Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Kyle jumped in bed with Audra while Nick comforted Summer over her relationship woes.
The Genoa City Athletic Club
Summer sits down at a table with Michael. She asks him where her mom is and what he’s got planned for her.
Michael doesn’t know where Phyllis is, but she was concerned about Summer.
He says they had a productive talk about her legal options while she ate the chocolate-covered strawberries, and then she left without telling him where she was going.
Summer says her mom sent her a text that she might have found a way out of her mess. She asks Michael if that’s true and if Phyllis can come home soon.
Sharon’s House
Sharon is trying to put on a necklace when there’s a knock at the door. She’s startled and walks timidly to the door. She asks who’s there, and Nick calls out.
He drops off a box and makes a joke that he’s the delivery man.
Sharon asks about his first day on leave and asks whether he’d like a coffee.
Nick says that a box was left at the gate for her. He puts the box down on the table.
Sharon says she needs some help with putting on a necklace. She knows he’s good at it.
Nick says no problem and helps her put on the necklace.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle thinks back to his time with Audra the night before.
Jack walks into the room and says, “Are you thinking what I am? That what happened last night should never have happened?”
Sharon’s House
Nick tells Sharon he always loved that necklace.
Sharon says he should; he gave it to her years ago. She says Nick doesn’t need to check on her… She’s fine, just like she was last night when they talked on the phone.
Nick says he just wanted to see for himself that Sharon was alright.
Sharon says that little noises or flashes of light are sending her “back into the nightmare”. She says that then she remembers that things are ok and it’s over. She asks whether Nick has talked to Faith.
Nick says that Faith is back in touch with her friends, and everything’s good. He wishes that his other daughter was doing so well.
Sharon asks what’s up with Summer.
Nick says that Summer is having problems because of keeping Phyllis’s secret.
Sharon asks how long Nick is on leave.
Nick says that Victoria seemed to indicate his leave was indefinite.
Sharon says he can always come back and work at the coffee house. She laughs and says he refilled the sugar containers better than anyone.
Sharon says she has to go to work. She looks over and sees the box that Nick left. She frowns and says it’s from an out-of-state law firm.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle asks Jack what he meant when he said last night shouldn’t have happened.
Jack says he was talking about the rift in their family. He says that he understands the pain that Kyle must be feeling because Phyllis forced Summer’s hand.
Kyle says that Summer wasn’t forced. She piled one lie on top of another, which involved his mother’s life and future.
Jack says Summer wants to make amends.
Kyle asks what she could do to make amends. He says that he was desperate to talk to Summer, and she shut him out and disregarded his feelings.
Jack asks if Kyle is so hurt he can’t get over it.
Kyle says that Summer is her mother’s daughter and doesn’t think he can trust her again.
He says he asked Summer to move out… They’re separating.
The GCAC
Michael tells Summer he’s planning to bring Phyllis back; they need her chaos in their life.
He says he begged her to turn herself in and told her she was loved and missed. He tells Summer that Phyllis thinks Christine will charge her with more crimes out of spite.
Summer says that even if there are legal consequences, it’s got to be easier than the insecurity her mom is going through now. She says there’s going to be collateral damage from Phyllis’s interference.
Michael asks what she’s talking about.
Summer says she might need a lawyer herself.
Sharon’s House
Sharon opens the box. There’s an envelope inside, which contains a letter from Cameron’s lawyer. She reads it aloud.
Dear Ms. Newman, I represent the estate of Cameron Kirsten. Per his instructions, I am authorized to forward you the items in this box in the event of Cameron’s death.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack is surprised that Kyle and Summer are separating. He thought their relationship was healing.
Kyle says he’s not putting off the inevitable any longer. He says Summer would still be lying to him if she hadn’t been caught.
Jack says there’s been a lot of forgiveness in the house, even for crimes bigger than Summer’s.
Kyle says when he sees Summer, he sees someone who didn’t trust him enough to be honest with him. He says there’s no coming back from that.
The GCAC
Michael asks why Summer needs legal representation.
