Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Friday, October 27, 2023, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Adam admitted to lying about his “redemption,” and Nick exposed Victor’s plot to Victoria.
Society
Victoria is incredulous. She asks Nick if Victor really thinks one of his kids would try to steal Newman Enterprises from him… He’s being too cruel!
Nick says that Victor faked his own death to catch Adam before… It’s no surprise that he’d do this.
Victoria was really worried about her father; afraid they might lose him. She asks how Nick found out that Victor was faking his mental decline.
Nick says it doesn’t matter.
Victoria figures out that Victor must have told him, which means that Nick is the only one in the family that their father trusts.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally is sleeping on her sofa, passed out in front of sketches she’s been working on. She dreams about Adam and Nick fighting over her.
In her dream, Adam taunts Nick that Sally loves him and not Nick.
Nick throws Adam over the sofa out of anger. He tells Sally that Adam is taking everything away that he cares about.
Adam tells Nick that he’s not important to Sally, not to him, and not to anyone.
Nick throws a punch that lands squarely on Adam’s jaw.
Adam gets up and punches Nick in the stomach. They roll around fighting.
Sally tells them to stop.
Nick tells her that she’s the only one who can stop it… It’s time for Sally to choose… Nick or Adam!
Sally wakes up. “I don’t know… I don’t know!”
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Adam sits at the bar and thinks back to his conversation with Sally, where he’d told her he would arrange a meeting between his father and a psychiatrist.
Dr. Skelton walks into the lounge, and Adam gets up and shakes his hand, apologizing for the late hour.
Skelton says that he saw his last patient an hour ago… It’s not too late for him.
Adam tells him he comes highly recommended.
Skelton thanks him and asks what he can do for Adam.
Adam says he needs to make sure things stay between them.
Skelton assures him that professional conversations are held in strict confidence. Is this meeting about his father?
Adam says it is, and his father is Victor Newman.
Skelton says he’s heard of him.
Adam explains that his father is stubborn and is usually the smartest person in the room.
Skelton says Victor’s reputation precedes him. He’d read his unauthorized biography, Ruthless. He asks how he can help Adam.
Adam tells Skelton that his father seems to be exhibiting signs of dementia.
The Newman Ranch House
Nikki asks what Victor thinks Nick will do now that he knows there’s nothing wrong with him.
Victor figures Nick will go straight to Victoria and tell her everything.
Nikki says Victoria will be very upset when she hears about it.
Victor says that is why Victoria can’t learn about it.
Nikki says that ship has sailed.
Victor says Victoria would eventually understand why he did it… And who cares if she doesn’t? It won’t interfere with his plan!
Nikki calls his scheme a “wretched plan.” She asks what the next step in Victor’s plan is.
Victor’s phone rings. He answers and tells the caller to send in his visitor. He hangs up.
Nate walks in and says hello to the two of them.
Victor asks Nikki to give them some time alone to talk.
Nikki asks if he’s sure, and Victor says he is. Nikki leaves the room, looking unimpressed.
Nate says he got there as soon as he could… What’s going on? Victor’s call sounded a bit ominous.
Victor asks how his call was ominous.
Nate says Victor told him he might be the only person he could trust.
Victor says, “Ohhhh yeah, yeah, yeah… That is what I told you!” He nods, looking a bit out of touch. He says it’s difficult to trust people who think he’s losing his marbles and can’t run a business anymore.
Nate asks who is accusing Victor of that.
Victor says his children are… His flesh and blood!
Nate says they love him and have normal concern for their father.
Victor asks if Victoria has said anything to Nate in private.
Nate looks uncomfortable.
Victor looks him dead in the eye and points at him. “I need to know what she’s told you.”
Society
Nick tells Victoria that their father didn’t come right out and tell him… There was a clue in his desk drawer. Adam found the drawing and showed it to Nick, which allowed him to figure it out. Nick confronted their dad, and Victor came clean.
Victoria asks Nick what the drawing was.
Nick says it wouldn’t mean anything to Victoria, but the drawing tied into one of his favorite childhood books. The book was called The Serpent of Names.
Victoria doesn’t remember the book.
Nick nods. She wouldn’t. At first, Nick thought it was a cry for help, but then he realized it was meant for him. Victor wanted Nick to figure it out so he could recruit him as an ally.
