Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Jill demanded answers as Mamie laughed with a secret conspirator, while Jack & Diane planned their vow renewal.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker enters the restaurant as Billy gets up to leave.
Billy asks Tucker why he’s still doing in town.
Tucker asks why he’d ask that.
Billy says he has evidence that Tucker and Audra covered up for a statutory rapist and he failed miserably when he tried to make it look like Billy embezzled money from Jabot.
Billy goes on to say that he paid the money back to Jabot, and since he doesn’t know anyone who actually likes Tucker, he thought he would have left town by now.
Tucker says he has a son and a grandson in town who like him, and he’s not about to leave them again. He says that he’s not planning to exact revenge on the Abbotts or Jabot, since Billy’s holding a bomb over his head… Billy’s forced him to back off.
Billy says that backing off isn’t the same as abandoning his plans.
Tucker scoffs and says he’s abandoned his plans… Better?
Billy doesn’t think so.
Tucker says he can’t prove to Billy that he’s finished with the Abbotts and their “precious little company.”
Billy says he knows what Tucker can do… He can leave Genoa City for good and not look back.
The Abbott Mansion
Traci tells Jack she was able to change the flower order just in time.
Jack asks Traci how she remembered that Abby was allergic to lilies.
Traci laughs and says Abby is her niece, and she’s Traci Abbott… That’s what she does!
Jack says he’s not sure what he’d do without Traci in his life. He kisses her on the cheek.
Diane wanders around the house, looking a bit lost.
Jack asks Diane if everything is alright.
Diane says her dress she sent out for alterations hasn’t shown up yet. It’s noon, it should be there by now!
Jack says Diane will have her dress soon… Nobody is more responsible than Lauren.
Traci can’t believe Diane got her dress from Lauren instead of one of the Marchetti designers.
Diane saw the dress and fell in love. She wasn’t thinking that Phyllis was Lauren’s best friend.
Traci figures Diane must be worried that Phyllis will sabotage her wedding celebration.
Crimson Lights
Lauren orders a latte with a splash of vanilla.
Phyllis walks in and sees Lauren. She thinks back to the party she’d thrown in the park after she got off on the charges.
Flashback. Phyllis told Lauren she was an incredible friend who stood by her through her entire ordeal. Lauren had responded that they always would be best friends.
Phyllis walks over to Lauren and greets her. She sees the tag on the dress that Lauren is holding. “D. Abbott.” Phyllis says, “Don’t tell me that’s what I think it is!”
Lauren says it’s Diane’s dress for her wedding reception.
Phyllis thinks it’s unbelievable… Lauren is Phyllis’s friend, and she’s dressing Diane in a dress from the Fenmore collection? She thinks Lauren is backstabbing her.
Lauren says she would never do anything for Diane, but Jack asked for a favor, and she couldn’t refuse him… She loves Phyllis and Jack.
Phyllis asks if Lauren gave Jack a dunce cap.
Lauren says if Phyllis is trying to sell herself as a reformed person, she needs to let go of her issues with Jack & Diane.
Phyllis says there’s no way she would let go of her thing for Diane.
Lauren says for better or worse, Diane wants to be with Jack.
Phyllis says that even though everyone thinks she’s a bad person, it doesn’t make Diane any less horrible, and Lauren is just cheering them on by helping them out.
Lauren says it was difficult for her.
Phyllis says Jack and Diane shouldn’t be getting married at all.
Lauren narrows her eyes and waggles her finger at Phyllis. “You aren’t planning on blowing up the reception, are you?”
Phyllis just gives her a look.
The Abbott Mansion
Traci tells Diane that Phyllis is on probation right now. One wrong move, and she’ll find herself behind bars. She doesn’t think Phyllis is going to sabotage anything.
Diane figures Phyllis can find a way to ruin things without breaking any laws.
Jack says that Phyllis won’t risk Jack & Diane telling Daniel or Summer about her relationship with Tucker.
Traci says Lauren wouldn’t let it happen.
Diane says they have a point.
Kyle walks downstairs and Jack stops him and tells him to make sure that he’s back in time for the reception.
Kyle winces and says, “That’s today?”
