Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, after Summer moved out, Kyle resigned from Marchetti and ran to Audra while Lily made a decision for her future.
Society
Audra approaches Victor’s table, and Victor asks her to sit with him.
Audra says it’s her first day at Newman Media as CEO, and it’s an honor to have a one-on-one with Victor Newman.
Victor says there’s nothing wrong with flattery as long as it’s genuine. He tells Audra that Newman Enterprises is more than a business to him… It’s his family and lifeblood, and he doesn’t like lines being crossed.
He says that Audra and a certain member of his family have become “acquainted,” and Victor met with her to give her a warning.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally is reading something on her tablet and picks up a coffee cup, only to find it empty.
She looks around the room and gets a text message from Nick, telling her he’s coming over and letting her know he plans to distract her.
She responds that she can’t wait.
Adam slips a letter underneath her door and leaves.
The GCAC
Chelsea thanks Billy for breakfast. She says it’s a nice change from Crimson Lights.
Billy says it’s nice to be with her.
Daniel approaches their table and says he wanted to share some good news about Omega Sphere.
He says the numbers are building daily and the game has had great reviews.
Billy congratulates Chelsea and Daniel on their success.
Summer comes up to the table and says she’s been looking forward to talking with Chelsea… She asks if Chelsea would work at Marchetti with her.
Daniel asks if Summer is trying to poach his talent.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally picks up the envelope and sees it’s from Adam. There’s a knock at the door, and she calls for him to leave her alone.
It’s Nick, not Adam, and she invites him in. She shows Nick the envelope that Adam left.
Nick asks what Adam wants.
Sally says that the more she tells Adam to back off, the more insistent he gets.
Nick says he feels for Adam having to make a choice and losing the baby. He says Adam is battling Victor, but he wishes Adam had listened when he told him to give Sally space.
He says Adam brought up something that they needed to talk about.
Sally laughs and asks if Nick is taking advice from Adam.
Nick says he wasn’t there for Sally when she was at the hospital.
Sally says she doesn’t blame him, he had to be there for Faith, and he had no idea that Sally and her baby’s life was in danger.
Nick says he wasn’t there to help her, and he feels bad.
Sally says that Adam twists everything to his benefit, and it’s hurtful, and there’s no room for someone who doesn’t respect her wishes.
Society
Audra tells Victor that she hopes she didn’t do anything to upset him.
Victor asks if she knows Adam.
Audra says she met Adam once at the GCAC.
Victor says Adam orchestrated their meeting, and he knows that Adam can be “charming”.
Audra says she was careful not to give up anything about Newman Media.
Victor tells Audra he wanted to forewarn her that Adam is looking to take over Newman Media. Is she ready for the battle?
The GCAC
Summer tells Daniel that the game has launched, so they probably don’t need Chelsea anymore… She’s not stealing the talent; she’s “sharing” the talent.
Daniel says that Chelsea is valued at Omega Sphere.
Chelsea says she turned Summer down when she last asked; what’s different this time?
Summer says there have been some changes at Marchetti, and Chelsea would help her run the company. Summer has been promoted to CEO, and Chelsea would take over Summer’s old position as Creative Director.
Billy says he thought that Kyle was the CEO.
Summer says that Kyle has left Marchetti, and she needs to build her team.
Daniel takes Summer aside and asks her what this is all about.
Summer tells Daniel that she and Kyle have separated.
Crimson Lights
Billy is on the phone with Jack. Billy tells Jack that he doesn’t think it’s a good idea to let the co-CEO be in the dark about these things, and wants a heads-up the next time he makes any decisions like that. He hangs up the phone.
Chelsea asks Billy what’s up.
Billy says that Jack told him that Kyle & Summer have separated and Summer has moved out.
Chelsea says it makes sense why Summer is looking for her talent. She asks if she should consider the position at Marchetti.
Billy says that he thinks it’d be a good opportunity for Chelsea to take advantage of.
Chelsea says that Billy’s just looking for a chance to work with her again.
The GCAC
Daniel asks Summer if she thinks she’ll be able to reconcile with Kyle.
Summer says she has a room upstairs at the club, and Kyle just needs time.
