On the last episode of Y&R, Ashley asked Tucker to move in with her, Chance found out Stark is dead, and it was revealed that Sally is having a baby girl.
Society
Nate is sitting in the restaurant when Adam comes up to his table.
Adam sits down and asks how things are at Newman Media.
Nate says it couldn’t be better.
Adam says Nate has everything to be successful at Newman… He’s not a Newman and he’s not romantically intertwined with one either.
Newman Enterprises
Victoria and Nikki come into the office talking business.
Victoria asks if they went back in time to when Victor was CEO, as he’s sitting behind the desk.
Nikki gives him a kiss in greeting.
Victor says he’s there to tell them some good news. He says they’re looking at the new owner of McCall Unlimited.
Victoria says that she thought he was going to tell them something important.
Victor says the competition will begin now.
Nikki says she can’t wait to see what happens.
Victoria ironically says that with Adam in charge, it’s a win-win situation.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle says goodbye to Harrison from the front door. He tells Summer that he misses being together with her.
Summer says she’s sorry she’s shut down lately.
Kyle says she has to let him in.
Summer says she has to leave.
Crimson Lights
Jack asks Chance how Jeremy Stark died.
Chance says he doesn’t have details, but Stark’s body was found washed up on a lakeshore by a fisherman.
Jack once again tells Chance things aren’t as they seem.
Genoa City Police Department
Diane comes into the visiting room and tells Michael he looks like hell.
Michael says he hasn’t been sleeping much lately.
Diane asks how he plans to get her out of this mess.
Society
Nate says he likes to think he’s succeeding at Newman because of his own abilities.
Adam says that he’s implementing some of what Sally was working on.
Nate says that Sally was doing a good job at Newman and that he didn’t campaign for the job.
They talk for a minute about Sally, and Adam mentions that Sally’s baby is his.
Newman Enterprises
Victor says Victoria will change her mind when she finds out that McCall’s divisions will give her a run for the money.
He says she’ll kick herself when she realizes what she missed out on.
Victoria says that Adam will be running it, and Victor will be sorry when Adam messes it up.
Victor says that Adam will be someone to reckon with. He says he loves both Nikki and Victoria and leaves.
Victoria tells Nikki that Victor’s gone overboard, and has no idea how this will fail.
Nikki says that Victor knows what he’s doing.
Crimson Lights
Jack says he’ll be in touch with Chance and stalks out of the coffee shop, angry.
Chance tells Sharon he feels like he’s running off all her customers.
Sharon says that she understands.
Chance says that she’s comparing serving coffee to police work. He says that he needs something a bit more substantial than coffee right now.
He says that it’s a bit early, but he’d like to take her out for a bite to eat now.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Diane thanks Michael and says that 90% of people in town want her to fry, and that Lauren must be angry he’s defending her.
Michael says that Lauren’s not happy but he deals in facts.
He says they have to focus on building a strong defense.
Diane asks what evidence they have against her.
Michael says that they’ll get to that later, but she needs to tell him everything that happened that night, and if she omits anything, she can find herself another lawyer.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle asks where Summer’s going but she refuses to tell him.
Summer says she needs to mourn her mother in her own way, and he needs to understand that.
She says that the errand she’s running may bring them all closure.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Michael says there’s a gap in Diane’s timeline. He says that she was alone between the time that she said she was going to strangle Phyllis and the time that Phyllis died.
Diane scoffs and asks if he thinks she put poison in Phyllis’s drink during that time.
He says the poison was in Phyllis’s mask. He asks if she was alone in Phyllis’s room.
Diane says she was. She says it doesn’t make sense.
Michael shows her a receipt that shows she purchased the poison using her credit card online.
He says that Christine will try to say it was premeditated.
Diane says she had nothing to do with Phyllis’s death, and to find Jeremy Stark, he’s behind this.
Michael says that Christine will have Diane’s family testify against her.
Diane says that Jack and Kyle will understand and downplay her involvement.
Michael asks about Summer.
Diane says that Summer will do everything she can to make sure Diane is behind bars for life.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle asks what he can do for Summer.
Summer says she needs answers.
Kyle says they will always belong together.
Jack comes in, and Summer sees the look on his face and asks what’s wrong.
He says that Stark is dead.
Newman Enterprises
Nikki says that whether she admits it or not, she knows that Victoria is hurting from missing out on buying McCall.
Victoria says now she has to live with Adam lording it over her.
She says that Victor will make a big deal out of it for Adam.
Nikki says Victoria should take some time off to relax.
Victoria says she has a trip to L.A. coming up.
Nikki says that’s for business.
Victoria says she could add some time for a vacation.
Nate comes to the door.
Victoria says she knows how to take time for herself. She says that Nikki should just ask Nate, he will back her up on that.

The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Chance and Sharon walk into the lounge and have a seat at a table.
Chance laughs and says that he can’t believe she chose this place, he’s trying to not think about work.
Society
Victor and Adam sit at a table in the restaurant.
Victor tells Adam that congratulations are in order.
Adam figures out he’s talking about being the baby’s father. He asks how Victor found out.
Victor says that Nick told him.
Adam says that he knows that Victor doesn’t care for Sally, so why does he care?
Victor says that a new Newman baby is great news, no matter the mother.
He says that he bought McCall Unlimited, and Adam will start working there tomorrow.
Adam is surprised that Victor actually bought the company.
