the door and finds Tucker sitting in an armchair. He says hello.
Phyllis smiles and says Tucker has resorted to breaking into her hotel room.
Tucker blinks and says, “It’s your hotel room? I thought it was my room; they all look so similar!”
Phyllis says she thought that Tucker had someone to take care of stuff like that for him… Oh, wait, it’s hard to find competent help to clean up your messes!
Tucker says he has to admit Phyllis and Adam got the best of him this time. He didn’t see it coming, but he has to clarify some things. He mentions the singer.
Phyllis asks if he’s talking about the singer who was into underage girls and finished his lucrative tour before being arrested… That singer, right?
Tucker says that’s the one, but he had nothing to do with the cover-up; it was all the PR team he fired.
Phyllis says he forgot to get rid of all the evidence.
Tucker says it was a foolish oversight on his part. Cleaning up a mess is good business.
Phyllis asks why Tucker is there.
Tucker says he’s there to make Phyllis an offer.
Phyllis says she’s had her fill of being threatened and manipulated by her.
Tucker says if he gets proof that Adam has erased everything to do with this scandal and isn’t looking for anything more, he’ll give Phyllis whatever she needs to be exonerated.
Phyllis says she needs Carson.
Tucker says he’ll let her know where Carson is once she’s handled her end of things.
Phyllis asks how she can take his word for it.
Tucker says she has to believe him. One more thing, though… If she wants Carson’s testimony, she’s the one who has to pay for it. Tucker isn’t spending another dime on Carson.
Phyllis asks about Jack and how Tucker wanted Phyllis to throw Diane off her game to destabilize Jabot.
Tucker says he doesn’t need Phyllis for that anymore… Ashley had been warning him all along that Phyllis would let them down.
Phyllis laughs and says that’s rich, coming from a woman trying to undermine her family’s company.
Tucker says he’s given Phyllis the keys to her own freedom. He says Phyllis is holding onto too much anger and needs to learn to open her chakras.
Tucker goes to leave, and Summer is there when he opens the door.
Summer asks what Tucker’s doing there.
Society
Daniel tells Heather that Christine has been talking about making a deal with Phyllis in order to protect Summer.
Heather asks what Christine has proposed.
Daniel tells her that Christine wants Phyllis to admit her guilt, and she won’t press any charges against Summer.
Heather thinks that’s a sketchy way to handle things.
Daniel thinks Phyllis should take the deal.
Heather laughs and says that’s why he’s not a defense attorney… It’s not going to happen.
Daniel says that Christine is close to crossing some lines.
Heather says it’s coercion and that Christine is boxing Phyllis into a corner… She won’t allow it.
Daniel says that Summer knew Phyllis was alive and let Diane sit in jail… She could be charged with obstruction of justice, aiding and abetting, and who knows what else.
Heather asks if Summer knows about the offer.
Daniel says he told her, and Summer doesn’t think that Phyllis should take the deal… Phyllis has brainwashed Summer.
Heather says that Phyllis is her client, and it’s her job to protect her.
Daniel asks if she’ll do her job, knowing that Summer might take the blame.
Heather says Daniel may want to protect Summer, but she doesn’t want to be protected. She advises him to leave it alone.
Crimson Lights
Tessa tells Mariah things won’t be the same without her at Jabot, but she’s going to be in a dream situation when she’s working with her mom.
Mariah says, “And with Phyllis, yippee!”
Sharon says that she’s managing, so Mariah will too.
Mariah laughs and asks how Sharon is handling it.
Sharon says they’ve all grown up and changed. She’ll be keeping a close eye on things.
Tessa says the job will be outrageous and full of quirks… It really speaks to her.
Mariah asks about Sharon’s relationship with Chance.
Sharon laughs. She says she’s enjoying her time with Chance, and she’s been really busy with work.
Mariah says Sharon shouldn’t neglect her relationship with Chance, because there might be something there.
Adam’s Apartment
There’s a knock at Adam’s door. It’s Audra.
Adam asks her to come in.
Audra tells Adam that Tucker thought it was important to share “the latest development” with her.
Adam asks if Audra is talking about the proverbial sword that’s hanging over Tucker’s head.
Audra says it’s terrible… What happened at McCall all those years ago was completely mishandled by the PR team, and Tucker didn’t know about it.
Adam says Tucker may have not known about it at the time, but he knew afterward.
Audra says she wants to make a deal with Adam. She says just as much in Adam’s best interest to keep the scandal buried as it is for Tucker and Audra.
Adam asks for more details.
Phyllis’s GCAC Suite
Tucker tells Summer he was checking in on how the case was going with Phyllis, and she said it was going great. He smiles at Phyllis and says seeing her feeling so confident is wonderful.
Phyllis thanks him and says she’ll see him later.
Tucker waves and leaves.
Summer closes the door and asks Phyllis what’s going on… Does this have to do with Diane?
Phyllis says she wants nothing to do with Diane.