She says she’s gone through rough patches with Kyle in the past, but they always got past them.
Daniel says that he’s feeling like a protective older brother and hopes that she does get back together with Kyle, but he doesn’t want her to get hurt if it doesn’t happen.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Nick tells Sally that Victoria had him take a leave of absence to deal with the turmoil in his life.
Sally asks if she’s part of the turmoil.
Nick says Sally is the best part of his turmoil.
Sally says that Nick has been through a lot, maybe the leave of absence is for the best.
Nick says that the leave was mandatory. He thinks that Nate and Victoria have other goals in mind. He says that if it were up to Nate, he won’t have a job to go back to.
Society
Victor tells Audra that Adam doesn’t make idle threats; he’s declared war on Newman Media.
Audra says that Newman Media will be safe under her watch.
She asks why Victor is playing both sides… He owns McCall but wants her to defend against Adam’s attacks on Newman Media.
Victor laughs and tells Audra not to worry about his motives… All she needs to know is that Victor doesn’t want Adam to take over Newman Media.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally asks how Nick will stop Nate and Victoria from taking his job.
Nick says he’s just going to see how things shake out… Maybe he’ll do something else.
Sally says she’s climbing the walls; everything in the room reminds her of what happened.
Nick says she needs to take her mind off it. He asks what else is going on in her life.
Sally says that Chloe has called her but is unsure what she wants and hasn’t felt like talking lately.
Nick says that Sally should call Chloe back and see what she wants.
Crimson Lights
Billy asks Chelsea what she thinks about the gaming job she’s doing right now.
Chelsea says it’s rewarding.
Billy says that Marchetti would be a good fit if Chelsea wants to stay in the fashion world instead of gaming.
Billy leaves to head back to the office, and Chloe comes by and sits down with Chelsea.
Chelsea tells Chloe that Summer offered her a job at Marchetti and asks what Chloe thinks about it.
Chloe says that it’s a huge position with lots of responsibility.
Chelsea asks what Chloe thinks… Is Chelsea a good fit for the position?
Chloe says she isn’t a good person to answer that question.
Chelsea asks what she means.
Chloe says that she didn’t do much for Chelsea when she was at her lowest point; how can she know if Chloe is fit for a job?
The GCAC
Audra arrives at the club, and the hostess hands her a bouquet and a small box.
There’s a card that reads, “From one over-achiever to another. Thanks for showing me your moves.”
Summer walks by on her way to her room and sees Audra smelling the flowers. She stops to look.
Crimson Lights
Chelsea says that Chloe isn’t responsible for making her feel the way she did.
Chloe says that she should have seen the warning signs.
Chelsea says Chloe was supportive all along, but Chelsea shut her out. She says she needs to be more vigilant and not push people away.
Chloe says Chelsea can always depend on her.
Chelsea says she needs to lean on her right now. She wants to go over the job offer with her.
Chloe laughs and says she’s happy to talk about it.
Society
Nick walks into the restaurant and sits down with Victor.
Victor starts the conversation by saying he had nothing to do with Nick’s forced sabbatical… In fact, he and Nikki were against it.
Nick thanks him for his support.
Victor says he tries to help his family.
Nick says Faith is doing well; she’s happy to be back living in the dorm with her friends.
Victor says he plays chess with Faith once a week.
Nick was told that his staff has been reassigned, and thinks Victoria seems to be playing her own type of chess game.
Victor says he’s keeping an eye on things. He says that he wants Nick to help Adam at McCall.
The GCAC
Summer tells Audra that she received some really beautiful flowers. She asks if Audra has an admirer.
Audra says that the flowers are to congratulate her on her first day as CEO of Newman Media.
Summer says that it looks like Audra’s received some jewelry as well… She recognizes the jeweler’s box.
Audra looks a bit uncomfortable and asks if Summer is staying upstairs in a suite.
Summer says that it’s only temporary… Like Audra’s new position. She heads upstairs.
Adam walks over to Audra and says she’s meeting all the movers and shakers in town.
Audra says she’s been warned about him.
Adam laughs and says she probably never has listened to a warning in her life. He heads into the restaurant.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally opens the door to Chloe. She says she’s sorry she hasn’t been working lately.