Victor says it’s a legacy that will go on forever.
Adam says that his new baby is being used for leverage to make him run McCall, and he’s having second thoughts about being involved with the company at all.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Diane says that she won’t get out now, not with the evidence against her.
Michael says that the EMT said that Phyllis was holding Diane’s ring.
Diane says the ring was in Jack’s pocket and Jeremy stole it.
Michael says they need to talk about the biggest evidence against her.
The Abbott Mansion
Summer says now that Stark is dead, she’ll have to live with her questions being unanswered.
Kyle asks her to stay so they can talk.
Summer says she doesn’t want to talk about Jeremy Stark, her mother’s murderer.
Kyle says he’ll go with her.
Summer says she’s going by herself and leaves.
Jack asks what that was all about.
Kyle says he wishes he knew.
Newman Enterprises
Nikki asks Nate if he thinks that Victoria can relax outside the office.
Nate says Victoria’s the boss, and if she says so, then he believes her.
Nikki says it’s too bad he’s just sucking up to her, and it’s no use talking to him if he’s just going to team up on her.
She says she’ll let them talk. She leaves the office.
Victoria asks what he’s there for.
Nate asks her what’s going on.
Victoria says she’s heading to L.A. for a shopping spree.
Nate asks if she’s going to Rodeo Drive.
Victoria says no, she’s looking for business opportunities.
She asks him to join her.
Chancellor Park
Summer shows up at the park and looks around for someone.
Daniel walks by, and Summer asks if he’s the one that messaged her.
Daniel says no, but he comes to the park a lot to clear his head.
Summer asks if it usually works for him.
Daniel says it doesn’t, but he’s glad he ran into her, he hasn’t talked to her in a while.
Summer says she’s not ready.
Daniel says he’s not really ready to talk either, but they have to.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Michael plays the voicemail that Phyllis left him for Diane.
Diane says Phyllis sounds scared, but the Phyllis that trapped her in the room wasn’t acting scared of her at all.
She asks why Phyllis would leave a voicemail like that for him and asks what other evidence she doesn’t know about.
Michael says that the police found a letter from Phyllis when they searched Diane’s room at the Abbott Mansion. He brings it out and lets her read it.
Diane says she’s never seen that letter before, and that someone must have planted it there.
Michael asks who could have planted it.
Diane implies that Phyllis must have planted it.
Michael asks if she’s accusing Phyllis of being an accomplice in her own murder.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Chance says that he really enjoyed their meal and he needed the distraction.
His phone pings. He says he has to run and take care of something, but he had a great time.
Sharon says that she really enjoyed it too. She tells him to go and catch some bad guys.
Chance leaves.
Chancellor Park
Daniel says that Summer needs to open up to him.
Summer says that she thinks that the world would be a better place if people kept their feelings to themselves.
She says she found out some shocking news.
Daniel asks what it is.
Summer says their new stepfather is dead.
Daniel asks if she’s talking about Stark.
Summer says she is, and he should talk to Chance, maybe he’ll let him know what’s going on. She says Chance won’t tell her anything.
Daniel asks her to come to the station with him.
Summer says that he just wants to keep an eye on her, but she doesn’t need constant supervision.
Daniel says he’ll back off, but it doesn’t mean he’s not worried about her.
He says he’ll be around for her to talk to whenever she needs it, and he loves her.
Summer says she loves him too.
Daniel leaves her alone in the park.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Diane wonders if Stark had an accomplice.
Michael asks if she means a situation like Diane in L.A. smuggling money for Stark.
Diane scoffs and says that she found Phyllis in her home right before the gala, and she might have planted the letter and taken her credit card.
Michael asks why she’d involve herself in a scenario that involves her own death.
Diane wonders what if Phyllis’s death was an accident. What if Stark turned on Phyllis at the last minute and gave her a fatal dose? She speculates that Phyllis’s murder was a “revenge plot” by Jeremy.
Society
Victor says of course Adam will run McCall, it’s his to run.
Adam says he wants some guarantees… He wants total autonomy from Newman and from Victor.
Victor laughs and says, “In your dreams, son.”
Adam says to make it a reality or his dream is dead.
Victor tells him to think of the legacy he could provide to his sons and daughter. He asks what would happen to Adam if he walked away.
Adam says it’s an amazing opportunity, and he’ll think about it.
He gets up and leaves Victor alone at the table.
Newman Enterprises
Nate asks if Victoria thinks it’s wise for them to go to L.A. together.
Victoria says that if his hesitation leads from the other night, he is capable of a vast amount of self-control, so what’s his problem? She says it’s just a business trip.
Nate says he’s very interested in the business.
Victoria says that he’ll join her then.
Nate says he will.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle asks if Diane or Michael knows that Stark is dead.
Jack says he’s not sure.
GCPD Visitor’s Room
Diane says that she needs to speak to Jeremy and asks Michael to get him to speak with her.
Michael says Stark’s on the run, he doesn’t know where he is.
The buzzer rings to signal the end of the visit, and as she’s escorted out of the room by a policewoman, Diane says that Michael needs to find Stark.
Diane leaves just as Michael’s phone rings.
It’s Kyle on the phone. He tells Michael that Stark is dead.
Chancellor Park
Summer is waiting in the park. She hears someone behind her and turns around.
It’s Phyllis.
Phyllis smiles at Summer, who is obviously shocked by her mother’s appearance.
