Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Sally and Audra bonded, Ashley got a rise out of Tucker, and Lily confronted Devon before breaking down.
Newman Ranch
Claire is incredulous that Victor didn’t tell anyone his plans and went to “make business calls” the night before when he was really “taking care” of Jordan.
Victoria says that’s the way Victor is. Nobody can force him what to do!
Claire is incredulous that Victor confronted an armed Jordan in an alley and had the guts to offer himself up as her hostage.
Victoria’s thankful that Nick showed up and tased her… Who knows what she would have done!
Claire says at least Jordan is locked up in the dungeon meant for Victor.
Victoria says it’s poetic justice.
Claire says she’s not sure how to feel about it. She’s relieved Victor is okay, but she wonders if Victor will leave Jordan locked up indefinitely, or whether he’ll call the authorities to take her into custody.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle and Summer finish an interview with a would-be nanny. After the nanny leaves, Kyle tells Summer they’ll have to cross her off their list… Harrison barely acknowledged her existence.
Summer wishes they knew when Linda (their nanny who left) was coming back.
Kyle says that they shouldn’t expect her back anytime soon; her mother’s surgery will probably keep her away for a while.
Summer wonders what they should do; should they keep having the agency send over potential nannies? She says that Harrison keeps asking when “mommy is coming home.”
Crimson Lights
Sally apologizes to Audra for telling her to fight harder for what she has; she has a tendency to blurt things out!
Audra says it’s fine… Sally seems to have done her share of fighting for relationships, and Audra appreciates her take on how to handle the “mess” she’s going through with Tucker.
Sally hopes her advice helps. She laughs, saying she finds it hilarious that she’s giving relationship advice.
Audra says she’s normally decisive, but she keeps waffling between fighting for Tucker or walking away.
Sally gets it. She says if Audra has a month to spare, she can give her the whole Adam vs Nick story.
Audra laughs; she looks forward to hearing it! She says Sally’s advice was what she needed to hear, and she thanks her for listening.
Sally smiles. “Anytime!”
Audra says that goes for her, too.
Adam walks into the cafe and says hello. He’s surprised to see Sally and Audra together; he didn’t know they knew each other.
Sally says they’ve met, but they’ve never had a conversation.
Audra says it turns out that it was long overdue.
Adam raises an eyebrow and asks why.
Sally says she and Audra have a lot in common.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Ashley smooches Tucker, but he pulls away, saying, “No. No!” Ashley asks what’s wrong.
Tucker says this isn’t working.
Ashley disagrees; she says the kiss worked pretty good from her point of view, and she thinks it was working quite well for him, too.
Tucker asks what’s going on with her.
Ashley throws her arms around him and asks if he wants her to clarify.
Tucker pushes her away and says that no matter how he looks at it, it’s problematic.
Ashley asks where the downside is… She can’t see one!
Tucker says he won’t fall for whatever she’s trying to set him up for, but if she’s going through something emotional or psychological, he’d feel remiss if he didn’t try to help her, but she’d have to be honest with him first.
Ashley rolls her eyes. “Oh boy.” She thinks there’s a third option… She’s been trying to give him what he’s wanted all along. She flutters her eyelashes at him.
Tucker shakes his head. “No.” He says he’s sorry, but he can’t believe her. She’s either lying to him or lying to herself.
Ashley gets indignant and says she’s not lying to herself.
Tucker says she is. He removes her hand from his leg and says he can’t help her if she lies to either of them. He gets up and leaves.
Ashley takes a drink and suddenly holds her head, looking confused.
Crimson Lights
Adam takes a seat with Sally and Audra. He says he’s not surprised they have a lot in common; they’re both high-powered businesswomen who were fired from Newman Media and did nothing to deserve it. He can see why they’re bonding over it.
Sally says she and Audra are both involved with “complicated” men who aren’t very popular or appreciated around Genoa City.
Adam says he’s not comfortable being compared to Tucker McCall.
Audra says she wasn’t trying to insult him; she was just saying they’re both… Complicated.
Adam can’t argue with that, but after going head-to-head with Tucker, he thinks he and Tucker are “different animals.”
