Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Adam gave Phyllis dirt to hold over Tucker’s head as Nikki raked Nate over the coals about his plans for Victoria and Newman.
The Chancellor Mansion
Lily comes into the house and finds Devon deep in thought. She asks what he’s pondering.
Devon says he’s considering expanding Chancellor-Winters and opening an office in Singapore.
Lily thinks that his new digs are inspiring him.
Devon says it’s certainly helping. He plans on having family over often… Tucker and Ashley are having their wedding there.
Lily’s surprised. She recommends putting away the breakables if all the Abbotts will be there.
Devon says he lives in Tucker’s mom’s house, and Ashley and Tucker certainly won’t have the wedding at the Abbott Mansion.
Lily agrees.
Devon thinks everyone will be on their best behavior at the Chancellor Mansion. He thinks Ashley wants to “blow up” Jabot just to make a point.
They talk about how Devon and Abby thought that Tucker was guiding Ashley, but they’ve realized that Ashley was the driving force behind it.
Lily says that Ashley might still be under Tucker’s influence.
Devon says he thinks that Tucker’s influence isn’t negative… He asked Devon to be his best man. He doesn’t think Tucker’s stirring the pot in the Abbott family drama.
Devon thinks that if Abby gets caught in the fallout between the Abbotts, he won’t be able to forgive the family members. He asks how things are between Lily and Daniel.
Lily says they’re doing well… They had a “painting night”, which was nice.
Devon laughs and asks if she’s a good painter… Maybe she’s a Michaelangelo, and he didn’t know it.
Lily scoffs and says she won’t be painting any chapels.
Devon says he’s happy she’s moving on from Billy.
Lily says that there are no games with Daniel.
Devon says he’s happy for her, and Lily says she’s happy for him too.
They clink glasses in a toast.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Abby meets Ashley in the restaurant.
Ashley asks if Abby’s ok… She seems stressed out.
Abby says they need to talk about last night.
Ashley wants to apologize for how things unfolded. She wants to end the feud peacefully.
Abby’s not sure if she believes her mom. She asks what is motivating Ashley.
Ashley says it’s been taking a toll on her and the ones she loves, so it’s time to end it.
Abby asks if Ashley can accept that Diane is part of Jack’s life and part of Jabot.
Ashley is going to focus on her future, and Jack and Diane can do their own thing. She says that starting a company with Tucker is exciting.
Abby says it sounds like Ashley’s giving up, which isn’t like her.
Ashley says life is too short to let her grudges consume her.
Abby thinks that Ashley’s change of heart is just a strategy to placate her. She says that Ashley doesn’t change her mind that fast.
Ashley says she’s moving on; she’s tired of the drama.
Abby says it’s hard for her to believe that Ashley will simply stop fighting with Jack.
Ashley says that how she behaved tainted Abby’s opinion of her, and that’s a big reason she needs to stop. Ashley says everything she’s done has been for their family’s and company’s protection.
Ashley apologizes for what she’s done and says she wants to fix her relationship with Jack. She says it’s complicated and will take time. Abby is the most important person in Ashley’s world, and she never wants to lose her daughter’s trust and loyalty; she’s done with these pointless battles.
Abby tells Ashley to just walk away from the fight; she can’t live her life with this resentment.
Ashley says she’s starting a new life and moving on, and she’s committed to mending things with their family. She never meant to tear the family apart.
Abby says that Ashley needs to make peace with Jack, not just for the sake of a truce, but for genuine family love.
Ashley says she wants the wedding to be full of love, so she’ll try her best to mend things with Jack.
Abby says she believes in her mom.
Ashley says she can’t make peace with Jack on her own… He has to want it too.
Abby is sure Jack wants things to return to how they were before.
Ashley says as much as she hates Diane, Jack probably hates Tucker more.
Abby says there’s some truth to that, but they can make steps to heal together.
Ashley asks Abby to reach out to Jack to help bring peace to the situation and asks her to convince Jack to come to the wedding. She doesn’t want Jack hugging Tucker or making speeches, though.
Abby promises to try. They hug.
Adam’s Apartment
Adam answers the door to Sharon. She comes in and says she’s been researching office space for Adustus.
Adam asks what she’s found so far.
Sharon says Victor offered them space in Newman Tower, but she thinks it’s important to have their own dedicated space.
Adam agrees. He asks where she’s been looking.
Sharon says she’s been looking on the other side of town… A totally different atmosphere than at Newman.
Adam says it sounds great.
Sharon asks if Adam’s alright; he seems a bit disconnected.
Adam says he’s been dealing with some personal issues.
Sharon asks what is bothering him.
Adam says that he wants to keep the conversation about business.
Sharon doesn’t give up. She presses him to work through his personal issues so he can put all his attention on their business.
Adam ignores it. He asks about the new office space.
Sharon says they’re embarking on a new business venture together; Adam needs to be honest with her.
Adam sighs and says it’s about how Sally pities him if he tells her that he still cares about her. He knows he has to let it go, but Sally brings out the best in him.
Sharon says Adam isn’t the dark and broken person he sees himself as; he’s better than that. She says Sally is with Nick, and she’s getting Nick’s support.
