Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Sharon envisioned a future without Chance and decided to turn her dream into reality.
Newman Media
Victor and Nikki go into the Newman Media offices. Victor starts looking through Nikki’s desk.
Nikki asks what Victor is doing… Is he checking up on her and trying to find if she’s hidden alcohol in her desk?
Victor says he’s just looking for a pen. He remembered the name of a company that they acquired and wants to jot down the name.
Nikki says he drove her to work and accompanied her to the office, but he doesn’t have to worry about her; she’s doing better every day.
Victor says he’s proud of her. He suggests they go for lunch… Not to keep tabs on her, but because he enjoys her company.
Nikki says she needs to check her schedule. She says she misses that about Claire… She was an excellent assistant.
Victor says they’ll need to find her a new, better assistant.
Nikki says they need to make sure to find an assistant who’s not out to kill her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack walks into the living room and puts on his suit jacket, preparing for work. He says good morning to Ashley, who’s sitting on the living room, deep in thought.
Ashley says she’s looking for news articles about Glissade and Tucker. She figures Tucker put his PR team in “damage control mode” and wonders what kind of spin he’s trying to put on the news.
Jack says he hasn’t seen anything yet; maybe Tucker is going to handle it out of the public eye.
Kyle walks in and says Tucker might go for a private counterattack.
Ashley thinks Tucker’s laying low… There’s no public response at all to the news blitz.
Jack wonders if Tucker’s in retreat or whether this is the calm before the storm.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Audra meets Tucker in the club lobby. She says she’s been sending him texts all night but never received a response. She thinks he’s avoiding her.
Tucker says he wasn’t avoiding her… He just doesn’t have an answer for her; he’s regrouping.
Audra thinks he’s bluffing and doesn’t have a plan. She thinks the Abbotts have knocked him off his game and he’s too humiliated to admit it to her.
Tucker says she can buy him breakfast and he’ll fill her in… Heads have already rolled!
Newman Media
Victor tells Nikki not to forget about lunch. He’s going to meet with Nicholas and Adam.
Nikki hopes Nick and Adam live up to his expectations this time… Especially Adam! She couldn’t bear it if Victor were disappointed again.
Victor grins and says he hopes so too. He thinks he has a solution incentivizing them to do what he wants. He kisses Nikki and leaves the office.
Nikki closes the door behind him. She sits down at her desk and goes through the drawer, finding an alcohol flask that Victor had missed in his search.
Nikki unscrews the flask, ready to drink, when she has second thoughts. She closes the flask and puts it back in her desk drawer.
She takes her phone from her purse and makes a phone call to her sponsor. She says she’s having a hard time and asks to meet.
Newman Enterprises
Adam pours a drink and asks Nick if he knows what their meeting with Victor is about.
Nick figures it’s about Victoria’s leave of absence. With Nate gone, they’re short-handed. Maybe Victor is bringing someone else into the company to fill the position.
Adam doubts it. He thinks Victor wants them to work together.
Nick doesn’t think that’s possible. He says they could try to make it work to keep Victor happy, but Adam will get bored or feel snubbed, and he’ll self-destruct… Again.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle says Tucker might be holding off for now, but he will want to hit back twice as hard.
Ashley says the whole world knows that Tucker covered up an ugly scandal… It has to affect Glissade; the board members will want Tucker’s head on a spike.
Jack hopes Tucker will disappear and lick his wounds on a far-away mountaintop.
Kyle says there’s no way Tucker will give in… He’s too determined and is still out for blood after what happened in Paris.
Ashley flashes back to Tucker breaking a glass and tossing a chair at the Paris diner.
Jack sees the look on Ashley’s face and asks if everything is okay.
Ashley says she’s not over the fight in Paris… She keeps seeing Tucker and his anger.
Kyle says he’s sorry he mentioned it.
Ashley tells him not to apologize. They can’t pretend it didn’t happen, even though Tucker is.
Jack thinks Tucker can’t take responsibility for his actions. He hates that it’s still bothering Ashley.
Ashley says she’s trying not to dwell on it, but every time she sees Tucker, she can’t help but think of his rage.