Sally says she and Audra were in the middle of bonding, so…
Adam nods. He says he doesn’t want to interfere… Forget what he said!
Audra says she has to head back to the Athletic Club. She says goodbye to Adam and thanks Sally for her advice.
Sally tells Audra to keep her updated.
Audra says she will. She leaves the coffee shop.
Adam asks Sally what advice she gave Audra.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle thinks Harrison might be planning to reject every nanny that comes along so Summer will move back home.
Summer agrees; that’s definitely Harrison’s plan, but they can’t let their child dictate things!
Kyle nods. He says it’s not the first time Harrison’s talked about Summer coming home, but when he does, Kyle reassures him that his parents love him, even if they don’t live together. He told Harrison that even if Summer were to move home, she still has a busy career just like his dad does, and they need someone to pick him up from school and be there for him while they’re working.
Summer says moving back to the Abbott household isn’t an option for her, and Harrison will resist any new nannies they bring in.
Kyle reminds Summer it took a while for Harrison to warm up to Linda because “she had boring socks,” but he loves her now. They have to make Harrison know it’s their choice; not his.
Summer says it should be easy since they’ve met some great candidates already, but Harrison is going to spend time with them, so they should give him a vote in the process.
Kyle says Harrison needs to know that he can’t reject a nanny for wearing boring socks.
They laugh.
Harrison calls for his mom, and they rush up the stairs and bring Harrison into the living room.
Summer and Kyle ask Harrison if he had a bad dream.
Harrison nods. He says a lady he didn’t know came and took him away.
Summer says that sounds scary, but it’s just a bad dream, and he’s safe and always will be.
Kyle says they’d never let anyone take him away from them.
Summer asks if he had the dream because Linda is gone and they have to find him a new sitter.
Harrison nods. He says that if Summer can’t stay at the house, he wants Linda back; he won’t accept anyone else.
Kyle says he knows three things that will make it all better. First, they don’t talk about Linda. Secondly, they should go to the book store, because there’s a new book about… He looks to Summer for guidance.
Summer says it’s a book about the kid who “time jumps.” She can’t wait to read it with Harrison!
Kyle grins and says the third thing is that all three of them will go to Crimson Lights to get some hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.
Harrison grins; he’s happy!
Newman Ranch
Victoria tells Claire that Victor is tough; he’s not cruel. He wouldn’t leave anyone to rot in a “godforsaken basement,” even if he thought they deserved it.
Claire says Victor really would do anything for them.
Victoria nods. She says Victor will do whatever it takes to protect his family, which now includes his granddaughter, Claire.
Claire smiles. She says, “Nikki and Victor Newman’s granddaughter,” like she’s trying the words on for size. She can’t believe she has parents, uncles, and cousins. She wonders if they’re safe now that Jordan isn’t “creeping around” anymore.
Victoria says they are safe. There’s nothing that Jordan can do to hurt anyone! They were scared for so long, but now it’s over. She laughs, saying it’s unbelievable.
Claire says they can come and go as they please now and don’t have to freak out if they hear a strange noise in the house and keep looking over their shoulders.
Victoria smiles. Exactly!
Claire wonders if they could go somewhere… It doesn’t have to be anywhere fancy, but she’s got cabin fever. She says she’s lived under a dark cloud her whole life, and she wants to experience what it’s like to be free.
Victoria smiles and says she thinks it’s a great idea.
Claire is over the moon about it.
Crimson Lights
Sally tells Adam it was a nice surprise to talk with Audra; she might have found a new friend, and she’s happy since she doesn’t have many friends!
Adam tells her to “proceed with caution” where Audra Charles is concerned.
Sally asks if he realizes who he’s talking to; if she proceeded with caution…
Adam finishes her sentence, “We wouldn’t be together.”
Sally asks why she should proceed with caution around Audra… She likes her!
Adam says Audra probably isn’t his biggest fan; he was the one who passed along the incriminating emails the Abbotts used to hit Tucker, and Audra could have ended up as collateral damage in that.
Sally asks what that has to do with her being friends with Audra.