Chloe says it’s ok and asks how Sally’s doing.
Sally says things haven’t been easy on her lately.
Chloe says losing a child is the hardest thing in the world. She says that Sally shouldn’t worry… She has everything covered at work.
Sally says Nick thinks work might be a good distraction for her.
Chloe looks around and says Sally’s been cooped up for a while.
Sally says she’s mostly been stuck at home, but she’s been doing stretches and taking laps around the block. A distraction would be good for her.
Chloe sits beside Sally and says she has approved sketches and colors for Chancellor-Winters, and they’ll start renovations soon in the common areas.
Sally says it sounds like Chloe’s been busy.
Chloe asks if it’s too overwhelming for Sally to hear about it.
Sally says it’s not, and she’s thankful that Chloe’s been taking over.
Chloe says they’ll start slow.
Society
Nick tells Victor that Adam doesn’t want to talk to him, and he doesn’t want to talk to Adam right now either. He says Adam’s been harassing Sally and not giving her the space she wants.
Victor says that Adam just wants to share his grief with Sally, and that Adam is capable of change.
Nick says that Adam is always Victor’s blind spot.
Victor says there’s truth to that, and he hopes Nick will never go through what Adam has gone through with the loss of a child. He says that Adam needs support and asks if Nick can find it in his heart to give Adam one more chance.
Nick nods slowly and asks what exactly Victor wants from him.
The GCAC
Audra comes downstairs and sits beside Adam at the bar.
Adam asks Audra if she needs to make a “thank you” call.
Audra asks him what he means by that.
Adam says she received a nice floral arrangement and wonders who sent the flowers.
Audra says she doesn’t want to ruin the mystery. She asks Adam who he’s expecting.
Adam doesn’t answer the question. He asks Audra who warned her about him.
Audra tells him to take a guess.
Adam says it’s a long list of people.
Audra says she’s the CEO of Newman Media, and she’s been warned that he’s looking to encroach on her territory.
Adam says she’s interim CEO, and it’s a temporary position. He says Audra is known for betraying her employers and asks if she’d be willing to do it again.
Summer’s GCAC Suite
Daniel knocks on the door, and Summer lets him in. She asks what’s up.
Daniel says he has something to tell her that she won’t like. He says he texted Phyllis and let her know that Kyle and Summer have separated.
Summer asks why he’d do that.
Daniel says that Phyllis was responsible for Summer and Kyle’s breakup, and she needs to take responsibility for it.
Society
Victor asks Nick to work with Adam at McCall.
Nick says Victor already asked him to work with Adam… He doesn’t want to.
Victor begs Nick to work with Adam. He says he’s worried about Adam, and if Nick were willing to support him, it would really help Adam.
Sally’s GCAC Suite
Sally discusses the design with Chloe and shows her some sketches on a tablet.
Chloe says she loves it… The sketch and seeing Sally smile again. She sees the look on Sally’s face when she mentions her smile and says that Sally isn’t betraying her daughter by being happy.
Sally thanks her. She says that Ava would have loved her Aunt Chloe.
Chloe says Ava is a beautiful name. She says she has to leave to see Kevin, and says Sally should get together with Lily and Devon to discuss the job.
Sally says she’s ready to get out into the world.
Chloe says she’ll set up a meeting and let Sally know when it is.
Sally thanks her for showing up and encouraging her.
Chloe hugs Sally and leaves.
Sally pulls Adam’s envelope out of the trash and opens it.
She starts reading.
The letter reads:
I know I could apologize, but it wouldn’t be enough to ease your pain because there’s nothing to ease mine. Ava will live on in our hearts, and I believe there can be healing. Losing Ava binds us for eternity, and I want to be there to support her. I’ll be waiting downstairs until noon.
The GCAC
Audra tells Adam that she’s happy in whatever role Victoria deems best for her, and she’s looking to take Adam down if that’s what it takes.
She says it’s past noon, and she guesses he’s been stood up by whomever he’s waiting for.
Adam tells Audra that she’s made a big mistake by underestimating him, and she’d better be prepared for the battle of her life. He leaves.