Jack says he’d better be joking.
Kyle says he is, but he has a question… Can he bring a date?
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker tells Billy he’s surprised… Billy might be more “mercenary” than he thought.
Billy says he might be offended if he cared what Tucker thought. He sits down beside Tucker and asks what he means by that.
Tucker says he’d throw Jack to the wolves if it meant he would run Jabot, but here he is working side-by-side with Jack to drive Tucker out of town. Maybe mercenary is the wrong word. Opportunistic? Self-serving?
Billy says he doesn’t have to explain himself, but he only has one objective. To protect his family and his father’s legacy.
Tucker smiles and says Billy sounds just like Ashley. He wonders whether the Abbotts are a family, or whether they’re a cult.
The Abbott Mansion
Traci’s phone rings. She answers the call and excuses herself, saying she has to handle a “napkin emergency.”
Diane asks Kyle whether he was thinking of bringing Audra to the reception as his date.
Kyle says things have cooled off between him and Audra.
Jack says it’s for the best… After all, it was going nowhere! They both know it was a tryst to avoid the pain of his breakup with Summer.
Kyle says Jack keeps saying that, but he’s wrong. He had fun with Audra, and he wishes Jack would just stop bringing it up.
Jack says he’ll try.
Diane says that he hoped Kyle would attend with Summer for Harrison’s sake so that he could see them at least pretending to get along.
Kyle says it wouldn’t be an act… They really are getting along lately.
Diane says that’s a good first step.
Kyle says it’s the only step. Nothing has changed, and he and Summer aren’t getting back together.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis asks Lauren how she could possibly blow up Jack and Diane’s party, since she won’t even be there. If she was there, she’d spend the whole time dry-heaving at the sight of Diane.
Lauren hopes Phyllis means it. She won’t be around to look over Phyllis’s shoulder… She has to Chicago on an emergency business trip.
Phyllis asks if Lauren wants her to deliver the dress.
Lauren laughs and says she’ll give her some matches and lighter fluid to go with it. Of course she’s not going to let Phyllis deliver Diane’s dress! She says Chloe will be delivering it for her, and asks how Phyllis has been other than the “reception drama.”
Phyllis says her job with Daniel isn’t finalized, so she’s not sure when she’s going to be starting.
Lauren asks if she’s happy about working with Daniel, or if she’s still pining for the job with Nick and Sharon.
Phyllis says that Daniel had told her she’d be under the microscope the whole time she was working at OmegaSphere.
Lauren says she can’t blame him. Phyllis has a long way to go with him.
Phyllis thinks Daniel is offering her the job out of pity.
Lauren says Daniel is throwing her a liferaft, and Phyllis should be grateful for that scrap after all that she’s put him and Summer through.
Chloe enters the cafe and Lauren gives her the dress to deliver to Diane.
Lauren says she has to get going to the airport and tells Chloe to keep the dress away from Phyllis.
Chloe laughs and says Lauren can count on her.
Lauren points at Phyllis and reminds her that she promised there would be no trouble.
Phyllis rolls her eyes and nods. She says goodbye to Lauren, who is followed out the door by Chloe.

The GCAC Dining Room
Billy says goodbye to Tucker and tells him not to bother crashing the festivities.
Tucker asks where the party is, and what time Billy wants him to show up.
Billy says the party is off-limits to Tucker. He’ll keep an eye out for helicopters, too.
Tucker feigns frustration.
Billy says Tucker may think he’s smarter than everyone on the planet, but only a fool would think that. He leaves the club.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis walks into the lounge and sees Danny playing a piece on the piano. She sits down and catches his eye.
Danny smiles and says hello.
Phyllis says she didn’t mean to interrupt him. She asks him to keep playing… It’s beautiful.
Danny thanks her and starts playing again.
Phyllis sips her drink as she listens.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane tells Kyle she won’t bother him about his personal life any more. She just wants him to be happy and wake up with a sense of purpose.
Jack agrees with Diane. He asks who Kyle had in mind when he mentioned bringing a date to the reception, since Audra was out of the picture.
Kyle says he’s thought about it, and decided that it’s too early to introduce Harrison to a stranger, especially at a family celebration.