Adam says Audra might have an agenda. He tells her to be careful about sharing information that Audra might be probing for… Anything she hears about Adam from Sally will go straight into Tucker’s ear.
Sally nods; she’ll be careful. She tells Adam not to sell Audra short; Audra is savvy and can recognize a well-played business move when she sees it. For all she knows, Audra respects Adam for releasing the emails to the Abbotts when they thought Jabot was under attack, and Sally didn’t get the sense that Audra was seeking any payback.
Adam nods. He asks what the advice was that Audra thanked Sally for on her way out.
Sally says it was personal and was about a relationship issue that Audra was dealing with… It had nothing to do with Adam, as surprising as that may be.
Adam is happy they’ve straightened the matter out, and he wants to change the subject. He says he’s tracked Sally down for a reason.
Sally asks if it’s about Victor.
Adam says it’s not, but he’s happy to report his dad is home and safe.
Sally thinks that’s great; Adam has been worried about his father!
Adam says it’s a relief that he doesn’t have to worry… Until the next time something happens with his father.
Sally asks about Connor.
Adam says he and Chelsea have a session with Dr. Alcott later that day; he wanted to let Sally know before he left.
Sally says it’s a lot but hopes that means that Connor is making progress. Maybe it’ll make Adam feel better about it.
Adam shrugs. He says he and Chelsea feel pretty hopeless, and Connor is confused.
Sally says Adam’s doing the right things. Adam didn’t have the help he needed as a child and it changed his whole life. She says he’s being the best parent he can be.
The Genoa City Athletic Club (GCAC)
Tucker sits down at the bar and orders a double bourbon, neat.
Ashley walks into the lobby and looks at him with a flirty look on her face.
Audra enters the club.
Ashley turns around and sees Audra. “You again.” She tells Audra to give up; she doesn’t have a chance. She whispers she has Tucker right where she wants him. She leaves the club.
Audra walks over to Tucker, who asks her what Ashley said. Audra says Ashley told him she has him right where she wants him. She asks what would make Ashley think that.
Tucker sighs and rubs his face. He says Ashley kissed him again, and she thinks it meant something. He says whatever is going on with Ashley is not good.
Audra asks him to tell the truth; did he return the kiss?
Tucker says he pulled back and told Ashley it’s not happening… And it’s not.
Audra asks if he’s sure about it.
Tucker says he’s sure. He tries to take her hand, but she pushes it away. He says he doesn’t want to have this conversation right now… They’ve talked about Ashley more times than he can count, and everything she does feeds Audra’s suspicions.
Audra says it’s because everything Ashley does is suspicious. What’s she supposed to do?
Tucker tells her to ignore Ashley.
Audra scoffs. Like Tucker is ignoring her? She says she walked through the door and Ashley was in her face.
Tucker says he’s sorry and apologizes for what he’d said earlier in her suite. He didn’t mean what he said and shouldn’t have stormed out of the room.
Audra says that Ashley would be the furthest thing from Tucker’s mind if they were on a jet to Paris, but instead, they’re at the club, and Audra’s getting blindsided by Tucker’s ex-wife, who looks awfully pleased with herself.
Tucker nods.
Audra asks Tucker what Ashley said to him before “that damn kiss.”
Tucker says it doesn’t matter what Ashley says or does in her state. It means nothing, and he’s trying hard to let it go… He wants Audra to let it go, too.
Audra says she’ll let it go if Ashley lets it go, but she doesn’t know how to react when Tucker’s ex-wife tells her that she doesn’t stand a chance and that she has Tucker right where she wants him.
Tucker says they need to look at the big picture. He thinks Ashley is suffering from a severe psychological break and needs help; she’s not herself.
Crimson Lights
Adam tells Sally he’s not sure if there’s a solution for what Connor is going through. He feels very overwhelmed when he reads about OCD, and apparently, very few professionals even know what it is, and it can go unrecognized for years.
Sally says it’s a good thing that it was spotted early.
Adam nods. He’s grateful for it, assuming it makes a difference.
Sally tells him an early diagnosis can make a big difference.
