Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Claire hugged Victoria as they bonded, while Victor questioned Cole about his plans for the future.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel invites Heather in.
Heather asks why he invited her over.
Daniel looks uncomfortable and says the other night, she left after saying she was falling back in love with him, and he’s unsure what to do with that information.
Heather says she can help him with that.
Society
Victoria walks into the restaurant and sees her mother there. She kisses Nikki in greeting and heads for the bar to pick up some takeout.
Nikki calls her over to join her, but Victoria says she has a lot of work to do. Nikki says her excuses won’t work… Victoria is trying to avoid her, and she knows why.
Newman Enterprises
Adam and Victor enter the Newman offices. Adam updates Victor on their acquisition and says he couldn’t have done it without Nick’s help.
Victor’s happy to hear that. He says he can feel the different energy in the building… There’s trust and collaboration between his sons, which warms his heart’s cockles.
Adam says they have Victor to thank for “strong-arming” him and Nick into it.
Victor says that if Nick and Adam continue to work together, they can move mountains.
Crimson Lights
Nick walks into the cafe and sees Sally. They greet each other and make small talk about the launch party.
Sally says that Adam and Nick working together is inspiring. She says it seems they’re having a breakthrough.
Nick says Adam’s keeping Sally well informed. He figures they must be giving their relationship another shot; showing up to Sharon’s launch party wasn’t a casual date.
Sally doesn’t deny it… She’s been reconnecting with Adam.
Nick says if she’s happy, he’s happy for her. She’s always gone where her heart takes her, and he’s pulling for her and Adam.
Sally apologizes for causing him such pain in the past. She hopes they can remain friends.
Nick says they’re good… Friends it is!
They hug, and Sally leaves the coffee shop.
Sharon smiles at Nick and says he’s hurting more than he’s letting on.
Society
Victoria sits with her mom and asks how she’s doing; is she still worried about Seth?
Nikki says she’s tired of people tiptoeing around her, thinking they’ll do something to send her off onto another drinking binge.
Victoria says she trusts her mom and knows she’ll beat it.
Nikki says she has a “small battalion” of people who want to help her, and she wants to be there for her daughter. She asks what’s happening with Claire.
Victoria says, for the first time in a while, Claire isn’t her main concern… Victor is.
Newman Enterprises
Adam is happy that Victor trusted him and Nick enough to make them co-CEOs, and he’s grateful for the opportunity to prove himself to everyone who doubted him. He’s going to enjoy it as long as it lasts.
Victor asks what he means by that.
Adam shrugs. He says they all know it’s a temporary job… When Victoria comes back and wants her job back, it’ll be musical chairs all over again, and someone might end up on the outside.
Victor says he understands Victoria’s decision but doesn’t plan to use Nick and Adam as placeholders.
Adam figures when the time comes, all bets are off.
Victor tells him to sit down. He says Adam’s place in the company is secure as long as he doesn’t give him a reason to change his mind.
Adam promises those days are gone. He’s all in! Everything is going great in his life and his profession, and he doesn’t want to screw things up.
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel asks Heather if she can understand why he’s confused about her professing her love for him.
Heather says she’s not confused. She meant it, she’s falling back in love with him!
Daniel doesn’t know what to do with that information. He says it explains the kiss at Christmas.
Heather says he can keep it in his pocket for a rainy day. It surprised her as much as it surprised him. She’s been having problems sleeping because of it, and she realized she didn’t want things to end between them.
Daniel reminds Heather he’s with Lily now.
Heather knows. She asks if she would have a chance with him if he weren’t with Lily.
Daniel looks thoughtful. He says they would have a chance if he weren’t involved with Lily, but Lily is in his life.
Heather asks if he’s in love with Lily.
Daniel says they care for each other, but their relationship hasn’t reached that level yet.
Heather nods. If Daniel sees love ahead for him and Lily, she’ll respect his decision. She says their family could be together again… How does that make him feel about his future with Lily?
Daniel says he’s not sure.
Society
Victoria tells her mom that Claire’s fragile, but she confronted Jordan, which made her feel like a chapter of her life is over. She says Claire agreed to let Cole and her visit.
Nikki says that sounds positive.
Victoria says the best part was when Claire hugged her; she held her daughter in her arms for the first time. She says Claire seems sincere about wanting to turn her life around.
Nikki hopes that’s true. It’d be a relief to know Claire could be the daughter Victoria hopes for.
Victoria says Victor is digging for information, and that makes her angry… He asked her if something would happen between her and Cole, but they want to help their daughter… That’s all!
Nikki says the past has a way of creeping up on Victoria… What if her feelings change?
Newman Enterprises
Adam and Victor finish their business talk, and Adam’s phone pings with a notification. It’s Sally, asking if he’s free.