The GCAC Dining Room
Audra tells Tucker she imagines that the Glissade board isn’t happy about the news that he covered up his artist’s crimes.
Tucker reminds her she was a part of the cover-up as well.
Audra says her name wasn’t in the article.
Tucker scoffs and says it was a cover-up of a cover-up.
Audra hopes that’s not the defense Tucker’s spin doctors have come up with.
Tucker says there will be no defense, no PR countermove!
Audra asks if his strategy is to let the news die out.
Tucker nods. They’ll lay low and regroup. He says people have no attention span anymore and will move on to the next scandal in a couple of days.
Audra says the Glissade people won’t forget and forgive so easily.
Tucker says they’re angry and disgusted with him.
Audra asks if Glissade has decided to get rid of Tucker.
Tucker shakes his head and says he’s going to do the opposite… He’s going to fire all of the Glissade board and employees.
Audra is surprised; Tucker’s going down with the ship but throwing everyone overboard first!
Tucker says he has no intention of walking away because of a “hiccup.”
Audra thinks it’s more than a hiccup; it’s more like a death rattle.
Tucker says he can find new board members and surround himself with people willing to look past his mistakes. He says the Abbotts haven’t defeated him; they haven’t won.
Audra asks if Tucker is still going after Jabot since he’s not giving up on Glissade. What is Tucker going to do with the information that Kyle has about Jabot’s new product line?
Tucker says he has no use for Kyle unless Kyle convinces him he’s not setting up another trap for the Abbotts. Tucker will use his “secret weapon” to figure out where Kyle stands on the matter.
Audra says she already knows the answer to that… Kyle has been playing Tucker all along, just like Tucker suspected. Whatever product “secrets” Kyle brings to Tucker is just another setup.
Newman Enterprises
Adam tells Nick that he might have blown things up in the past, but he’s made resolutions that in 2024, there will be no self-destruction.
Nick snorts. He says he’s heard all about the new and improved Adam Newman, but he’s never met him.
Adam holds out his hand. “Adam Newman. Nice to meet you.”
Nick doesn’t buy it.
Adam says they’re both capable of putting aside their hostility and working together. They did it to help Faith and Sally, and they worked well together with Sharon at SNA.
Nick says those are outliers when it comes to Adam’s history of betrayals. He reminds Adam that he continued to chase after Sally even after she’d chosen Nick.
Victor enters the office and greets his sons. He sits down and says it’s been a difficult time for Newman Enterprises after the corporate turmoil and the assaults on their family. He says it’s time to start anew.
Nick says with Victoria gone, he’s expecting there to be some changes.
Victor says they don’t know how long Victoria will be gone, so he’s making all the decisions.
Adam says he and Nick are ready to help however they’re needed.
Victor says it warms his heart to see both of them. He’s proud of them, and they’re going to work alongside him.
Nick says he’s ready to step into the co-CEO role if that’s what Victor wants.
Adam hopes that part of his duties won’t include picking up Nick’s laundry.
Victor says he has bigger plans than that.
Society
Nikki takes a seat and pulls out her phone. She messages Victor that she’ll meet him at Society in an hour.
Nikki’s sponsor, Seth, arrives and joins her at the table. He asks her to tell him what’s happening with her.
Nikki says she’s having a hard time putting the horrors her family went through behind her.
Seth says being forced off the wagon by Jordan was an assault… It was worse than a physical attack.
Nikki says the alcohol doesn’t know the difference.
Seth says Jordan unleashed Nikki’s inner demons, and Nikki must be furious about how Jordan triggered her.
Nikki says her rage makes the urge to drink stronger, but she’s trying to fight it with every bit of strength she has.
Seth gets it. He says he’s seen her at meetings and called her and left messages… He wonders why it’s taken her so long for her to call her sponsor.
Newman Enterprises
Nick asks Victor not to keep them in suspense… What’s the big plan?
Victor says they’ll be working as equals under him. They’ll both be co-CEOs, and neither one of them will outrank the other.
Nick asks what happens if they don’t agree to it.
Victor hopes that won’t be the case, but if it is, he’ll make the final decision. He asks if they can handle it or whether they’ll be at each other’s throats before they even get started.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells Jack that Ashley’s having a rougher time than he thought.
