Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Phyllis recruited Adam to help take Tucker down, Lily inspired Daniel, and Chance reassured Summer.
Crimson Lights
Chance enters the coffee shop and sees Sharon there.
Sharon asks Chance what he’s carrying in the large wicker basket he is carrying.
Chance says seeing Sharon is the best part of his day, and he’d love to picnic with her.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane is lying in bed while Jack is up and dressed, ready to start his day.
Diane asks Jack if she was dreaming… Did they really get married?
Jack says it’s not a dream… They’re husband and wife! He calls her Mrs. Abbott.
Diane says she still can’t believe it. She says they can have a celebration later, and she’s glad they didn’t wait any longer to make it official.
Jack sits down on the bed with Diane and says he wants to spend a little more time with her before going out and facing the world.
Diane says they’ll be together forever now. They kiss.
Tucker and Ashley’s GCAC Suite
Ashley and Tucker get dressed.
Ashley says she’s glad they decided to spend the night at the Athletic Club… She’s sick of the Jack & Diane show.
She says she had a realization. She’s done trying to protect Jack, he’s gone too far.
Tucker laughs and pretends to pray thankfully. He gives Ashley a hug.
Crimson Lights
Sharon says she’d love to have a breakfast picnic with Chance, but she’s got a meeting with Adam… He’s waiting for her.
Chance says he knew he was taking a chance by asking her this early.
Sharon suggests they do lunch instead.
Chance says he’ll take what he can get.
Sharon says she’ll be in touch later and gives him a passionate kiss.
Chance very much enjoyed that. He wishes her good luck as she leaves.
The Abbott Mansion
Billy congratulates Diane and Jack on their wedding.
Diane says they couldn’t be happier.
Billy says he hates interrupting their first morning as a married couple, but they have to talk about corporate espionage.
Jack says they have a lifetime of happiness in front of them. He asks what Billy has to tell them.
Billy says he made some progress with Ashley… He says that Ashley is convinced that Billy’s angry with Jack for rushing into his marriage.
Jack says it wouldn’t have mattered when they got married; Ashley would still think it was rushed.
Billy says they need to keep up the facade to ensure that Tucker and Ashley still believe Billy and Jack are feuding. Billy thinks they need to kick the feud up a notch to make it even more believable.
Jack says they’ll do whatever it takes to get Billy into Ashley and Tucker’s inner circle.
Diane says that she and Jack appreciate what Billy’s doing to protect Jabot.
Billy says he’s just happy to be able to wipe the smirk from Tucker’s face.
The Chancellor Estate Mansion
Devon puts down his tablet that he was working on and gets up, looking around the room as he reminisces.
He sees a portrait of Katherine Chancellor and thinks back to when he and Katherine talked about Tucker, who was trying to get him to leave Jabot at the time.
Devon had told Katherine that he had rejected Tucker’s offer to work with him and that he’d told Tucker that he couldn’t buy his affection by creating a job for Devon.
Katherine had told Devon that she understood why he questioned Tucker’s motivation.
Devon told Katherine that Tucker wanted Devon to be happy, but Devon had problems believing Tucker, who was known to lie. He asks why Katherine had given Tucker a chance.
Katherine had answered that she believed that Tucker was sincere in making amends.
Devon asked Katherine why she believed Tucker was sincere.
Katherine had answered that she didn’t know if Tucker was sincere, but she wanted to believe that he could change. She says that the only way they could ever know about Tucker is if they gave him a chance to prove himself.
Devon said that Tucker could burn them again too.
Katherine told Devon that whether he liked it or not, Tucker is family, and you always back up your family, no matter how much they disappoint you.
Tucker and Ashley’s GCAC Suite
Tucker asks Ashley if they will work on their own business since she’s decided to let Jack and Diane implode on their own.
Ashley says they will just sit back and watch as Diane does her worst at Jabot.
Tucker says he’s heard that somewhere before.
Ashley laughs and says Tucker was right.
Tucker pretends not to have heard and has Ashley repeat it.
Ashley explains that Diane will make a mess of things, then she and Tucker will swoop in and scoop up Jabot’s best assets and fold them into their company, and they’ll save Jabot in the process.
