This episode of The Young and The Restless airs Monday, Dec 12, 2022. In this episode, Chelsea makes amends for her past sins, Summer tells her mother she’s responsible for bringing chaos to town, and Jeremy Stark tells Phyllis he wants to talk to her alone. This recap’s episode airs one day early in Canada.
On the last episode of Y&R, Jack tells Jeremy Stark to get the hell out of his office, Nate talks with Lily and tries to make amends with Devon, and Diane makes the tough decision to leave town
Crimson Lights
Adam comes into the coffee shop, and thanks Sharon for her advice about Chelsea. He says that they came together for Connor’s sake, and it was a positive experience.
He says that ultimately, though, he and Chelsea took a step back, as he tried to go too fast with her.

Sharon says that he just needs to keep trying, and that he needs to take it slow.
Adam laughs and says he’s not one to be patient. He heads upstairs to get Connor from Chelsea’s.
Chelsea’s Apartment
Chelsea serves up a huge stack of pancakes for Connor, who’s dressed and ready to go to school.

Connor says that the bully at school was nice to him.
Chelsea says that’s a nice sign, and that his empty plate is a sign of a good appetite. She says she’s happy to hear that.
Connor says that it’s nice that she’s feeling good.

There’s a knock at the door. It’s Adam.
Chelsea invites him in and says that they have some extra pancakes for him.
Adam says she looks happy, and Connor says she’s feeling better.

Crimson Lights
Sharon is on the phone with Faith when Billy, Chelsea, and Connor walk in. She finishes her call, and greets them all.
Chelsea says that Adam and Connor are just heading out to bring him to school. She gives Connor a kiss and tells him to have a good day.

Adam and Connor say goodbye and leave Chelsea and Sharon to talk.
Chelsea says that she had a really good therapy session the other day, she’s feeling much better lately.
Sharon’s happy to hear that.
They sit down, and Chelsea tells her that she’s realized that she’s full of self-hatred, and she has to address it.

She says she’s tried to outrun the shame and loathing of things that she’s done in the past, but it finally led to a dangerous and life-threatening situation.
She says that she needs to apologize to Sharon, and that the acknowledges that they have a rough history.
She says she’s sorry for everything she’s done, and that it wasn’t fair to Sharon.

She understands that Sharon was dealing with her own illness, and it was her own fault that she didn’t
Sharon says they both had their own part in their tumultuous relationship, and she’s sorry for that as well.
Chelsea says that she apologizes for not seeing the true Sharon earlier.

Sharon says that she knows how damaging shame can be, and she accepts her apology.
Chelsea says she hopes it’s ok to say it, but she wishes Rey was there so that she could apologize to him too. Sharon says that Rey would be happy to hear that.
Adam comes back, and Chelsea asks if he can come up to the apartment with her for a few minutes. They leave up to Chelsea’s place.

Chelsea’s Apartment
Adam and Chelsea arrive back up to her apartment, and she tells him that she’s been taking accountability for her actions.
She says she just apologized to Sharon, and now it’s time for her to apologize to him.
Adam says that she doesn’t need to apologize, because he put her through hell.

She laughs, and says that he may not want her to, but she needs to.
She says that they had a great love, but she lied to him that he wasn’t Connor’s father, and that she hid her pain and mental illness from him when she faked her stroke.

She says that she really regretted it, and that she knows that he was only trying to help her, and she wouldn’t let him.
She says that she’s truly sorry.

She laughs and says that emotions don’t always have to be a bad thing.
He says that he really appreciates that she’s trying to do better, and thanks her for her apology.

She explains that she has a long list of people that she needs to make amends to.
He says, “I assume Billy is on that list.” She nods.

Society
Billy sees Lily, and says that he didn’t get a chance to say “Good morning, beautiful” to her before she left.

Lily says that she’s sorry she didn’t say anything, she had an early meeting.
Billy asks who with, and she gets defensive, saying that
He says he went to the club last night for a nightcap, and ran into Adam.

She asks if he had a problem with his relationship with Chelsea.
He says, “You obviously do. I never thought you two would be on the same page about anything!”
He asks her why she asked Chelsea to keep her distance from him.