Summer asks if Tucker is pressuring her.
Phyllis doesn’t answer.
Summer says Daniel told her about the deal that Christine offered Phyllis.
Phyllis says she can’t wait to hear what Daniel said to Summer.
Summer asks Phyllis to tell her that she’s not considering the offer.
Phyllis says she’s considering it; she’d do anything for Summer.
Summer says that’s what Christine is counting on.
Society
Christine and Heather are sitting at a table talking.
Heather tells Christine that it’s coercion.
Christine says that Phyllis exaggerated their conversation.
Heather says that Christine circumvented counsel and went directly to her client to try to leverage her into pleading guilty.
Christine says that Phyllis came to her and was the one who was trying to leverage things.
Heather asks how Phyllis could have done that… She doesn’t have any leverage.
Christine says that Phyllis isn’t a woman that Heather should go to war for.
Heather says Phyllis is innocent until proven guilty.
Christine asks if Heather really wants Phyllis on the stand. She’d be in front of a jury of her peers.
Heather asks if Christine is trying to bully her.
Christine says she’s stating facts. She respects Heather and believes that she wants justice.
Heather says that she knows the history that Christine shares with Paul and Phyllis, but the Christine she knows wouldn’t let a personal vendetta get in the way of a fair trial.
Christine says she’s letting the evidence speak for itself. She says Heather’s sounding as desperate as Phyllis.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Nate and Victoria come downstairs and walk into the restaurant to get coffees to go.
Tucker is sitting at the bar and sees them come in. He asks if they live upstairs together now.
Victoria makes a snide remark about Tucker sitting there all alone… He obviously has too much time on his hands.
Nate smiles and says they have a company to run. He excuses himself and takes Victoria’s elbow.
Tucker stops them from leaving and says he has some advice for them.
Nate doesn’t think his advice is of any value.
Victoria asks Tucker what he wants.
Tucker says that Adam is preparing to make a move to take over Newman Media, even though Victor had forbidden it.
Victor says they’ll deal with it if it happens.
Tucker says that they have Audra running Newman Media at the moment, and she’ll be on the front lines when Adam attacks… Are they sure Audra’s up to the task?
Adam’s Apartment
Audra tells Adam that Tucker wasn’t involved in the cover-up.
Adam says he covered up the cover-up… In fact, Tucker had Audra do his dirty work. How loyal.
Audra says every management team in the world would have done the same to protect their business.
Adam smiles and says that’s exactly what Tucker said. It’s a compelling argument.
Audra says there’s no need for any of it to blow back on them.
Adam says there’s no proof that Audra and Tucker weren’t involved from the beginning, and that’s the type of thing that could cause a scandal she’d never recover from.
He says that Tucker and Audra have the most to lose… And he has an offer for Audra.
Audra asks what he wants.
Adam says it’s obvious. He wants Newman Media.
Audra says it’s not hers to give.
Adam says that’s why Audra has to convince Victor that merging it with Adustus is a smart and lucrative idea.
Audra asks how he expects her to do that.
Adam says that she’s honed her skills in all her years with Tucker and will figure it out.
The GCAC
Nate tells Tucker that he has complete faith in Audra to handle what’s thrown at her.
Tucker says Nate’s confidence is endearing, but he suspects Victor would have another word for it.
Nate asks what happened… Did Audra get fed up with Tucker’s games and tell him she’s done with him, and now Tucker’s looking to get back at her?
Victoria says it’s awfully vindictive on Tucker’s part.
Nate and Victoria leave Tucker at the bar.
Daniel walks into the club as Nate and Victoria leave, and he sees Tucker with his head down on the bar.
Daniel approaches Tucker and says hello. He tells Tucker that he doesn’t know what his game is with Phyllis, but he wants Tucker to stay away from her.
Phyllis’s GCAC Suite
Phyllis tells Summer that she’s not going to just blindly accept “the bug’s” plea deal.
Summer pleads for Phyllis not to listen to Daniel. She says she doesn’t need Phyllis to protect her.
Phyllis says it makes her sad to see Summer and Daniel at odds.
Summer says she needs her mom to tell her the truth… Everything. She says that Carson coming back as a witness is just too convenient, and now Phyllis is involved with Tucker.
Phyllis says that Summer doesn’t need to worry about Tucker.
Summer says she’s not worried about Tucker; she’s worried about her mom.
Society
Christine says that Heather owes her an apology.
Heather says she was talking to her as a professional, but now Christine is trying to manipulate her into backing down.
Christine says that’s not what she’s doing… Heather doesn’t owe Phyllis her blind faith.
Heather says that she didn’t believe that Christine would try to take advantage of a situation to settle an old score, but she’s lost all confidence in her now. She says it’s bordering on prosecutorial misconduct.
Christine laughs and says that’s ridiculous. Is Heather serious?
Heather says she’s deadly serious. She’s going to a judge to file a motion to have Christine removed from the case.
