Victoria walks into the office, and Victor tells her that whatever she’s reading must be engrossing.
Victoria asks what Victor’s doing there so late.
Victor says they have unfinished business, and she won’t walk out on him this time.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Audra tells Kyle that the best burger you can get is the one you get at midnight when you’re starving.
Kyle tells Audra that they should have one more round, and he’ll tell her where to get the best burger in town.
Audra asks if he’s bribing her.
Kyle says he’s just enjoying her company.
Audra says that she has one condition.
Kyle says he might not have the upper hand with an over-achiever like her.
Audra says she buys the next round and indulges her topic of conversation… She wants to get a little more personal.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Ashley comes downstairs and gets a notification on her phone with a press release about Diane’s promotion.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane tells Jack she’s ready for a date with her handsome fiance.
Jack says she looks stunning.
Diane says Jack is charming and kisses him.
Jack says he just saw the press release about her new Jabot position come through.
Billy walks into the house.
Jack asks him what’s up.
Billy asks about the press release showcasing Diane’s promotion to Chief Talent Officer. He asks if Jack consulted with anyone on the board before giving Diane a promotion.
Newman Enterprises
Victoria tells her father that if the topic is Nick’s leave of absence, she’s having a drink, and Victor should join her.
Victor says he’s upset with Victoria; he seemed to have struck a nerve by bringing Nate up the last time they talked.
Victoria says that it was her decision to replace Nick with Nate.
Victor says he and Nikki have questions about that decision.
Victoria says it’s frustrating having her executive decisions questioned.
Victor says that Victoria told her that he could fire her if he disagreed with her decision.
Victoria says she said that in the heat of the moment. She says that thinking of her sweet little niece must have been traumatizing for Nick, so she insisted he takes time off.
Victor says that Nick can make that decision on his own.
Victoria says that she’s sorry that it upsets him, but Nick needs time to work through his emotions. She says Nick will come back when he’s strong and centered.
Victor asks how Nick reacted to the decision.
Victoria says that she hasn’t heard from Nick since she first told him about it.
Victor says they need to talk about Nate.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Billy he approved the press release.
Billy says that Jack just detonated a bomb that’ll cause a family war.
Diane says he doesn’t have to worry about it.
Jack says he’s the CEO, and he’s allowed to make decisions without anyone’s input.
Billy says he should have consulted with his co-CEO.
Jack asks Diane to go to the club, and he’ll meet her there after he talks with Billy. She leaves.
Billy tells Jack to explain himself.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Kyle tells Audra he was enjoying their non-personal conversation; why change a good thing?
Audra says he’s avoiding some things… And they have a growing tab. She says she can only talk about cheeseburgers for so long.
She asks Kyle about the man underneath that freshly pressed suit.
Kyle asks if she’s calling him uptight.
Audra says Kyle presents a composed face to the world, despite troubled waters beneath the surface.
Kyle says he’s the CEO of Marchetti, so he has to know how to put on a good face, but he may be a bad boy underneath his facade.
Audra laughs and asks what type of bad things he’s done… Did he raid a liquor cabinet?
Kyle says he raided the liquor cabinet of the richest guy in New York and had an affair with his wife.
Audra smiles and says she’s shocked, but there might be hope for him after all.
They clink their glasses in a toast.
Newman Enterprises
Victoria tells Victor there’s nothing to discuss about Nate.
Victor disagrees and wonders if Nate had influenced Victoria to put him in the COO position.
Victoria says it was her call to have Nick take a step away, and Nate had challenged her when she asked him to take Nick’s place. She says that Victor praised Nate’s work at Newman Media.
Victor says Nick doesn’t trust Nate.
Victoria says that she’s the one working with Nate, and Nick just doesn’t know him.
Victor tells her not to pull the wool over his eyes. He says Victoria doesn’t just work with Nate; she has a personal relationship with him, which must affect her judgment.
Victoria asks Victor to trust her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Billy that he chose to promote Diane.
Billy says that certain people won’t take this well. He names Abby, Ashley, and everyone who works at Jabot.
Jack says he didn’t want to hear counter-arguments from everyone, including Billy.