Lily says that wasn’t the way the conversation went at all, that she was rooting for Chelsea, and was there to support her.
Billy says that Chelsea didn’t blame her for anything.
Lily says, “Oh, so you are?”
Billy asks why she’s so troubled about it, if she feels threatened by his closeness to Chelsea.

She says she’s not threatened in any way by Chelsea.
She says that he’s gambling with his recovery, and doesn’t think he realizes it.
He scoffs and says that it’s ridiculous. Billy says that she should talk to him about it instead of with Chelsea.

She says she never discussed it with Chelsea, and tells him that she can’t handle the way he’s being lately.
His phone pings, and Lily, frustrated, says, “Billy to the rescue again!”
He looks at his phone, and says that Chelsea says that she needs to speak to him.

Lily says that he should just go, like he always does when she needs him.
Billy walks away without another word, and Lily just looks after him.
Daniel comes in right after Billy leaves, and says that he’s happy he ran into her.

He asks if he can buy her a coffee, or maybe a tequila, because it looks like she could use it.
He says that she can talk to him about anything.

Chelsea’s Apartment
Billy shows up at Chelsea’s, and she invites him in and tells him that her therapist has asked her to make amends.
He says that he’s glad to hear that she’s making progress.
She says that she doesn’t know how she’s going to find the words to apologize for everything.

The Abbott Mansion
Nikki, Phyllis, and Ashley meet at the mansion. They’re in the living room, and Nikki wonders if they hadn’t gone too far by getting Jeremy Stark involved.
Ashley says that their plan worked, because Diane has left town.
Phyllis says “She just left?”

Ashley says that she saw Diane leave Jack and go to pack her bags at the Grand Phoenix.
Nikki says that nobody was hurt in the process.
Ashley says, “I’m not sure that’s true!”

She says that Jack is really angry with her, and she feels that she’s alienated him.
Jabot / Marchetti
Summer shows Daniel the Marchetti offices, and Daniel asks her what is with all the security at the office.
He mentions that there’s an actual guard in front of her office.

Summer says that there has been some industrial espionage, and asks Daniel what his plans are for his work.
He briefly mentions that he’s working hard on his new project.
Lauren comes into the offices and sees Daniel. She gives him a big hug, and asks him how he’s been, and where his father has been.

He says that he’s trying to get his father back to Genoa City.
Lauren says that she’s very concerned about Phyllis.
Jack comes in, and Summer says that she was just telling Lauren that Diane won’t be a problem anymore, as Diane has been called out of town.

Jack takes Summer into his office, and says that they need to figure out a way to drive Jeremy Stark out of town before he does any damage.
Jack says that they have to be very careful, and can’t tell anyone about it.

She says that she was just speaking with Daniel, but didn’t say a thing about it to him, though he asked about the extra security.
There’s a knock at the Jack’s office door. It’s Phyllis.
Jack says, “Phyllis. What do you want?”

Phyllis comes in and says that she’s there to say that she notices that Diane isn’t around.
Jack says that Phyllis won, that Diane has left town. He takes his coat and leaves the office.

Phyllis asks if Summer is angry at her like Jack is.
Summer says that Phyllis put Harrison in harm’s way by bringing Jeremy Stark to town.
Phyllis says that she did what she needed to.

Summer storms out, leaving Phyllis alone.
Phyllis turns around to find Jeremy Stark standing behind her in Jack’s office.
She stammers, “Jeremy. I see you found your way back up here!”

Jeremy says that he can be very persuasive.
Jeremy says that he’s there looking for Diane, and that she wasn’t at her hotel room last night.
He says that Phyllis was the one who told him where Diane was, and that there’s obviously no love lost between them.
Jeremy says that they should go somewhere that they can talk privately about Diane.

The Abbott Mansion
Nikki and Ashley are sitting alone on the couch talking.
Nikki says to Ashley that they probably won’t be seeing each other much now, as they’ve accomplished their goal of getting Diane to leave town.
Jack walks in and says hello to them, saying they’re probably celebrating Diane leaving town.

Jack says that they may have succeeded in driving their old enemy out, but they’ve broken Kyle and Harrison’s hearts in doing so.