Adam hopes so. He looks at the time and says he has to get going; he’s getting some comfort items that Connor asked for, and he wants to get them to him before their session.
Sally asks him to keep her updated and tells him that he needs to stay positive; Connor is a good kid and has a great dad who’s doing what he can to help him.
Adam nods and thanks her for being there and supporting him. They kiss, and Adam says he loves that she’s back in his life.
Sally says she meant what she said earlier… It wasn’t a slip of the tongue; she really does love him.
Adam says he loves her, too. They kiss again.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley enters the house and tosses her coat on a chair before pouring herself a glass of water. She smiles as she thinks back to kissing Tucker.
A voice in her head says it doesn’t like this… They shouldn’t trust her!
“Ashley” says they don’t really have a choice.
A voice screams out that she has to be stopped. Ashley is startled and drops her glass. She holds her head, trying to shut the voices out.
A voice says she needs to take over.
The GCAC Dining Room
Audra tells Tucker that the “perfect poised” woman who seems so sure of herself and verbally assaulted her doesn’t seem to be the psychological wreck Tucker thinks she is. She says the performance Ashley is putting on is meant to reel Tucker back in.
Tucker says he’s not a sucker who’s going to be reeled in. He can read Ashley like a book, and even though she may be able to hide it in public, she needs professional help.
Audra says Tucker’s not qualified to diagnose Ashley… What makes him so sure she needs psychological help? Was it based on the look he saw in her eyes, or what?
Tucker nods. He says the look in Ashley’s eyes and the way she’s been acting tells him everything… The way she misremembered the incident in Paris was only the beginning; she’s not the woman he fell in love with.
Audra buries her head in her hands. “Oh my God.”
Tucker says that was past tense.
Audra says she can’t believe she allowed herself to get in a vulnerable position with Tucker again… What’s she doing?
Tucker says he adores her and wants the world with her, and what’s going on with Ashley is a completely separate issue!
Crimson Lights
Summer, Harrison, and Kyle enter the coffee shop. Summer and Harrison have a seat while Kyle orders.
Victoria and Claire walk into the cafe through the patio entrance. Victoria asks Claire how she’s doing; is she ready for this?
Claire says she’s as ready as she can be; it’s weird being out in the world like a normal person!
Victoria says Claire is a normal person, and if she feels more comfortable elsewhere, they can leave.
Claire says she used to come to Crimson Lights when she worked for Nikki and was “pretending to be normal,” and she likes the coffee shop. She says nobody’s staring at her… It’s kind of exhilarating!
Victoria sees that Kyle, Harrison, and Summer are there. She asks Claire if she’d like to say hello to one of her new family members.
Claire is excited. She and Victoria walk into the main sitting area.
Victoria says hi to Summer, and they hug. Victoria introduces Summer to Claire and tells Claire that Summer is Nick’s daughter.
Summer is amazed. She’d heard some of the story from her dad and read in the paper that Victoria and Cole’s daughter was alive, but this… Wow!
Victoria grins and says it’s a miracle.
Summer says it must be pretty overwhelming for Claire.
Claire nods. It’s a lot to take in, but she was just saying to Victoria… She corrects herself. “Mom.” She says that things feel normal if that makes sense.
Summer says it makes perfect sense… If there’s anything normal about being a Newman.
They all laugh.
Summer welcomes her “cuz” to the family.
Claire laughs. “Thanks, cuz!”
Summer introduces Harrison as her stepson and apologizes that he’s not in the best mood today.
Claire says hello and says she doesn’t mind… She has those type of days all the time. She asks what he’s drawing… Is that a squirrel?
Harrison doesn’t say anything and continues to draw.
Claire tells him a joke. “How do you get a squirrel to like you? You act like a nut!”
Harrison laughs.
Summer says Harrison likes squirrels and ducks.
Claire says it’s too bad the ducks are gone now because they’ve flown south for the winter, but they’ll be back soon. She asks Harrison if he knows why they fly south.
Harrison doesn’t know.
Claire says it’s too far to walk.
Harrison grins.
Victoria asks where Claire’s getting her jokes.
Claire says there were some great books in the kids’ ward, and she has a million knock-knock jokes, too.