Victoria says she was right. Nick is the only one Victor trusts.
Nick figures it’s because he doesn’t have any stake in the power struggle at Newman. Victoria, Adam, and Nate are in the middle of it.
Victoria asks if Victor knows Nick is telling her about it.
Nick says he told their dad that he would tell Victoria. Nikki also urged Nick and Victor to come clean to Victoria so she wouldn’t agonize over an imaginary mental condition.
Victoria is shocked… Nikki knows about this? Victoria is angry that their mom has kept it from her and asks how long she’s been in on it.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Dr. Skelton tells Adam he’s happy to help, but he can’t make any diagnosis without a face-to-face meeting with Victor.
Adam says he wouldn’t expect a diagnosis, but he hoped Skelton could help guide him in the right direction.
Skelton says it’s fine. This will be an informal talk, not a diagnostic in any way.
Adam agrees. He explains that some of the information is second-hand from his brother and sister. He tells Skelton about Victor’s memory problems, including when Victor called him Nicholas. He mentions that Victor had forgotten who runs Newman Media.
Adam continues to explain how his father denied making a mistake, got defensive, and flew into a rage. He fired him, and then a few minutes later, was happy and told him he’d see him at the office in the morning.
Skelton nods, listening.
Adam says Victor brought up the baby that he and “his former girlfriend” were expecting, forgetting that they’d lost the baby weeks ago. He says there are other examples, but they all started when Victor returned as Newman Enterprises’s CEO.
Skelton says it must be difficult for Victor’s family, but there’s a fine line between signs of dementia and common age-related memory problems. It’s hard to tell the difference between them without thorough tests.
Adam says it must be risky for a person to run a multibillion-dollar corporation who has to handle stress and make rapid-fire decisions.
Skelton says stress can be a factor in causing these symptoms, but other things can factor in as well, including infections, sleep apnea, and depression. If it is one of them, it can be treated and often reversed. If it’s something like Alzheimer’s, though, the progression can only be slowed.
Adam nods. He asks what they should do next.
Skelton says he’d need to examine his father’s medical records and run some tests.
Adam asks how they can do it if Victor’s not willing.
Skelton says they can’t… Victor would have to be convinced to go along with it. He says Victor’s situation could worsen if it goes undiagnosed or is improperly handled.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally is flustered after her dream. She takes her sketchpad over to the table and sits down.
Sally flashes back to when she was in a relationship with Adam, and he’d told her that he’d always be grateful for her. She had said she wanted to make it easy for him to show her daily.
She recalls Nick telling her he had fallen in love with her. She hadn’t been able to say it back.
Sally gets up and leaves her room.
Society
Nick tells Victoria he doesn’t know how long Nikki has known, but keeping Victor’s secret has been eating away at her.
Victoria says it’s cruel of their father to put Nikki in that situation. She’s incredulous that Victor would even think that Victoria would try to use his diminished capacity to get her job back… That’s something that Adam would do!
Nick says he tried to tell Victor that, too, but their dad is convinced someone will betray him… Look at how everyone reacted when he returned to the company.
Victoria says nobody expected Victor to come back; he just dropped that news on everyone out of the blue.
Nick says he’s not sure that their dad is wrong. It wouldn’t surprise him if there were a threat inside Newman.
Victoria says the threat is obviously Adam, but their father won’t admit that… He has to suspect everybody else, including her!
Nick says Nate’s not excluded from Victor’s suspicion.
Victoria says she’s not even going there with Nick.
Nick says it’s possible that Victor has reason to be concerned, and they should give him a chance.
Victoria asks if Nick wants to play along with their dad’s plan and help them smoke out Adam.
Nick says it’s something they should consider. Adam is the type of person to take advantage of a weakness for his own benefit. Maybe they should go along with it, and Adam will weasel his way right into their father’s trap.
Victoria says Victor would finally see Adam for who he is and give up on his ridiculous belief that Adam will ever change.
Nick says it would make the whole mess worth it.
Victoria is unsure.
Nick says they’ll never stop Victor from doing what he wants, so if they go along with it, they just need Adam to be Adam.
Victoria says she’s torn. She’s furious with her father but relieved that he’s okay. She doesn’t know how to handle it.
Nick says it’s a lot to process.
Victoria says she knows Nick doesn’t trust Nate any more than he trusts Adam, but asks if Nate is on their dad’s list of possible traitors. She wonders if Victor worries that Nate might take advantage of his situation.