Jack says Ashley and Tucker’s fight in Paris was more than just a lover’s quarrel; she was shaken to the core.
Kyle wonders if Ashley is having second thoughts about destroying Tucker.
Jack doesn’t think so, but he’s concerned about her emotional well-being. He thinks they have to continue with their plan to get Tucker out of their lives for good. They need to finish the job!
Kyle agrees. He explains that he’s told Tucker about their new fragrance set to launch in 2025, but Tucker’s not sure he wants to continue trying to take over Jabot since Jack released the damning information on him. He says Tucker wants Kyle to give him the information before he makes a decision.
Jack thinks Tucker wants Kyle to change the terms of their agreement.
Kyle nods. He isn’t playing that game; he told Tucker to let him know if he wants to continue with their original plan. The ball is in Tucker’s court.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker asks Audra how she came to her conclusions about Kyle.
Audra says Kyle confessed to her.
Tucker looks confused. “When?”
Audra says the timing doesn’t matter, but Kyle tried to get her to join him on “the winning side.” She was tempted because Tucker hasn’t told her much about his plan. Even though Tucker is frustrating, she knows he’ll come out on top, and she’s invested too much in their partnership to give up now.
Tucker scoffs. He says she’ll have to do better than that.
Audra says she has more of a connection to Tucker than she’ll ever have with Kyle. She knows Tucker thinks she’s fallen for Kyle, but she hasn’t. Her loyalties lie with Tucker. Their relationship may be twisted and fickle, but it’s the strongest connection she’s had with anyone. If there’s a choice between Kyle and Tucker, it’s always going to be Tucker.
Tucker’s happy to hear it.
Ashley enters the lobby and spots Audra and Tucker talking.

Society
Nikki tells Seth she should have reached out to him sooner.
Seth says he’s not trying to make her feel guilty; the disease does enough of that already! He just wants her to know that he’s there for her… A sponsor’s job is to help her, and he feels like she’s been avoiding him. They both know that’s a sign.
Nikki says it’s a sign of white-knuckling and trying to go at it alone. She says it works some days but not all the time.
Seth says today’s not one of those days.
Nikki says her family’s been supportive. Victor always checks in on him and rarely leaves her side. He was “hovering” over her today, and she caught him going through her desk drawer, saying he needed a pen, but she knows he was looking for booze.
Seth asks if Victor found what he was looking for.
Nikki says he didn’t.
Seth wonders if he didn’t find the booze because it wasn’t there, or whether he didn’t find it because Nikki had hidden it well.
Nikki says Seth knows her too well.
Seth says he doesn’t know her… He knows the disease! He’s fallen many times and he didn’t need people to force it on him; he was good at doing that by himself. He asks what Victor didn’t find.
Nikki says she’d hidden her “office flask,” but it was empty… She swears!
Seth says lying to him won’t help her.
Nikki says she’s been keeping the flask as a test to herself so she can prove that alcohol doesn’t control her anymore.
Seth asks if that’s really the reason she keeps the flask around… Or is that just an excuse she’s telling herself?
Nikki says talking to someone who doesn’t judge her is a relief. She says Victor thinks she’s the strongest woman in the world.
Seth winces and says that’s a lot to live up to.
Nikki says Victor has saved her many times in the past; she owes him her life!
Seth says giving someone in her family so much power over her is dangerous. She can’t do this for Victor or her children; she needs to do this for herself!
Nikki thanks him for reminding her.
Seth says she doesn’t have to white-knuckle it; that’s what sponsors are for, and she can call him any time… Day or night.
Nikki thanks him. She says she’s gotten through this many times, but this time it’s different… It’s harder.
Seth tells her to listen to him… She doesn’t have to face this alone.
Newman Enterprises
Adam tells Victor he’s committed to making it work, but he’s not sure Nick feels the same way.
Nick says he’ll do his best to give Adam the benefit of the doubt but hopes Adam won’t do anything to make him regret his decision.
Victor says that’s a start; he hopes they can build on it. He has a task for them both. He wants them to create a presentation showing how they can fold their new acquisition into the Newman corporate structure. He says there’s a meeting about it this afternoon.
