This episode of The Young and The Restless airs Tuesday, December 13, 2022. In this episode, Daniel and Lily talk about her relationship with Billy, Chelsea makes amends to Billy, and Devon confronts Nate. This recap’s episode airs one day early in Canada.
On the last episode of Y&R, Chelsea makes amends for her past sins, Summer tells her mother she’s responsible for bringing chaos to town, and Jeremy Stark tells Phyllis he wants to talk to her alone.
Society
Daniel is asking Lily what’s wrong. She says jokingly that she thinks there’s a law about talking about current relationships with an ex.

Daniel says he’ll forget every single word afterwards, because they’re exes, but they’re also friends.
She hesitantly agrees, and says that she feels like she’s losing Billy.

Lily says that he’s helping Chelsea at the exclusion of everything else.
Daniel asks if she’s worried about Billy and Chelsea getting romantically involved. She says she doesn’t think that’s happening.
She says that she’s over-shared, and that Daniel forced it out of her.

Daniel says that Billy must have really gotten his act together, if Lily is that involved with him.
Lily says that he’s everything that she could want in a partner.
Daniel says, “Until he’s impulsive, puts others first…”

He asks if Billy’s falling into old patterns, and Lily says that’s exactly what it is.
Daniel says that Billy and her aren’t losing each other… That Lily’s too nice, and that if she wasn’t so polite, she would realize that she needed to set more defined boundaries.

Lily says that she shouldn’t even be talking about this. She says they had an argument, and she’s still sorting things out.
Daniel wonders if Chelsea really needs Billy’s help right now to make it through things, and that they’re not giving him enough credit… What if he really is more noble than they think?

Daniel says it sounds like White Knight Syndrome.
Lily asks if she’s misreading the situation, but Daniel says that she’s smart, sympathetic, and thoughtful.
Daniel says that nobody can change Billy, he has to want to change… And where does that leave Lily?

Lily says that she’s glad that Daniel’s such a good friend, and thanks him for being there for her.
She says that it’s a rough patch, and she wants to think that she’ll work through it with Billy.
Daniel says that he hopes so too.
Chelsea’s Apartment
Billy says there’s nothing for Chelsea to apologize for, but she says that she has to, not only for her own good, but for his too.

Billy says that they are talking about what happened in Myanmar.
Chelsea nods and says, “The night that Johnny was conceived.”
Billy says that they can talk about that, but it’s ancient history, and they’re different people now.

Chelsea says that she needs to be accountable for it. She says that she has to do it.
They sit down, and Chelsea says that he wasn’t just another “mark” to her.
She says that she had sex with him, and he got thrown in prison because of her.

She says she knows that it was wrong, and she says she knows that it wasn’t consensual, and it couldn’t have been because he was “high out of his mind”.
She says that she drugged him, and he couldn’t have consented to anything.
Billy says that night was a perfect storm of “why the hell not?”.

Chelsea says that he’s making excuses, because he doesn’t think she can handle it.
He asks where this is all coming from, and Chelsea says that it’s all about Johnny… That he’ll grow up and ask where and how she met his father.

Billy says that his son was created that night with someone that he barely knew. He says she’s right, that he doesn’t remember anything.
He says that even still, he loves Johnny, and because of him, he wouldn’t change a thing.
Billy says that if anything like that ever happened to Johnny… Chelsea says she knows, and she’s so sorry.

Billy says that he accepts her apology, and hopes that Dr. Malone agrees that it will help.
She says that it’s all worth it, that it’s going to help her to have people accept her apologies for her past transgressions.

Billy says that she’s moving on, and she asks how… He says that if it were the same situation, would she do the same thing now?
She says she wouldn’t, and Billy says that shows that she’s grown up and is moving past it.

Chelsea says she’s raising Connor to be a better person than she ever was. She says that she’s grateful that Billy has shown her a semblance of kindness, and that it’s more than she deserves.