Tucker says they won’t be able to save Jack… He says that they’ll save Jabot by letting Diane blow things up. He says he wants to stay in the room all day with Ashley and make plans… And make love.
Ashley says they have too much work to do.
Jabot Cosmetics
Diane tells Jack that replacing Mariah is going to be tough.
Jack says they have some strong resumes that look promising.
Diane says that Mariah knew the brand so well… First they lost Kyle, and now they’ve lost Mariah.
Summer knocks on the door and enters the office. She wishes Jack and Diane congratulations on their marriage.
Jack says it was a small civil ceremony, but they’d love to have her celebrate their marriage with them in the fall. He asks how Summer is doing.
Summer says she’s hanging in there… She’s brought Chelsea on as the creative director of Marchetti.
Jack says he heard about that and thinks it’s a great hire. He says that Chelsea had great ideas in the past with her “Chelsea by Jabot” designs and can’t wait to see what Summer and Chelsea will achieve together.
Summer says she was at the house visiting Harrison and heard that Kyle is on a trip… What’s that about?
Diane says she’s surprised Kyle didn’t mention anything. He’s in New York on business.
Summer figures he’s with Audra… What a surprise.
Jack says Audra is Kyle’s boss at Newman Media, so it can’t be that much of a surprise.
Summer says Audra’s more than just Kyle’s boss.
Diane asks what Summer means by that.
Summer says Kyle and Audra are sleeping together.
Jack tells Summer she can’t just assume that Kyle and Audra have taken it that far.
Summer says that Kyle told her he and Audra had slept together. She says Kyle ditched Jabot and Summer; now he has everything he wants.
Summer has to talk to HR about announcing Chelsea’s hiring and says she’ll catch up with Jack and Diane later. She leaves the office.
Chancellor Park
Billy walks through the park and sits down on a bench.
He thinks about making plans with Jack and Diane to infiltrate Tucker and Ashley’s inner circle and how he said he only cared about protecting Jabot’s legacy.
Jack had said their father would be proud of Billy for protecting his legacy, and Billy said he was only doing what was necessary to ensure that things weren’t getting out of hand.
Billy gets up from the park bench and calls the GCAC. He asks if his sister, Ashley, is there and is told that Ashley is in the dining room.
Billy finishes the call, saying he’ll be right over.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Tucker asks Ashley what she thinks of Billy’s “disillusionment” with Jack. He wonders if Billy will be useful to them.
Ashley says she’s not sure what to think. She says Billy and Jack have fought over many things through the years. She wonders if they should lead Billy along and see where it goes.
Tucker isn’t sure if they’ll be able to lead Billy along or whether he’s the type of person to only look out for himself.
Ashley says it’d be great if they could win Billy over to their cause.
At that moment, Billy wanders into the restaurant, and Ashley beckons him to join them.
Crimson Lights
Chance gets a coffee from the counter and prepares to sit down at a table.
Summer walks into the cafe and smiles when she sees Chance, saying they’re meeting again.
Summer sees the picnic basket on the table and says it seems elaborate for one person.
Chance says it was supposed to be for two people, but that didn’t work out. He wonders if Summer is hungry.
Summer says she doesn’t have much appetite but could sit with him while he eats.
Chance asks if she’s free now.
Summer says a meeting was just canceled, so she has some free time.
Chance tells her to grab a coffee and come with him.
Summer likes that idea.

Chancellor Park
Summer and Chance sit in the park on a blanket with the picnic basket open.
Summer tells Chance that Kyle and Audra are on a trip together.
Chance says that sounds like normal Newman business.
Summer says Chance is just being nice, but they both know Kyle is sleeping with Audra. She says the trip hit her hard, and she can’t pretend it’s a casual thing between Kyle and Audra now.
Summer asks why she can’t get over it and wonders when she will feel better about things.
Chance doesn’t think that grief has a timetable. She’s grieving her marriage and what she thought her life would be like with Kyle.
Chance says he had to grieve an imagined future with Abby before he could get over things… Summer will get there too, but there’s no timeline; it’ll happen at its own pace.
Summer says she’s lost Kyle in the past, but it feels different this time. She thinks she needs closure.
Chance says he doesn’t think closure is a thing… When she sees Kyle, emotions may come back, which will be hard on her. He asks what Summer would do if Kyle showed up and tells her he forgave her.