Summer says Claire will get along with her dad; he’s the king of stupid dad jokes!
Claire’s surprised that Nick has a silly streak; she had no idea!
Victoria laughs and says Claire should see Nick dance… Oof.
Claire promises Harrison she’ll have a ton of jokes for him when she sees him again.
Victoria grins and tells Claire she really does have a way with children.
Kyle comes over with a tray full of hot chocolate mugs. He asks where Harrison’s scowl went.
Harrison stares at Claire with a big smile on his face. He says Claire is funny.
Kyle introduces himself to Claire and says he’s happy to meet a stranger who makes his son smile.
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker tells Audra that Ashley isn’t a threat to her. How many times does he need to tell her?
Audra says he only needs to tell her once… If he really means it.
Tucker says he’ll tell her what Ashley said to him before she kissed him. He says Ashley repeated her offer to give him everything he claimed he ever wanted, and she wanted him to stop thinking she had a problem.
Tucker explains that Ashley wanted him to dump Audra and get back together with her. He says he’s with Audra in his heart and mind, and what’s going on with Ashley has nothing to do with love or romance; it has to do with him wanting to help someone he cares about.
Audra says Tucker can’t see that Ashley is sucking him back in.
Tucker gets angry and says Ashley isn’t sucking him back in.
Audra says Tucker had said they were a power couple who were destined to be together, but now he’s saying that Ashley is an option.
Tucker says that’s not what he’s telling her… That’s what Ashley claimed.
Audra says she was talking to someone who advised her to fight for them, but she can’t fight this because she’d be fighting all on her own. She says, “Good luck,” and gets up to leave.
Tucker grabs her coat and tells her to wait.
Audra tells him to let her go. She storms out.
Dr. Alcott’s Office
Adam walks into the waiting room, where Chelsea and Connor are sitting. Adam says he brought the things from home that Connor wanted.
Connor doesn’t respond. He plays with his hoodie.
Chelsea asks if he’d like to check out what Adam had brought with him.
Connor doesn’t say a word.
Adam asks Connor if he’d like to tell them what’s going on in his head. They’re there to listen.
Connor says he hates being there, he hates the doctor, and he hates himself.
Audra’s GCAC Suite
Audra unpacks her suitcases and throws her clothes back into the wardrobe willy-nilly.
There’s a knock at the door, and she looks through the peephole. She yells, “Go away!”
From the other side of the door, Tucker says he has something to ask her… It’s a crucial question.
Audra puts the chain on her door and opens it so he can speak through the crack.
Tucker asks what she meant when she said she was “done with him.”
Audra asks what part of “I’m done” he doesn’t understand.
Tucker asks if she’s done with everything… Or just him.
Audra doesn’t answer.
Tucker figures that means she’s done with him. He asks about Glissade; he doesn’t want Ashley to ruin that for them as well.
Crimson Lights
Kyle says it sounds impossible that Summer and Claire are cousins but never knew each other existed… And yet, here they are; it’s incredible!
Victoria says it’s a dream come true.
Summer says the whole family can’t wait to meet Claire.
Claire grins and says she feels the same.
Harrison walks up to Claire and hands her a drawing.
Claire asks if he drew it for her.
Harrison nods and sees someone on the patio. He runs over and hugs Ashley.
Kyle follows Harrison and says hello to Ashley.
Ashley smiles at Harrison and asks him how kindergarten is before asking him what grade he’s in. She can’t believe how big he is; soon, he’ll be bigger than his dad!
Kyle asks Ashley if everything is alright.
Ashley has a too-big grin on her face. She says everything is alright now. She wishes she could stay and chat, but she has to get a cocoa and run. She grins at Harrison and says goodbye as she heads to the counter.
Kyle looks confused by Ashley’s demeanor.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Billy meets Ashley in Society and asks if everything is okay.
Summer tells Kyle she’ll do some digging on what Victoria didn’t tell them about Claire.
Nikki, Victoria, and Claire open the door to Jordan’s cell. Jordan is relieved to see them, but Nikki says, “Sorry, Jordan, this isn’t a rescue party.”