Adam says he can reschedule the meeting for later this week.
Victor says they won’t reschedule. He wants them to come up with the presentation and he’ll review it after lunch.
Adam says he’ll get to work on it. He gets up to leave.
Nick says he’ll catch up with Adam later. He needs to talk to Victor about a personal matter.
Adam leaves and closes the door behind him.
Nick asks Victor if he’s seriously expecting this to work. He asks what happens when Victoria comes back… Will Nick and Adam be demoted to COOs? Will one of them stay on as Victoria’s second-in-command?
Victor says he’s thought it through. Nick’s task is to get along with his brother; that’s all.
Nick promises to do his best but wants Victor to know that he’s only doing it for his father… Not for Adam.
Victor appreciates it.
Nick says he hopes Adam won’t let Victor down again.
Victor says that’s not an option for Adam or Nick.
The GCAC Dining Room
Ashley takes a seat at a table as Tucker watches her.
Tucker tells Audra that Ashley said something to him the other day that he can’t get off his mind… He says Ashley accused him of getting physically violent with her during their fight in Paris; she said he’d smashed a wine glass and threw a chair.
Audra says it doesn’t sound like something he’d do, but Ashley gets to him like nobody else. She says it sounds like he caused a scene.
Tucker says it was a bit of a scene… He says he stormed off, tipped a wine glass over and pushed a chair out of his way, but it wasn’t violent.
Audra says it obviously scared Ashley. She wonders if Ashley is exaggerating things for effect.
Tucker doesn’t think so; he knows when Ashley’s playing games, but she genuinely seems to remember it that way.
Audra wonders if Tucker is the one refusing to admit it happened because he’s hoping on some level that things didn’t get too ugly between them and he wants to hope there’s a way to salvage his marriage.
Tucker thinks back to his fight with Ashley. He doesn’t remember being violent with her at all.
Ashley remembers it differently. She remembers him smashing a wine glass, throwing his chair across the room, and he yelled at her, telling her to go to hell. Ashley gets up and leaves.
Tucker sees Ashley leaving. He jumps up and follows her, asking her to talk with him. He takes her arm in the lobby.
Ashley tells him not to touch her. She has nothing to say to him!
Tucker asks what’s happening… Is she running away because he’s in the room with her?
Ashley says that’s right.
Tucker asks how they got to this point; is she afraid to be around him, even in public?
Crimson Lights
Nick and Adam sit down for coffee and to discuss ideas about the Newman acquisition.
Adam says it’s a strong company with great leadership, and he thinks it’s undervalued. They should bring it into their real estate division, brand it as a boutique shop, and let it shine.
Nick doesn’t think they can bring a startup company into the Newman fold and expect it to be welcomed with open arms.
Adam says the company has accomplished a lot of great things. It’s innovative.
Nick says he would have gone with “risky” instead.
Adam says they’re shaking things up.
Nick says people might argue it’s destabilizing.
Adam asks why they’d acquire the new company if Nick doesn’t believe in them.
Nick says he didn’t want to, but Victor was pushing for it.
Adam wonders if Nick is talking about the acquisition or whether he’s talking about his feelings about Adam.
Nick says his feelings on both matters are “strangely similar.”
Adam says Nick promised their father that he’d give Adam a chance, but if this is how Nick is going to play it, they’re doomed.
Nick thinks they should each do a presentation and may the best man win.
Adam says they’re five minutes into their partnership, and already Nick has decided to run to their father and let him decide who’s winning.
Nick rolls his eyes. He apologizes and admits Adam is right; Nick’s not even trying. He says it’s not fair or productive.
Adam smiles and asks Nick to take the “giant chip” off his shoulder so they can at least pretend to get along.
Society
Nikki tells Seth he’s right; she has been avoiding him. She says she relied on close friends in the past to help support her recovery.
Seth says friends are great, but sponsors are a different animal.
Nikki knows. She says she waited so long to contact him because she missed her friends… They used to help her, but they’ve both passed on. She worried that she wouldn’t be able to go through it without them.
Victor approaches the table and says hello. He looks at Seth and says he didn’t know she was meeting with anyone.
Nikki introduces him to Seth.