Summer isn’t sure… She doesn’t think they could return to where they were; too much has changed.
Jabot Cosmetics
Diane asks Jack what Kyle is thinking by taking up with Audra. He must know that he’s causing problems with Summer.
Jack says he doesn’t think that Kyle is doing much thinking these days.
Diane asks if Jack is worried about Kyle.
Jack says he’s worried, but even if Kyle forgives Summer, he’s not sure they could get back together. He thinks that Kyle is running from the pain by sleeping with Audra.
Diane says they’re worried about Kyle, and they have to watch their backs with Ashley… What a way to start a marriage!
Jack says the marriage is the one thing that’s going right, giving him hope they can solve anything.
They kiss.
The GCAC
Billy asks Ashley why she and Tucker are at the GCAC… Weren’t they in the mood for Mrs. Martinez’s breakfast?
Ashley says they needed a break from the newlyweds.
Tucker excuses himself; he’s got a meeting with Dominic.
Billy sits down with Ashley and says he tried to avoid Jack and Diane and figured he’d come to the GCAC to get a workout and shake off the stress.
Ashley says she’s at her wit’s end. Something has to be done, and it has to happen fast.
Billy asks if Ashley is still planning to take legal action and get her assets out of Jabot.
Ashley says she is. She says Diane will be gunning for Billy’s job.
Billy says he’s thought about that… Why go for Chief Talent Officer when you can get the co-CEO position?
Ashley says “Queen Diane” will rule over their family home and business.
Billy asks if Ashley thinks they can talk some sense into Jack.
Ashley says that’s probably not even possible. She says the company is in a precarious position, and Jabot will fail unless Jack opens his eyes.
Billy says he hates what Jack is doing and is not a fan of Diane, but he’s not about to give up on Jabot. He asks Ashley if she has a plan.
Ashley says she has an idea but is unsure how Billy will feel about it. She says that Billy is still at Jabot and has the inside track… How far is he willing to go to protect what’s theirs?
Chancellor Park
Chance tells Summer that she’s starting to accept that she won’t be reconciling with Kyle.
Chance sees a bird, an American Goldfinch, and points it out to Summer. He says it’s black and yellow; that’s how to tell it’s a male.
Summer asks how Chance knows about birds.
Chance says he was in Boy Scouts and knows a few things.
Summer laughs and says everyone calls him a boy scout, but he really was one.
Chance says he was… His mom wanted him to try “normal” things in life, as she didn’t have a good upbringing.
Summer says she and Phyllis were in a mother-daughter scout-type organization called “The Sunflower Girls”, and they made beaded jewelry and smores. It didn’t last long because it wasn’t very “Phyllis-like”.
Sharon walks into the park, and Chance jumps up, saying he thought Sharon had a meeting.
Sharon says she felt bad about turning him down, so she pushed back the meeting with Adam, but she sees that Summer has taken her place.
The Chancellor Estate Mansion
Tucker tells Devon that Dominic gets cuter by the day.
Devon says Dominic could be the cutest ring-bearer the town has ever seen.
Tucker laughs. He says he’s really happy that Devon has accepted his offer to be his best man.
Devon says that he’s happy he and Abby can help, even though Abby isn’t very happy with her mom right now.
Tucker thinks it’s ironic that Abby’s angrier with Ashley than with Tucker… Who would have seen this coming?
Devon says it seems that Ashley is willing to destroy Jabot because of Diane and doesn’t seem to care who she hurts.
Tucker says it’s not true; Ashley is concerned that Jack and Diane will do irreparable harm to the company and to themselves, so Tucker has tried to convince Ashley to concentrate on their wedding and their new company instead of focusing on Diane.
Devon says it’s crazy that Tucker is the logical and clear-headed one in the relationship.
Tucker laughs. He says that Ashley won’t admit it, but he thinks the feud with Jack is breaking Ashley’s heart, and he’ll do anything he can to spare Ashley any more pain.
The GCAC
Ashley tells Billy he’s in the perfect position to expose Diane; she can’t be trusted. Ashley says it’s a matter of time before Diane shows everyone her true colors, and everyone will see how she’s hurting the company.
Billy asks if Ashley wants him to push Diane’s buttons.
