Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Nate accepted the job at Chancellor-Winters, while Lily learned Mattie’s school is in lockdown.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack asks Jill if she’ll work with them to stop Tucker. He says if they work together, they’d be unstoppable.
Jill says when they hit Tucker, they have to make sure it’s something he’ll never recover from… And she knows exactly what’s going to hurt him the most!
The Genoa City Athletic Club
In the dining room, Tucker and Mamie are sitting at a table talking. Tucker says Mamie thinks she has a poker face, but she’s easy to read.
Mamie says she doesn’t have any reason to believe he’s changed. She thinks Tucker has revenge on his mind.
Tucker says revenge doesn’t do it for him anymore. He has different plans.
Ashley walks through the lobby and sees Tucker and Mamie talking in the dining room.
Mamie tells Tucker not to leave her in suspense; what are his plans?
Tucker wants to build something new and “put something good into the universe.”
Ashley walks up to the table and smiles at them both. She says she’ll believe it when she sees it.
Daniel’s Apartment
Danny comes to Daniel’s apartment bearing gifts. He brings some bags of groceries with him and asks if anything is exciting going on tonight at the apartment.
Daniel says nothing exciting is happening… He’s just reading articles about the wildfires at Mattie’s campus.
Daniel heard it was mostly contained; is Lily on her way to California?
Danny nods and says Lily can’t be away from her daughter with what she’s going through.
Crimson Lights
Phyllis sits at a table drinking coffee when Christine walks in. Phyllis says hello and asks what she’s doing there so late.
Christine says she was hoping for a quiet moment alone while she picks up her tea.
Phyllis understands. She asks if there is any truth to the rumors that Christine might leave her position as District Attorney.
Christine says nothing she does is any of Phyllis’s business. She asks what Phyllis is up to.
Phyllis says she noticed that Danny and Christine have gotten closer, which involves her since if Christine is part of Danny’s life, then she’s also part of Daniel’s life. Phyllis is trying to make peace with it and be a “bigger woman.”
Christine asks why Phyllis assumes she’s becoming more involved in Danny’s life.
Phyllis says she’s just caught a vibe from them. She says Christine’s secret is safe with her.
Christine says she’s not willing to talk about it with Phyllis.
Phyllis says she understands; there’s no sense in pining over Paul, and she admires Christine’s ability to move on from him so quickly.
The Abbott Mansion
Jill mentions that she heard that Tucker and Ashley had bought a fragrance company while they were married.
Jack says they’ve heard about it too… The company is called Glacade.
Billy explains that he and Jack figured it was the foundation for Ashley and Tucker’s new company.
Diane thinks they wanted to use it as a base to compete with Jabot.
Jill scoffs. That would never happen. She says Tucker has been funneling money into Glacade lately.
Jack figures Tucker wasn’t just creating turmoil for fun; he must have planned it specifically to go against Jabot. Tucker doesn’t want to own Jabot; he wants to destroy it completely!
The GCAC Dining Room
Ashley asks Mamie if she believes Tucker wants to be a “productive member of society.”
Mamie says she wouldn’t take Tucker at his word, but they’ll have to wait and see. She says family means everything to her, and she’ll fight to the death to protect them. She gets up, wishes them a good evening, and leaves the dining room.
Ashley sits with Tucker and says she’d like to hear his plans.
Tucker says he’d be happy to tell her since she’s intimately involved.
The Abbott Mansion
Diane thinks Jack must be right. Tucker must be planning to destabilize Jabot with infighting and backstabbing!
Jack says once Tucker sees them fighting, Tucker will use Glacade to destroy Jabot completely.
Billy isn’t surprised. This is classic Tucker.
Jack says he doesn’t mind friendly competition, but this is underhanded!
Billy wonders how Jill and Chancellor-Winters are involved in Tucker’s scheme.
Jill figures Tucker might be trying to take down Jabot first, and then he’ll go after Chancellor. She says her only concern is how they’ll fend him off.
Jack says they have to make Glacade worthless to let Tucker know that the Abbotts are the wrong family to mess with.
Diane says they need a weapon.
Jill says she’d love to hit Tucker with a great big stick.
Billy says they don’t need a weapon. They already have one.
The GCAC Dining Room
Ashley asks Tucker what part she could possibly play in his future.
Tucker says she encouraged him to take Glacade.
Ashley says he’s been plotting revenge.
Tucker says he’s making better choices now. Instead of revenge, he’s trying to cultivate a sense of purpose.
Ashley doesn’t believe him. He wants to conquer the world.
Tucker says he doesn’t. He has plans, and they begin with Glacade.
Ashley figures he wants her to sell him her half of the company.
Tucker says they agreed to that already. His lawyers are already drafting a generous offer for her. He says no strings are attached; it’ll be a clean break, just like Ashley wants.
Ashley peers at him. “What are you up to?”
