On the last episode of Y&R, Diane was jealous of Jack & Nikki, Lily & Devon clashed over Billy, and Nikki succumbed to temptation.

Chancellor-Winters

Lily asks Billy what he wants from Chancellor-Winters.

Lily Winters talks to Billy Abbott.
CBS

Billy says he wants to do a good job and bring value to the company Katherine loved, and he wants to do it in a way that earns the trust of his team while setting a good example for his kids.

Lily says that’s a great answer for his Fortune 500 profile, but this is her he’s talking to. What else does he want?

Billy Abbott talks with Lily.
CBS

Billy says he wants to protect his mother’s position and her legacy, but he’s not just there to be a placeholder for her.

Lily wants to know what’s in it for Billy… She tells him not to lie to her; she’ll see right through it!

Crimson Lights

Nick walks into the coffee shop and says hello to Sally. He asks whether she’s heard from Adam.

Nicholas Newman talks with Sally Spectra.
CBS

Sally says they’ve had some brief phone calls, but hasn’t heard much. She knows Chelsea, Connor, and Adam are in Baltimore and having some sessions today as well as coming up with a treatment plan.

Nick says it must be scary for Connor, and he can’t imagine what Adam and Chelsea are going through.

Sally says Adam was hoping that Connor’s return home to Genoa City would help with his OCD symptoms, but it didn’t. She says Adam didn’t want to send Connor away, but he had to agree with Chelsea that the only thing that mattered was getting Connor the best treatment possible.

Nick nods. He’s glad Adam and Chelsea have come together to get their boy the help he needs.

Sally talks to Nick.
CBS

The Newman Limousine

Chelsea and Adam are riding in the back of a car, and Chelsea tells Adam to thank Victor for letting them use the jet… He didn’t have to do that.

Adam Newman sits, sullen, while Chelsea Lawson talks to him.
CBS

Adam sullenly says Victor will do anything for his family. He notices Chelsea checking her phone and reminds her that the doctors told them that Connor won’t contact them today.

Chelsea says she knows, but she was checking in case of a problem.

Adam scoffs. “If there is a problem!”

Adam talks to Chelsea.
CBS

Chancellor-Winters

Billy tells Lily he’ll tell her the truth… Everything has become clear to him, and he understands the company better than he ever did before. He says he won’t get bored, so she can tell Devon that there’s no chance he’s going to move on. He asks if she can guess why.

Lily laughs and says she doesn’t like when he says that… Why?

Lily smiles at Billy.
CBS

Billy says he sees a future where Chancellor-Winters soars to new heights.

Lily asks how he plans to accomplish that.

Billy says it’s not going to be just him… He and Lily will do it side-by-side, and they’ll run the whole place together the way it was meant to be!

Billy talks with Lily.
CBS

The Limousine

Adam tells Chelsea there is a problem… They’re in Genoa City, and their son is all alone in Baltimore. He’s probably scared and confused and surrounded by a bunch of strangers.

Chelsea tells him to stop already… It’s enough! They’re both stressed and trying to process this; don’t make her the enemy in it! She says she didn’t send Connor there to make him miserable; she hates it, too!

Adam and Chelsea sit and talk in a car.
CBS

Adam apologizes; that wasn’t helpful of him. He’ll set up Connor’s petty cash fund when he gets home.

Chelsea thanks him and hopes Connor can find something in their commissary that he likes to eat… Or isn’t afraid to eat.

Adam reminds Chelsea to send Connor his “lucky” jersey with the number seven on it in case Connor wants to play soccer again.

Adam and Chelsea talk.
CBS

Chelsea says it was nice to be able to tour the sports facilities.

Adam nods. He says the facilities weren’t as good as Connor hoped, but they were “okay.”

Chelsea says “okay” is better than nothing.

Chelsea talks to a sullen Adam.
CBS

Adam agrees.

They sit in silence for a minute. The car slows and stops, and Chelsea gets out, saying it’s her stop. She tells Adam to call her if he hears anything, and she’ll do the same.

Crimson Lights

Sally and Nick sit at a table and talk over coffee. Sally tells Nick it’s nice to see him and Adam acting like brothers.

Sally Spectra talks to Nick.
CBS

Nick says Adam actually listened to him when he told him to tell Victor about Connor.