Ashley says she does want him to push Diane’s buttons in ways that Ashley has never been able to. She says Billy can fix everything.
Chancellor Park
Summer tells Sharon she’s going to leave since Chance made the picnic for Sharon to begin with, and Sharon should enjoy it with him.
Sharon says Summer should stay… There’s enough food for all of them.
Summer says she has to get to work. She thanks Chance for the talk and leaves the park.
Sharon asks Chance how Summer’s doing.
Chance says the end of a marriage can be difficult. Summer’s strong, and she’ll be alright.
He invites Sharon to sit and starts looking through the basket, showing Sharon what they have to eat.
Summer watches them for a minute before leaving.
The Chancellor Estate Mansion
Devon tells Tucker that he and Abby thought that Tucker was pushing Ashley to go to war with Jack, but they’ve both realized it was Ashley all along.
Tucker says he understands why they’d think that, but Abby has nothing to worry about with Ashley. He says that Ashley doesn’t trust Diane, and neither does he.
Tucker goes on to say that Ashley wants to save Jack and preserve the legacy of Jabot.
Devon says that Ashley needs to make that clear to Abby.
Tucker says he’ll do what he can… Abby and Ashley shouldn’t be at odds with one another.
The GCAC
Ashley tells Billy she didn’t handle things well… She was angry and let her resentment get the best of her, but even after their fight last night, Billy is still on better terms with Jack and Diane than Ashley is.
Billy says Ashley is asking him to spy on Diane and bring out her “dark side”.
Ashley says she’s not asking him to spy.
Ashley wants Billy to give Diane a gentle nudge or two until Diane shows her true agenda, at which point they’ll move in and acquire Jabot, and they will save their father’s company.
Billy says he understands preserving the family legacy, but he will have to think about what Ashley is asking him to do.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack asks Diane if she’s feeling any better.
Diane says she’s feeling better about finding a new Director of Marketing but not about Kyle making a mess of his life.
Summer walks in and says she figured they’d like to see the press release announcing Chelsea’s hiring. She hands Jack a file, which he flips through.
Jack says it looks great. He asks if Summer’s alright.
Summer says she’s not, but she will be.
Diane asks Summer to let her know if they can do anything.
Summer says she’s starting to accept that things are over between her and Kyle. She says if Kyle can move on, so can she. She leaves the office.
Chancellor Park
Sharon tells Chance she’s happy he can be a friend for Summer.
Chance says he can relate to what Summer is going through… But enough about Summer; he wants to focus on Sharon. He’s happy she was able to join him for a picnic.
Sharon says seeing Chance is the best part of her day, and she can’t let business get in the way of what matters most.
Chance feeds her a blueberry, and they kiss.
The GCAC
Tucker comes back to the table and sits down with Ashley. He says he had a nice visit with Devon and Dominic.
Ashley asks if he had fun.
Tucker laughs and says he did… Dominic’s got one heck of a playroom! He asks Ashley what Billy had to say.
Ashley says that Billy didn’t agree to help them, but she thinks he’s leaning that way. She says they could save Jabot and Jack with Billy’s help.
Tucker says he’s most interested in what they’re creating together. He says they have some urgent matters to discuss.
Ashley asks what he means.
Tucker says Ashley has to work on making things right with Abby.
Ashley thinks things are pretty good with Abby right now… What’s Tucker talking about?
Tucker says that their plans could come between Ashley and her daughter, and that they need to prevent that from happening.
Jabot Cosmetics
Billy walks into the boardroom and tells Jack and Diane he has some news. He closes the door behind him.
Billy says that Ashley asked him to join “her version” of their plan… She wants Billy to be a Trojan Horse at Jabot.
Jack shakes his head in frustration.
Billy says that Ashley’s “master plan” is to allow Diane to damage Jabot.
Jack asks how Ashley thinks that Diane will damage the company.
Billy says that Diane’s ambitions and bad decisions are what Ashley’s counting on to sink the company.
Billy goes on to say Ashley and Tucker want Billy to let Diane ruin the company , and then they’ll swoop in with their company named “Simply Ashley” and take the assets and employees and swallow Jabot.
Diane says it’s all about her; Ashley has hated her for years. She tells Jack not to get angry since Ashley trusts Billy… They need to figure out how to use that to their advantage.
