Today’s Young and the Restless recap airs in the USA on Friday, March 29, 2024, and airs one day ahead in Canada. We post our Y&R recaps every weekday!
Last Episode
On the last episode of Y&R, Jordan escaped from the hospital, and Kyle asked Claire to tell him everything about her past.
The Genoa City Athletic Club (GCAC)
Tucker is sitting at the bar when Jack walks in. Tucker asks Jack if he has a minute to talk.
Jack says he doesn’t have a minute for Tucker.
Tucker says it’s important. He asks Jack to sit with him.
Jack says he’s been coming to the club his whole life and enjoying it, but he’s getting fed up with the increasing likelihood of running into Tucker. He asks why Tucker is still in Genoa City… Shouldn’t he be in Paris running Glissade?
Tucker says there’s a cool new invention called The Internet that lets you work remotely.
Jack says Tucker should use it to get a one-way ticket to France so he can meet his employees face-to-face. Doesn’t he want them to get to know the real Tucker McCall?
Tucker says he’s considered moving Glissade to the States.
Society
Claire tells Kyle she’s not sure telling him her story will improve his outlook on her. When she first met Summer and Kyle with Harrison, they seemed to hit it off, but now, he knows there’s more to her than marshmallows and bad kids’ jokes.
Kyle says he’d like to hear about her.
Claire figures he wants to know how a “nice girl” like her ended up trying to poison her long-lost family.
Kyle laughs and says there has to be a story behind it.
Claire says there is… Her whole life since birth was controlled by her deranged aunt.
Newman Enterprises
Victor is on the phone with his security people. He tells them he doesn’t want to hear any more excuses; they need to find that woman! He hangs up the phone and tells Nick that Jordan has escaped the hospital.
Nick says he’s sick of the incompetence. A police detail and Victor’s security guards were stationed outside her room; how could they let her escape?
Victor slams his desk in frustration. He’d had her trapped in a cell where she could rot; he should have never let Nikki, Victoria, and Claire see her.
Nikki walks in and says she feels terrible enough as is. She says Jordan is free to hunt them again, and it’s all her fault.
Nick closes the door and says Nikki can’t blame herself… Nothing could have prepared any of them for Jordan to escape again.
Victor asks how Nikki found out before he did.
Nikki says his security team called her at the ranch. They couldn’t reach Victor, and she’s glad they alerted her so she could prepare.
Victor asks why she came to the office when the ranch is secured against intrusion.
Nikki says she was a nervous wreck; every little sound made her jump out of her skin. She had to get out and be with people!
Victor asks if Larry, the security guard, is with her. Nikki shakes her head. Victor says she shouldn’t have come alone. He asks if she stopped anywhere on the way in.
Nikki thinks Victor is asking if she stopped for a drink.
Nick says he’s sure that’s not what Victor meant.
Nikki says she didn’t have a drink, but with Jordan out there, she’s desperate for some booze.
Society
Kyle asks Claire if she had always known her aunt was “troubled.”
Claire says she didn’t. Jordan raised her from birth because she kidnapped her, but Claire wasn’t aware of that… She only knew her as the person who fed her and kept her safe, so she trusted her completely.
Kyle nods. She never suspected anything.
Claire says she was just a kid, and Jordan told her that her parents didn’t want her and were happy to pretend she’d never existed. Jordan told Claire she loved her, and Claire believed it. She didn’t know someone could say that and then willingly break your heart.
Kyle says it’s hard to understand how someone could put a child through so much pain.
Claire says there’s no explaining it except that it was the act of a vicious, vindictive person. She says Jordan hated Victor, Nikki, and the whole Newman family, and she made sure that Claire did, too. Claire’s sole purpose in life was to get payback.
Kyle says that it was payback for something that never even happened.
Claire says Jordan pulled her into her lies and made her an accomplice to her crimes; she almost killed her entire family.
Kyle says she didn’t, though.
Claire says she still hates herself for the trauma that she’d put them through… Especially Nikki.