Sally is happy Nick told Adam to talk to Victor, who’s been great.

Nick says Victor will always help out family. He’s sorry that Adam couldn’t convince Victor to bring Sally’s business to Newman; she and Chloe must be disappointed.

Sally says he shouldn’t be sorry. They were disappointed until they found out the idea might not be dead in the water.

Nick Newman talks to Sally.
CBS

Chancellor-Winters

Lily raises an eyebrow at Billy and laughs that he’d say they would run Chancellor-Winters together… He’s obviously joking!

Billy says it’s the smartest option.

Billy talks with Lily.
CBS

Lily says this is classic Billy Abbott… Go big or go home!

Billy says it’s logical to him; they can do this.

Lily says he should remember that he’s not calling the shots at the company.

Lily Winters.
CBS

Billy says he’s not… Yet.

Lily wonders what would happen to Devon, Nate, Chance, and Jill.

Billy says they all would have a seat at the table; he won’t push anyone out. He says it would be based on their experience, with Devon getting the biggest piece of the pie at their discretion. He says it’d be a 50/50 decision between himself and Lily.

Billy Abbott.
CBS

Lily says Devon would never go for it; he fought hard to preserve the integrity of their father’s company.

Billy says there would be some adjustments, but Devon’s passion is music, and he can lean into it and spend more time in the company’s artistic divisions. It’s a win-win situation!

Lily says Devon won’t see it that way.

Lily talks to Billy.
CBS

Billy says he will see it once he stops tripping over his own ego and will thank them.

Lily laughs and says Billy is delusional. She asks what will happen with Jill.

Billy says Jill put him in his position because she wants to groom him to be her replacement.

Billy talks with Lily.
CBS

Lily is surprised… Jill said that?

Billy says she didn’t exactly say it, but Jill is his mother, and he knows how to read her.

Lily says she knows how to read Jill, too, and she’s not going anywhere soon.

Billy says Jill wouldn’t have picked Lily as CEO when Chancellor-Winters was ChanceComm. He says Jill obviously wants them both to run the company… She picked them back then and picked them now. He says they’re ready to take the reins, which could happen easily.

Lily smiles at Billy.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Nick asks Sally if Adam thinks there’s a chance that Victor will bring Sally’s design business into Newman.

Nick points at Sally as they talk.
CBS

Sally says Adam is convinced that Victor could be persuaded to change his mind.

Nick says he’s not convinced, but you can never tell with Victor.

Sally isn’t sold on it either. She has other things to focus on and wants to support Adam with his challenges.

Sally talks with Nick.
CBS

Nick says he’s sure Adam appreciates her support. He asks how Sally is doing; he knows she likes to feel productive.

Sally says she’s been wondering whether transitioning to interior design was a mistake… She thinks she should have stuck to what she knows: Fashion.

Nick says she shouldn’t sell herself short; she has a lot of talents, and her skills will translate into any field she wants. He tells her he’s always there for anything she needs.

Nick Newman.
CBS

Sally says he’s done more than enough. One way or another, she’ll be okay. She says there’s one thing he can do for her, though… Stop talking about her and tell her how he’s doing!

Nick says he’s “cool.” Christian is doing great, and the Newman family is hanging tough like always. He says work is “awesome,” and he has everything he needs.

The Limousine

Adam sits in the back of the limo and remembers Connor begging him to come home. He tells the driver there’s been a change of plans… He won’t be heading straight home after all.

Adam Newman and his driver in the Newman limousine.
CBS

Chancellor-Winters

Lily tells Billy she can think of a million reasons why his “plan” wouldn’t happen.

Billy says they’re ready for it, and they’re both smarter business people than they were before. They’ve learned a lot, and they know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. They also know when to call each other out when the other one is wrong.

Billy talks with Lily.
CBS

Lily says she’s clearly not doing a good job of that right now.

Billy understands her hesitation and appreciates her loyalty to her brother, but Devon is a lone wolf who doesn’t play well with others.

Lily says Billy’s using that as an excuse to move Devon out of the way.

Lily talks to Billy.
CBS

Billy says Devon is holding the company back; he’s too conservative and isn’t a “dreamer” like he and Lily are. He says Lily had a dream when she wanted to bring the two companies together.

