On the last episode of Y&R, Phyllis told Summer she killed Stark, Victoria & Nick clashed about Nate, and Jack fought for Diane.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley comes down the stairs and answers the door to Tucker.
He says that if her offer is serious, he’d like to move in.
Ashley says he belongs there… If he behaves.
They kiss.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Michael and Lauren sit, and Michael raises his glass in a toast. Lauren doesn’t raise hers.
He makes small talk, but Lauren’s not having it.
Michael says he’d like to restore some sense of normalcy.
Lauren says she’d love to talk about what’s going on, as this is the last place they saw Phyllis alive.
She says she’s been trying to contain herself, and wonders how Michael can justify defending the woman who murdered their best friend.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack comes up in the elevator, looking at his phone. He almost misses the doors opening and rushes out.
He comes into his office and sees Billy there working. He asks what Billy’s doing there so late.
Billy apologizes for sitting in the “big chair”.
Jack tells him not to worry, he’s happy to see him there, and he’s the co-CEO.
Billy tells him that he’ll provide him with some reports tomorrow and asks why Jack is there.
Jack says he just came from seeing Diane.
Billy says he thought that she didn’t want to see anyone.
Jack says he didn’t listen to that, and that he told her that he wanted to marry her more than ever.
Billy asks what she said.
Chancellor Park
Summer is standing alone in the dark when she hears someone come up behind her.
She calls out “Mom?”, but it’s Daniel.
Daniel says he’s there to check on her.
Summer asks Daniel if he saw Phyllis too.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley asks what the kiss was for.
Tucker says that he just felt it was the right thing to do.
He says it was a romantic gesture for her to share her home with him, and he can’t wait to see Jack’s face.
Ashley gives him a tour of the house.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Michael says she can’t possibly think that he’s defending someone who took Phyllis’s life.
Lauren says that he had refused to represent Diane before, what’s changed now?
Michael says that he wouldn’t just blithely sacrifice his relationship with Victor.
Lauren gets angry and says that he didn’t care about her feelings when he chose to defend Diane.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack says that he believed that Diane was coming home any day now, and he wanted to make Diane see that.
Billy says that she’s probably scared and overwhelmed.
Jack says he knows that… He just wanted to give her some sense of comfort.
Billy says that as much as she loves him, his proposal was a bit impulsive.
He suggests that Jack is spinning out of control right now, and he’s looking for something he can control.
Jack says that Billy shouldn’t analyze him, he was simply moving up the timetable for their engagement.
Billy says he should slow down, it’s not something he can just outrun.
Jack asks what he’s talking about.
Billy says that Jack was prepared to spend his life with “Red”, and she’s gone now, and he doesn’t think that Jack’s processed that yet.
Chancellor Park
Daniel says Summer is overwhelmed, and he thinks he knows what’s going on.
He says he sees Phyllis all the time when he passes someone on the street, sometimes out of the corner of his eye.
Summer says that it’s not like that… It was real.
Daniel says that minds can play tricks on people. Sometimes when he’s alone, he finds himself talking to her, it’s his way of staying connected to her. He has unanswered questions about her death, though.
Summer says she has answers to those questions.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack says that Billy has misconstrued things and that his wanting to marry Diane has nothing to do with Phyllis.
Billy says that Jack’s not allowing himself to understand what’s going on inside him. He says it’s been a non-stop nightmare.
Jack says that’s true, that after Phyllis’s death, Diane was arrested almost immediately.
Billy says that Jack needs to take some time for himself and that he thinks that Jack needs some more time to grieve.
Chancellor Park
Summer says that she knows that everything they believed is a lie. Phyllis isn’t dead.
Daniel says he knows she wants to believe that, but it’s not true.
Summer says that there was a scheme with Jeremy Stark, and he orchestrated the whole thing. She says that Stark forced her to set up Diane.
Daniel says that Phyllis could just come home if that was true.
Summer says that Phyllis killed Stark, and can’t come back.
She says that they have to do something… They can’t let Phyllis slip away forever.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Michael says he didn’t take Diane’s case to go against Lauren’s wishes.
He says that Victor and Nikki were against Diane, and he realized that everyone deserves legal representation, guilty or innocent. He says that he needs to make sure the system works for everybody.
Lauren says there are other defense attorneys who could have defended her.
Michael says that he’s passionate about what he does.
Lauren says the victim is Phyllis, their best friend.
Michael says Phyllis meant the world to him.
Lauren says that her killer could go free because of him and that if that happens, she doesn’t know if she’d be able to look at him again.

Chancellor Park
Daniel says that he knows how hard it is to let go, but he’ll be there for her the whole time.
Summer says he thinks she’s out of her mind.
Daniel says that he doesn’t, but he knows she feels that Phyllis is still out there.
Summer says that she is alive.
Daniel says that her relationship with Kyle is suffering, and she should go home and get some rest.
Summer asks if he thinks she’s crazy, and says that she wants to show him the truth.
