Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Adam made a pledge to Nick & Sharon as Phyllis sought a favor; Tessa asked Mariah to consider Sharon’s offer.
The Chancellor Estate
Abby tells Ashley that she has to let it go… Jack and Diane are married, and there’s nothing Ashley can do about it.
Ashley says it doesn’t matter… She plans to do something about it. She says that Jack and Diane’s decision to get married was a bullet aimed directly at her.
Abby doesn’t agree. She says they were engaged for a long time, and it has nothing to do with Ashley.
Ashley says Jack and Diane are trying to make a point… But she won’t be shot down so easily.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Lily calls Daniel and says she has a surprise for him… He should hurry up.
Daniel blinks in surprise and runs up the stairs to Lily’s suite.
Crimson Lights
Chance says hello to Summer as he walks into the coffee shop. He says they seem to keep meeting a lot lately.
Summer smiles and says it’s been a long day, she needs a coffee.
Chance says he can tell she’s had a long day and is happy to listen if she wants to talk.
Summer says she doesn’t want to talk.
Chance laughs and says maybe she doesn’t want to talk to a cop, but how about talking with him as a friend?
Summer says it’s the same thing with Chance.
Adam’s Apartment
Phyllis shows up at Adam’s door and presents him with a cactus as a housewarming gift.
Adam invites Phyllis in. He wonders why she’s there… She already has the job.
Phyllis says the housewarming gift is a symbol of their future collaboration… It’s prickly and never dies, just like Adam. She says it also represents his bitter resentment toward certain family members… Like Nick.
Phyllis wonders how Nick reacted to the news that Phyllis would be working with him.
Adam says that Nick and Sharon weren’t happy that Adam offered Phyllis a job, but they came around after some discussion.
Adam told Sharon and Nick that Phyllis needed to turn her life around for Summer and Daniel, which seemed to change Nick’s mind since he wants Phyllis to be there for her children.
Phyllis thanks Adam and tells him she wants things to work out with this job… She wants as little chaos and drama as possible.
Adam laughs and says there’s a lot of conflict in their pasts, so he can’t guarantee anything.
He says that Phyllis had conditions for taking the job… What is the real reason Phyllis is there?
Phyllis says she needs Adam to find something to take Tucker McCall down.
The Chancellor Estate
Abby asks Ashley when the war will end.
Ashley tells Ashley the war will be over when she wins.
Abby figures the war will never be over.
Devon says they went through a similar situation with their family.
Tucker says that’s not a fair comparison… Jack is willfully trying to disrupt the family business.
Abby asks why Ashley walked away from Jabot if she really cares for the business so much.
Ashley says she couldn’t watch Diane destroy the business.
Abby tells Ashley that she needs to stay at Jabot and fight from the inside.
Daniel’s GCAC Suite
Daniel opens the door to his suite with a keycard and sees that Lily has set up some easels alongside some art supplies.
She shows him a fruit bowl and says he should sketch a still life.
Crimson Lights
Summer says she’d love to talk, but…
Chance finishes Summer’s sentence for her. “But your mother is on trial for murder.” Chance says that Summer had talked with him before, and it never went anywhere.
Summer says she’s going to sit it out. She has a seat at a table.
Chance follows her and says he’ll make a deal… If it doesn’t involve future crimes, Chance will listen to her and be there for her as a friend.
Chance places his police badge on the table and says Summer can trust him… She has his word.
Summer says she thinks Phyllis isn’t being completely honest but doesn’t know what she’s hiding.
Chance asks if she’s tried talking to her.
Summer says she has, but Phyllis doesn’t want to share. Summer is worried that Christine will look at her as an accessory too, and she’ll end up going to prison.
Daniel’s GCAC Suite
Daniel thinks that drawing a still life is an odd idea… He doesn’t see how drawing a fruit bowl will ease his mind.
Lily says it could be a good distraction.
Daniel says the fruit bowl isn’t “speaking” to him.
Lily suggests flowers, but Daniel declines.
Lily says that she has another idea… She’ll be back.
The Chancellor Estate
Ashley tells Abby she can’t believe that Abby is starting to trust Diane.
Abby says she doesn’t want to have to pick sides between her mother and her uncle Jack.
Devon interrupts, saying they should focus on something more positive… And since Tucker and Ashley’s wedding is coming up, they should focus on that!
Ashley and Tucker agree.
Crimson Lights
Chance says he can convince Christine to leave Summer alone.
Summer asks how.
Chance says that Summer’s been through enough since the gala, and that he can convince Christine that what Summer had done was under extreme duress.
He doesn’t think that Christine has a strong case against Summer anyhow.
Summer asks why not.