Sharon tells Adam that he can’t hang onto a love that has no chance, he’ll only hurt himself more.
Adam says he belongs together with Sally, and she’s only with Nick because he’s a “safer choice”. He says they’re not actually in love.
Sharon says it sounds like wishful thinking.
Adam says that everyone in town knows that Sharon is Nick’s true love.
Sharon says she can’t work with Adam if that’s the way he sees things between her and Nick. She says they’ve all been through hell recently, and Nick and her are ready to move forward… Is Adam ready?
Adam says he believes in her and has faith in what she wants to accomplish. He doesn’t want to destroy their partnership.
Sharon says that she has a special bond with Nick because of their past and their children together, but it doesn’t mean that they have a romantic future.
Adam says that Sharon may be done with Nick, but Nick’s not done with her. He says Nick’s first instinct when Sally lost the baby was to protect Sharon and Faith.
Sharon says Nick was concerned about his daughter and didn’t know what was happening with Sally.
Adam says that Sharon shouldn’t be avoiding Nick’s love.
Sharon says that Adam’s crossing the line; she won’t let him manipulate her to be a wedge between Nick and Sally. She won’t be a pawn in his game.
Adam apologizes. He respects Sharon too much to manipulate her.
Sharon says she should have never pushed Adam into talking about what was bothering him; he’s entitled to his feelings, but if it gets in the way of business, that’s a problem. She says it’s time to move forward and focus on their own lives.

Phyllis is sitting in the restaurant with Tucker. She tells him she has dirt on McCall, yet he says nothing?
Tucker says that scandals come and go… It’s all part of the game. He wonders if she’s heard another baseless rumor.
Phyllis says she has evidence to back her up.
Tucker says he’s going to call her bluff.
Phyllis asks if he’s ok with her going public with the information that his company covered up statutory rape. She says she needs Carson, and she needs him now.
Tucker says he knows what Phyllis is talking about, but it had nothing to do with him. He says he had already sold the company by the time it happened, and if anyone takes a hit from a public scandal, it’ll be Newman Enterprises, not him.
Phyllis says he sold the company, but he was in charge at the time. She has proof of emails that show he was dirty. She asks if Tucker wants this hanging over his head.
Tucker smirks and tells Phyllis to do what she has to do.
Phyllis says she doesn’t want it to get ugly… Tucker underestimates her.
Tucker changes the subject and asks what Phyllis and Christine discussed earlier.
Phyllis says she was discussing the trial date with Christine, which means it’s crunch time for her defense and for Tucker, too.
Tucker says only one of them would end up in a cell.
Phyllis asks what Ashley would think if she heard about Tucker’s involvement; it’s a game-changer, and Tucker knows it.
Tucker says Phyllis thinks she has leverage, but it means nothing to him. He says their deal is off.
Phyllis asks if he’s sure… Ashley will drop him like a hot rock if Phyllis tells her about it.
Daniel walks in and sees Phyllis talking with Tucker. He steps behind a partition, listening.
Tucker gets up to leave.
Phyllis tells Tucker he’s forcing her hand and should respect their deal.
Tucker says that Phyllis can’t touch him. He leaves the restaurant.
Daniel walks over and sits down with his mom.
He says he saw Phyllis talking with Tucker… Why would she give that snake the time of day?
Phyllis says they have bigger problems to talk about… Christine wants to prosecute Summer for aiding and abetting Phyllis.
Daniel says he knew this was coming… Phyllis dragged Summer into it.
Phyllis says she was only trying to protect them.
Daniel scoffs and says she just doesn’t know when to quit.
Adam’s Apartment
There’s a knock at the door. Adam opens it to find Tucker there.
Tucker says hello to Adam and Sharon.
Sharon says she was just leaving; she’ll call Adam if she has any updates.
Adam invites Tucker in.
Tucker looks around and says it’s a nice place. He asks how the restructuring of the company is going.
Adam laughs and says he could tell Tucker the details or he could just tell him what he wants to know… He assumes that Tucker talked to Phyllis.
Tucker tells Adam how Phyllis told him she stumbled on some “information” in old email folders.
Adam pretends he doesn’t know what Tucker’s talking about.
Tucker says Phyllis found information that could cause him some trouble if it was exposed. He asks what Phyllis has on him.
Adam says an email or two, maybe more.
Tucker asks what’s in it for Adam… Why help Phyllis?
Adam says he has his reasons, and none of them have anything to do with Tucker… What does Tucker want with him?
Tucker says he’s a simple man… He’s just there to offer a simple deal.
Adam asks him to continue… He’s interested.
Tucker says he can make things happen. What does Adam need?
Adam says he wants to keep Phyllis out of prison. If Tucker can make that happen, Adam will forget he ever heard anything about the singer Tucker is worried about.
Tucker asks Adam why he wants Phyllis out of prison.
Adam says he has his reasons. He says that Tucker was bothered enough by Phyllis that he came up to Adam’s apartment to talk to him, so Tucker should release Carson to Phyllis… Soon.