Billy says that Jack went behind everyone’s back and that they’re backed into a corner now. He says that if the board doesn’t go along with it, it’ll hurt the company by airing the dirty laundry.
Jack says Diane is being promoted, end of story.
Billy tells him that it doesn’t end here.
Jack says it does if he says it does.
Billy says that Jack has launched a missile at Ashley, and he’s causing an all-out war at Jabot.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Ashley is talking on the phone in the lobby when Diane enters.
Ashley ends her call and asks Diane if she’s out past her bedtime.
Diane laughs it off and says she’s there to meet Jack for dinner.
Ashley mentions that Diane is Jabot’s new Chief Talent Officer. She says it’s surprising that she heard it online instead of hearing it from anyone at Jabot.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Audra’s surprised that Kyle had an affair with a married woman.
Kyle says the affair resulted in Harrison.
Audra says she knew that… She’s done some digging on him, and he’s married to her ex’s sister.
Kyle winces and asks her what her “bad side” consists of.
Audra laughs and says she had sex in a helicopter.
Kyle says that’s impressive, but engaging with the pilot was dangerous.
Audra says she’s not afraid of danger.
Kyle says since she’s alive, he assumes she had sex with a passenger. He says he’s heard that she’s made some real achievements in the boardroom too.
Audra lifts an eyebrow and says her achievements aren’t limited to the boardroom.
Kyle says he bets they aren’t… Why doesn’t she show him?
Audra laughs, and Kyle takes her hand and leads her to the dance floor.

Victoria tells Victor that he trusted her when he appointed her CEO, and she hopes that he still trusts her.
Nate comes in and asks if it’s too late to enjoy their bourbon. He sees Victor and says he didn’t know that Victor was there.
Victoria says she needs to talk to Nate and asks Victor to leave them.
Victor says he needs to talk to Nate alone first.
Victoria leaves, and Victor asks Nate to close the door. He tells Nate to pour him a glass of bourbon.
Nate says he wants Victor to know that he’s going to do his best in the COO position. He’s going to impress Victor, Nikki, and Nick.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Billy there will be no war at Jabot.
Billy says that Jack just gave Ashley ammunition and that Diane is not qualified for the position. He warns Jack that Tucker is planning something with Ashley.
Jack says it’s all hypothetical. He asks if Billy has his and Diane’s back.
Billy says he disapproves of Jack’s methods, but he has his back because he’s his brother and co-CEO.
Jack asks if Billy has Diane’s back too.
Billy says he does… Until she gives him a reason not to.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Ashley tells Diane that it must be a dream job, working side-by-side with Jack. She says that between Diane’s new job and planning her wedding, she’s going to be busy.
Diane says she’s surprised that Ashley’s not angry.
Ashley says she’s upset a bit but not angry; her life is going in a different direction.
Diane is suspicious and wonders what Ashley is planning.
Ashley smiles deviously and says she likes to get under Diane’s skin.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Kyle and Audra finish dancing. Kyle says it’s late; he should get home.
Audra says she should go too… She has a big day at work tomorrow.
Audra thanks Kyle and says that their evening together was a nice distraction.
Kyle says it was good for him, too; it took his mind off things.
Audra says she’ll walk him out. She assumes he’s not driving.
Kyle says he’ll get a cab home.
Audra says living upstairs has its perks… She doesn’t have to wait for a taxi.
Newman Enterprises
Nate takes a drink and tells Victor that he figures that Victor has feelings about Nate taking the COO position. He says that as soon as Nick’s ready to return, he’ll return to Newman Media. He insists there’s no power grab going on.
Victor warns Nate, saying if he makes a mistake like he did at Chancellor-Winters, Victor would be his enemy, and he doesn’t wish that on anyone.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Jack comes in and sees Diane and Ashley talking. He says he’s sorry he’s late.
Diane says their table is ready, and Ashley wishes them a good evening and leaves.
Diane and Jack head into the restaurant and sit at a table.
Jack says that he thought he would be walking into a battle between Ashley and Diane.
Diane says that Ashley was surprisingly civil and had read the press release.