Lily reminds Billy he couldn’t stand it when Mamie wanted to split Chancellor and Winters.

Billy says it was only proposed because the two sides are clashing… And with him and Lily in charge, they can bring the company to new heights! They can do it together.

Billy Abbott.
CBS

A bit later, Chelsea walks into the office. She apologizes for interrupting, saying she’d tried calling Billy, but it went to voicemail.

Lily talks to Billy and Chelsea.
CBS

Billy says he turned his phone off… He and Lily were having a “spirited” discussion about the company’s future.

Lily says they were done talking; they’ll pick it up later. She leaves the office.

Chelsea sighs, and Billy hugs her.

Chelsea Lawson hugs Billy Abbott.

Sally’s GCAC Suite

Sally is sketching when there’s a knock at the door. It’s Adam, and she hugs him in greeting when she sees his hangdog expression.

Adam and Sally hug.
CBS

The GCAC Dining Room

Nick is at the bar when Lily walks into the dining room. He calls out a greeting and asks how things are… How’s Mattie?

Lily says Mattie’s good.

Lily Winters talks with Nick Newman.
CBS

Nick says it must have made all the difference in the world to Mattie to know she could still lean on her mother.

Lily says it was nice to see her… Even though she’s an adult, Mattie needed her mom, so she had to be there for her! She asks if Nick’s meeting someone, and if not, they should have lunch together.

Nick says he was just going to pick something up but thinks having lunch together would be a good idea… Especially since Lily’s buying!

Lily laughs and says that’s presumptuous of him. They head to a table arm-in-arm.

Lily and Nick smile and interlock arms.
CBS

A bit later, they’re sitting and talking about their businesses.

Lily says Chancellor-Winters has Newman Enterprises beat for “unpredictability.”

Nick isn’t sure about that and gives an example. He says Victor has him and Adam working closely together while Victoria is taking a break.

Nick Newman.
CBS

Lily laughs. He’s working together with Adam? She says it’s clearly going well… There are no black eyes or bandages!

Nick says it’s been surprisingly good; neither he nor Adam wants to hear about it from Victor if they can’t make it work.

Lily laughs and says she doesn’t have anything that could top that… For now!

Lily Winters.
CBS

Nick smiles and asks how she and Daniel are doing.

Lily says they broke up; Daniel and Heather are back together.

Crimson Lights

Billy and Chelsea enter the coffee shop and take a seat at a table. Billy says he wasn’t expecting her home so soon; did they get Connor settled in?

Chelsea says they did; they brought Connor’s stuff to his room and she made his bed the way he likes it, but things are more complicated than they expected.

Billy and Chelsea enter the coffee shop.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Sally asks Adam why he’s back so soon… Wasn’t he planning to be gone for a week or so?

Adam says the doctors made them leave.

Adam Newman and Sally Spectra.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Chelsea tells Billy that the facility is different than she expected. It was big, but felt warm and welcoming. She says there were boys there of Connor’s age, and they seemed at home.

Billy says it sounds like it’s a good place.

Billy Abbott talks with Chelsea Lawson.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Adam tells Sally the facility is just what the website promised… Polished, upscale, and inviting on the surface, but when you look past it, it’s just a shiny package to help sell their “elite” brand of therapy for money.

Sally says their reputation is “stellar.”

Sally Spectra.
CBS

Adam says anyone can pay for reputation… That’s what P.R. is for!

Sally asks why they made Adam and Chelsea leave.

Adam doesn’t want to get into it.

Adam Newman.
CBS

Sally says she understands if he needs time, but she can’t help him if he doesn’t tell her what happened.

Adam says Connor had his first session with the main OCD specialist. He and Chelsea met briefly with the specialist, who had diplomas all over his walls… For all Adam knows, those diplomas could be forgeries!

Crimson Lights

Chelsea tells Billy that after Connor’s session with the “highly educated and decorated” specialist, they met with the doctors and the family therapist, who briefed them on the specialists’ conclusions.

Chelsea talks to Billy.
CBS

She says they were kind and knowledgeable, and it was encouraging… At first.

Billy asks what happened after that.

Chelsea says the doctors encouraged them to allow their team to take over for the next few weeks without Chelsea or Adam around.