Kyle says it sounds like the Newmans know Claire’s not to blame… Jordan is.
Claire says it’s incredible that they’d forgiven her and welcomed her. She says she owes it to them to work hard in therapy; they gave her a second chance, and she gets to build a real life for herself.
Kyle says she’s right; that’s quite the story.
Claire asks if it’s too far-fetched for him to believe. She bets he still thinks she’s a “crazy criminal.”
Victoria comes back to the table and apologizes for taking the call. She had to take care of an issue with a payment to her kids’ school.
Kyle says it’s fine; it gave him time to get to know Claire better.
Victoria thinks that’s “wonderful,” but Claire isn’t so sure.
The GCAC Dining Room
Jack hopes Tucker moving Glissade to Genoa City is a joke.
Tucker wonders if the town isn’t big enough for the two of them… He loves a challenge.
Jack says Glissade is no competition for Jabot. He says Tucker should feel free to throw his money away; he’d love to have a ringside seat to see Tucker’s ambitions implode.
Tucker says this isn’t what he wants to talk to Jack about. He wants to talk about Ashley.
Jack says he told Tucker to stay away from her.
Tucker says Ashley sought him out.
Jack tells him not to interpret her kindness as a sign they’re getting back together.
Tucker says that’s the point… He doesn’t see sincerity in her behavior.
Jack says Ashley was kind enough to admit she misread their fight. Does Tucker think Ashley still has feelings for him? He says their “sham” marriage ended in Paris, and there won’t be a third act for them.
Tucker says he couldn’t agree more; he and Ashley are finished, but he’s worried about her; she’s falling apart!
Jack says Tucker has a lot of nerve to judge Ashley’s emotional state.
Tucker says Ashley is not herself. It started with her misremembering Paris, but lately, something behind Ashley’s eyes is unfamiliar to him. He says she acts one way, and then suddenly, she’s changed. He gives an example of how she’d texted him saying she wanted nothing to do with him, but an hour later, she told him she wanted to get back together again. He says he’s worried about her behavior… Isn’t Jack worried, too?
Jack says it would worry him if he thought it was true.
Tucker asks how he couldn’t have noticed; is he that oblivious to what’s going on with his sister?
Jack tells him to quit trying to play mind games with him.
Tucker slams his hand on the counter in frustration. He’s not playing mind games! He says Ashley needs help… Now!
Jack says Tucker lost the right to tell Ashley anything. She achieved clarity in Paris, and maybe she didn’t remember things as they happened, but she wants nothing to do with him; she made that very clear to Jack this morning.
Tucker asks Jack if that was before or after Ashley had told Tucker she wanted to partner with him.
Jack sputters. She obviously only wanted to partner with Tucker at Glissade!
Tucker says Jack needs to listen to him… She told him she wanted to partner with him in all things. He asks what Jack thinks about that.
Jack says he was worried that she’d forgive Tucker and get sucked back into his orbit, but she’s made it clear that’s not going to happen and told Jack she didn’t want her big brother meddling in her affairs.
Tucker says he thinks Ashley wants Jack to meddle in her affairs. Tucker hopes Jack will step in to help, because he can’t.
Jack’s phone pings with a notification. He tells Tucker to leave Ashley for her family to deal with and warns him to stay away from her. He leaves the club.
Society
Victoria says it’s nice to see Claire having a “normal” conversation with someone closer to her age. She tells Kyle that Claire has been spending a lot of time with her parents and grandparents, so it’s nice to see her make friends outside the family.
Cole walks in and approaches the table. He asks Victoria if she’s spoken to her father yet… Victor was trying to reach her, and so was he.
Victoria says she was on a call; their messages went to voicemail.
Cole says he’d like to speak to Victoria and Claire alone.
Claire says that if he wants to talk about Jordan, he can do so in front of Kyle; she’s told Kyle the whole story.
Kyle says it sounds like a family matter; he’d better get back to Harrison.
Claire says that’s the reaction she was waiting for from Kyle; he should run.