Tucker says Ashley just can’t seem to trust that he’s trying to change his ways.
Ashley shakes her head. She can’t believe it.
Daniel’s Apartment
Danny places a bouquet on Daniel’s table.
Daniel jokes and says, “You shouldn’t have.” He asks what his father brought in the grocery bags. Lily’s out of town, and they’re just a couple of bachelors home alone. He asks if his dad wants to crack some cold ones and watch the game.
Danny laughs. When was the last time they did that?
Daniel doesn’t know, but he’s excited to spend some quality time with his dad!
Danny says he’s come to borrow Daniel’s kitchen for a couple of hours to make his pasta sauce.
Daniel’s excited that his dad’s going to be making the “Romalotti Ragu”, a recipe that Danny won’t even write down because Daniel would outdo him if he had it.
Danny says that’s the one, and it’s better than Gina’s!
Daniel says his father only makes the sauce for special occasions; why is he making it tonight?
Danny says this is where it gets awkward. The dinner isn’t for Daniel, it’s for Christine.
Daniel asks if his dad has a date.
Crimson Lights
Christine tells Phyllis that her relationship with Danny is none of her business.
Phyllis says they have a relationship now.
Christine says that’s not what she meant. Why is Phyllis so curious about Danny, anyhow?
Phyllis says nothing and just grins at Christine.
Christine figures Phyllis is jealous about her and Danny getting closer.
Phyllis says she and Danny are just friends who co-parent.
Christine says her relationship with Paul is over, and Danny is worth her time and attention. She’ll probably have more clarity on the matter after her home-cooked dinner with him tonight. Danny is supposed to be making something unforgettable for dinner.
Phyllis figures Danny is going to make “The Sauce.” She wishes Christine bon appetite and leaves the cafe.
Daniel’s Apartment
Danny tells his son that he and Christine are friends and have been getting closer lately. Christine has had a rough time with the breakup with Paul and is a wonderful person. Danny wants to be there for her “as a friend.”
Daniel nods knowingly. A friend. Pasta with a pal!
Danny says they’ve kissed. He says things are moving in a good direction with Christine, and he’d really love to borrow Daniel’s kitchen tonight!
Daniel laughs and says he can’t say no to “you crazy kids.”
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis sits in the lounge. She looks at her phone and sends Summer a message. “I’m sitting here all alone. Join me for a drink?”
Summer says she can’t join her and asks for a raincheck.
Phyllis sends a message to Daniel. “Join me for a drink? I’m buying.”
Michael walks up to her and asks if he can buy her a drink.
The GCAC Dining Room
Ashley tells Tucker she regrets a few things about their times together, but Glacade is not one of them. It’s a solid company, and with the right leadership, it could have a lot of potential.
Tucker asks if Ashley’s trying to drive up the price.
Ashley says she might have changed her mind.
Tucker shakes his head. Ashley only wants the company because he wants it.
Ashley says she’s not that petty. Glacade will fail if it doesn’t have the support of a large company like Jabot. It needs her to survive.
Tucker says he can build the company up from nothing; he’s done it before.
Ashley says it’d take a miracle.
Tucker says he can do it; he just needs someone to believe in it, and he can turn it into gold!
The Abbott Mansion
Billy tells Jill that Tucker was involved in a scandal with an underaged girl and one of the company’s artists.
Jill can’t believe it. “He did WHAT?!”
Billy says they need to take that information to the French Board of Directors and whoever Tucker is partnered with at Glacade, and they’ll dump him. That would put an end to Tucker’s machinations!
Jill says she’s proud of Billy. That would free them of Tucker! She asks who they should contact first… The French media?
Jack says they need to talk to Ashley first since she owns half the company.
Diane says they need to keep Tucker distracted in the meantime.
Jill grins. She can handle that!
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Michael asks Phyllis what he did wrong; he bought her a martini, and she’s not even talking to him!
Phyllis says Michael abandoned her. She came back from the dead, but he ghosted her. She says it’s difficult when Michael’s not around because nobody understands her except him.
Michael figures Phyllis is feeling lonely.
Phyllis smiles. She’s glad he’s back.
The Abbott Mansion
Jill says, “So that’s the bare bones of the plan.”
Diane isn’t sure. Is it enough of a distraction?
Jack wonders if Jill will be able to convince Tucker of her sincerity.
Billy agrees with Jack. He says everyone can see through Jill when she’s being insincere.
Jill says they can see through her because she can’t hide her love for them, but with Tucker, there’s no love lost between them.
Jill says they need to make sure that Tucker trusts them.
Jack says that, speaking of trust, he needs her to shed some light on why she’s trying to poach Billy from Jabot.
Jill says she’d prefer Billy to work with her, but if he wants to keep working with Jack, there’s nothing she can do about it.
Billy says he won’t need to be her sidekick if they do things correctly and take Tucker down.