Society
Phyllis tells Daniel that he doesn’t understand the complexity of the situation.
Daniel says he understands that nothing is ever simple with Phyllis.
Phyllis says that Christine made her an offer, which she hasn’t agreed to yet… She has to plead guilty, and Christine will leave Summer alone.
Daniel tells her to do it.
Phyllis says that won’t fix everything.
Daniel says this is her chance to fix things and make things right by taking responsibility for her actions.
Phyllis says she doesn’t want Daniel or Summer to suffer for her mistakes, but it’s not as simple as her guilt or innocence.
Daniel says it sounds like Phyllis is making excuses.
Phyllis says that Daniel doesn’t know Christine like she does. She says that Christine is offering her a deal so they don’t have to go to trial.
She says Christine is afraid because Heather has built a strong case for her. She can protect Summer and walk free.
Daniel thinks that Tucker has something to do with it. He sees the look on his mom’s face and can’t believe she’s making deals with Tucker. He asks if Phyllis is willing to gamble Summer’s freedom.
Phyllis says it doesn’t have to be like that.
Daniel says Phyllis hasn’t learned from her past.
Phyllis says she’s trying to protect her kids.
Daniel says she may have killed Stark in self-defense, but she’s committed countless other crimes, including faking her death. She needs to do the right thing and take the deal.
Daniel gets up and walks off, disgusted with his mom.
Chancellor Park
Lily is sitting on a bench as Daniel walks up and sits beside her.
Lily asks Daniel what’s wrong.
Daniel says he just ran into Phyllis, and the D.A. offered her a deal… Plead guilty, and Summer won’t face charges.
Lily asks if Phyllis will take the deal.
Daniel says everything’s always about Phyllis, and she’s trying to manipulate the situation. He says that Phyllis always talks about how she wants to protect him and Summer, but now Summer’s life is in her hands.
Lily says that Phyllis might make the right choice this time. She says that Daniel is doing everything in his power to protect Summer.
Daniel says that Summer’s lost so much already; it’s time he stepped up to protect his sister, even if it means standing up to his mother.
Lily says it’s not just unfair to Summer; it’s unfair to Daniel too.
Daniel can’t just sit back and watch Summer suffer because of their mom’s choices. He asks if Lily has any ideas on how they can help Summer.
Society
Sharon walks into the restaurant and sees Phyllis typing on her phone. She walks up to Phyllis and says hello.
Phyllis holds her phone close to her chest and says hello.
Sharon says they might be working together, depending on the outcome of Phyllis’s trial.
Phyllis says Sharon sounds “optimistic”… Does nobody have faith in her these days?
Sharon says it’s not about lack of faith; it’s about the legal system, which can be very unpredictable. She says Phyllis has support, no matter the outcome.
Phyllis asks if anyone believes she can beat the charges.
Sharon says everyone’s pulling for Phyllis; they can only hope for the best. She says that Phyllis has a history of getting involved in uncomfortable situations. She figures Phyllis has something up her sleeves.
Phyllis smirks and says she always has something up her sleeve.
Sharon sits down with Phyllis and says it’s time she finally faces her actions’ consequences.
Phyllis says Sharon’s being all judgy with her comments.
Sharon says taking responsibility goes against every fiber of Phyllis’s being. She’s in conflict with herself.
Phyllis says that Sharon’s stuck between Nick and Adam… Again.
Sharon tells Phyllis she has something serious with Adam and Nick, and they won’t let Phyllis disrupt it. If Phyllis wants to be part of it, she needs to beat the charges against and play by the rules.
Adam walks up and asks what’s going on.
Phyllis says that she and Sharon were discussing the importance of playing by the rules.
Adam says they all have their pasts and their mistakes… They can make this work.
Phyllis says it’s going great so far. She has a bit of a glaring match with Sharon.
The Chancellor Mansion
Abby comes home and kisses Devon.
Devon asks how Abby’s talk with Ashley went.
Abby says Ashley is determined to make peace with Jack, and Abby is almost ready to trust Ashley’s intentions.
Devon asks how she feels about that.
Abby says she’s cautiously optimistic.
Devon hopes that Ashley will put the vendetta behind her.
Abby says that Jack has to put aside his anger for Tucker, and Abby will do whatever it takes to make sure the wedding doesn’t go down in flames.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley tells Tucker that she was able to smooth things over with Abby without lying too much.
Tucker hopes they can trust Billy, but he’s glad Ashley feels confident.
Ashley says she can convince Billy that it’s good to get involved with her and Tucker. They all want the same thing… To protect Jabot.
Tucker says they can’t trust Phyllis anymore. She’s become more of a liability than an asset.
Ashley asks what he means.
Tucker says it’s nothing to worry about… It’s nothing he can’t handle. He hugs Ashley.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Audra tells Adam that it’s as much in his interest to keep the scandal buried as it is for her and Tucker.
Heather tells Daniel that Phyllis is her client and it’s her job to protect her.
Daniel wonders if she’ll do that even if it means Summer takes the blame.
Tucker and Ashley ask Billy if they can cash him in.
Billy asks what’s in it for him.