Victor sees Adam’s face light up and figures it’s Sally. He says he knows Adam is dating Sally again, and he doesn’t think she’s good enough for either of his sons. He doesn’t like that she’s hurt Nicholas, but he thinks Sally always cared more for Adam than Nick. He says the heart wants what it wants… It’s an unstoppable force.
Adam furrows his brow and says that’s as close to a blessing as he can expect from his dad about Sally. He’ll take it.
Victor says if Adam trusts Sally, he’ll try to do the same.
Crimson Lights
Nick tells Sharon he’s not putting on an act regarding Sally. Things didn’t work out, and he really does want what’s best for her.
Sharon asks if he wants what’s best for Sally, even if it means she’s with Adam.
Nick walks away without saying anything, but Sharon follows, smiling. Nick grins. He can’t get away from her! He says he obviously doesn’t want Sally to be with Adam; he knows Adam will hurt her again.
Sharon says love can be a risky proposition, but it can be wonderful, too. She says it’s gotten people in trouble… Especially Nick!
Nick laughs and agrees. He says he’s sorry.
Sharon grins and says she’s gained some wisdom over the years, and her priorities have shifted.
Nick says he’s realized that he needs to focus on family more, which means being the best father he can be to Noah, Faith, Summer, and Christian. He wants to be the best son and brother he can be!
Sharon is confident in him.
Nick says it feels right this time around… Sharing the top spot with Adam gives him hope that it’s possible. He’s never been this excited to be back at Newman; he’s looking forward to the challenge!
Sharon laughs and says she remembers him warning her about only having a company to keep her warm at night.
Nick says he doesn’t know why he said that; it was dumb. He thinks things are perfect for him right now, and the thought of falling in love again just sounds exhausting.
Sharon nods. It’s definitely exhausting.
Nick says, “Who needs love, anyhow?”
Sharon says it’s nice… Both of them took a long time to find themselves, but it seems they finally have.
Nick asks Sharon to have lunch with him.

Victoria asks Nikki if she’s taking Victor’s side.
Nikki says she’s not, but she sees the look in Victoria’s eyes… Victoria wants to create the family she thinks Claire deserves.
Victoria laughs and says they’re assuming she’ll swoon and fall into Cole’s arms… That’s ridiculous and offensive!
Nikki says Victor is protective of Victoria, and he knows how much Cole hurt her in the past… It’s a valid concern!
Victoria says they both hurt each other, but now they’re supporting their daughter and have no romantic intentions toward each other.
Nikki says she’s glad to hear it.
Victoria says Cole needs to be there for Claire, which means she needs him there, too.
Daniel’s Apartment
Heather tells Daniel she’s not trying to steal him away from Lily. She doesn’t want to hurt someone, but she wants to fight for her family. She asks if Daniel remembers how good their life was in Savannah; they had their whole life planned out!
Daniel says it was perfect until he ruined it.
Heather says he found his way back and is the man she fell in love with so many years before; he’s the father Lucy adores. She says Lucy is finally happy, and Heather wants them reunited as a family. She wants them back.
Daniel says it meant everything to him that Heather moved back to Genoa City with Lucy.
Heather says she never stopped believing in Daniel. She moved to Portugal thinking that their life together was over, but a part of her hoped that someday he’d want to be together with her and Lucy again.
Daniel asks why she had a relationship in Portugal if she wanted them to be together again.
Heather says her relationship was with a “safe” man she knew wouldn’t break her heart. She takes Daniel’s hand and says they’ve had an amazing love story together and a wonderful life with Lucy. What if their story isn’t over? What if they could recapture what they had?
Daniel doesn’t say anything. He’s processing what Heather’s saying.
Heather says Daniel might think she’s horrible for trying to come between him and Lily, but she thinks it’d be wrong to say nothing to the man she loves.
Daniel stands up and says he hurt her deeply…
Heather says they could have a second chance. How can they pass it up without trying?
Daniel says it’s complicated.
Heather says it’s not complicated. She loves him and wants the joy of raising their daughter together. She wants to wake up in his arms in their bed and end the day the same way. She says he can tell her to leave, and they don’t have to ever talk about it again, but she doesn’t think he wants her to leave… Does he?
Daniel answers by kissing her.
Society
Adam walks up to Sally at the bar and kisses her in greeting. He says it’s the best part of his day.
Sally says Victor’s been keeping him busy, but this will shock her… Victor gave Adam and Sally his blessing!
Sally doesn’t believe it. She thinks Victor is messing with Adam.
Adam shakes his head. Nope! He says “the old man” made it clear that he supports their renewed relationship.