Chance says that Christine doesn’t have any real evidence against Summer.
Summer thinks Kyle might testify against her.
Chance says he can convince Christine that Kyle has his own agenda and that he’s mad about what Diane went through.
Summer wishes Chance was with the D.A.’s office. She thanks him for his help, saying that Kyle could go to any lengths to make her pay, and she’d deserve it.
Chance says he’s been around many people in a conflict, and they’ve acted impulsively. He says they could argue she was trying to protect her mother.

Adam’s Apartment
Adam tells Phyllis she’s in a class of her own when laying waste to enemies, but he’d advise against it since she’s facing serious charges.
Phyllis protests that she’s innocent.
Adam says that’s even more reason to act like a model citizen until the trial ends.
Phyllis says it’s not just about vengeance on Tucker; it’s a necessity.
Adam asks why.
Phyllis says it just is.
Adam says that Tucker must have something that Phyllis wants… What is it?
Phyllis asks him to trust her on this without asking any questions.
Adam says that he can’t do that. He says Victor is watching him, Nick, and Sharon very closely, and he needs the company to work, so he can’t get involved in anything shady with their Chief Technical Officer.
Phyllis says that it’s unexpected and disappointing… Since when did Adam march to his family’s tune?
Phyllis says that Adam stirred the family pot even when he was on good terms with them.
Adam says people can change… He’s not the one with the problem. He says that Phyllis asking him to trust her is pushing the limits.
Phyllis asks him what he wants.
Adam says she needs to tell him why she needs to take down Tucker McCall, what Tucker has on her, and why it needs to happen right now.
The Chancellor Estate
Abby shows Ashley a wedding planning album and asks if they can review it together.
Ashley says of course they can. She heads off with Abby to go over the plans.
Tucker thanks Devon for changing the subject… The Jack & Diane thing has them both in the dumps. It’s nice to have Ashley focus on something positive for once.
Devon says he’s happy to help.
Tucker promises their wedding will be a “war-free zone”, and he thanks Devon for allowing them to have the wedding there.
Devon says it will always be Katherine’s house, no matter who lives there. It’s their family home, and Tucker belongs there too.
Tucker tells Devon he has a big favor to ask… Would Devon be his best man?
Crimson Lights
Summer wants to believe that what she did for her mom could be forgiven. She says Kyle crossed a line by sleeping with Audra… Does that mean that he should be forgiven too?
Chance says he’s not the right guy to ask for advice about a person’s spouse cheating on them.
Summer apologizes… She wasn’t thinking about him and Abby.
Chance says his marriage was dying, he didn’t know it then, but he knows it now. He knows how Summer’s feeling; he’s been there.
Summer says she thought she and Kyle were meant to go the distance and they’d overcome many obstacles in their relationship, but maybe it’s time to admit they can’t fix it this time.
Summer asks how Chance forgave and accepted what happened between him and Abby.
Chance says that time, distance, and work helped him through it, and he couldn’t have done it without family and friends to talk to.
Daniel’s GCAC Suite
Daniel takes a bit of an apple as Lily walks into the room in a silk robe.
Lily drops her robe to the floor and says that since the fruit bowl didn’t inspire him, he can draw her instead.
Daniel puts down his apple and stands up. He says he’s not sure he could do her justice.
Lily smiles and says he can try, and when he’s done, she can draw him.
Crimson Lights
Summer tells Chance he’s very wise.
Chance laughs and says Summer’s making fun of him.
Summer says she’s not making fun… She wishes she had his sense of clarity about things. Summer says her mom is panicking and isn’t very good at hiding it.
Chance says Phyllis is in a tough spot right now.
Summer says she loves Phyllis and is glad her mom is home. She thought that when Phyllis returned, Kyle and Summer could have a chance to heal, but that never happened.
Chance says she has to take it one day at a time, but she’ll get there.
Summer says she feels like she can’t focus on anything right now.
Chance tells Summer that she needs to let Phyllis focus on her life, and Summer should focus on her own.
Adam’s Apartment
Phyllis tells Adam that he should know why she’s reluctant to give him personal information… He’ll hold it over her head.
Adam says knowledge is power. He tells her to find someone else to help her “dismantle” Tucker. He says she has the resources she needs on her own.
Phyllis says she has to keep her hands clean.
Adam says Phyllis is asking for someone to do the dirty work for her… Which makes things a lot less appealing for him.
Phyllis says that he wouldn’t even need to get his hands dirty… She just needs to find some dirt on Tucker. She says that Adam owns McCall Unlimited; he must be able to find something out.
Adam says he did a deep dive on the company, but not much there would help Phyllis.