Billy Abbott.
CBS

Billy doesn’t understand why they’d ask for Adam and Chelsea to leave.

Chelsea says the doctors told them that she and Adam were some of the triggers for Connor’s OCD.

Sally’s Suite

Adam tells Sally that the doctors blamed him and Chelsea for Connor’s OCD; according to the doctors, he and Chelsea did this to their son!

Adam Newman.
CBS

The GCAC Dining Room

Nick tells Lily he’s sorry; he didn’t know about her and Daniel’s breakup. He says it’s okay to be angry about it, and he’s saying that as a person who’s been on the other side of things with Adam and Sally. He says it hurt for a while afterward.

Nicholas Newman.
CBS

Lily says she can only imagine… Adam is his brother, and not only do they work together, but they must have very awkward family gatherings!

Nick cringes and says that it was “fun” in the beginning, but he’s good now. Things have gotten better, and Sally and Adam seem happy. Nick says he’s moving forward and doesn’t expect Lily to get there yet, but she should be happy she doesn’t have to deal with those family gatherings… They’re like throwing salt in the wound.

Lily Winters.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Sally asks Adam how the doctors can blame him and Chelsea for Connor’s OCD… How could they diagnose that so quickly?

Adam says they didn’t give an “official diagnosis,” and it wouldn’t matter if they did… He doesn’t believe a word that comes out of their mouths!

Sally Spectra.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Billy asks why the therapists think Chelsea and Adam are triggering his OCD.

Chelsea says Connor told the doctors they were triggering him; apparently, Chelsea’s psychotic breakdown had caused him trauma and guilt, and his OCD has him convinced that her attempt to take her own life was his fault.

Chelsea Lawson talks to Billy Abbott.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Adam tells Sally that the doctors, who only spent a minute with Connor, have determined that Connor sees himself as a bad son and blames himself for his parents’ problems.

Adam talks with Sally.
CBS

Sally says it sounds wrong; that’s a “brutal” conclusion to reach after meeting him for such a short time—unless that didn’t come from Connor. She asks if it did.

Adam says the doctors “claimed” it did, but they don’t have any credibility with Adam… He’s not buying it! He says they’re charging him and Chelsea an outrageous amount of money and telling them they’re to blame! He thinks it’s a scam; the guiltier they can make the parents feel for screwing up their kids, the more they’ll pay the facility to fix the kids… No wonder they’re so successful!

Sally says he knows as well as she does that he’ll pay whatever they ask if they can help Connor. It’s not about the money; it’s about Adam’s pain.

Sally talks to Adam.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Billy tells Chelsea he can imagine it must be devastating for her, but she needs to remember that this is only temporary… Things are starting to get better right now.

Billy Abbott.
CBS

Chelsea asks if he really believes that.

Billy says he does. He says she had a good feeling about the facility and thinks Connor is in good hands, so they need to trust the facility’s reputation, and Chelsea needs to trust her instincts. He says it’s understandable for them to want to separate Connor from any possible triggers; maybe they’re trying to rule out whether or not Chelsea and/or Adam are triggers.

Chelsea says she never thought about it that way. She’ll keep that in mind because it breaks her heart to think that her son is in so much pain because of her.

Chelsea has a tear in her eye as she talks to Billy.
CBS

The GCAC Dining Room

Nick tells Lily he’s had time to get over his breakup with Sally, and seeing her with his brother is getting easier. He says Lily and Daniel’s breakup is still fresh, but a person’s heart can mend itself if they let the past be in the past. He says he’ll shut up now… She doesn’t need to hear this from him; she’s dealt with heartbreak before… She knows the drill!

Nick Newman talks with Lily Winters.
CBS

Lily says it’s a good reminder; she needs to hear that. She says she won’t let it hold her back… She wants to focus on Chancellor-Winters and bettering herself.

Nick says he’s trying to do the same with Newman Enterprises. He says it’s good that Lily’s not wallowing in self-pity like others would.

Lily laughs and says she was thinking how Billy had said she had a “fighting spirit,” and she needed to hear it.

Lily Winters.
CBS

Nick says Billy seems to have some wisdom… That’s a good thing.

Lily says Billy has some “insane” ideas, as well.

Nick doesn’t doubt it… Anything can sound crazy if you’re not ready to hear it!