The Newman Ranch House
Nate tells Victor that he and Victoria confide in each other, and she has shared concerns with him about Victor’s mental health. She wasn’t being judgmental; she was just a daughter being protective of her father. She’s scared that something terrible might be happening to Victor.
Victor nods. “I see.”
Nate says he hates betraying Victoria’s trust but wants to ease Victor’s mind. Victoria wouldn’t think of using a mental lapse against him and has come to terms with Victor returning to Newman. Her concern comes from love.
Victor says he wants to believe that. He wants love from all his children.
Nate asks Victor if he thinks Nick shares Victoria’s concern.
Victor thinks back to his conversation earlier that evening with Nick. Nick had said that Victor had concerns about both Adam and Nate, and Victor had told Nick that he needed to trust in him.
Victor tells Nate he thinks Nick shares Victoria’s concern. He says he needs to tell Nate something in confidence… Nobody can know about the conversation they’re having.
Nate nods. He has his word.
Victor says that his family’s worries may be justified. He fears that his grasp on reality may be slipping away.
Nate says he’s sorry to hear that… What makes Victor say that?
Society
Nick tells Victoria he’s not trying to convince their father that Nate might be a threat.
Victoria says Nate isn’t a threat. She needs to know what their dad believes.
Nick says Victor told him he needed to sell his mental decline to Victoria, Adam, and Nate.
Victoria says that must mean that they’re his targets.
Nick says Victor doesn’t want Victoria to know about it because he’s afraid she’ll spill the beans to Nate.
Victoria says maybe they should go along with their father’s plan… She wants to see Adam fail.
Nick says he’s glad to hear it.
Victoria says Nick shouldn’t tell Victor that he told Victoria about it… That way, she’ll be more convincing when she pretends to be concerned for him.
Nick says they’ll help Adam right into their father’s trap.
Victoria figures they might be rid of Adam forever if that happens.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Dr. Skelton tells Adam that it would only work if Victor is willing to be diagnosed and examined.
Adam says that’s unlikely, but he’ll see what he can do. He appreciates Dr. Skelton’s advice. He loves his father, but he’s scared for him and wants to do whatever he can to help him.
Skelton understands. He admires Adam’s devotion.
They wrap things up, and Skelton tells Adam to make notes of any further incidents.
Dr. Skelton passes Sally on the way out of the lounge.
Sally stops at the bottom of the stairs when she sees Adam and turns to leave.
Adam looks over and calls for her. “Sally?” He gets up and asks her if she’s okay… She looks a bit frazzled.
Sally says she’s fine.
Adam asks if he can buy her a drink.
Sally says it was a mistake coming downstairs.
Adam asks if it’s because he’s there.
Sally says it’s late; she’s exhausted and should be in bed.
She leaves the lounge, and Adam follows.
Society
Nick tells Victoria he’s glad they’ve agreed to play along, but he’s not sure Victor’s plan will work on Adam. He had spoken with Adam earlier, and Adam thinks they should all join forces so they can get Victor the help he needs.
Victoria scoffs. As if Adam cares.
Nick says he didn’t believe him either, but Adam seems as worried about Victor as they are.
Victoria says Adam’s just trying to get them to believe him, but he’s going to stab Victor in the back when he can. That’s who Adam is and what he does. If this gets rid of Adam once and for all, they can thank their dad for thinking of it.
Nick takes his sister’s hand and says he knows she is scared but thinks Victor is too.
Nikki enters the restaurant and sits with them at the table.
The Newman Ranch House
Victor tells Nate that he was alarmed that he’d forgotten that Adam and Sally had lost their baby. He didn’t remember that his granddaughter died, and it made him feel like he really was losing his memory.
Nate tries to comfort him. He says Victor can’t self-diagnose the situation, he needs to talk to a medical professional who can test him and advise him on what he can do about it.
Victor nods. Is Nate saying there is hope for him?
Nate says they don’t have enough information to write Victor off as a hopeless case.
Victor’s relieved to hear that. He says it’s bothering him a lot, and he needs to get it out of his mind. He says he knew Nate would be understanding and compassionate… He’s a damn good doctor. He says that what they’re talking about now must be held in strict confidence. Nobody can know about it.
Nate says it goes without saying.