Kyle says he’s impressed with how she’s bounced back. He says he’s not running, he’s giving them privacy.
Claire thanks him and Kyle leaves the restaurant.
Cole takes a seat.
Victoria asks what’s going on.
Claire figures it out right away… Jordan escaped, didn’t she?
Newman Enterprises
Victor says that out of everything Jordan put them through, he hates most that she made Nikki want to drink again.
Nick suggests they should do something to distract Nikki and suggests they get a coffee together.
Nikki says she doesn’t want them to worry. She shouldn’t have said anything.
Nick says lying about her urge to drink won’t help her.
Nikki says the best thing they can do is to ensure Jordan is caught as soon as possible; until then, she’ll find ways to cope. She saw Jack earlier, which was helpful, but that was before she heard the news about Jordan’s escape. She says she’s texted him to see if he can meet her at an AA meeting she will attend right away. She looks pointedly at Victor and says she’ll go straight to the meeting.
Nick says Victor ordered his security team and the police to find Jordan… They will find her.
Victor says Jordan will stay away from their family and Genoa City if she has any sense.
Nick says they’ll have to do something to stop her for good if she’s stupid enough to come near them again.
Victor says he’s texting Larry, who will escort Nikki wherever she goes.
Nikki says she can’t stop thinking that she should have left Jordan to die.
Nick tells her she has morals and humanity, both of which Jordan lacks and can’t take away from them.
A bit later, Nikki and Victor have left the offices, and Nick is sitting at the desk, working, when Sally walks in.
Nick tells Sally that Adam isn’t there.
Sally says she wasn’t looking for Adam; she wants to talk to Nick and Victor.
Nick says Victor has a lot going on; it’s not the best time to talk to him about bringing her design company into the Newman fold.
Sally takes a seat and says it’s not about that. She says Adam is flying out with Chelsea to get Connor settled, and he’s scrambling to line things up beforehand.
Nick says he hasn’t spoken to Adam in a few days but knows there’s a new development.
Sally says Adam and Chelsea are sending Connor to a treatment facility in Maryland and had to move quickly to secure a spot. She told Adam she’d talk to Nick and Victor about it so he wouldn’t have to deal with it before he left.
Sally says she’s there on her own mission. She wants to make sure Nick and Victor both support Adam; he’s really struggling with it.
Nick says that won’t be a problem; he feels for what Adam’s going through and will be there for him if he needs anything. He thinks Adam and Chelsea should take the Newman jet, and he’ll talk to Victor to make sure it’s cleared.
Sally thanks him and asks if Nick and Adam are getting along better. She says Adam told her things were going well at the office, but she figures there must still be some tension between them.
Nick says Adam wasn’t lying… They’re good!
Sally’s glad. She stands up and says she’ll find Victor and talk to him.
Nick says he doesn’t think Victor should hear about Connor from Sally… Connor is his grandson, and Victor won’t take it well if he hears about his condition third-hand.
Sally asks what Nick suggests she does; she promised Adam she’d take it off his plate.
Nick says she shouldn’t say anything; he’ll handle it.
An AA Meeting
Nikki tells her AA group that the woman responsible for her nightmare was finally arrested. She says Jordan burned down her daughter’s house, stole an innocent child, and has infiltrated every part of her life, including her AA meetings, going as far as to kill Seth.
Nikki says when Jordan was found, she felt she could breathe again, but she got a call that Jordan had escaped from the hospital. She says her hope that her life could go back to normal is gone, and she’s hanging by a thread once again. She says she wants to drink herself into oblivion; she feels like a tsunami is sweeping her away, and the only thing keeping her sane is the AA program.
Jack walks into the meeting as she talks.
Nikki says she doesn’t understand why Jordan is allowed to wreak such havoc… Why can’t anyone stop her? She says it’s unfair; Jordan is her worst nightmare, and she can’t wake up from it. She says everyone keeps praising her for her strength and moral fiber, but it’s not true. She hates Jordan and prayed she’d rot in jail and would spend the rest of her life suffering for what she’d done, but she prayed for the wrong thing; she wishes Jordan were dead.