Seth shakes Victor’s hand and says he’s Nikki’s AA sponsor.
Victor says she’s never mentioned him before.
Seth says Nikki takes anonymity very seriously… What’s said in a meeting stays in a meeting.
Victor hopes that applies to Seth as well.
Nikki says Seth is very discreet.
Seth says being a sponsor is a great responsibility and is humbling. He tries to help where possible but believes he should let others learn from their mistakes. He says it’s progress, not perfection.
Victor nods. He says he doesn’t foresee Nikki having any missteps.
Nikki smiles brightly, but there’s doubt behind her eyes.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells his dad that he left it up to Tucker to reach out, but doesn’t think Tucker holds all the cards.
Jack tells Kyle to follow up with Tucker and put some pressure on him to make a decision. They need to know if Tucker is going to go along with Kyle so they can plan accordingly.
Kyle messages Tucker. “Made your decision yet? Clock is ticking.” He says that’ll shake an answer out of him; Tucker doesn’t like being pushed.
Jack says Tucker might be hesitant because he’s seen through Kyle’s ruse.
Kyle is upset. Doesn’t Jack believe he’s capable of fooling Tucker?
Jack tells him it’s not about Kyle… They made a major move against a very powerful man, and he thinks of Kyle as an Abbott. He doesn’t like to admit it, but Tucker is cunning and insightful, but he’s also a sociopath… And that’s a dangerous combination.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker’s phone pings with a notification while he’s away talking to Ashley.
Audra picks up Tucker’s phone and reads the message from Kyle asking whether Tucker has made up his mind yet.
Society
Victor says he won’t interrupt Seth and Nikki… They must have more important things to discuss.
Seth says he thinks they covered everything, and he was just leaving.
Nikki nods. She thanks Seth for talking to her, saying it’s been very helpful.
Seth shakes Victor’s hand and says it’s nice to meet him. He says he’s a big fan of Victor’s wife.
Victor smiles and says it was nice to meet him as well.
Seth leaves the restaurant, and Victor joins his wife at the table.
Victor asks Nikki why she never mentioned Seth before.
Nikki says anonymity is important in AA, and he’s been her sponsor for a while. She feels comfortable with Seth and trusts him but hasn’t felt the need to reach out to him since things were going so well… Until recent events.
Victor says she assured him everything was alright but decided to meet with her sponsor… What happened?
Nikki asks if he’s accusing her of something.
Victor says he adores her, but he doesn’t think she’s been honest with him; is she struggling more than she’s let on?
Crimson Lights
Nick buys Adam a coffee and says if they come up with anything good, he’ll throw in a brownie.
Adam smirks.
They discuss a name for the new company’s division; names come up like “Newman E. Ventures,” “Newman Real Ventures,” or just “Real Ventures.”
Adam says normally, when they fold a new company into Newman, they cut staff to save money, but what if they guaranteed two years for everyone in the boutique setup?
Nick says maintaining the staff over two years would be a significant cost.
Adam says it could be thought of as an investment into the company they sought out.
Nick nods… They could let the company shine and show what they can do.
Adam says they’d lead with trust.
Nick likes the idea. It seems he owes Adam a brownie!
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle tells his father he’s fooled Tucker… There’s no need to worry!
Jack says they need to keep their guard up. Kyle needs to allow for the fact that Tucker might be onto him.
Kyle doesn’t think Tucker knows Kyle is working for the Abbotts. He thinks they have Tucker backed into a corner. He says Tucker is rattled about losing Ashley, and they’ve landed a crippling blow with the smear campaign.
Jack says that makes Tucker even more dangerous; he’s looking for a way to lash out at them.
Kyle says Jack needs to let him handle this; they’ll be able to be done with Tucker McCall once and for all!
The GCAC Lobby
Tucker asks Ashley if she’s convinced herself that he was violent to her in Paris.
Ashley tells him not to gaslight her… That’s exactly what happened, and he knows it!
Tucker says that’s not what happened; at the very least, she’s misremembering.
Ashley says she knows what he’s doing… He’s trying to minimize his rage and his actions to let himself off the hook.
Tucker says it’s not true.
Ashley says one of them is wrong, and it’s not her. She leaves the club.
