This episode of The Young and The Restless airs Wednesday, November 23, 2022. In this episode, everyone gets ready for Thanksgiving, Johnny is able to talk to Chelsea about his reaction to her news about being his bio-mom, and Tessa and Mariah talk about their adoption. This recap’s episode airs one day early in Canada.
On the last episode of Y&R, Jack goes after Tucker, Lily and Daniel catch up, while Adam tries his best to convince Sally they’re made for each other.
Crimson Lights
Tessa and Mariah are at the coffee shop, prepping for Thanksgiving.
Sharon and Nick are there, and Johnny and Victoria show up to help as well.
Chelsea shows up with Connor and says that they’re there to help… They have a lot to be thankful for!
Victoria asks Nick what happened with Sharon giving Chelsea the apartment upstairs.
On the patio, Connor tells Johnny about his mother going to the hospital, and asks Johnny to just be nice to her.
Johnny says that he acted like a jerk when he found out that she was his biological mother, and he’s sorry. Connor says that Chelsea told him that her problems had nothing to do with them.
Inside, Billy and Lily show up and ask how they can help.
Lily sees Chelsea and goes to talk to her.
Johnny comes inside and speaks to Billy and Victoria. He tells them that he knows that Chelsea went to the hospital because she was depressed.
He asks his mom whether he can speak to Chelsea. She says if it’s that important, he can. Johnny heads over to see Chelsea, who was talking with Lily.
He sits down with her and apologizes that he treated her like he did after finding out about her being his bio-mom.
Chelsea thanks him and says that she’s sorry that she put him in such an awkward position, and that none of her problems was his fault. She says that she hopes they can be friends, and they hold hands, smiling.
Victoria says that she didn’t know that Chelsea was in such a fragile state, and Billy tells her that she’s much better now. Victoria asks why she’s finding out from Johnny instead of from him.
He explains that it wasn’t his story to tell, and that Sharon’s really been helping Chelsea out. He says that Adam, Lily, and Connor only found out about it yesterday.
Victoria says that it’s heavy stuff for children their age, and hopes they’ll be alright.
Billy thinks they’re handling it with maturity, and says they should follow the kids’ lead.
Lily thanks Sharon for everything she’s done for Chelsea. Sharon laughs and says that Lily has a lot of patience, dealing with Billy and how he’s been helping Chelsea lately.
Sharon asks for an update from Tessa and Mariah, asking about the baby adoption. They tell her that the adoption fell through, as the mother is giving the baby to a family member instead.
Mariah says that they knew that adoption was going to be tough, and they’re hopeful for the future.
Victoria asks Johnny how his talk with Chelsea went. He says that he’s really happy that he talked to her, that it went really well, and she told him that her depression wasn’t his fault. Victoria is happy about that.
On the patio, Billy asks Chelsea how it went, and she tells him it went really well. He invites her to come over for dinner later, and Lily walks in just as he asks.
Society
Nikki and Victor are getting ready to have a bite to eat before heading back to The Ranch.
Victor says that he’s looking forward to seeing Chance and Abby together for Thanksgiving, and Abby mentions that their relationship is having problems, so Chance won’t be there.
Devon shows up, and Abby says that she didn’t expect to see him there. She says that seeing him makes her feel calmer.
Devon asks how things are with her and Chance, and she says that it’s over between them, and that Chance have moved out of the house.
Victor says that he thought Chance was the one for Abby, and Nikki says that she’ll have to tell them about it when she’s comfortable.
Victor and Nikki get ready to leave, and Abby tells them that she’s going to have to skip dinner that evening. Nikki says that she understands, and wishes her a happy Thanksgiving.
On the way out, Tucker is just entering, and holds the door open for Nikki and Victor. Victor says that he says that everyone’s going to be happy when Tucker and Diane leave town.
Victor says that he’s got his eye on Tucker.
Tucker meets with Devon inside, and they sit down for a bite together. Tucker says that they haven’t shared a holiday together in a while.
At that moment, Nate and Elena come into the restaurant, and Nate and Devon share a look.
Elena sees that Devon is there, and suggests they go elsewhere. Nate says that it’s fine. He walks over to the table to talk to Devon and Tucker and wishes Devon a Happy Thanksgiving.
Tucker shuts Nate down quickly and tells him to leave Devon alone.
Elena and Nate sit down, and Elena says that Tucker had no reason to lay into him like that.
Devon says to Tucker that he can fight his own battles, and that Tucker didn’t need to speak up for him.
Ashley walks in, and Tucker goes to talk to her. He asks how things are with her, that she looks a little wound up. She says that she was forced to have dinner with Diane, and that “it’s time to take that bitch down.”

The Glam Club
Daniel shows up at the club, and Phyllis gushes over seeing her son. Hugs all around!
Phyllis says it’s been way too long since he was in town to visit his mother. She says that last year was terrible, that she was all alone, and she’s so happy that he’s here.
Daniel expresses surprise that she’s at the club. She laughs and says she just wants to have fun.
She asks about Lucy and Heather. He says that Heather is in portugal working as a lawyer, and took Lucy with her. Phyllis looks skeptical that he didn’t go with her.
He says that things were rocky with Heather lately, and that he doesn’t want to get into it right now.
Phyllis says that she won’t push, and that she’s there for him, and that his sister is there for him as well. She asks what his big plans are.
He says that he’s looking to channel his energies into a new direction. They clink their glasses in a toast.
Abbott Mansion
Traci is preparing the table for Thanksgiving, and Jack walks in, giving her a big smile.
In the living room, Kyle says that Harrison is upstairs making hand-print turkeys.
Jack, Ashley, Kyle, Summer, and Allie are there as well. It’s a full house!
Diane walks in, and Ashley’s not happy as she sees her. She rushes out of the room.
Traci comes in with Harrison, who’s holding up a bunch of hand-print turkeys that he was working on. Everyone laughs and claps, he’s adorable.
Harrison hands out his “masterpieces” to everyone, who is appreciative of his art.
Ashley snipes at Diane, saying something about how mothers should treat their children.
Jack quickly interrupts, deflecting by saying that Billy has just texted and said, “Don’t let that bird get cold!”
They all sit down at the table, and Jack asks everyone to say what they’re thankful for.
Ashley: “I’m happy for our family and how unified we are.”
Traci: “So blessed for you lovely people who support and love me every day.”
Allie: “I’m so thankful for finding wonderful family like you after losing my dad.”
Kyle: “I’m thankful for Summer and Harrison!”
Summer: “Kyle and Harrison!”
Harrison: “Mashed Potatoes!”
Diane: “I’m thankful for Kyle and Harrison, and to be able to be reunited with him… And being allowed as part of the family.”
Jack says to Ashley under his breath that there was to be no conflict today. Ashley says that Diane shouldn’t get too comfortable there at the table. Ashley leaves the table, and the house.
Jack proposes a toast to family, and to many more times together.
Next Week on Young and Restless
Diane says that she’s so touched that Jack would stand up for her.
Victor asks what Chance, “What did you do to my daughter?”
Daniel tells Summer that he’s going in a new direction in his life, and that he wants to work at Chancellor-Winters.