Summer says she hasn’t been straight with him.
Michael groans and asks what she did.
Summer says that Phyllis reached out to her first instead of Daniel, and she hid it for a long time. She brought Phyllis clothes and food, amongst other things. She wonders how many laws she broke.
Summer goes on to say that she spoke with Chance about what she might be charged with.
Michael is incredulous. He tells her to never talk to the police about crimes you’ve committed, even as a friend.
Summer says that it was a hypothetical question to Chance.
Michael asks if there’s any more collateral damage that she hasn’t mentioned.
Summer says Kyle hates her.
Michael says Kyle could never hate her.
Summer says she lied to Kyle for weeks and pushed him away. She says she might need a divorce attorney too.
Michael says they have a child; Kyle will come around.
Summer tells Michael that Kyle asked for a separation.
The GCAC
Audra walks down the stairs and sees Michael and Summer talking in the restaurant. She flashes back to her time with Kyle the night before.
She walks into the restaurant and comes up to their table. She says, “Excuse me” and introduces herself.
Summer knows who Audra is. She says that Audra broke her brother’s heart.
Audra smiles and says she knows Michael, as well.
Michael says he knows her from the acquisition deal at Chancellor-Winters.
Summer says she hasn’t seen Audra since the gala.
Audra says that it was a terrible night with Summer having to deal with her mother’s death, but says she’s heard that Phyllis is alive now. She says that she’s glad that Summer has her family and her husband’s support to help her through such terrible times.
Summer asks if there’s something Audra wants.

The Abbott Mansion
Jack says that he knows that anger can blind a person. He suggests that Kyle takes some time to let the anger dissipate, and then he can evaluate the situation at that point.
Kyle says that Summer will always side with her mother rather than side with him or his mother. He asks how his already-broken marriage can survive this chaos.
Sharon’s House
Sharon says that this can’t be happening… Packages arriving from Cameron are freaking her out.
Nick says they can throw it out… They can burn it and put it out of their minds.
Sharon says they should go through it first and see what’s inside. She says that no matter what’s in the box, Cameron can’t hurt them anymore.
They start going through the box, and Nick pulls out a journal.
Nick says it seems like Cameron was journalling his teenage angst. He reads from the notebook. “I’m gonna be rich, so rich nobody can stop me. I’ll marry the most beautiful woman in the world and leave the suckers behind.“
Nick puts the notebook aside.
Sharon pulls out a dog collar and finds a small vial that probably contains the dog’s ashes.
Nick says he never pictured Cameron as a dog lover.
Sharon pulls out a picture with the faces torn out of it. She puts it aside.
Nick finds a manilla envelope containing some corporate paperwork for Kirsten Incorporated. He gives it to Sharon, who looks it over.
Sharon tells Nick that Cameron’s business has been signed over to her.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Kyle there are no easy answers.
Kyle says Phyllis will come to town, Michael will do his thing, and Phyllis will get off with no consequences. He says Summer will still hate Diane, and Phyllis will manipulate Summer… He can’t let that happen to him and Harrison.
Jack says he’s worried about Harrison.
Kyle says he felt like an idiot getting fooled by Summer… And Summer was willing to put Harrison in the middle of the drama.
Jack says Summer seems remorseful.
Kyle says Summer just used her tears to keep Phyllis’s dirty little secret. He rants that Summer sacrificed his mother to protect her own.
Kyle then talks about Diane. He says that Jack needs to watch out… If Diane was willing to lie to him about Harrison, there’s no telling what she’ll do when Phyllis comes back. He says Diane will do what she can to ruin Phyllis’s life.
Jack says he’s thought about that… It could be an issue.
Kyle says he’ll do everything he can to protect his son; that’s why he’s adamant that he and Summer separate.
The GCAC
Audra tells Summer that she just wanted to offer her condolences if Summer’s mother really is gone. She leaves.
Michael says that Audra is a piece of work.
Summer asks if it’s her imagination… Does everyone want to talk to her about her mother?
Sharon’s House
Nick wonders if the paperwork for Cameron’s company is legitimate.