Jack says he’s glad he feels that way, since they want Kyle to do something for them at the reception.
Kyle is curious what they’re asking.
Diane says they’ve decided to renew their vows, and they’d be honored if Kyle would agree to officiate.
Kyle grins widely and says he’d be honored to do that for them. They all hug.
The doorbell rings, and Kyle opens the door. It’s Chloe, who gives Diane her dress and explains that Lauren had to leave town.
Jack says he’s sorry she can’t make it, but they understand.
Chloe says she has to go and take care of her kids.
Diane opens the garment bag and looks at the dress and thanks Chloe for bringing it to her. She says it was really generous of Lauren, of all people, to let her wear a dress from her collection.
Chloe asks, “Of all people?”
Diane says that Lauren and Phyllis are close, and she’s probably not at the top of Lauren’s “let’s be friends” list.
Chloe says that Jack is at the top of the list as she elbows him in the ribs. She says Jack is one of Lauren’s favorite people in the world.
Jack tells Diane that Lauren also knows he’s head-over-heels for her.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis listens to Danny play.
Danny messes up a stanza, tries again and screws it up, and says he needs to take a break.
Phyllis says she wants to buy Danny a drink. She asks for a glass of rosé as they sit at the bar together and asks what Danny would like.
Danny says he’d better not have anything… He’s meeting Daniel for a late lunch.
Phyllis asks Danny to be honest… How much does Daniel hate her?
Danny says Daniel doesn’t hate her… He just doesn’t trust her, and he’s disappointed.
Phyllis asks if Daniel knows how hard she’s trying to turn things around.
Danny says he thinks so, but he’s struggling to be civil because of what Phyllis put him and Summer through. It makes him sad.
Phyllis says it makes her sad that she’s judged and hated by people in the town who claimed they loved her. Everyone in town has made mistakes, but nobody’s willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.
The Abbott Mansion
Billy enters the house and says hello to Jack, “the man of the hour.” He asks if everything went smoothly this morning.
Jack says everything did go well. He asks how the meeting with their new head of R&D went.
Billy says the meeting went great, and the new R&D head is very talented and will be a great asset to the company. He had a great morning until he ran into Tucker.
Jack asks why Tucker is still in town.
Billy says he doesn’t know, but Tucker made it clear he’s not leaving town any time soon. He says he’s emailing the confirmation that he returned all the funds to Jabot’s account.
Jack says he doesn’t need to see that; he trusts Billy. He laments that they didn’t see Tucker’s plan coming and can’t believe Tucker would pull a vulnerable Phyllis into his scheme.
Billy says it probably wasn’t too hard for Tucker to talk Phyllis into working with him.
Jack says he wants Billy to know that he never doubted Billy for a second when the funds disappeared from Jabot.
Billy smiles and says the funds went into his personal account; it’s only natural Jack would assume he had something to do with it.
Jack says not anymore. He reaches out his hand, and they shake.
Billy hugs Jack, and Jack hugs him back tightly.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis says everyone sees her as a person she’s not. The she-devil that chews men up and spits them out, devours souls, and ruins lives.
Danny says there are a lot of people who want to trust Phyllis and give her the benefit of the doubt. They could have walked away, but they didn’t, they’re still pulling for her… Even he is!
Phyllis asks how he can still be pulling for her after everything she did to him… The lies, seduction, drugs, and sex. Danny should feel flattered!
Danny laughs and asks why he should feel flattered.
Phyllis laughs and says there are four billiion men on earth, and he’s the one she decided to do that to, so he should be flattered.
Danny isn’t really sure how to react.
Phyllis says she’s kidding.
Danny says he’s still there, and so are Daniel and Summer. There are so many people who haven’t given up on her.
Phyllis says they’ve come close.
Danny says they just need proof instead of trusting her.
Phyllis says that sounds lovely. She doesn’t know where to start.
Danny tells her she has to start with herself and present a positive attitude instead of the “woe-is-me” posture she’s been carrying around as long as he’s known her. He says happiness comes from within.
Phyllis says Danny really is sunshine and roses. It can’t be that simple… She just has to look for the silver lining and choose her own happiness?