Jack takes her hand to comfort her.
Newman Ranch
Nikki and Jack walk into the house. Nikki thanks Jack for escorting her to the house, though Larry is back on her security detail.
Jack says he’s not there for her safety. He figured she’d want to talk in private.
Nikki says there’s not much more to say after the meeting.
Jack says it seemed like what she’d said at the meeting was the tip of the iceberg.
Nikki says it feels like it’s too much for her.
Jack says he never intended to pressure her by telling her she was strong and moral.
Nikki says it’s not just Jack who says it… Nick does, too. She says it feels like a lie since the only reason she called 911 was to prolong Jordan’s suffering.
Victor walks into the room. He says he’s glad Jack made it to the meeting, but he can take it from here.
Jack nods. He tells Nikki to call him if she needs to talk. He leaves the living room, followed by Victor.
In the foyer, Victor tells Jack that Nikki looks worse than before she attended the meeting.
Jack says the meeting took a lot out of her, but he thinks it did her good.
Victor says it doesn’t seem that way.
Jack reminds him that progress doesn’t happen quickly. He leaves the house.
Victor goes back to the living room and sits with Nikki. He asks Nikki to be honest with him; are these meetings too much for her?
Nikki says she feels better, but she’s scared. Fighting the urge to drink is a constant war, and she worries it will get worse.
Victor gently kisses her hand and promises they’ll get through it together. He has a plan which will work on two fronts.
Society
Victoria asks Cole if Nikki knows about Jordan’s escape.
Cole says he’s not sure; Victor reached out to him when he couldn’t get ahold of Victoria, and Cole promised to talk to Victoria and Claire about it.
Claire can’t believe this is happening again.
Victoria wonders if they made a “huge” mistake by confronting Jordan and wonders if they were the cause of her escaping.
Crimson Lights
Nick walks into the coffee shop and sees Adam sitting at a table. He sits down with Adam and says he was looking for him; didn’t he get his texts?
Adam says he’s been under the gun; he’s been trying to get a flight for them, but it’s hard to find one in time.
Nick says Sally told him what’s happening, and he’s glad they’ve found a good facility for Connor. He tells Adam to take the jet; the crew is ready whenever they need to leave.
Adam sighs and thanks him… It’s a huge weight off his shoulders!
Nick says he wishes there was more he could do. He asks how Adam is doing.
Adam says everything happened so fast, but he’s pushing through.
Nick asks how Connor is.
Adam says Connor is terrified and angry with them, but he’s agreed to give the program a shot.
Nick asks if there’s anything Adam or Chelsea need.
Adam says they’ve got everything covered now that they have a way there. He says Chelsea handled everything with the facility and is trying to keep herself busy so she doesn’t fall apart.
Nick nods. Understandable.
Adam says it’s been rough on them; they both wondered if they’d missed something and how it’d come to this. Adam worries that Chelsea is being even harder on herself, given her struggles. He’s worried that she might spin out.
Nick says Adam shouldn’t go there… Chelsea will need his support without him worrying about her frame of mind; he’s sure Billy is stepping up and supporting Chelsea.
Adam nods and says Billy is always in the background, giving his two cents to Chelsea and Connor.
Nick reminds Adam that Billy isn’t Connor’s dad; Adam is, and it’s not a competition. If Billy is supporting Chelsea and Connor, Adam needs to accept that. Everyone who can help Connor should.
Adam nods and says Nick’s right.
Nick says he’s in Adam’s corner, too… He only needs to ask him for whatever he needs.
Adam says he’s glad Nick found him; he didn’t realize he’d needed a pep talk!
Nick says he wants to talk about something else, too… Adam had asked Sally to talk to Victor about it, but Nick doesn’t think she should.
Adam says Victor would want to know about it… What’s the problem?
Nick says Adam needs to tell Victor about it; not Sally or even Nick… And he needs to do it before he leaves.