Sharon says it was dated last year, and says that in some twisted way, it makes sense.
She says the attorney wants her to contact him to arrange the transfer.
Nick says that it’s Cameron’s way of reaching out to her after death.
Sharon says it’s like blood money. Even if it’s worth a fortune, she’s done with Cameron’s manipulation. She throws the paper on the ground.
Crimson Lights
Kyle comes into the coffee shop and sees Mariah there.
Mariah sees he’s troubled and says it’s “Cloudy with a chance of Summer being a bitch.”
Kyle says he needs to talk with her.
Mariah sits down at a table. She says that her baby’s cute, and she’s getting coffee… What’s up with Kyle?
Kyle says that he had found out where Phyllis was and told the police, but by the time they went back, Summer had helped Phyllis escape.
Mariah says of course she did. She says Phyllis “only” killed a man and faked her death, nothing to see there!
Kyle says that Summer lied to his face for weeks and now wants him to forgive her.
Mariah says Summer is sorry that she got caught, but isn’t sorry for what she did. She says that Kyle and Summer had built a life together.
Kyle says he can’t trust that Summer will put her marriage and their son first, and Kyle refuses to be with someone like that.
Mariah says she’s not surprised.
Kyle says that Summer talked to Diane and asked her to intervene to get Kyle back together with Summer… How crazy is that?
Mariah says that Summer talked to her too, but she told Summer that Kyle was too good for her. She says that even though the situation is screwed up, Summer still loves him, and she thinks that Kyle might love her too.
Kyle says love has nothing to do with it; it’s about trust. He tells her that he told Summer he wants a separation and asked her to move out.
The Abbott Mansion
Summer walks into the house, and Jack says hello.
Summer says that she never meant this to happen… She’s made a mess of things.
Jack hugs her and says she was in a difficult situation.
Summer says she could have gotten the charges dropped against Diane sooner, and Jack must hate her too.
Jack says he could never hate her.
Summer says that everything she does is pushing Kyle away more, and she betrayed everything that Kyle thought their marriage was about.
Jack says Kyle is deeply hurt.
Summer says she loves Kyle, but he doesn’t want to hear it. She doesn’t want a separation and doesn’t want to leave the Abbott house, and doesn’t want to leave Harrison and her family either.
Jack says there’s no forcing forgiveness. He says that Kyle needs some time to cool down, and maybe it’s best for both of them to have time apart.
Sharon’s House
Sharon says, “Enough of Cameron!” She asks Nick how Sally is doing.
Nick says Sally is really struggling.
Sharon says Adam is struggling too, and she wishes that Sally and Adam could share their pain over the loss of their baby, as it would probably help them both.
Nick says Sally blames Adam, and Nick told Adam that he needs to stay away from Sally.
Sharon says Adam still loves Sally.
Nick says that Adam’s just being Adam. He looks pointedly at the box that Cameron sent and says that some people don’t just know when to fade into the woodwork.
The Abbott Mansion
Jack tells Summer he remembers when Summer was born and has loved her ever since. He says that even though he loves Summer, he loves his son as well and will support whatever decision Kyle makes.
Summer says she wouldn’t expect anything less. She’s ruined everything. She says that Marchetti will suffer if Kyle and her separate because how can they possibly work together if their marriage is a bust?
Jack says it won’t be easy; personal things need to take a backseat to the company. He says that she’s the driving force behind the brand, and if they separate, Kyle will have to step away instead of Summer.
Crimson Lights
Mariah asks if Kyle’s having second thoughts about Summer.
Kyle says he’s not; he can’t build a life with someone he doesn’t trust.
Mariah says he’s doing the right thing for himself and Harrison.
She leaves Kyle in the cafe.
Audra walks in and whispers a “hello” in Kyle’s ear. He smiles.
Next week on The Young and the Restless
Victor gives Audra a serious warning.
Summer and Kyle discuss their separation with Harrison.
Sharon tells Nick she has an idea, but Nick needs to get his hands dirty. He’s agreeable and tells her, “Whatever it takes!”
