In a sinister move, he murdered Frank Barritt, Sharon’s former lover and the father of Cassie and Mariah, framing Sharon for the gruesome act. Upon finally revealing his survival, he manipulated Sharon into believing that her only escape from a prison sentence was to flee with him. Coerced into his plan, Sharon reluctantly agreed to leave Genoa City with Cameron.
Their departure took a dramatic turn when Nick Newman, Sharon’s estranged husband, made a surprise appearance on their getaway plane. In a moment of adrenaline and resolve, Nick incapacitated Cameron, disrupting his nefarious plans to ensnare Sharon indefinitely. Acting swiftly, Nick fastened a parachute onto the unconscious Cameron and sent him plummeting from the aircraft.
Nick and Sharon, determined to see this through, leaped after him. A daring mid-air pursuit ensued, concluding with all three making an unexpected landing amidst the rustling leaves of a sprawling cornfield.
Following their dramatic landing in the middle of nowhere, Nick and Sharon had to quickly adjust to the situation at hand. Despite the disorientation, they had the presence of mind to keep a cautious distance from Cameron, who was coming back to his senses.
Nick had alerted the authorities before embarking on the audacious intervention, but they were in the middle of a sprawling cornfield, miles away from the nearest town. Understanding the urgency of their situation, Nick and Sharon made the decision to haul an unconscious Cameron through the vast countryside, driven by the desperation to bring him to justice.
They dragged Cameron through fields and over dirt roads, a surreal and exhausting journey that lasted hours. Their determination paid off as they finally reached the outskirts of a nearby town just as the sun began to rise, the distant sound of sirens growing steadily louder.