Victor says if the word got out that he’s losing his marbles, it would devastate his company.
Society
Nikki sits with Victoria and Nick. She tells Nick she knew he would leave the ranch and find his sister.
Nick says there was no way he would keep it from Victoria.
Nikki asks if he’s told Victoria everything.
Victoria says he did, and Nikki shouldn’t get mad at him for telling her what Nikki should have the moment she found out.
Nikki says she’s not mad… She’s relieved it’s out in the open.
Victoria says she doesn’t understand how Nikki could watch Victoria go through torment and not tell her about it.
Nikki apologizes and says she almost told her.
Nick tells Victoria to take it easy on their mom… Their father put her in an impossible position.
Nikki says Victor thinks someone is scheming against him and will betray him soon. This is his way of tricking them into revealing themselves.
Victoria still can’t believe that Victor would suspect her. She asks if Victor thinks that little of her.
Nikki reassures Victoria that Victor adores them both. She thinks it’s all Adam’s fault. After years of being double-crossed by his own son, Victor is wondering if he can trust anybody he’s close to.
Victoria says that’s no excuse, and she’s not sure she can forgive him.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally digs through her purse in the hallway outside her room, looking for her key.
Adam approaches and asks her to wait. He’s not stalking her, but hates that she feels so uncomfortable around him… Why did she run out of the lounge when she saw him?
Sally says she didn’t run, she had some bad dreams and was upset. She figured getting a drink would calm her down, but when she got to the lounge, she realized she needed sleep more than she needed alcohol.
Adam wonders if she would have stayed if he wasn’t there.
Sally says it has nothing to do with him.
Adam looks crestfallen.
Sally asks him why he looks like there’s something wrong. Is everything okay?
Adam says it’s not.
Sally says he looked the same way downstairs. Does this have anything to do with the man she passed on the stairs?
Adam tells her that was Dr. Skelton, and that he was meeting with him about his father. He wanted to get the doctor’s advice on how to help Victor.
Sally says Adam must really be worried about his father.
Adam says he’s worried sick but doesn’t think there’s anything he can do to help his father.
Sally hugs him.
The Newman Ranch House
Nate tells Victor he’s got some “brilliant contacts” in the mental health community. Say the word, and he’ll make arrangements to get Victor tested, diagnosed, and treated.
Victor nods. He reiterates that nobody can know about this, not even Victoria.
Nate says Victoria would be relieved that Victor’s doing something about this, but it’s Victor’s decision to make.
Victor asks Nate to make sure that Adam doesn’t hear about it either and that if any doctors call Nate back, he needs to make sure they use his cellphone. He doesn’t want there to be any trail that Adam could follow up on, or it’d be “disastrous.”
Nate asks Victor if he’s really that suspicious of Adam.
Victor says Adam is probably smelling the blood in the water already. He points out that the conversation stays between him and Nate… Or else.
Society
Nick says it’s not an everyday occurrence for someone to fake a mental decline. He thinks they all acted appropriately.
Nikki agrees.
Nick says they have to focus on what they will do going forward.
Victoria says Nick has an idea of what they should do.
Nick says they have to pretend to go along with Victor’s mental decline, and hopefully, Adam will walk right into his trap.
Nikki says Nate might be the one to walk into Victor’s trap.
Victoria scoffs. She asks for them to quit mistrusting Nate. They know as well as she does that Adam is the danger here.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
The hug between Adam and Sally lingers for a moment. They break apart and stare into each other’s eyes.
Sally kisses Adam, and he responds.
They go into Sally’s room, and Adam asks if they should stop.
Sally says she doesn’t want to stop.
They undress each other and fall into bed.

I’m soo tired of this Sally, easily falling into bed with Adam again…!
But we all knew it would happen…
Just like Billy & Jack & Phyllis…
Same storyline AGAIN?
Don’t forget Victoria and nick sent victor to prison years ago I think that’s why the company went public, Adam was not around then so I would not be supprise.if they try to declare victor inconpetant I agree Adam is no saint but he has not done any thing worse than those two.
I’m so happy that Adam and Sally finally hooked up again. I’ve been waiting for that forever it seemed like.
Sally becomes pregnant again and won’t know if it’s Adams or Nicks baby. She’s in love “again” with Adam and the baby will probably be Nicks. What a tangled web.