She cries out for her mom and Daniel comforts her.
Jabot Cosmetics
Jack tells Billy that there was nobody like Phyllis.
Billy says she was one-of-a-kind, and that’s a good thing… The world couldn’t handle another like her!
Billy’s phone rings and he excuses himself, it’s Chelsea.
Jack starts thinking of when he was in a relationship and asked Phyllis to marry him.
In his flashback, she accepts his proposal and they kiss.
He thinks back to how she’d cheated on him with Nick.
Another memory. He was stuck in an elevator with Phyllis when she went into labor with Summer.
He remembers saying that he said he will never stop loving her.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley says that Tucker didn’t bring much in the way of luggage with him.
Tucker says that he left some at the Athletic Club, and he’ll pick it up later.
Ashley asks if he didn’t trust that her invitation was sincere.
Tucker says he just wanted to be sure. He says that with Traci, Kyle, and Summer living there as well, he’ll try to keep out of their way.
Ashley says that he should start thinking about what he wants to do next.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Michael says he knows how Lauren feels… He couldn’t live with himself if he let Phyllis’s murderer walk free.
He says that he has to trust his instincts. He feels that Diane is telling the truth, she believes she’s innocent and has been set up.
Lauren asks if he thinks Jeremy Stark should get away with setting Diane up.
Michael says that Stark’s not getting away with anything… His body washed up on the shore of a lake.
Jabot Cosmetics
Billy comes back into the office and sees that Jack is deep in thought. He asks if Jack’s ok.
Jack says that he’ll be fine, it’s just going to take a while to get over Phyllis’s death.
He wonders when Billy got so wise. He says Billy was right, he needed to look back before he moved forward.
Jack says he’s eager to marry Diane, as life is fragile and he doesn’t want to waste any time. He says he can’t let her shut him out.
Chancellor Park
Summer says she knows Daniel wants to protect her, but it’s not what she needs.
Daniel says they have to look out for each other right now.
Summer says that it sounds impossible, but he needs to see Phyllis with his own eyes.
Daniel asks if she’s planning to see Phyllis again.
Summer says that she’s not planning anything, but she knows she’ll run into her.
Daniel yells that it won’t happen… Their mother is gone.
He apologizes and says he never wanted to hurt her.
Summer says that it’s not about her feelings, that she talked to Phyllis and she told her what happened.
Daniel says what if they took the story to Christine and Chance, and that Phyllis is still alive and killed Stark.
He says if they pursue it, they hit a brick wall and they come back to them. He says that if they found Phyllis, they’d arrest her and put her in jail.
Summer asks what they can do.
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Lauren says that Phyllis and Stark’s marriage raised all sorts of red flags with her, but even if Stark’s guilty, that doesn’t make Diane blameless.
She says she doesn’t share his belief in Diane.
Michael says that she doesn’t have to believe in Diane, she needs to believe in him.
He asks why she can’t have faith in him.
The Abbott Mansion
Ashley and Tucker get a drink and clink their glasses in a toast to each other.
Ashley says that his business gave him a sense of success and that his identity was tied up in McCall, so when he sold it to Victor he lost a part of himself. She says he needs to find out who he is now.
Tucker scoots over closer toward Ashley and says he’s letting go of the past, and the future feels wide open. He says he’s not wandering aimlessly.
Ashley asks him what his plan is.
Tucker says he has some unfinished business in Genoa City and wants to build his relationship with Devon and Dominic… And with Ashley.
He says he wants to make himself irresistible to Ashely and ply her with his “unique brand of charm”.
Ashley says it sounds very exciting, but he’ll need something else to keep himself occupied.
Jack walks in and Tucker waves hello.
Jack does not look happy to see Tucker there.
Ashley says that Tucker is her guest, and she asked him to move in.
She says that Jack keeps telling her that his personal life is not her business, so it must work both ways.
Jack stalks off, and Tucker says, “That went well.”
The Neil Winters Jazz Lounge
Lauren says she trusts Michael, but Diane made Phyllis’s last month a living hell.
She says that because of Diane, Phyllis left them too soon.
Lauren stands up and says he was right, she can’t be there, it’s too painful. She runs out of the room crying.
Chancellor Park
Daniel says there’s nothing that either one of them can do to fix it, and that he promises they’ll get through it together because that’s what Phyllis would want.
Summer says that he’s right, Phyllis would want that.
Daniel says he’ll walk her home.
Summer says she needs another minute. She flashes back to seeing Phyllis in the park and hugging her.
She says she’s going to miss her so much.
Daniel says he’s going to as well.
He takes her hand and they leave the park together.
Next week on The Young and the Restless
Tucker, looking unkempt and wearing a housecoat, holds a tea tray and says good morning to Jack in the living room of the Abbott Mansion.
Elena tells Audra that Nate told her he went alone to L.A.
Audra says that he actually went with Victoria.
Chance tells Summer that if she has any new information about the case, she can talk to him about it.