The Abbott Mansion
Kyle walks out of the dining room as his father arrives home. Kyle asks Jack if he knows his disagreement with his mother over some tweaks he made to her proposal.
Jack says he discussed it with Diane, and she doesn’t consider Kyle’s changes mere “tweaks.”
Kyle asks if Jack had read the first draft.
Jack nods. He did.
Kyle asks if Jack still thinks he overstepped.
Jack says he’s not getting into it; Diane and Kyle will have to work it out together.
Kyle says that’s fair, but he thinks there’s a bigger issue at play. He says Diane thinks he resents her because she’s in the co-CEO role, and she’s trying to find evidence to prove it.
Jack asks if there’s any truth to her suspicions.
Kyle nods. He says it annoys him to see Diane making mistakes; he fixed the presentation, which was clearly a rush job.
Jack says proofreading isn’t one of the COO’s job duties.
Kyle admits he’s been looking for signs that Diane isn’t up to the job; he may have been too quick to point out her mistakes.
Jack says he’s glad Kyle can see that about himself. He asks if Kyle can work things out with his mother.
Kyle nods. It’s his issue to work through, and he’ll figure it out.
Newman Ranch
Nikki asks what Victor’s plan is.
Victor asks if she knows what special day is approaching.
Nikki says of course she does; it’s the anniversary of their first wedding, but with everything that’s been going on, she’d like a “quiet” celebration.
Victor shakes his head. Nope, he wants a big party to celebrate their love. He says they should go on a trip before the party; just the two of them!
Nikki says it sounds lovely, but…
Victor says there are no buts… He wants her to get away from Jordan and Genoa City because they’re triggers that could lead her to drink.
Nikki asks what Victor meant by his plan will work on two fronts; what’s the other one?
Victor says if he and Nikki leave town, Jordan will too… She won’t have anyone to target!
Nikki says she’d love to believe that.
Victor says she should believe it.
Nikki smiles and snuggles up to Victor. She tells him to take her away from it all.
Victor says he’ll take her wherever her heart desires.
Crimson Lights
Adam tells Nick he doesn’t have time to talk to their dad right now.
Nick tells him to make time; Victor will be mad as hell that he wasn’t looped in on what Adam has been going through.
Adam says Victor has too much on his plate with Nikki, Claire, and Jordan.
Nick says it doesn’t matter; family is always their dad’s top priority, and Adam needs to talk to him and fill him in on what’s been happening with Connor.
Adam nods. He says Nick’s right; he hasn’t had time to think straight.
Nick grins and says that’s what he’s there for. He gets up to leave.
Adam thanks him for showing up for him… It means a lot.
Nick shakes Adam’s hand and wishes him a safe flight. He wishes Adam good luck and leaves the coffee shop.
Newman Ranch
Victoria, Claire, and Cole enter the house. Victoria asks her mom how she’s doing.
Nikki figures Victoria must have heard the news about Jordan.
Victoria nods.
Cole asks how they will deal with Jordan being on the loose.
Victor says the GCPD is doing everything they can to put “that woman” back behind bars.
Nikki says she and Victor have decided to take a trip to get away.
Victor says they will have a big party to celebrate their anniversary once they’re back.
Victoria wonders if the trip is a good idea… They’ll need a lot of security since Jordan could shift her focus to Claire while Nikki and Victor are gone.
Claire says that even if Jordan does shift her focus, they’ll handle her. Her grandparents deserve a vacation more than anyone!
Victoria agrees, but she’s concerned about Claire’s safety.
Claire says Jordan can’t get to her anymore; she’s not afraid of her!
Next Week on The Young and the Restless
Cole and Victoria tell Claire they’re going to show her some places and things from their life instead of telling her their stories.
Nikki is sitting and talking with Jack in Society. The bartender appears and puts a drink in front of her, saying it’s from a gentleman who left the restaurant. Nikki asks what’s in the drink.
The bartender says it’s premium triple-distilled vodka, and Nikki tells him to take it away.
Traci asks Ashley if she’s alright… Where’s she been?
Ashley tells her she doesn’t know.