Nick Newman.
CBS

Crimson Lights

Billy asks Chelsea what the doctors said was next for Connor.

Billy sits and talks with Chelsea.
CBS

Chelsea explains they will treat Connor with ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention). She explains that they’ll have Connor in a controlled environment where they can slowly expose him to his fears and triggers, one at a time, and teach him how to deal with them.

Billy asks if they’re trying to build up Connor’s “toolkit” so his OCD isn’t in control.

Chelsea nods and says it’s done under a doctor’s guidance so that the compulsions become some of his thoughts, not his only thoughts.

Chelsea Lawson.
CBS

Billy says it sounds intense.

Tears spill down Chelsea’s face. She says it’s overwhelming because her child has to be scared and “in agony” to get better.

Billy reassures Chelsea that they’re trained specialists who have helped many people before Connor. He says they’ll go slow and won’t give Connor any more than he can handle. He says Connor will not only get through it, but he’ll amaze Chelsea when he comes home. He says he won’t let her go through it alone.

Billy Abbott smiles at Chelsea.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Adam tells Sally he wanted to ask the doctors if they had children… How would they feel if they were banned from seeing them during the scariest time of their lives? He says they told him and Chelsea in “quiet and condescending voices” that it was better for their son if they stayed away from him. He says he wanted to pull Connor out of the facility and sue them into bankruptcy.

Adam waves his arm angrily as he talks to Sally.
CBS

Sally says he won’t sue them; it might feel good to “go ballistic,” but Adam’s focus and energy must be on his son… Not a lawsuit that Connor would probably blame himself for!

Adam says Chelsea was a wreck in the meeting, and Connor was on edge. Adam was having problems dealing with it all… He just wanted to explode!

Sally says he didn’t explode, and he should be proud of his ability to control his impulses when necessary.

Adam and Sally sit and talk.
CBS

Adam says he doesn’t know what to do.

Sally says of course he doesn’t… He’s never been through anything like this before, which is why he needs to give himself a chance to calm down and let everything settle in. He needs to do nothing until he’s given his mind a chance to clear.

Adam says he’s going to ask her a question, and he needs her to tell him the truth… Is he wrong? Is he angry at the wrong people? Is there a chance the doctors could be right?

Adam talks to Sally.
CBS

Sally says she’s not qualified to answer that question.

Adam says he needs to know if they’re right… Did he fail his son? Is Connor better off without him?

Crimson Lights

Chelsea thanks Billy; he’s done so much for her.

Chelsea talks with Billy.
CBS

Billy says he hates to ask, but how has Adam been dealing with it?

Chelsea says Adam barely kept it together, which didn’t help her… She was worried about Connor and was a nervous wreck about whether Adam would “lose it” or not.

Billy says she had a good feeling about the facility and has reason to trust and believe Connor is in good hands.

Chelsea says it devastates her that the only way to help her son right now is to stay away from him.

Billy smiles at Chelsea as they talk.
CBS

Sally’s Suite

Adam tells Sally that if he’s responsible for Connor’s struggles, he should remove himself from his life. He was out of Connor’s life for a long time, and maybe Connor was better off for it! He’ll be damned if he’s going to be responsible for causing him more pain than he’s already going through… Maybe he was never meant to be a father!

Sally tells Adam he was meant to be Connor’s father. Who else could love him more or be more fiercely protective than Adam? Everyone knows that Connor is Adam’s heart and soul!

Adam Newman and Sally Spectra.
CBS

Adam says he’d die for Connor.

Sally tells him to live for him. He needs to be Connor’s champion and give him everything he needs to fight this.

Adam asks how Connor is meant to fight it… How will he manage without his parents? Adam wants to fix it for him; he can’t stand the thought that Connor will have to live with this for the rest of his life.

Adam buries his head in his hand as he talks with Sally.
CBS

The Residential Facility

Connor sits on a bench on the facility grounds. He taps rhythmically on a water bottle, counting. Once he reaches his desired count, he rubs sanitizer on his hands.

Connor Newman sits on a bench in front of the residential facility.
CBS

Next Week on The Young and the Restless

Lily tells Daniel that Princess Louisa has served its purpose. It’s just another game, and she owns it.

Traci Abbott talks to Jack and Diane.