Jack says it makes him nervous.
Diane says that Ashley hinted at other plans she had, but wouldn’t tell Diane about it.
Jack says that Ashley doesn’t have a majority with the board; there will be no coup.
Diane asks how things went with Billy.
Jack said that Billy warned him that he was antagonizing Ashley.
Kyle and Audra are in the club lobby, saying their goodbyes.
Kyle thanks Audra for distracting him.
Audra thinks that both she and Kyle had a wild streak when they were younger.
Kyle says he’s still got some bad boy left in him.
Audra says Kyle’s tie is perfectly knotted after a night of drinking and dancing… He can’t be that bad.
Kyle undoes his tie a bit.
Audra smiles and says that maybe the bad boy is in there somewhere.
Newman Enterprises
Nate tells Victor that his warning is crystal clear. He says he cares about the company, and he wants Victoria to be able to lean on him personally and professionally.
Victor says that’s good to hear.
Nate says that he’s sad that Nick can’t trust him.
Victor says Nick and Nate used to be friends.
Nate says that Nick said the only way he could regain his trust was to refuse the COO position.
Victor says Nate accepted it anyhow.
Nate says he didn’t want to disappoint Victoria and that Victor would have done the same in his position.
Victor says Nate’s right… He probably would have.
Victoria comes back and says that she heard Victor agree with Nate; they must be getting somewhere.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley comes home and asks Billy what he’s doing there.
Billy’s sitting on the couch, eating some pie, and Ashley takes a little nibble.
Billy says that he was hoping to run into her. He asks what’s going on.
Ashley says she saw the press release, but she’s not surprised by it. She asks if Billy wrote the press release.
Billy says he didn’t write it, and he’s surprised that Ashley isn’t angry about it.
Ashley says she gave up on the war with Jack. She says she should have listened to Billy from the beginning.
Billys says he doesn’t believe her… What’s Ashley got up her sleeve?
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Jack asks Diane what she wants to eat.
Diane says she doesn’t care; he can order for her.
Jack asks what’s going on, she usually makes up her mind about a meal.
Diane says she’s too concerned with Ashley to think about food.
She says that Jack needs to get ahead of any questions and criticisms that the board comes at him with about her new position.
Jack says there will be no opposition.
Diane says she’s relieved. They start talking about Kyle and Summer, and she says she’s out of ideas on how to help them.
Jack says they shouldn’t talk about their troubles for the rest of the evening; he wants to have a conversation about their wedding and enjoy being in love with Diane.
Diane says Jack deserves that and more… He’s done everything for her over the last few months.
Kyle tells Audra he should get a cab now.
Audra says she should take a shower and get into bed.
Kyle says that sounds like a great idea.
Audra says goodnight; she had a lovely time. She walks up the stairs and looks at Kyle over her shoulder.
Kyle heads upstairs after her.
Jack turns around and sees Kyle go up the stairs. Diane asks him why he looks concerned.
Newman Enterprises
Victoria asks if she can pour a bourbon to celebrate Nate “helping out” during Nick’s absence.
Victor says he’s leaving, but he’ll keep a close eye on things.
Victoria wishes him a good night.
Victor leaves.
Nate says Victor was worried he was going to make a power move to replace Nick.
Victoria says she thought that’s what they talked about.
Nate says Victoria’s brilliant.
Victoria says if they’ve won over Victor, they’re both brilliant. They kiss.
The Abbott Mansion
Billy tells Ashley she has a gleam in her eye.
Ashley says she has something up her sleeve, but it’s a good thing.
Billy asks if she’ll tell him what it is.
Ashley says she won’t let the cat out of the bag.
Billy says he hopes she knows what he’s doing.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Jack says they should go to the lounge and have a dance together.
Diane says she doesn’t want to be distracted, so she asks him what he was thinking about.
Jack says he just saw Kyle go upstairs… He must have got a hotel room.
Diane says she doesn’t like Kyle running away from his problems.
Jack says that a night apart may make Kyle and Summer understand how much they need each other.
Audra’s Hotel Room at the GCAC
Kyle and Audra start making out, and their clothes fall to the floor.