Danny says that’s exactly what she has to do. She needs to do it for herself instead of looking for someone else to fix it for her. She needs to start believing in herself, and people will believe in her too.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Billy that he hopes Tucker was checking out of the Athletic Club when Billy saw him.
Billy says they can’t be that lucky, but Tucker did say he was backing off his plan to come after Jabot.
Jack says he still doesn’t trust Tucker… Even if he is giving up on Jabot, why is he staying in Genoa City?
Billy says Tucker didn’t want to turn his back on Devon and Dominic, which is why he thinks they should have worked to turn Devon against Tucker.
Jack says that was the wrong move.
Billy says it was one they disagreed on.
Jack says they still do… End of discussion.
Billy agrees to disagree.
Jack says they need to make sure that Tucker doesn’t “blow up” their celebration.
Billy says Tucker claimed to know nothing about the reception, but he doesn’t believe him. He’ll be keeping an eye on Tucker.
Jack says he doesn’t want Billy doing that. He wants Billy to be part of the celebration.
Billy says he’ll enjoy keeping Tucker on the outside, and with Tucker’s flair for the dramatic, he’ll keep his eye out for helicopters, SWAT teams, and plagues of locusts.
Jack tells Billy to let the security team handle Tucker. He’s sick and tired of Tucker, and doesn’t want to put any more energy into thinking about him. Today is about love and romance! He wants it to be perfect.
Diane walks down the stairs in a flowing, peach-colored dress and Jack forgets what he was saying.
Jack shakes his head and says Diane looks like an angel. They kiss.
Billy looks uncomfortable.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis asks Danny if he’s going to finish his song.
Danny laughs and gets up. He heads to the piano and tells Phyllis to join him.
Phyllis sits beside him at the piano.
Danny starts to play as Phyllis watches.
Phyllis is really into it, and keeps looking at Danny like she’s seeing him in a new light.
Danny finally finishes the song, and says that he got it… That was the bridge he was struggling with all morning. He asks what she thinks.
Phyllis says she loves it.
Danny smiles and says he likes it too. He thanks Phyllis for inspiring him.
Phyllis thanks him for being so compassionate to her.
Danny says when someone’s down like she is, he offers a hand. He holds his hand out and Phyllis takes it, smiling.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker sits at the bar and thinks back to the last conversation he had with Audra, where he’d told her that Adam hadn’t destroyed the incriminating emails.
Audra had asked him what he was going to do now that he couldn’t go after Jabot anymore.
Tucker picks up his phone and sends Audra a message. “Need you to reignite the fire with Kyle Abbott.”
The Abbott Mansion
On the terrace, waitstaff with trays pass out drinks and appetizers.
Summer walks out and approaches Kyle and Traci.
Kyle asks Summer where Harrison is.
Summer says the nanny is taking Harrison to the park to see if she can’t get him to settle down… He’s a little overexcited.
Traci laughs and looks at Kyle pointedly as she says she can’t imagine where Harrison got that from.
Kyle says he can’t imagine either… He was a very laid-back child!
Traci laughs and asks if Summer’s buying it.
Summer says, “Not for a second.”
They all laugh together, and Jack and Diane look over.
Kyle thanks Summer for checking in on Harrison.
Chance walks onto the patio, and Kyle notices Summer looking at him with a smile, until he’s joined by Sharon, at which point Summer’s smile falters.
Summer excuses herself to get a glass of champagne.
Sharon and Chance get a glass from the waitress, and clink glasses in a toast.
Jack calls for everyone’s attention. He thanks everyone for being there, and says if there are any doubters in the crowd, they can look him and Diane in the eye and see how deeply they are in love.
Diane kisses him, and everyone applauds… Except Billy.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Phyllis asks Danny if Christine holds a special place in his heart, and he says, “Of course she does!”
Heather tells Daniel she’s decided to move back to Genoa City.
Nick tells Sally that he can’t handle Adam manipulating Sally any more… It’s clearly affecting her, and he can’t go through it again.
Tucker tells Devon that he doesn’t want any more drama in his life.
Devon says he’s happy to hear it. He has a question, though… What is Tucker’s connection to Mamie?