Phyllis says she’s not trying to destroy Tucker, but she needs the means to do it.
Adam says that can only mean one thing… Tucker is holding a life-or-death situation over Phyllis’s head.
The Chancellor Estate
Abby and Ashley talk about the wedding catering and how many guests there are.
Ashley says she doesn’t know how many people will be coming, but they want a small wedding.
Abby asks for more details. She asks if they have a date yet.
Ashley says they don’t have a date set.
Abby says that they should start there.
Ashley seems distracted, and Abby sighs and closes the wedding planning book.
Abby asks if Ashley even cares about the wedding.
Ashley asks what kind of question that is… Of course she does!
Abby says that she’s getting the feeling that Ashley marrying Tucker is the same thing that Ashley is accusing Jack of… A way to get back at her enemies.
Tucker says he knows it’s a big ask, but he’d love to have Devon beside him as his best man.
Devon says he has an answer for him.
Daniel’s GCAC Suite
Daniel sketches as Lily poses for him.
She comes over and tells him it’s nice… He has potential.
Daniel says she was a perfect subject.
Lily says it’s her turn to sketch… Does he want to take his clothes off, or should she?
Daniel says she should take them off.
Lily thinks that’s a good choice. She takes off his shirt, and they kiss.
Lily says she’s got to draw him before anything else. She grabs the sketch pad and starts drawing.
She shows him a stickman figure on a bed and asks him what he thinks.
Daniel says he thinks it’s a drawing worthy of a prize. They kiss and fall into bed together.
Adam’s Apartment
Phyllis tells Adam she’s going to make him a deal.
Adam thinks this ought to be interesting.
Phyllis says she’ll work for Adam for free for six months, and then her rate kicks in.
Adam thought Phyllis was desperate for the money.
Phyllis says she’s desperate to stay out of prison.
Adam says he thinks he figured out the connection between Phyllis and Tucker… It’s Carson. Adam thinks Tucker paid Carson off and is holding his testimony over Phyllis’s head.
Phyllis asks what if that was the case?
Adam says that if that’s the case, it changes everything.
The Chancellor Estate
Abby asks if the wedding is just another way for Ashley to get under Jack’s skin.
Ashley says it’s not and asks Abby not to compare her wedding to Jack and Diane’s “sham of a marriage.”
Abby thinks that Diane and Jack are really in love, and she doubts that Jack and Diane are plotting ways to bring Ashley down.
Ashley tells her that she wouldn’t bet on it.
Abby says she offered to have the wedding there, but if it’s just a way for Ashley to get back at Jack, then she can take the wedding somewhere else.
Devon tells Tucker that he’d be honored to be his Best Man.
Tucker tells Devon it means the world to him.
Devon says he believes that Tucker has changed and that his love for Ashley is real.
Tucker says he was so nervous to ask Devon.
Devon laughs and says he can’t believe that Tucker gets nervous.
Tucker says having him as his best man is a big step forward for them.
Devon hugs Tucker as Abby and Ashley watch.
Abby gets up, miffed at Ashley. She starts cleaning up.
Tucker and Ashley prepare to leave.
Tucker thanks Devon for having them there.
Ashley tells Abby she’ll call her tomorrow.
Abby says, “Sure.” She doesn’t turn around from cleaning up.
Ashley goes over and hugs Abby before she and Tucker leave the house.
Devon says that things were a little chilly between Abby and Ashley.
Abby says she’s angry with her mom… She says her instincts were wrong about Tucker… He’s not pushing the feud between her mom and her uncle; it’s all Ashley.
Crimson Lights
Summer tells Chance she has to set strong boundaries with her mom if she wants to live a sane, normal life, but it won’t be easy.
Chance says that Phyllis is her mother, and she has to live with her. He has no doubt she’ll figure it out.
Summer thanks Chance… She needed to get that out.
Chance laughs and says anytime. He says she never even said anything that could be considered a future crime.
Summer makes sure that their conversation was friend-to-friend, not friend-to-cop.
Chance smiles and said it was friend-to-friend.
Daniel’s GCAC Suite
Lily and Daniel lie in bed snuggling.
Daniel says he wants to draw her as she is, in bed.
He gets his sketchpad and starts drawing.
Adam’s Apartment
Adam tells Phyllis that Tucker has her freedom in his hands.
Phyllis confirms it. She says if she went to prison, it’d be bad for Adam because she wouldn’t be able to work for him, and he knows there’s no one better.
Adam laughs and says he’s always admired her ability to play poker even though she has been dealt a lousy hand.
Phyllis asks if Adam will help her.
Adam says he’ll have to think about it.
Phyllis asks him not to think too long. She leaves his apartment.