Jill says she didn’t want him to be a sidekick. She wants to work with him because he’s her son, and she wants to build something with him. Doesn’t Jack want business and family together, too?
The GCAC Dining Room
Tucker says Ashley was willing to get rid of Glacade a week ago… What’s changed?
Ashley says she saw the potential in the company.
Tucker says Ashley must hate him. She has everything she could possibly want!
Ashley says she’s not changing her mind; she won’t sell her half of the company.
Tucker says that he’ll have to fight her for it.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Phyllis tells Michael she’s trying to be good, but everyone sees her as a pariah who will never change. She says her kids hate her and try to avoid her.
Michael says even though Phyllis isn’t in prison, she still has to pay for what she did.
Phyllis says she knows that. She’s being shamed by her neighbors; why is Michael smiling?
Michael says he remembers a time when Phyllis would have tried to “live down” to people’s low expectations of her, but he can tell she wants to be better for herself, not for others. He clasps his hands and says his best friend is growing up!
Phyllis tells him not to make jokes; she’s sad! She laughs and says this must be her karma. She hates karma. She says Christine and Diane are being forgiven and are happy… Why can’t the same happen to her? Why can’t she have someone who trusts and believes in her and loves her?
Daniel’s Apartment
Daniel opens the door. He invites a surprised Christine in.
Christine can’t believe how good it smells in the apartment. She says Daniel must be spoiled; his dad probably cooks like this for him all the time.
Daniel laughs and says his dad never cooks for him.
Christine hopes Daniel will be joining them tonight.
Daniel says he has something to do but asks that they save him some leftovers. He puts on his coat and leaves.
Danny comes out of the kitchen and says Christine is right on time.
The Abbott Mansion
Billy prepares to leave the house, saying he knows his assignment is to find out as much information about Tucker and Ashley’s company as possible.
Diane tells him not to make any drastic moves. This has to be kept on the down-low.
Billy wonders if Ashley has a plan of her own.
Ashley walks into the living room, asking what plan they’re talking about… Do they want to talk about Glacade?
The GCAC Jazz Lounge
Michael brings Phyllis a glass of water and tells her to drink it.
Phyllis protests that she’s not drunk.
Michael says he knows, but she’s depressed and he doesn’t like where she’s headed. Drink it!
Phyllis thanks him and takes a sip.
Michael says Phyllis can’t compare her journey to others. She needs to keep her eyes forward, do good, and put more love into people’s lives. He says that if she does that, her love will be rewarded.
Phyllis says she’d like to believe that.
Michael reminds her that she’s not in prison and her debts are paid.
Phyllis says that may be true, but her children hate her.
Michael says her kids may be “skittish,” but Phyllis has been given a second chance and needs to do something with it. Find the thing that she loves, and grab it with both hands!
Phyllis says she’ll work to beautify her life and create her own path. She says Michael is brilliant.
They smile and clink glasses in a toast.
Daniel’s Apartment
Christine tells Danny that she just had one of the best dinners she’s had in years.
Danny says that Gina still thinks her pasta is better than his, but she’s obviously delusional.
Christine agrees. The sauce was perfect!
Danny compares the dinner to their night together. When it’s right, there’s something remarkable about it.
Christine says she loves that a recipe can change over time, but it can get more complex and rewarding too.
Danny says it can be the same but better. He grabs his phone and plays some music. He asks her to join him on “the dancefloor.”
Christine joins him, and they dance slowly, which leads up to a tender kiss.
Tucker’s GCAC Suite
Tucker tells his lawyer, Teresa, that the purchase agreement he asked her to draft needs changing. He needs her to go through it with a fine-tooth comb.
Teresa asks what he needs her to do.
Tucker says they need to find a surefire way to kick Ashley to the curb. He wants her out so he can be the company’s sole owner.
Teresa says it won’t be easy.
Tucker doesn’t care. He says he made Teresa a rich woman to do things like this. He tells her to find a way to make it happen, or he’ll find someone else who will.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack asks Ashley if Tucker is funneling money into Glacade to use it as a weapon against Jabot.
Ashley nods. Definitely. She says Tucker wants to buy her half of the company, but she realized he was up to something so she told him that she changed her mind to see how much he actually wanted Glacade… Tucker really wants the company and wants to use it to take down Jabot.
Billy says they have a plan that involves his mother.
Ashley asks if Jill is suddenly her friend now.
Jack says they’re friends on this matter; they’re all working together to shut Tucker down for good.
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Sally and Adam agree to “hit the reset button” on their relationship.
Abby asks Devon if he feels that hiring Nate was a mistake.
Victoria and Cole ask Michael to act as Claire’s lawyer. Michael isn’t keen on it.
Jordan flips through a photo album of the Newmans and tells a picture of her sister that the Newman family will get what they deserve… Every last one of them!