Sally’s skeptical. She says Victor told her she’s not good enough for Nick or Adam and tried to screw her over… How can Victor be good with them together?
Adam says Victor wisely said that “the heart wants what the heart wants,” and he will honor it.
Sally’s surprised. She can’t believe that Victor “approves” of them. What’s changed?
Adam says Victor might see he’s determined to be a better man.
Sally smiles and says she sees it every time she’s with him. Sally asks why he said “renewed” relationship.
Adam says it’s a new chapter in their lives, and he wants to get it right.
Sally says she thinks he’s getting it very right. She kisses him.
Sharon and Nick walk into the restaurant and see Adam and Sally kissing. Sharon looks at Nick with concern.
Newman Enterprises
Victor is working when Victoria drops by the office. Victor asks how she’s doing; how’s Claire?
Victoria tells her dad she’s not there to talk about her daughter… She’s there to tell him to leave Cole alone! She says what happened between her and Cole is in the past, and she’s not creating some “fantasy family” in her head.
Victor says a father can show concern.
Victoria says the last thing Cole needs is Victor’s interference.
Victor waves it off. Is that what he’s doing? Interfering?
Victoria asks if he really thinks she’s interested in a romance with Cole.
Victor says that’s not the only thing he’s concerned about. Victoria’s developing motherly feelings about “that Claire girl,” who is unstable! They don’t really know her, but Victoria is already talking about creating a family with her. Victor doesn’t want her to get hurt again!
Victoria says she loves him for that and asks that Victor let them work on things on their own and to trust her to make her own decisions.
Victor begrudgingly agrees and says he’ll “be nice.”
Victoria says she has one more thing to ask. When Claire is released, she wants Victor to accept her into the Newman family.
Society
Sharon tells Nick she’s fine with going elsewhere for lunch if he’s uncomfortable.
Nick says it’s fine… He cleared the air with Sally earlier. This is about looking forward! He walks over to Sally and Adam and says hello.
Adam smiles and asks if they’re having lunch. Nick nods. Yep!
Sally congratulates Sharon on Cassidy First.
Sharon thanks her and says she’s excited about it.
Nick tells Adam he’ll see him back at the office. He and Sharon head off to a table of their own.
Adam looks surprised and says that went better than he expected. He asks Sally if she believes in destiny.
Sally believes that people make their own future. Put in the work, and things will fall into place… Why is Adam asking that?
Adam says he’s just curious about what she thinks.
Sally says he’s not “just curious.” He keeps staring at Sharon and Nick… What’s up with that?
Adam protests he’s not staring, but he totally is.
Sally wonders if Adam is hoping Sharon and Nick are going to get together again.
Adam thinks that’s absurd. Why would he care?
Sally says if Sharon and Nick get together again, Adam thinks it would remove Nick as competition for Sally.
Daniel’s Apartment
Heather and Daniel kiss passionately in the bedroom.
They undress each other and fall onto the bed.
After, they lie in each other’s arms. Heather asks if she’s alone in feeling what just happened.
Daniel says she’s not alone in her feelings.
Society
Sharon smiles and tells Nick they’re having lunch “out of the blue.”
Nick says he’s an out-of-the-blue kind of guy.
Sharon says she’s surprised and curious about his invitation.
Nick says he was having a good time being around her and thought it’d be nice to catch up on things. He asks how things are going at Cassidy First after the launch and how things are going with her.
Sharon says they can also talk about how things are going with Nick.
Nick says things are going “amazing” with him.
Sharon laughs. Of course they are!
Adam tells Sally it’s the first time he’s ever felt like he’s not in competition with his brother.
Sally hopes he means that. She’s not wavering between them; she wants Adam.
Adam believes her. He says he was talking about their destiny.
Sally says it’s not destiny. That would mean they don’t have free will! They chose to be together.
Adam grins and says they’ve chosen very well. He looks over at Nick and Sharon, who are laughing and enjoying themselves. He says despite everything Nick and Sharon have been through, he thinks there’s some sort of fate at play, and has always felt that way.
Newman Enterprises
Victor tells Victoria that he’s happy for her but reminds her that Claire was trained by a master manipulator to fool people into believing her and trusting her.
Victoria says she had a breakthrough today with Claire. She knows it’s been difficult on Nikki and Victor because of what Claire did, but she wants Victor to have some faith in her instincts about Claire.
Claire says Victoria is a wonderful mother. He hopes it’ll work out for her.
Victoria says when it works out, she wants his promise to accept Claire into their family.
Victor says if Claire gets hold of her demons and becomes a true daughter to Victoria, he’ll accept her as a Newman.
Victoria smiles and hugs her father.
Memorial Hospital
Claire wakes up to a figure standing over her bed.
It’s Nikki, and she doesn’t look happy.
